Nokia Drive fault - set destination crashing

Yesterday I tried to use the set destination function as usual but when pressing it, the phone returns to the home screen as is if I have pressed the windows home button. I am using a Nokia Lumia 800 with Windows 7.8 software. Can anyone help troubleshooting this? Turning it off and on again doesn't work...

Is the behavior the same with the other location-based apps you have installed on the phone? Are there apps running on the background aside from this?
If the behavior is only being observed on the phone Nokia Drive, we suggest uninstalling and then re-installing the app from Store.

  • To set Destination in Gmail in Nokia E72

I've got new E72 and "Mail for Exchange" and GMail on it as e-mail accounts.
Mail for Exchange let me set Destination as connection type, GMail doesnot let me to do this
I need to select connection manually in Gmail every "Send and Recieve". It's very inconvenient!
    NOKIA, pls solve this problem.

I totally agree: if it weren't for that I would be almost happy with my E72 with firmware 22.007.
This is fixed with Nokia Messaging's new software update, currently rolling out to the other S60 3rd Ed families. Unfortunately E72/E75/E52 have to wait for a firmware update as Nokia Messaging is native in our phones.
So, we can hope it will be solved sometime, but I wouldn't want to make a guess as to when...

  • Home Location Nokia Drive +

    Hello
I have recently purchased Nokia Lumia 925. How can i setup Home Location in Nokia Drive +.
    Thanks

There's no "home" setting in Here Drive, but you can rename a saved destination to "Home" and use it.

  • Editing Favourites in Nokia Drive 3.0

Can anyone please tell me how to edit favourites, i.e. How to delete or change name. As an example, when saving your position it seems that the name used on the favourite is taken from the map and if the map is not updated with the correct adress I need to change this (this is a fact with my home adress). Further more I cannot find avway to delete a saved favourie. Am I missing something here? As far as I can see nothing much new with this version of Nokia Drive.
    Solved!

    Just as the answer above.
To access the favourites, you first have to "Set destination" and from there choose the favourite list.
Also mind that the favourite list in Nokia Drive is totally separated from the favourite list in Nokia Maps...

  • Nokia Drive+ Beta: Stops navigating without warnin...

My Lumia 822 is rock solid and the Windows 8 Phone platform trumps my Android and BlackBerry experiences by far.  That said, the Nokia Drive+ Beta app has providing some frustration, although I do expect some of that with a beta app.  I connect to Bluetooth in in the vehicle, plug in a destination, set the phone in the console, and we're off to the races.  Unfortunately, several times now, after receiving multiple prompts and heading into my trip, I will notice it has been longer than expected since I've received a voice prompt.  I pick up the phone, only to find that the Drive+ app has ended navigation without warning and dropped back to the main screen where the app simply shows your location on the map, but is not actually navigating at all.  Thankfully, I haven't gone too far out of my way yet, but I have missed a few exits and wasted some time.
Is anyone else experiencing this, and is there a fix in the works?

    @pluciorx
Not feasible due to Microsoft OS restriction where only media or application .XAP can be placed upon memory card, whereas map data goes behind protected partition upon phone memory.

  • Lumia 920 Nokia Drive + Beta My Location Freezing

    Hi, first post, be gentle.
I am getting issues while using Nokia Drive + Beta, my position isn't moving when driving or taking 5 - 10 seconds to update then just freezes again.
it seems that i set destination, it finds me and my destination fine, i click start, it gives the first direction fine, i start driving and nothing, "my position" on the display doesn't move, the only way i can update it is "stop navigation" then "set destination" again where it picks up my new location.
i've ensured location services are on, location within the app is turned on, i've checked my connection is "online"...are there any other settings i should be aware of?
    speed alert is off,
    landmarks is off,
    map colours automatic
    updated maps
    navigation licence is global
i am using it in a windscreen mount that grips the top and bottom of the phone with little "arms", i've tried in both landscape and portrait orientation.
bluetooth is on and hoping to be playing music at the same time eventually.
i have been having the general "freeze out" issue recently with the phone where i lock it and then it doesn't come back on without a button reset, 2 times since friday
    any advice appreciated

