Nokia E52 google calendar sync mail for exchange b...

Since I upgraded my Nokia to the latest firmware, I always get a blank screen after selecting mail for exchange as mail provider (necessary to sync my google calendar with the calendar in the phone).  Sync of the calendar worked fine before.
I think i tried all previously posted solutions (restore factory settings, disconnect from WiFi, start with incorrect email adress, ...).  IMAP malibox to read gmail mails works fine.
Any ideas?

just got an update yesterday, i can syncronice mail, calendar and contacts (i use hotmail)
before i had to check only contacts and calendar. the mails i had to checked via hotmail aplication. now i can doi all in one.

  • Manual Sync Mail for exchange in One tap

    Hi All
Just replaced my CEO s Iphone with a N97
She doesnt want to have auto sync - to save the battery draining out
So I have set up manula sync, the way it is now she has to tap 4 times to get it to sync.. (home page - messaging - mail for exchange - options - syncronise email) that count up to 5 taps....
she had an Iphone earlier, where she select mail from home page and while taking her to inbox does a manual sync without having to ask the phone (or tap 4 times)
is there a workaround for this?
i have tried putting Mail for Exchange on home page - still three taps (MFE - Options - Sync)
    many thanks

  • E52 - Can't upgrade Mail For Exchange to v. 3?

    Hi there.
Got an E52 and syncing with Exchange with the built in client which is v.2.
I saw v.3 out since March this year and I can't upgrade. I really wanted to upgrade as subfolders in v.2 aren't handled properly, ie I have to go into them to check if there's a new mail etc.
    Any one have a clue?
    Simon
    N8 User.

    Hi,
E52 comes with MfE, but it's not the same MfE client which can be downloaded and installed on e.g. other S60 3rd and 5th edition devices. MfE will be automatically updated when you update your phone SW to latest version.
With the latest E52 SW version (at least 034.001) it should be able to synchronize also subfolders.
I'm working at Nokia, but all my posts represent my own views and these should not be mixed up with Official NOKIA statements.

  • No email body in mail for exchange? Nokia E52

On my Nokia E52 i have setup mail for exchange access to gmail, but all it seems to download is the header with who its from and the subject? There isnt any mention of the email body/message at all?
My contacts and calendar all sync properly.
Am i missing something?  On my ipod touch it downloads the messages using the exact same account

Curious issue, on the 22nd January 2010, I also got a system message stating ‘Mail for Exchange – Your account does not have permission to synchronise with your current settings.'  then a further message saying that the phone required a locking password etc.  This resulted in the phone being locked before it could be opened.
I'm sure nothing changed on the local mail servers, so I wonder what has changed on the Mail For Excange settings?

  • Mail for Exchange outlook not syncing all calendar...

    Hi,
Nokia E6 Anna using mail for exchange to sync outlook.com/hotmail calendar. Recently switched phone so would like my entire outlook.com calendar to appear on E6.
I added mail for exchange hotmail account to phone selecting email, calendar and contacts. However only recurring calendar entries sync. Old single appointments do not sync/appear on the E6. Why is that ?
Are there any specific calendar settings for mail for exchange ? Mail for exchange/settings has no mention of calendar.
I use hotmail connector to sync desktop outlook 2010 and outlook.com. Syncing calendar in nokia suite results in duplicate 'Mail for Exchange' calendars so no good.
If known issue that's OK. A solution would be good.
    thanks,

    I have solved this myself.

  • Calendar sync problem with Mail for Exchange

I have troubles syncing my calendar with Mail for Exchange.
I've configured MfE the same way I did on my N8-00 and it worked perfectly there. On my new N9 it just syncs Mail and the ToDo list of from the Exchange Server. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong?
Also, when I remove my MfE settings, the Calendars still are in the Calendar App. How can I delete them?

    Hi,
There could be some problem with the contact sync, because you had synched with MFE . Remove the existing sync for Mail for exchange and then try creating a new sync and then check, That should maybe solve the issue.
I had mfe configured and then removed and now then i sync with the Address book and Ical. Seems to be working fine for me, just that i use a N95.
Hopefully it fixes, let me know the outcome.
    Cheers

  • Mail for Exchange on E52

After getting back my E52 from warrantial service Mail for Exchange is missing from the device. The official answer was they always have to upload the existing latest sw and unfortunately it doesn't contain MfE so I have to wait either for the even newer version or until MfE will be on 'http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/mail-for-exchange/compatibility-a...'.
Is someone struggling with the same problem and got more information about that?
My other disappointment is the thin plastic frame: it's wobbling and rasping downside, around the buttons, even after warrantial replace!
If you can give me info about any of these subjects, please don't hesitate to do it!
    Many thanks in advance,
    Balazs

For some reasson my phone also stopped syncing.
I found out, that the sync settings was reset. I think it happened during a sync where no connection was available.
I solved the issue by updating firmware
reentering "Sync What" og "Sync When"
Remender to go in to advanced settings and choose connection (Internet or wap)

