  • Nokia E72: IMAP Sync settings - What does 'After N...

    hello,
Could someone tell me the difference between 'Manual' & 'After Notification' settings under When to Sync option for IMAP email set up ?
    Thanks
    venks

No one knows; Nokia never documented what it does.  It is in several phones and not documented in any of them.  I was thinking it was for IMAP Idle, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  The phone eventually drops the data connection, thus it never gets notified of new mail like IMAP Idle is suppose to work.  Nokia supports swears the E72 supports IMAP Idle, but they don't say how to enable it.  All they do is say contact your mail provider and check the account settings.  They have been told time and time again, IMAP Idle works with other mail applications on the same phone.  The support staff if just reading the phone specs and thinks just because it is listed, it is fully supported and works.

  • Calendar sync settings between iPhone & MBP screwup podcast syncs!

Really surreal:  when I needed to access a 2nd microsoft exchange account to my phone, iTunes suddenly said that syncing calendars would now change many of my calendar items--even though I told it I did not want to sync to that exchange account's calendar.  So to avoid the inevitable screwing up of all of my repeated events on all of my other calendars, while waiting to hear back from Apple (which is almost certainly a hopeless endeavor at this point, to find a solution to this, because they really couldn't care less about the kind of use to which I put my calendar), I stopped autosyncing the phone, and when I want to sync, I first click 'replace calendar data on phone with data from the computer for this sync only', then sync.  And guess what?  My podcasts that I listen to on the phone weren't showing as listened to in iTunes after each sync.  So they aren't being deleted as they should be (default settings are 'only keep unplayed podcasts).
I have played with the settings repeatedly to verify this--if I do not first click 'replace calendar data on phone with that from computer' and just sync, I first see the 'this is going to mess up a bunch of calendar items, do you want to do this?' and click 'sync calendar later', and then the rest of the sync seems to go normally and I see the plays reflected in the iTunes list of podcasts.  If I leave the 'replace calendar data' checked, the play data does not cross over.
What a weird buggy thing iTunes is.  And so frustrating that security issues with my workplace trap me with hard-wired sync via iTunes.
Besides recreating all of my repeated events (that's going to be quite a few hours work to recreate the repeated items, and then to verify the out-of-pattern repeats with work schedules, the kind of thing that is likely to cause me to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time), anyone have any idea how to avoid this bizarre problem?
    MBP unfortunately updated to 10.8.4
    iTunes 11.0.4
    iPhone on iOS 6.1.3

Gave up, synced calendars, spent several hours verifying calendar item dates, what lovely way to spend my time, and podcasts plays are syncing again.  Just surreal.

  • Calendar Sync issues - help!

I am not currently using the iCloud due to the duplicates issue.  So I hard sync my iPad with my MacBook Pro.  All of the information that I enter into my iPad won't transfer to my iCal!!
    Why?!

I have been having very similar issues to those described by Imola.  The calendar appears to try to load, and a few appointments may show up, but then they will all (or almost all) dissapear.  My company uses Exchange 2003.
Occassionally, deleting a large attachement has helped.  But not always.  Several times in the past, I have exported all my calendar entries as a .csv file, deleted all the calendar entries in Outlook, and then re-imported the .csv file.  While this always works to re-populate my calendar, it also strips functionality (like recurring appointments).
This is very frustrating, and results in me havinging to rely on my Blackberry while traveling, when I would like to just trust the data in the iPad.  A web search clearly shows that many people have this issue, but I have not yet seen any direct responses from Apple.  I hope this is addressed soon.

  • Seeking a Nokia or Samsung sync workaround - help!

    Greetings everyone,
Apple Forums newcomer here, so be gentle with me, please.
I'm looking to purchase a new cell phone shortly, and was effectively flipping a coin between the Nokia 6111 and the Samsung D500 (or D600), until I realised neither of them are listed as compatible devices for iSync.
Now I know from digging around in here that the Nokia 6111 is a series 40 phone and thus not supported, and Samsung (for whatever buggy/proprietary software reasons) has never been supported. I caught mention of the PhoneDirector for some series 40 phones, but it doesn't seem to include coverage for the 6111 (from their page, is that incorrect?).
So, basically what I want to know is this:
Is there a program or workaround (or anything!) for either the Nokia 6111 or Samsung D500/D600 for transferring pictures/photos to your Mac?
Contacts and phone numbers I'm not so concerned with, but what I really want to be able to do is get my photos to my iBook without having to spend $$$ sending them via MMS. I don't mind if it's Bluetooth or USB (or what), I just want to be able to do it.
If not, that's cool (though I'll be disappointed) - I just want to know. It's the deciding factor on a phone for me, as I've had a Motorola v620 for about 15 months and not a day goes by where I don't want to throw it out a window somewhere (not the least of which because I've never been able to get photos off it!).
I'd appreciate any help, insight, or advice I can get.
    Cheers,
    -adiav.

    Hi there.
I am using a nokia N70, and although the 'handset' is not supported through isync at the moment, the os (symbian 60) is. If you go to my website, I have listed a quick fix for isync that makes the phone work fine.

