Nokia E 63 Greek language lost after frimware upgr...

The title says all...   my nokia E 63 was bough from Greece and i use the greek version of nokia pc suite. After upgrading to the current  firmware version (30/5/2010)(don't remember wich)  i lost the ability  both to write and switch the phone to greek language. There is also a keyboard problem as whenever i hit the Y key, the Z character  appears and vice versa, whenever i hit Z i get Y.   Is there a way of fixing this problem ??
Btw  the available languages are : 1)English
                                                               2)Deutsch
                                                               3)Turkce    (propably turkish )
4)Esti          (no clue what that is )

Nope, the phone was bought brand new from an authorized nokia reseller (box was sealed when i received it ). The firmware was upgraded by using nokia software updater through my pc.  I've also tried reseting to factory settings  but the problem insists.....
(using windows 7 ulti x64 )
edit: in the about product says : E63-1 is this normal ???

I will make it simple this time.
I have 'middle east' version of nokia n97 with Arabic language included."I could write in Arabic"
after updating to V22 I couldn't do that any more?
Is it possible to reinstall that language back without Hard resetting my phone ?

This thread will explain the reason.. Be warned that any Future Firmware Updates / Re-install will again remove this language and you will need to get it installed again thru' Nokia Care...
Future firmware updates will not remove the language after that, if whomever does the flashing also changes the product code to match the new firmware language variant.

  • To the SW Update team: Language lost after softwar...

Hi! Today, 12th September 2006, I updated Phone Software on my E60. After this procedure I fixed that I have NO Russian language in the list. So I do can not restore all my enviromnment because the programm ask me to switch phone language to Russian before do restore. And Russian letter are not supported. What is even worst that during the update procedure I was NEVER informed about the languages which are supported in the new Phone software. What should I do to get Russian language back to my phone? Thanx

not the IMEI, the product code, usually 7 digits code, behind the battery, near RM-##. The product code indentifies only the geographic area of your mobile, don't provide your IMEI on a public forum!

  • Does Nokia Suite come in the Greek language?

It was not in the installation options...  Moreover, once I installed Nokia Suite in English(UK), it updated the software in my phone (701), which became English too and lost all support for Greek language.

    Hi altiport,
Yes it is true that Nokia Suite do not have an option for Greek language. But it is very strange that when you updated your phone software it changed your phone language as well.
However, you can choose Greek language in your phone by going to Settings -> Phone -> Language and then you can choose Greek language.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,

  • Nokia 225 Dual Sim firmware 20.00.11 greek languag...

    I have a Nokia 225 Dual Sim (Model RM-1011 Code 059V5S6)
    I had firmware 10.01.11
I upgraded with Lumia Software Recovery Tool to 20.00.11 and greek language disappeared.
Is it possible to downgrade? Because the phone is used by my 74 years old dad and english is not an option for him.

The Nokia feature phones never had the ability to downgrade. Are you really certain that the new firmware that got installed is the same as that was previous? Because they usually don't miss out on languages as such.
Does the about section display the same product code (059V5S6) as printed on the label under the battery?

  • Greek Language for Nokia 3100

I have a Nokia 3100B and wanted to add Greek Language. Please drive me how to do so.
    Thanks a lot

it is not possible to do that. every region has specific language packs installed on the phone. there is no way to just add another language to the device.

  • 6300 AFTER UPDATE GREEK LANGUAGE GONE

I UPDATE MY NEW 6300 FROM VER 5.50 TO VER 6.01.THE NSU WROTE THAT THIS VER IS COMPATIBLE WITH MY REGION.
    RESULT,THE GREEK LANGUAGE GONE!!!
DO YOU KNOW ATIP HOW TO RESTORE THE OLDER VERSION OF FIRMWARE?
    THANKS
    COSTAS GREECE

You can't reapply an older firmware, and that wouldn't help anyway.
This issue occurs when the retail trade has had language packs addes after production to sell a phone in a different region than originally intended.
The only way to reapply the language is to have it done at an authorised service point.

  • Greek language in Nokia 6290

Thanks a lot my friend. I thought so too, but I was hoping that I could do it my self without leaving my phone for such a long time that they need to make the update.
    Anyway, thanks a lot again...

  • Unicode language disappeared after a hard reset on...

recently i did a hard reset on my n8 belle. After a hard reset i can't able to see unicode language such as Bengali language anymore. Before hard reset i can see unicode language on my n8 default web browser. Now what can i do ? Plz help me
    Nokia N8 Official Belle Refresh

The Symbian OS is from the ground up based on Unicode.
A particular phone might not have Unicode fonts with all languages as part of the firmware, but they might be installed afterwards.
A hard reset might (and probably does) remove fonts from phone memory that are not in ROM (read-only memory).
A firmware update might restore them, if the fonts are part of the firmware update.
Otherwise, a firmware update might also cause languages to be lost, if the firmware has been updated to a different language variant after the phone left the factory:

The problem is that it was set without Greek language .... How can I update to include my language as well.

I think you have to take it to nokia care point and they will install the language for you.

  • 220 Dual sim greek language

I recently bought here in Greece an a 220 dual sim. Then I tried to install the configurations of Cosmote (mobile service company) for the internet but none of the internet apps was working. Then I downloaded and installed LumiaSoftwareRecoveryTool as instructed and I updated the software to V20.14.11.
The internet works fine afterwards but I lost greek language display and typing. There is no option for greek right now.  What can I do?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Mhm. Something is wrong. I would talk to my retailer because you got a Nokia 220 Dual SIM designated not for Greece but Italy.
With a Nokia Series 30+ (MediaTek) based phone like yours, the set of languages depend on the firmware variant. The firmware variant is identified through the Nokia Product Code which is printed on the label on the phone (059…). If you had 059V1N5 for example, you would get the Greek language. Officially, only a Nokia Care Center is able to change the firmware variant, officially.
