Nokia E50 contacts list synchronisation problem

Hello.
I have a problem. My contacts list in my cell phone keep two or more one type records per contact (for example when man have two mobile phones and ones stored in contacts list with same label 'mobile'). When I do synchronise my phone with PC so only 1st record stores per each contact with two or more identical labels. When I try to see contacts list by Nokia Phone Browser I see each contacts with first 'mobile' label too. Second, third, etc not shown. How I can to do full synchronise in this case?

Nokia N8 - Contact List disappear ?

I have a Nokia N8 , recently i am facing one problem, my all the contact no. are disappear from the contact list , I don't know how was this happened? Every now and then my Nokia N8 contact list freezes when I try to select a contact fom the list, when starting a call or by accessing the contact list directly. A reboot, factory reset nor firmware reinstalling doesn't solve the problem, it only works temporarily. When the list freezes I am able to swipe through it up and down, though selecting contacts is not possible. I do see a cursor blinking in the lower half of the screen, at the position where the search window normally is. The search window itself is vanished.
Does anyone happen to know how i can really fix the problem permanent?
I used to experience the same problem on the N8, though the freeze isn't only limited to accessing the contact list but happens randomly when swiping through home screens, opening a folder etc. I managed to resolve this problem though I have forgotten what exactly it is. If I'm not mistaken it is due to an installed (bad) application that is causing the freeze. In my case it's the Whatsapp application. The freezing problem seemed to have disappeared after I removed the application from the phone and reintall it back again.

This is a fix/workaround for that issue.
If you dont have a gmail account. make one.
setup itunes to sync contacts to Google.
run a sync with your iPad on itunes like you normally would. This should fix that problem since the contact entries will be reset and replaced again.

Nokia C7 contact list

Will Nokia add the possibility to automatically download the contact list (phonebook) from my C7 to the Bluetooth system of my Jaguar-XF in their next software update ? I have no problems at all with my older Nokia-6021.

I checked Jaguar site and Nokia site.
C7 is listed as supporting phone book access profile, but on Jaguar site it does say that contacts can only be pushed from the phone to the carkit, same info also given for N8.
Other Nokia devices seem OK so bit difficult to work out if it is a Jaguar problem or a Nokia problem. Only way would be to put a call into Nokia and ask them to get back to you with support about your device.
Are you able to do a "Mark All" in contacts and send them all to the car kit via bluetooth?

You have to remember another important thing - this is not just the 5800, the business orientated E90 has the same problem in recent firmware which wasn't there in the original firmware. I don't really think your argument about it not being a business centric phone applies either, Nokia have already given the 5800 the standard S60 client so clearly they've decided that despite it being music-centric, it should still have a mail client. And this is a bug, not a feature - it's quite simply stupid to only allow the phone to download every mail, it would make far more sense to be able to use the limit system they have in place, only download new mail or to allow the auto-update portion (which has the limit) to connect to the mailbox automatically. The current system is actually more complex than either of those as it actually goes and downloads everything, unfortunately it's an undesirable 'feature' as the phone simply cannot do it as it will keep downloading until it actually kills itself.

Nokia 500 contact list

My contact list is all (unnamed). I tried to delete the contacts in my sim card but it is still the same. It works fine when it comes to SMS. HELP ME !!!!!! I am so fustrated !

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
Please open your contact list and go to Options > Settings > Contacts to display. Make sure you've ticked the boxes for both Phone memory and SIM memory. You should now be able to see the names of your contacts in your contact list.
Let me know if this resolves the isse, otherwise I can provide further support.

Contacts list access problem

Can anyone advise? Yesterday I found that when I composed a message & tried to add any contact the address book was said to be empty!! If I open the Contact list it shows all contacts as it should.

I have no access to my Yahoo contacts. I cannot search or browse them. The only way I can get ONE is by adding the contact from an email. Then, if I ask to see more contacts either through the partial alphabet buttons or to see the entire list of contacts, I'm back to the same search page where NOTHING happens. Did I say this is VERY frustrating?? HELP

Hi, jsut started using Mac and just fell in love with it. Lot to learn thoug.
I jsut purchased my iPhone5 and I am trying to get my contact list from galexy S2 to iphone5.
I got the contact data to my MacBook Pro but I can not get them into the iphone. I tried iCloud, google and off course
itune. could some please help me out. I really appreciate you help. thanks.

Nokia N95 Contact List Missing.

I have a Nokia N95 and when i go to my contacts none of the contacts appear and there is no "options" just "exit". The numbers are still in my simcard or phone as when people call me their name still appears. I just cannot see anyones number. Can someone help me please???????

SYNC ALL IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO OVI SUITE (messages, contacts etc..) (NOT THE COMPLETE BACKUP as single file, *.ubu)
Next:
Did you tried soft reset mentioned above?
after a "fresh" soft reset don't restore backup yet, Go to Contacts , do you see "Options">settings> ? if so try to create a new contacts manually, close Contacts, open again, do you see new created contact in the list?
If yes, that means your phone is still usable
Do soft reset once again, but this time only sync your data with PC, (Don't restore the complete backup).

