Nokia E50 Keys problems

Hi,
I guess that this could be a software issue because sometimes the keys "4" and "6" don't work anymore. This malfunction can persist for one or two days, but sometimes only few hours. Nothing happens when restarting the phone or removing the battery. The firmeware version is 07.36.0.0 RM-170.

i bought e50 2 weeks ago, and the sim worked fine till now on different phones, so?another sim i cant try, it is something that happens aleator, and if i'm waiting for a call from somebody i'm shaking, is not ringing because no one call me or is not ringing because it doesnt work ????.....

Nokia E50 wallpaper problem

I just can't make wallpaper to show over the whole screen. No matter which resolution I use, I got a small picture in the middle of the screen. I started with 240 x 320, than tried larger resolutions, but it is all the same. The only way is to apply the whole theme, but what if I like particular picture?
Any ideas?

Nokia E50 problem

Since yesterday I've been having a strange problem with my Nokia E50. The problem is as follows:
When an SMS message arrives, I don't hear any sound (even though it is set in the profile). In addition the "1 new message" prompt does not appear on the screen. The only thing that warns of a new message is the blinking light on the keyboard.
This problem happened to me twice. The first time, I had to load the latest version of the Nokia E50 software. It fixed the issue for half a year. Now the same problem happened again. Is something wrong with my phone?

Have the same problem with a N73. It seems that the phones branded by a certain network do not receive FW upgrades because the original software is modified to suit that perticular network requirements.

E50 Echo Problem & No Help From Nokia Turkey

Hi,
I'm using Nokia E50 for two months. Whenever I have a call (in or out) am receiving the same complaint from the other side of the line : The guy who is talking with me always hearing his/her own voice during the call. Echo issue.
I've called the Nokia Turkey Call Center they told me that they've never been advised a case for the ECHO problem !!! Apparently they don't even hear the Google since there is hundreds of similar case !!!
I took the phone to the official Nokia Repair Shop they've just checked the software and the patches and all of them were fully updated. Unfortunately they don' have any idea what's going on.
Appreciate if anyone help me out about the issue, otherwise I'm going to give back to phone since it's still within legal warranty period.

We have seen the same problem with 2 E50s my company has just bought. I thought it was the new BT car kit that people were complaining about until I called my colleague with the new phone for the first time and we got DOUBLE ECHO!!!
The latest firmware does not seem to fix this problem as of Jan 07. Have tried adjusting the volume down to no avail, so no other suggestions, but rest assured you are not alone.

You have to remember another important thing - this is not just the 5800, the business orientated E90 has the same problem in recent firmware which wasn't there in the original firmware. I don't really think your argument about it not being a business centric phone applies either, Nokia have already given the 5800 the standard S60 client so clearly they've decided that despite it being music-centric, it should still have a mail client. And this is a bug, not a feature - it's quite simply stupid to only allow the phone to download every mail, it would make far more sense to be able to use the limit system they have in place, only download new mail or to allow the auto-update portion (which has the limit) to connect to the mailbox automatically. The current system is actually more complex than either of those as it actually goes and downloads everything, unfortunately it's an undesirable 'feature' as the phone simply cannot do it as it will keep downloading until it actually kills itself.

Weird problem with my Nokia E50

Hi guys!
I don't know whether this topic has been discussed before but I have a very weird problem with my Nokia E50. The problem is as follows: whenever I receive an sms message my phone remains silent (no vibration or sound) even though vibration is turned on and the sms sound is chosen, the phone is at full volume too
I've tried changing the profiles from General to Outdoor but the only sound I get is from keypresses
I don't know what went wrong. I'm totally stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated

SOLUTION to NOkia E50 SPeakerphone/Loudpeaker Free...

My Nokia E50 everyday would sometime or other on taking a call, automatically get on the LOUDSPEAKER mode and get frozen or hang. Nothing would let me switch it back. I would have to remove the battery only.
Well the speaker phone bug I seemed to fix a while back. I hope it works for you too !
I was pulling my hair out trying different things to stop it from hanging on the loudspeaker mode automatically on taking a call !
I tried everything from changing the memory card, using no memory card, updating the firmware ! and also CHANGING the phone to another E50. But the problem was always there... Until...
I just did...
I changed the RINGTONE of LINE 1 from the default Ring tone to another ring tone AND also I changed the The ring tone on line 2 to a different one !in other words both LINE 1 and LINE 2 now have Different ring tones and none of them have the Default tone !
Since then my phone behaves properly and no freezing for over a year now 1
So I guess you guys can try it and circulate this info with others too

When using a 4G/LTE enabled phone in countries where 4G/LTE networks are not yet deployed or still under construction, there may be issues with calls, SMS, or data connection. In worst cases the phone SIM may be rejected by the network.

Nokia E50, issues with connecting and managing mes...

I'm using Nokia E50 and Nokia PC Suite for a few years now on. Recently I wanted to do my usual maintenance task: copy all messages to PC and delete them from the phone. Issues start here.
At first I had problems with connecting but finally I manage to do it. After dozens of tries PC Suite finally updated contact list. Then I moved to messages tab. It took a while to download all messages (aprox. 700 in inbox, 600 in sent - I had many more few times before when everything was working ok). I can copy them to PC, but I can't delete them. After selecting message(s), trash icon is grayed out (menu item too). I can read message but can't delete it. Why?
I've downloaded latest version of Ovi to see if that would help. Ovi managed to download contact list (after a loong waiting) but failed to download any message. Messages says that it's trying but after one hour nothing happend.
I'm trying this on 2 different machines (Windows 7 and Windows XP), with cable and blue tooth. Efects are always the same. Phone is connected because I can copy files, but when I'm trying to download messages or do backup, software says phone is not connected or tries to copy data with no luck.
Any hint will be appreciated.

