I have a Nokia E50 with last firmware (7.36.0.0). There is the birthday notification in calendar ??????????
In case with Nokia 7210 supernova, they little worked (before reboot). On Nokia E50 - NOT WORKING!

You have to remember another important thing - this is not just the 5800, the business orientated E90 has the same problem in recent firmware which wasn't there in the original firmware. I don't really think your argument about it not being a business centric phone applies either, Nokia have already given the 5800 the standard S60 client so clearly they've decided that despite it being music-centric, it should still have a mail client. And this is a bug, not a feature - it's quite simply stupid to only allow the phone to download every mail, it would make far more sense to be able to use the limit system they have in place, only download new mail or to allow the auto-update portion (which has the limit) to connect to the mailbox automatically. The current system is actually more complex than either of those as it actually goes and downloads everything, unfortunately it's an undesirable 'feature' as the phone simply cannot do it as it will keep downloading until it actually kills itself.

Skype: problems with birthday's alarms

In skype every time it informs me about a birthday of one of my contacts, the application turns off immediately. and i have to reopen it every time, but i can't use the chat with these contacts never again, otherwise it turns off again. I ask help to Skype assistance, but they couldn't help me. any idea?

Same problem.
Skype loads normally apparently.
I can see my contacts, everything looks good.
I then select a contact and click to start a call.
The animation starts as if its calling, but its not ringing.
The other party receives no call either
I press to end the call, no effect
Restart the computer, no effect
I go to end the task, there are 2 instances of skype running
The first one ends the GUI, but my web camera is still active
The second task can not be killed!
If I only kill the one task, loading skype again tells me that I am already logged in with this computer.
The "fix" mentioned about renaming the Skype folders in the appdata and temp directories is only temporary, and requires a reboot anyway.
Microsoft really needs to stop ignoring all these bugs and finally fix them. They keep spitting out new versions of this without first fixing the bugs of the previous versions.
I have similar issues with my Android phone, where I can not make or receive calls, and only receive texts, I can not send. Its getting tiresome.
I think I'm just gonna go with Jitsi to be honest, much more stable than Skype. Never had any problems with it, and you can have multiple video calls without paying. Just got to convice everyone else to do the same.

Nokia 6230 Contacts Sync Problem with Outlook

I have a Nokia 6230 and used to sync my contacts with outlook using PCSYNC. Now I receive a message that sync is completed but only 1 or 2 contacts are copied to the outlook (always the same ones). I have already updated the PC Synch version many times, tried to change configurations on PC Sync and on the phone, created new folders on outlook and sync profiles, cleaned the configuration files on "documents and settings" folder, contacted Nokia phone suport in Brazil, but nothing worked.
I use Windows 2000 SP4 in English, connect through Infrared and have the 6.81.13.0 version of PC Sync (I have already tried many other versions). I'm using Phone memory. When I use PC Sync explorer those same few contacts that are synchronized are the only ones that I can see in the contacts folder.
I think the problem is in some configuration file in Windows environment or I have a problem with the phone set.
Please if anyone could help me I would apreciate. I have lost many hours trying to fix that problem.

Today I searched through the discussions and found many other users with the same problem (Himalaya2050, Marbru, tugrulislier). Almost everybody using Nokia6230 and using international character set, maybe the root cause for the sync problem.
I think Nokia should have a tested fix for that problem.
Was the phone update the solution for other users? Do you have any feedback? I haven't found in the discussions any user with that problem solved.
When I first contact Nokia support in Brazil they told me to do many time consuming procedures (reinstall and update PC sw many times) that didn't worked and didn't make sense for me, as the sync was working with previous version. So I don't want to try another non tested solution, because I will have to go to a tech assistance, wait and probably loose all the information stored on the phone.
I think I will have to exchange my phone ...