  • IPad calendar sync

Why a calendar entry made into my Ipad 2 does not sync with my Mac, if i do it from the Mac no problem?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • ICloud calendar syncing

I am having a problem with my ipad and airbook syncing my calendar with my desktop with icloud.  Things i enter on my desktop calendar sync to the ipad and airbook, but it's not working the other way around.

  • Outlook '07 Calendar Sync fails, please help!

I have an unusual problem with a brand new Blackberry Curve and Desktop Manager 4.3.
Initially, phone and computer (Outlook) synched perfectly. After a week of use, the Outlook Calendar stopped synching. It failed at record 17 with an Application Error. Forcing the user to quit desktop manager and restart it to access anything to do with synching. If I removed Calendar synching from the synch tasks--everything else synched normally.
I thought there must be a bad record on the phone or computer--so I started deleting recent events, synching only events within a range of dates, etc.. Nothing worked. Next step was clearing the database on the phone. Didn't help. Finally called my provider---they couldn't help so they forwarded me to Blackberry support. While talking with Blackberry support I was modifying settings, changing settings back and forth--and suddenly it started synching the calendar again--oddly enough without any kind of special setting.
For a week the phone & computer synched perfectly. Yesterday, the same error returned. Nothing I have done so far has fixed it this time. I've gone back through everything I did previously (I think)--and still, the Outlook 2007 Calendar synch fails at record 17?!?
I'm at a loss. The only clue from the end-user is that just prior to the problem recurring he had updated the Calendar on the Curve--all other Calendar updates were entered in Outlook. But I have cleared the Calendar database on the phone and the problem persists.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much in advance.

    ** UPDATE 3 -- FINAL -- PROBLEM FIXED ***
I was able to fix my non-working iTunes Windows Calendar sync by going back to iTunes for Windows v11.1.1.
    I used the following steps:
    (1) Uninstalled iTunes for Windows (and associated Apple software) using this guide:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    (2) Installed iTunes for Windows v11.1.1.11.exe
(Got older version from File Hippo)
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes_32/16100/
    (3) Launched iTunes for Windows, then connected iPad via USB port
    (4) When iPad was recongized, RESET SYNC HISTORY
-- In iTunes select "Edit", then "Preferences", then select the "Devices" tab
-- click the "Reset Sync History" button
    -- click "OK".
    (5) Sync the iPad replacing the exiting Calendars on the iPAD
-- click the 'iPad" button at the top-right of iTunes
-- Select the "Info" button at the top
-- Check "Sync Contacts with Outlook", "Sync Calendars with Outlook"
-- Scroll down and in the "Advanced" section click "Replace information on this iPad, Calendars"

Calendar schedule blank. All appts disappeared from 3g iphone calendar synced to yahoo. After Yahoo corrected error message on their website and I re-synced my iphone, calendar reappears but will not allow edit from iphone. I can't find settings within Yahoo or within my iphone to alter editing options.
How can I get access to edit and delete the Yahoo calendar from my iphone? I never schedule anything from the Yahoo webpage. All my appointments and reminders are scheduled from the iphone.
    iOS 4.2.1 (8C148a)

My Yahoo email account worked just fine on my iPhone 4S  for the last 2 months. Then this morning I started receiving the apple.imap.mail,yahoo error.  I tried all of the steps above in solving the yahoo email issue including numerous hard re-sets and deletions of my yahoo account settings without any success. So I gave up trying to use the default Yahoo setup option.  I added my Yahoo account back as an "other" type email account and then had the option to choose to set it up as a "POP" account instead of an IMAP type. I then just used the server settings recommended from Yahoo Help for a Yahoo Plus Email POP (or just google yahoo plus email pop settings). This works and I am back in business.
I'm not sure if this will work for yahoo mail classic accounts.
Frustrating that this issue seems to have been going on for quite awhile and Apple still as not made any acknowledgement of this issue or proposed a fix for those of us that can not resolve the issue with a reset.

  • Photoshop Help | Sync settings using Adobe Creative Cloud | Photoshop CC

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/sync-settings.html

    Steve,
Actually, I beleive this is a CC issue... but Who Am I? In any event...
I have not been able to Sync.
I have had only one Adobe ID (since around PS 3).
My Network Connection is fine (if evidenced only by us communicating.)
I have quit and lanched PS probably 20 times since I discovered this issue last week.
Thank you for taking the time to help me.

  • HT4528 iphone calendar sync help

I have many google calendars and all show up in my calender setting (iphone). I've chosen my primary calender with the radio button but in my "notification" screen multiple calendars show up??? how do i fix this?

I had just the opposite problem, that is, entries into Outlook calendar would not go to iCloud. I found the following solution:
Make sure that you are NOT running Outlook as Administrator (right click Outlook->Properties->uncheck "Run as Administrator". For some reason calendar sync (Outlook <-> iCloud) does not work if you run Outlook as administrator.
I don't know if this will fix your problem, but it's worth looking at. Let me know if it helps.

  • Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 and Calendar Sync

Why did Nokia get rid of the calendar sync function that allows a user to sync years into the future and past.
Nokia Ovi Suite is a poor replacement for Nokia PC Suite.
    Switching back.

I sync with Outlook calendar all the time.  Ovi Suite also takes all the time in the world to sync, but the ability is there.
