rahul, as per what you have explained it seems a bit unusual issue. You have taken the best recovery measurements step by step. I suggest you take the device to the care Centre as it sems to be a issue with the mail client only.

    hi mate,
have you checked if there are any firmware updates available for your device? if there are any, please update to the latest version offered. if that fails, try reinstalling your current firmware thru Nokia Suite, and if that doesn't work, then Restore your phone to factory settings.
Failign the above, you need to visit Nokia Care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support

  • My nokia e mail won't connect to server

My nokia e mail won't connect to server please help i've tried everything i know

    Thanks for your response.
I did that already.  I did the full maintenance treatment:  Disk Warrior, followed by Applejack AUTO (which does a permissions repair and caches clean), followed by three PRAM zaps.
In accordance with Murphy's Law, it started working again about the time your post came in, but it had been hours of it not working after running the aforementioned gauntlet.
I have my doubts whether it will keep working.  Meantime, Mail is humming along on my MBP.  If you have any other ideas, I'd love to see them!
    Cheers,
    Jim

  • E71 - Can't send e-mail with the Nokia E-mail

I'm not able to send e-mail when I use the Nokia E-mail although I can receive it.
    I use a SMTP account.
The strange is that I compose or reply the e-mail, I click in the SEND option, but it keeps retrieving and out of the blue the e-mail disapear. It doesn't show any error message. And I can't find the e-mail that I wrote.
The other thing is that I can't move the e-mails that are in the inbox to the drafts. When I click in options, it doens't show this options (move to drafts).

Ahhh after some research and trail and error.. (hours of it)... I got a work around!!! I tried it for gmail and it works fine now!! Below is what you do:-
On inital stage please type dont type correct yahoo, gmail, hotmail or other email ID "
for example if ur id is ****@hotmail.com that type ****@abc.com insted of hotmail. and correct it on second stage.
Go to Mail on your phone  - Options - Settings -  scroll down to email - Options - New Mailbox
Click - start and then NO to allow connections (that stops Nokia Messaging swinging into control)
Now enter your hotmail address except do not put @hotmail.com at the end.  Put @abc.com
e..g. if you email is *****@hotmail.com then enter mailto:*****@abc.com
Now enter your password - press OK
Now you will get an OPTION to define settings and it will allow you to manually set the POP3 or IMAP
Now put in your correct email id and passwd while setting the IMAP. for gmail use the following >
Enter 'imap.gmail.com' as the incoming mail server, Select 'SSL/TLS' for your security (ports) and define your port as '993.'
Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' as the outgoing mail server,Select 'StartTLS' for your security (ports) and define your port as '587.'
Save it... and you will say Wow!!! that worked!!!
    Atleast it worked for me!!!
Try this out... hope this helps!!!

Do you mean updated to the latest version ? If not, check using the Nokia Suite whether the software is upto date.
Else, may be a faulty device.

  • Nokia C3 mail problem

    Hi,
I am not able to connect to mail at home although I am not connect to internet via WIFI but every time I try to connect nokia mail, I got  "Communication error Try again" error.
I went to Nokia Priority for check up of my phone and tried Nokia mail again but that time it works fine.
Not able to understand is this my wifi modem problem or some thing else.
    Please suggest

    I have the same problem.
When I first bought the phone it worked first attempt.
I was using a D-Link wireless G router at the time. ABout 2 weeks later I updated my router to a D-Link wireless N router (running in N/G mode) and I can still browse the web, but I can't use the Nokia mail application anymore.
I have a background in networking, but I can't find any settings in the router that make it work.
I should add that if I swith back to the old router the mail works properly again.

  • Nokia C3: Mail does not load

When selecting Mail, it just keeps on getting updates for hours. It's not loading. Please help.

This happened to me initially with firmware version 3.36. The phone attempted to use GPRS or EDGE over WLAN even when I told it not to. . I tweaked the settings as described in this thread and eventually every feature started to work.

  • Nokia N8 Mail for Exchange deleting all emails fro...

I've got a Nokia N8 which was working perfectly fine with Mail for Exchange, but recently has got the annoying habit of deleting all the messages from my inbox and moving them all to the deleted folder.
The only thing I've done differently as of late was in linking my hotmail account to my other phone which was a E5.
I've unlinked and deleted the account from the E5, but about once a day, I will check my MFE on my N8 and all messages have been deleted to where I will moved them back from Deleted to the Inbox.
It seems like it will be fine for a couple of hours, then it will delete them.
I've removed the mailbox and reinstalled, but it keeps happening.
    Very annoying.
    Any recommendations?
I'm about ready to flash to 11.05 and back to Anna again.

flotron posted this temporary workaround in the other thread:
"I think i found the problem.. (i think i said)
For the moment no deleted messages in about 2 days, the workaround:
Don't open/use Windows Live Mail client at same time you use/connect Nokia Exchange
It seems that using Nokia and WLM at the same time makes some conflict
I hope this will solve the problem. Now from computer i'm checking my emails from the web client"
I was using Outlook as my other client, but I guess the conflict with Exchange ActiveSync was the same

  • Nokia E71 Mail for exchange "Connection Error. Try...