I too had a similar issue, it was slow to update the other night when I needed GPS to find me a place my family and I were supposed to go to. I've had intermittent issues like that on my old N8 as well but I believe that was due to the network, rather than my phone.
However, now that you have mentioned that you have had to reset the device a couple of times, I suggest that you backup all your personal data first to your PC or other device, and then perform a hard reset. Ensure that you have the latest Nokia updates as well that are being pushed through the Store.
Failing that, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect, as it may be a deeper problem. To locate nearest Nokia Care: http://nokia.com/support

  • Routing issue with Nokia Drive on Lumia 900

So I finally tried to use Nokia Drive on a real trip (in New Jersey, USA) and I've noticed that the software often seems stuck on returning you to the originally plotted route when you deviate from it, instead of finding the best remaining route based on the new location. I'll give details for my particular trip in case this is a local issue.
We decided to take the NJ Turnpike to route 18 to River Road to Interstate 287 instead of 295 to 206 to 287 as Nokia Drive recommended (the routes are roughly equivalent in travel time, so I don't fault this initial route selection). When we entered the Turnpike, the new route kept trying to get us to 295 until we passed Exit 7 (In reality, past Exit 5 there isa considerable penalty to getting off the turnpike and onto I 295).
Finally, after Exit 7 it decided we should stay on the turnpike and get to 287 directly using Exit 10 (This too is roughly equivalent in travel time, so it was a reasonable suggestion). Once we took Exit 9 to route 18 instead it picked a different route than the one we are familiar with and this is where the biggest problem occurred. The route it suggested would enter 287 North at Exit 7, while the route we took entered 287 at Exit 9. It kept insisting we get back on its rout and get on at exit 7 to the point that when we were about to enter 287 at exit 9, it told us to get onto 287 *south* and take it to exit 7 where we would exit the highway and immediately re-enter it northbound. This is rediculous and should never have been suggested.
Am I right in my assessment that the software tries to stick to the original route instead of calculating a new one on the spot? What possible advantage can there be in doing it this way?
    Thanks in advance,
    Boris

Here is a quite stupid example on route recalculation and how it tries to return to the route originally suggested. The recalculated route suggests that I turn right, drive a few meters and then make a U-turn. The error is not in map data itself. The other picture shows that turning left is not forbidden.

  • Nokia Drive on Windows Phone- the future. What can...

    Hi Everyone,
The question is obviously pointed towards Nokia representatives here, but we're all probably interested in, more or less. So:
What can we expect from Nokia Drive (and Maps...) in future? Are we gonna be given back at least the basic functionality of what there was/is in Symbian Maps version?
    Precisely, I mean:
    - Destination selection basing on tapping the screen + FAVORITES
    - Route calculation customization (fast, short etc.)
    - Advanced planning, including multiple points on the route
    - POI handling in an up-to-date manner (menus and lists of POIs)
    - ... integration with ovi.com web service
I'm still hesitating between new Lumias and Android phones and, to be honest, Nokia Drive seems to be the deal breaker for me.
Another reason for asking is that, while we have a lot of info about Nokia Drive 3.0 featuring live traffic and all the magic stuff, that info still doesn't say anything about re-introducting the very basic functions of navi system.
I can imagine that maanny people think the same way and aren't happy with the navigation functionality drop with the WP introduction to Nokia.
    Thanks!
    Michael

    @jamiekt
No reason to assume that they won't get updated 3 - 4 times a year as Nokia Maps upon Symbian OS devices do currently.

  • Nokia Drive offline

    Hi All,
I'm using Nokia Drive on my N8 for the first time today, when I opened the application it asked me if I wanted Online or Offline mode. I chose Online. Now I realise that I should have chosen Offline, however it seems I can't change the setting in Nokia Drive now. There is no "Connection" option or similar in the Settings menu. How do I switch Nokia Drive to default to Offline mode now, or am I stuck with Online mode for ever? Thanks for any help!
Note; moved post to separate thread as it was posted in wrong forum. Edited title to reflect new thread.