After deleting aprox. 150 messages from Inbox and from Sent, both programs were able to download complete list of messages and PC Suite finally reenabled trash icon.
Seems like too much messages causes those program to fail? And why in the past they were working properly with bigger amount of messages?
Well.. one can say "problem solved" but will reappear again in the future with lots of messages. I need to remember to grab them from the phone more frequent.

Error update Nokia E50-2

Hello from Russia. Update version (7.13.0.0), software (hereafter PA) of the Nokia E50 (without camera) - error occurred - printskrin -. Phone is not included - stopped working. When you upgrade lost contact phone - a computer (because of cable included). Once a phone is disconnected battery. Please help with my further actions, and explain what happened, the cause of the error? Which way out of the current problems can be, whether in the same way pereobnovit over the phone? By the way, the computer does not find a phone and phone not included.

Nokia E50 Speaker Phone Audible Beep

On the Nokia E50 there are a couple of things that I was wondering if anyone has learned how to tackle. First, when switching to Speaker Phone, is there any way to keep it from making the audible beep when you press the Speakerphone button?
This is problematic for me for two reasons: First, when you dial voice mail, you have to wait until the mobile carrier's voice mail system answers to switch to Speakerphone...but when you do, that audible beep that the E50 makes when activating the speakerphone causes my phone provider's voice mail system, Cingular, to go back to the "main menu" instead of just going into the first recorded voice mail message as it should. In other words, the sound that the E50 makes is being heard on the other end by the mobile carrier's system and is responding to it by sending me back to the main menu.
Second, people can hear the audible beep when you switch to Speakerphone. So, they know when I put them on speakerphone, which always causes an interruption in the conversation. I would love to be able to make that noise go away. IS THERE A WAY TO DO THIS?
The other thing that bothers me is that when I get one voice mail, the phone displays, "New Message." When I get a second voice mail, the phone displays "3 messages." Three messages, it displays "6 messages." When it gets to nine actual messages on Cingular's voice mail system, my phone displays "72 messages." Any ideas on what is going on or how to resolve that problem?

If they replaced the mic and now it isn´t working properly, you should go back there and make them fix it. At least that´s what I would do...

Nokia E50 Hangs On Call Receive !

My friend and I bought 2 nokia E50 Handsets and face the same problem.
Atleast once in 3 days when I receive a call with the Green button, the loudpspeaker gets actiavted on its on and then the handset hangs. No pressing of any buton will help and I am compelled to remove the battery and restart the cell phone.
So I decided to use the Nokia Software (firmware) updater so I could re-install the software.
But the nokia updater only says that there is no later version thatthe current one. Sure there must be some way of installing the software again even though we still have the latest version. How is that done ? is ther an code we can use to reformat the handset and then use the nokia updater to install it ? Please reply.

Bethri, i know the "loudspeaker-broadcast-the-conversation" as you call it is **bleep**py. But it's really not fair to compare Symbian to Nokia series 30 software. It's comparing a smartphone to a regular phone. Sure is much slower and ehhhhhhh well....... you're right! Sorry Nokia. You guys just did a poor job on this one. Just downloading a new version of PC Suite 6.84 from site of Nokia. I haved the same problem with connectivity Phone - > PC: "error" - when installing this application from CD at Box of Nokia E50. And, when I'm installing this application from WEB - everything is O'K! Everything working properly! Just try.

E50 connection problem

I purchased Nokia e50 recently, when i try to connect to PC I could not get the connection.It say no phone is connected.
I use WinXP service pak 2 as my os for my Laptop. I use data cable provided with e50. when i check the drivers software after connection no problem is shown in device Manager from PC. I tried all i could but could not get connected. Can anybody help me please

I have the same problem. I installed "Nokia PC Suite" from CD, then the last version from nokia web site. Result is same. NO CONNECTION VIA USB CABLE. I think that "cable connectivity drivers" installed with PC Suite have problems to recognize device, because everytime i connect my nokia e50 phone to pc via USB cable, windows OS says "USB Device Not Recognized".And of course no connection.

Yes, the Nokia HS-2R FM Radio Headset works with NOKIA E50 very well. I bought one for my E50 phone and I am satisfied.

I've got an E50 and CK-7W as well. I'll admit I'm rather disappointed that the functionality of the E50 with the CK-7W is inferior to that of my old 6230i with the CK-7W. Given that voice dialing worked with the 6230i when in the cradle, I can see no physical reason why it should not work with the E50 in a cradle - voice dialing works fine when using the kit in the bluetooth profile with the phone not in the cradle.
This is presumably a software issue and not a hardware one. I upgraded the firmware to V 06.41.3.0 which is the current release but it failed to fix this "problem".
With a bit of luck this is something Nokia have on their to do list!

7373 key problems

Hi - my 3-month old 7373 has suddenly developed key problems - for example, the "back" key doesn't work at all, and the * key brings up the volume control! This started without me doing anything unpleasant to the phone - any suggestions?

You need to visit a nokia care point to get it fixed under warranty.