New RAM problems with my Dual G4 1.25 MDD

Howdy I've had my Dual G4 1.25 MDD for 2 years and love it. I got it with 1GB RAM, thinking I was set. For Christmas I wanted to Upgrade the RAM to 2GB. from My PowerMac G4 Manual I knew I needed 2x 512MB PC2700 DDR333 CL2.5 SDRAM DIMM's.
I went to DealRam (part of DealMac) and found 18004memory.com The price seemed great $39 per stick. I ordered it and within a week got 2x 512MB DIMM's. Problem was it was the Wrong RAM spec. I tried that RAM in my Mac 30 different ways and Everytime the computer either wouldn't boot, or it would suffer Kernel Protection Faults. One time it did boot up but the RAM only recognized as 2x 256MB DIMM's. I called the company, got an RMA and returned the RAM, this time they sent me 2 replacement DIMM's.... for a POWERBOOK, SO-DIMM's. I returned it again and finally Got from them the
2x 512MB PC2700 DDR333 CL2.5 SDRAM DIMM's. They call it Hyperspeed RAM. Anywho, I powered down let the system cool over night and in the morning, popped it open, put the RAM in the 2 open slots DIMM2/J23 & DIMM3/J20. closed it back up and powered up. Everything was snappier, the boot was quicker and I checked About this Mac, it says 2GB. Apple System Profiler showed all 4 DIMM's and I thought everything was fine.
Computer ran great for hours, no issues. Everything seemed quicker. Computer went to sleep overnight, next day woke from sleep and Tried to use iTunes and during an extensive sort for Songs, the system Locked up. Nothing would work. Had to force restart. this time I tried to Run my favorite online Game, WoW and after it loaded and I started to play, within 5 mins the whole game locked up. The audio sound went into a sort of Loop, I couldnt force quit and had to force reboot. This happened several times. I finally decided to Run the Apple Hardware Test. The Quick test locked up after running 2mins. I let it sit for 1hr just in case it was still doing something and the progress bar and time never progressed. So i forced reboot, ran Test again this time as Extended test. at 8 min & 31 sec the test stopped and I got an Error Code, this time I wrote it down "2MEM/2/4: DIMM3/J20."
I guess that DIMM failed. I shutdown, popped open case, and removed DIMM3/J20 leaving the Original 1GB RAM and One of the 512MB Upgrades. I rstarted the Test again and Ran the Extended Test once more. It ran for 27mins & 24 secs and everything passed. So. 1.5GB is better than just 1GB. I powered down and powered back up to try and play WoW. Within 5 mins of loading game to play, everything locked up again.
So I took both of the new RAM out and left the Original 1GB RAM and ran Test everything was great no Errors. Rebooted, and went onto WoW again and was able to play for several hours. I quit game and shut down for night.
I have since Tried the 2x 512MB DIMM's in over 10 different variations in the computer with and without the original RAM and everytime I run a high end program or game (WoW, iTunes, and Photoshop), I get lock ups, crashes, and other screen weirdness.
I dont want to have to Return the Memory again. I am already out over $15 from s/h with RMA's.
PLEASE Any ideas what to do?
1 thing I noticed the RAM gets very very hot, when I've powered down tand removed the new RAM. I wonder if there is a cooling issue?
Anytime I put the Original 1GB RAM in, I dont have problems!

Sounds very much like faulty RAM to me, I'm afraid. I'm not sure about the temperature it's running at, but if the surrounding DIMMs aren't having a problem then I would definitely point the finger at those new memory sticks not being up to scratch.
If you were convinced it was temperature related then you could always try putting heat spreaders on the memory to help with cooling, but as these stick (semi-permanently) to the RAM then you would never be able to return them.
My personal opinion is that you should send the RAM back and buy two new DIMMs from Crucial Technology. I only ever buy RAM made by them and I've never had a problem with it - it's the same stuff Apple themselves generally use and works a charm every time. Probably not the news you wanted to hear, but that's probably the only way you're going to get a stable machine with 2GB RAM.

Nokia Lumia 1520 having problems with Voyager Lege...

I recently purchased Nokia Lumia 1520 and I am having some problems with Plantronics Voyager Legend. Before 1520 I was using HTC Radar 4G with Plantronics Voyager Legend and I don't have any problems. The problems that I am having are, when I am on a call using the Plantronics Voyager Legend the voice of the person will automatically switched between Plantronics Voyager Legend and 1520 through out the entire conversation back and forth. It does read all my text messages without any problems. Another problem is on my HTC Radar 4G once I turn on the Bluetooth under setting Bluetooth stays on even after I reboots the phone. On 1520 after rebooting the phone Bluetooth is off automatically by the Windows 8. Why does it do that? Are there any workaround or fixes for my issues

My Voyager Legend firmware is up to date. This Voyager Legend works with all my others electronics without any problems. Problem with Nokia Lumia 1520 only. I think the problem is 1520 Windows 8 OS. I am waiting on Plantronics to contact me but looks like I am at the bottom of the list. Does anyone know why after rebooting the 1520, Nokia Windows 8 OS automatically turn the Bluetooth off in setting, under Bluetooth everytime?