Well, I have the latest version that's actually a suite of multiple apps... you set them up opening the "Maps" app, go to general settings, you'll find the online/offline setting there.
That should affect the "Drive" App as well.
    hope this helps...
    cheers

  • Nokia Drive 3.0 Commute Live Tile

The Nokia Drive live tile does not update at commute time. I have to open app then exit to start screen at which time the live tile updates. When I open the app the second time it will the ask if I want to begin the commute. The live tile should automatically change near the specified commute time.

Nokia ovi maps was a good software with some minor flaws which i had hoped would be solved in the wonderful 'nokia drive' software. Thus i bought a lumia800. Obviously Nokia Drive was only designed so Nokia could claim they have a free navigation software. I think, they hope that after 10 seconds every user will realize, that it is useless and buy 'Navigation Europe' (45€) (which is still not as good as ovi maps used to be.)
You cannot chose fastest/shortest/optimised route, so nokia drive basically always goes for the next motorway, even if it is a major detour and/or takes longer.
If you leave the route it keeps trying to get back on the route, even if your destination is 50 meters straight ahead
destination input is awkward and lacks the option to pick a destination on the map
You cannot chose to avoid toll roads
You can only add a favorite on your current position
You can only add maps country by country
Voice commands with street names are not availablea
Offline search for the simplest things like 'gas station' does not yield useful results - a poi database (like in ovi maps) is not available
And i do not expect that any of the next updates will solve any of these issues, else nobody would buy the navigation europe software.
so as things are now i would recommend to buy any other phone with gps and buy some navi-software. 'free nokia navigation' is not an argument for anything.
    So disappointing!

  • Nokia drive 3.0 unable to sync favorites

Is there a way to sync Drive3.0 Favorites to Nokia account?  If not how can I transfer favourites from Nokia Maps ?

It might be me, but if Nokia maps is installed on my Lumia 800 and the favourites are synced and stored on my phone, I would have thought Nokia Maps & Nokia Drive (both by Nokia) apps could access these synced favourites, after all what is the point on having to enter every destination for 'drive' when it's already stored by you in the 'maps' app. This does to things: 1. Annoys people having to enter things twice. 2. Wastes storage space on the phone (even though it might only be a small ammount). Also Nokia maps on my C6 seems more accurate, as I live at number 9 and my C6 says either 11 or 13, but Nokia Drive says number 24. Which is on the other side of the street and 5 houses away. Even my Garmin says number 11. It's. A pitty that all Satnav units and apps could not allow the user to calibrate then to there exact position. E.G. while outside our home, use a calibration option and press cursors until it shows the exact location. From then on everything should be correctly displayed.

  • Configure Stepper Drive Fault indicator w/ UMI 7764 and a Kollmorgen P5000 Stepper Drive

Hi I am using a NI PXI-7352 with a UMI-7764 connected to a Kollmorgen P5000 Stepper drive Get datasheet here http://www.kollmorgen.com/en-us/products/drives/stepper/p5000-series/p5000-stepper-drive/
I have all the connections hooked up like so
    P5000            UMI-7764
    DISABLE IN --> INHOUT1
    FLT OUT      --> INHIN1
UMI active states switches are both set to Active Low.
The P5000 is disabled when a +5VDC signal is sent to the DISABLE IN line and 1 second after going LOW the drive is enabled. (not the best way to do things because if the PXI Chassis is turned off the drive becomes enabled)
When the drive faults the output goes LOW.
So my issue is that when the drive is disabled the fault goes LOW which seems to put my UMI into a continuously triggered on/off state. The drive LED flickers Green Red Green Red... and makes a high frequency noise that doesnt sound good. Can I use the Write Motion I/O Data.flx VI to configure this to work? Thanks let me know if anymore information is needed.
    -Ryman

    Sebastien,
(Voir
le bas de la page web)
    http://www.ni.com/devzone/advisors/motion/driveadvisor.htm
Je ne connais pas les spec de votre stepper, mais si vous désirez l'utiliser avec un UMI 7764, le plus simple serait de contacter la fbricant de ce moteur, et d'obtenir une liste de drive que celui conseille.