Nokia 206 contacts search & arrangement problem

I have bought a Nokia206 last week & I am facing a problem with contacts. When I inserted the sim card, it showed all the contacts alphabetically arranged & we can search any of the contacts among all..
But after few minutes the contacts were all shuffled & were not present alphabetically. Moreover, I can't search any of the contacts. Whenever I restart my phone, the contacts are rearranged automatically for few minutes, but later on the same problem arises.
I reported this problem to Nokia Care in my city(Jalandhar) & they installed a New Software in my Nokia206, but the problem is still there in the phone. All the contacts are present without any order & I can't search any of the contacts from them.
I request you to tell me a permanent solution regarding this problem as soon as possible.

Last week a new SW version appeared for a short time on the Nokia Server...Then Nokia withdrew it with no explanation.

One of the first question that was asked when this new SW appeared was.."Has the search function been improved?"
The answer was.."no change!"
One might hope that when the new SW is release it will address this weakness.
I have to admit that I do not know whether the obvious shotcomings in the "search facities" is a resultof Symbian s 60.3 short coming or Nokia SW design..or a combination of the two.
Nokia produced this application but in my opinion it only helps a bit and is not a full solution.

Hi im facing a problem with my nokia N95 8gb. the problem is Contact list related.
such as
I have stored a number is like 01920803355 in my contact list.and the number has saved as "Enderson". But if i dialed a number like 01930803355 then its show Enderson during calling/Incoming.though the number 01930803355 has not saved in my phone/sim at all. I thing its a number/name filtering bug for N95 8gb. beacuse here in this two numbers 10 digit same and only one digit is different. but the phone does not recoginize.

it is actually a feature more than a problem ... and this is not limited to N95 8GB ... I think almost all nokia phones will have the same problem .. Nokia phones compare the last 7 digits of a number and ignore the first digits ... so if there is two different numbers that have the same last 7 digits, your phone will assume it is the same number... I think the idea behind this feature is to ignore the international code so if you dial a number with or without the international code it will be the same name ...
but in your case, you suffered from the over-smart of this feature

View middle name in contact list, nokia asha 302

Hello everyone.
I have a problem. I have a big contact list and there are contacts with middle names. But I can't understand how can I see contact's middle name in my Nokia Asha 302 contact list.

Does anybody know, is it possible to view middle names in contact list? I don't want to edit all middle names by concatinating first and middle name.

On certain devices (especially S40 such as the Nokia Asha 302) the 'Middle Name' Field may not be possible. It may not be available under 'Add Details' too ...

Nokia 6280 failure restoring contact list using pc...

Hello,
I own a Nokia 6280. Firmware - v3.81
OS: Win XP.
I took the phone to my local phone provider(partner orange, from which I bought the device) to update the phones version. This action has deleted my entire contact list.
Beforehand I made a backup using the pc suite back up feature, and the backup went smoothly. Now, when I try to restore my info using the restore function in the backup(content copier),it restores everything except the contact list. Somewhat in the middle of the resotration of the contact list, an error jumps saying the connection to the phone has been list. A few seconds later the connection restores automatically.
I tried solving the problem using this thread:

But it didnt quite work
What can I do to solve this problem? How can I restore my contacts?
And if not, Is there a way to convert the Backup NBU file into Outlook VCF format?

except notepad can't disipher the the names into english, and so cant hexedit's of their sort.

I tried to recover the phone as soon as I recieved it from the phone provider with the new v3.81. That is , the manufacturer's settings were the default. Unfortunantly that didn't work.

Nokia 5800 - the contact list doubles in size by d...

I own a Nokia 5800,
After updating firware from v11 to v20,
i started facing a weird problem.
from the home screen when i press the contacts button, the contact list comes up as expected,
but after about half a sec, all the contacts gets doubled( i.e. 2 copies of each contacts exist).
It doesnt happen everytime, but once it happens the only solution i found was to delete all the contacts, and copy them back from the memory card which i had backed up.
and in the options->settings, i have set it to display contacts only from "phone memory",
and not from "sim memory" and "service nums".. so problem is not with displaying contacts from 2 sources.
Also i have abt 420 contacts, so the sim cant hold these many( limits to 127 contacts).. so its not coming from my sim.
my 420 contacts is becoming 840 contacts.
Additional info:
If i delete one copy of the contact, both the copies gets deleted.
and also when a contacts makes a call to my phone, her name appears..( This doesnt happen if the same number exists more than once in the list)
Any1 has any solution to this problem or any idea as to why its happening??

21.0.025 firmware is available only in specific countries.( My country is INDIA)
i used tat wireless update feature to updgrade from 20.0.012 to 21.0.025.
(press *#0000# , u'll get some screen with s/w info, then goto options > then select check for updates.)
U'll need wifi / gprs for tat.
or u can give ur fone to nokia care and ask them to update it to the latest firmware availbale.