New air problem with battery after upgrade to 10.6.5

Hi List.
I bought new air about month ago. Everything was working like a charm.
2 days ago I did macos upgrade and I have big problem with battery performance. Only 2 hours of working after full charging. I decided to downgrade system to 10.6.4 and problem's gone.
Is there something wrong with 10.6.5 on new air?

I dont think there is something wrong with 10.6.5 simply because I have no problem with it
Since battery management is one of the SMCs, resetting it may solve the issue.

Nokia 5800 New Profile Problem

Hi,
a problem with my phone software i can't create new profile
when i've got the phone i've created a new profile and after a while i've updated the software
from version 11 to version 20, after update i found that the shortcut button (the one under the front camera above the screen) is not working, so i went to the phone management part and choose "Restore Factory Settings" and then the phone asked me to restart but after restart the newly created profile is removed after restore and each time i choose create new profile nothing happened and after many clicks on create new profile the phone freezes and stop working till i remove the battery, i hope any one help me find solution to the problem why is create profile is not working

... and I reluctantly tried *#7370#, which didn't help. Some here have called that a soft reset, but I think it's a hard reset. The *#7780# is the soft reset. AFAIK, there is no difference between *#7370# and the "vulcan mind meld" button hold-down while booting technique.

Nokia N85, and my problems with the Nokia N96

Hi there,
First of all, i have both phones (after buying the n85, because of issues with the N96), when i go to send a large file from the n96 to the n85 via bluetooth, it wont allow it as it says not enough memory, it seems that you can only send, what free memory your phones internal system has, im deeply confused as the video im sending is over 88mb, and was passed down from my previous nokias without any problems whats so ever, any ideas anybody??????
Secondly i feel a fool, as i bought like i said the n85 because of the problems with the and i quote" flagship model n96".... well, i can honestly say, ive wasted my money, because after installing the newest firmware 11 on it, it has since been running like a dream, albeit like it should have done last month, but i musnt grumble, now i need to decide which one to put on an auction site.
ps the n96 was bought with 3 network, the other from an auction site, both work fantastically well with the 3 network.

Hi, beg to differ, I would sell the 96. The 85 is far better,OLED screen; a battery that lasts for days not hours; FM transmitter for when you are in your mates car who doesn't have a bluetooth radio; it breathes!!! is sleeker and of course it has a lens cover, for crying out loud why didn't they fit one to the 96!

New Behance problem with Lightroom 5.6

I have a problem with Behance and Lightroom 5.6. I have the wrong Adobe CC account linked to Behance and nothing I have done has fixed it. I believe it's a 5.6 bug. I do not have in the Lightroom Publishing Manager Under Behance account the option to log out. I mean it simply is not there not on the screen doesn't exist is invisible to the human eye. You ge the idea. Login is grayed out so it cannot be clicked on. and sign up does opens my browser and lets me sign in to either of my Adobe CC accounts but this does nothing for me. I believe this is simply a bug because I've seen a screen shot of publishing manager screen and in that screen shot it has logout, but now it's gone in 5.6. Is there a work around?

Nokia 5800Xpressmusic problem with IMAP notificati...

Hi everyone,
I've just bought the 5800XM in Hong Kong. Everything seems to work correctly so far except the new email notification. I have set up a 2 gmail account in IMAP mode and for the first one, everytime I active the automatic retrieval every 5min, I have two MAIN anoying issues :
1° it downloads ALL my emails headears (+2200!!!), the processor goes so slow as you can imagine during the first connexion NO POSSIBILITIES TO LIMIT the number of emails downloaded !!
2° After that it connects automaticaly every 5min as set up but these times it doesn't download new emails !!!
For the second account which has only a few emails in it, it retrieves every new emails but WITHOUT NOTIFICATION NO SOUND NO ALERT NOTHING !!! I have done everythings.

Nokia 6500 (slide) and problems with Pc Suite

Survey first:
What version of Windows is being used?
Windows Vista
What Service Pack is installed?
Service Pack 1
What version of PC Suite is installed?
7.0.8.2
What is the connection method, cable, bluetooth or IR?
I have both cable and bluetooth. Tried both.
I have a problem connecting my phone to Nokia PC Suite. I know I get the connection because I was able to use update manager to install new updates to my phone. I also tried to reinstall PC Suite and it didn't help.
Here is what happens, I will explain with screenshots. I just connected my phone via bluetooth or cable (doesn't matter - I get same results)

Yet, if I click "Contacts" I get a contacts application with no contacts, while it shows that my nokia is connected. On my phone I have contact on the sim card as well as the phone. I copied them from sim and the in the view option check to hide the sim contacts. I got to at least show the ones that are on the phne, but it shows nothing:

I also don't see anything in "Nokia Phone Browser" when I enter it through "My Computer"

Just uninstalled the old version, downloaded and installed the latest version and I still have problems.
I just noticed though that "Phone selector" sees both connections USB and Bluetooth and give me a choice which on to go with, but I can't high light ether one to go to a next page...