    Hi
I have used /Nokia E71 with latest MfE, i got my details from my Employers Microsoft outlook 2007 like exchnage server, domain and user name.
I just want to synchronise E-mails, whenever i try to synchronise i get "Connection Error. try Later".
Please help me , i am just stuck on that,

Try following the below steps and let me know if we still have the problem.
Choose Yes to create a profile.
    Enter these items
E-mail address - e-mail address of your exchange server
Domain - Domain name of your exchange server - Your Exchange Administrator can provide this information
    Username  - Domain username
    Password - email password
Access point  - choose the connection you are using.  Most likely this is your data plan cellular connection
The Exchange Server will be discovered and populated for you automatically in most cases.  If the Exchange server is not discovered, select the Exchange Server field and enter your server information given to you by your email administrator.
Verify the Secure connection is set to Yes.   Change to No only if your Exchange Administrator dictates the change.  The wrong value will make the connection fail.
    Press Options
    Select Save
From here you can verify if all is setup correctly by watching the Current status.
    Press Options
    Select Exit

  • NOKIA E-MAIL NOT WORKING ON NOKIA ASHA 303

So, I had my Nokia Asha 303 working perfectly with no bugs, no lag and good internet speed until I got this message asking me if I wanted to update my cellphone software to the v14.53. I accepted and left my phone on, with full battery, on a stable wifi connection without even touching it while the firmware was updating.
So far, so good. After it installed, all features of my phone kept working but the E-mail tool that came with the phone. The advantage of this tool for me is that I could just open a picture menu in the phone and click on "send" and the "e-mail" option would be just there. After I did this firmware update, not only my picture´s menu stopped showing the "e-mail" option on the "send" section, but I couldn´t even open the E-mail tool anymore. I would click to open it, and it just wouldn´t respond. Not even a error message.
I tried solving the problem by doing a hard format of the cellphone... making it go back to it´s factory´s configurations. It didn´t work.
I bough a data-transfer USB cable and tried to solve the problem with the Nokia Suite... all I could do was update the firmware to a newer version v14.60. But even that didn´t work. I tried to reinstall it... still... nothing.
Now... I have the feeling that, for some reason, the first firmware update I did deleted or corrupted the E-mail tool, making it impossible to restore it´s feature. Is there any way I could download the feature? Is there any other way to fix it?
I tried contacting Nokia´s Support by e-mail and phone but they said I´d have to send my phone by mail in order to be fixed and I just know that it will take a huge time till it gets solved...
                           Thanks for the time.

    Hi MrFelps,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
If a hard reset and reinstallation of the software have not resolved the issue, please visit a local Care centre where this can be fixed for you.
The Care centre will most likely be able to do this in the shop itself and so you won't have to send the phone for repair. If this is necessary after all they will able be able to give you an estimate of how long it will take to repair the phone and send it back to you.
You can find your nearest Care centre here.
Hope this helps, please keep me updated on your progress.

  • Nokia E mail messaging trial

I have a 5800 and am on a 'free trial' from Nokia so that my e mails get forwarded to my phone.  I think that this is one of the reasons it s draining my battery, so want to stop it.  Also I am off to Egypt on Monday and am worried that I will have sky high charges for this service when abroad, so I sent an e mail on Sunday to the care team and got an automated response saying they would be in touch in 48 hours, needless to say that has not happened and they have not stopped the service either, I just sent another e mail this morning, but can any one give me any details as to how i can turn it off?  detailed please as i get quite confused!!!.  Also just to be on the safe side could someone tell me where on my phone I could turn the internet off before I go to save any accidental pressings.  Thank you all

In the options of these apps, use always ask before connecting. In the options for e-mail go to no data while roaming. Set your packet-data connection from when available to when needed. You can also delete the packet-data accesspoint after writing down the settings. Have a pleasant flight.

  • Nokia e-mail issues

First thing was I have been watching my phone memory going low - since I install applications only in memory card that seemed a bit strange. The only application receiving data was nokia mail so I think this could be the source of the problem.
Q1: am I right or wrong in thinking that native mail client stores data in phone memory? Any setting I am missing?
Q2: why am I unable to delete e-mails? It asks whether to delete from the phone or the server too, but neither command works!
Q3: Why is yahoo (automatically) getting IMAP settings and wrong security/ports settings? I had to manually set it up with POP settings plus SSL and correct ports, to make it work.
Q4:How can I have all my e-mail accounts shown in front screen with new mails in brackets? It showed only the hotmail inbox activity.
I could live with the rest but the memory thing is tough for me.I had gone to 30MB free space with no major installations (ovi maps and ngage only) and starting from 75MB (since I did a format).Plus I couldnt delete the mails!
What can I do? Any suggestions?
    Thanks.
PS - handset is n85 with latest firmware (30.179).

actually i believe that native client can store data on the memory card, messaging - options- settings- other
you can go as high as 999 and set it to memory card. your text messages will be stored there too.
also make sure that you delete your browser cache on regular basis as it does store cookies and stuff on the c memory - phone memory