New Amazon Problems with Safari 2.0.2

There is a problem I discovered tonight on Amazon.com that seems to be affecting Safari. This problem is new and has been introduced in the last week or two. When you look for a music CD, the page should show the individual disc and price and then have a secton below called "Better Together" that shows two discs and a "Buy Both" button. In Safari, the individual disc information, price and artwork no longer shows and the only option is to buy both. If I open the same page in Firefox, both sections display correctly. For example, do a search on No Doubt, "Return of Saturn". Look at the page in Safari and then do the same search in Firefox. You'll see the Safari page is missing the top section. Not sure what Amazon is doing but this is new. Makes it tough to download cover art. Maybe that's the idea.
G4 PowerBook 17 Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Good suggestions, unfortunately, none seemed to help. I went to a different user account (I too keep one around for testing) and same thing happened there. I also disabled JavaScript and Java and no difference. When I go to books and movies, everything looks fine. No trouble there and everything seems to display correctly. The only problem is with CD's.
The good news is I think I found the fix. I had previously cleaned out my Amazon cookies which didn't seem to help so in my test user account, I reset Safari which cleared out all the cookies. When I tried it again, the page displayed correctly. I went back and reviewed the new cookies Amazon created and found those same cookies in my regular user account. Once deleted, everything appears to work normally. There were two sets of cookies on my machine. One set were .amazon and the others were www.amazon. It looks like the .amazon cookies were the culprits.
My guess is that they've changed something recently because I've been downloading a lot of art work over the past several weeks. For whatever reason, that conflicted with a cookie setting. You might not have experienced it because your cookies were newer/older and therefore you had the right settings. Who knows...just a guess.

Problem with Birthday contact in year 1982 January

I found a problem that seem to be a bug for iphone IOS 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2 and event 4.2.1
when i try to add a birthday for a contacts for Year 1982 January, the date cannot be set. and it is stuck with 1 January 1982.

New printing problem with InDesign CS4

After having great success with Aisolve's earlier fix on printing from InDesign CS4 after upgrading to Lion, I'm having a new problems after installing the OS X 10.7.2 upgrade last week. When I try to print from InDesign CS4 and Illustrator CS4 to my Lanier 445c/Ricoh C4500 at my workplace I get the following error message:
"Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem."
This seems like a different issue this time, as I'm able to print to my home printers, an HP LasertJet 2600n and an HP Photosmart C4270. I thought it might be a printer driver problems, but I've gone to Lanier's site and they don't have any new printer drivers for Mac OS X 10.7.
I also some research on Adobe's site, and found this message affecting CS1, 2 & 3. I tried the only fix that seemed to apply to me, which was re-naming/deleting the InDesign Deafults and InDesign SavedData files. (I have this problems even when I'm printing a text-only file without any graphics.) This fix didn't work.
I can print to the Lanier/Ricoh from Acrobat 9, and all my non-Adobe software just fine, so my work-around to date has been exporting to PDF and printing from there. My big problem is that I need the "Print Booklet" feature in InDesign for a big job I've got coming up this week. Can't do that from Acrobat. :-(
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wanted to let folks reading this know that I spoke with an Apple tech person and found that the 10.7.2 upgrade apparently is the culprit, and is incompatible with wireless printing to my Lanier printer. I CAN print connected through USB. That's a work-around for now, but I'll need to contact Lanier about upgrading their driver
for OS X 10.7.2.
Aisolve over on the Adobe board was also helpful in advising me that if I was able to generate a postscript file (which I was), and able to generate a PDF by distlling it through Adobe Distiller (which I am), then I can safely assume that the problem lies with the hardware, in this case the printer driver. This lines up with what Apple told me.

Nokia 5800 Updated Firmware - Problems with Alarms

I have just updated to Custom Version 40.0.005.C01.01 and have a similar problem to other owners.
When my phone is locked and a reminder comes on, linked to the Calendar, I have no way of Stopping the alarm.
I have tried removing the battery, as suggested for other problems, but that doesn't work.
Any advice welcome