  • E75 Mail for Exchange - absolutely useless

    Hi all,
This is a rant, a big one.
I have been a loyal Nokia user since I was 18 (I'm in my mid 30's now). The nature of my work denoted that it was time to get myself a 'push-mail' phone so when my contract was up with Optus. I opted for the E75. I contemplated a Blackberry (as this is what most of my colleagues use) but being a loyal Nokia user and comfortable with their menus, I thought I would try this new phone. After all, there had been a massive advertising blitz throughout the Australian print media, online and television spruiking the qualities of this phone, specifically it being an "email on your mobile" type of handset. This was about a month and a half ago.
As our IT guy at work was on leave I set the E75 up with my gmail account (and just set work email on autoforward to gmail). It worked like a dream for about three days when it suddenly dropped out. The following day email worked fine ...then dropped out ....then worked fine ...then dropped out for two days. This pattern continued for a week (despite my reconfiguring the settings in-line with advice from both Nokia and Optus technicians AND performing hard resets). In short, the 'email' software on the E75 just plain DOES NOT WORK.
I returned the handset to the store where I got it from and they exchanged it for a new E75. Exactly the same problems as before. I experimented with setting it up with different types of email (hotmail, yahoo, work etc) and the same thing happened. Email would work fine and dandy for a couple of days then it would drop out for half a day or more. The nature of my work denotes that if I put my email address out there and tell colleagues they can get me on my phone, then my phone better work. As such, I stopped giving people the expectation that they could email me on my mobile and to simply call me or SMS me if they needed me.
I have now sought to have this handset returned and am trying to switch my contract over to a Blackberry. The guys at the store where I contracted with Optus have been pretty helpful as they themselves have had numerous problems with the E75 and angry customers. The Optus business managers themselves are apparently refusing to budge on this and as of this afternoon were saying they would not offer me an exchange (even if it meant I would contract for a more expensive phone, ie more money for them).
As such, I am considering my options.
*To lodge a complaint through a dispute resolution/consumer protection body like the NSW Dept of Fair Trading.
Ifyou have been supplied with a faulty product, this body investigates the situation persuant to the NSW Fair Trading Act. It is a bit hard to achieve an actual resolution for yourself here, you simply make a lot of trouble for the other side.
*To file a claim in the NSW Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal.
Decisions here are binding. You would argue that you've been sold a dud product, the faults are easily demonstrable (google E75 email faults and your system will nearly crash due to all the results that come up). This is probably the best option for people without legal representation. It is quite an informal affair and 'equity' prevails usually.
*To file a claim in the NSW District Court against Optus for breach of contract.
I contracted for "email on my mobile" I didn't get that - there's a breach of a fundamental term. Basic common law contract law. There are no exclusion clauses or disclaimers that can negate such a fundamental breach. Nokia's extensive advertising and branding of this handset as an 'email phone' denote that if it is not fit for that purpose, then you have a breach of the contract. There's also a number of Fair Trading Act sections that are valid in the fitness for purpose respect.
*To file a claim in the Federal Court against NOKIA for breaching s 71 of the Trade Practices Act
As the Trade Practices Act is a federal act, it may be worth an action directly against the manufacturer on the grounds of 'fitness for purpose'. Nokia advertised this phone as an 'email phone', the numerous discussions here denote that there have been so many faults with their email software that the phone is clearly not fit for the purpose of being an email phone, certainly not when it only works half the time.
*To file a claim in the Federal Court against NOKIA for breaching s 52 of the Trade Practices Act
Here we are talking about 'Misleading and Deceptive Conduct'. On other discussion threads dealing with the E75 email faults, some users from Europe have reprinted responses they received from Nokia technicians where they were blatantly told that the E75 is "not a mail for exchange" phone and that faults are to be expected as the software is still in development. Per the ambit of s 52, this is clearly conduct that is LIKELY to mislead or decieve especially when viewed in the light that Nokia have promoted this phone as "email on your mobile" (implying solid reliability) not "email on your mobile half the time cos it only works sparingly because we haven't nutted out the software yet."
That last one is a biggie. IF Nokia were still developing their mail for exchange software and they knew it had bugs and was not reliable (certainly not for business use) then they should not have misled consumers into believing that this phone was the "Blackberry Killer". Their advertisements on the back page of Sydney's 'Good Weekend' certainly fooled me into thinking it was. Of course, people say that I should simply just cough up another $40 of my own money and download RoadSync so I have a reliable mail for exchange program that actually works. This isn't the point. Nokia have put a very faulty product on the market, there seems to be a lot of disconnect between their marketing of the product and what their technicians say it is capable of. As such, I will be demanding a full and fair exchange of this handset with a Blackberry.
    Bryan.

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do here.
Mail for Exchange - works with Microsoft Exchange Servers only.
It doesn't work with Yahoo! Gmail or any other mail service because its "Mail for EXCHANGE"
"Mail for Exchange is preintegated to Nokia E75, Nokia E72, Nokia E55, Nokia E52, Nokia N86 8MP and Nokia 6710 Navigator"
    Taken from: http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/nokia-for-business/software/email-and-instant-messaging/mail-f...
In fact its more compatible with a pre-installed device such as the E75 than any of the other symbian devices that it will operate with.
The program uses the Microsoft Exchange Activesync service to push mail to your handset, this needs to be set up correctly by your companies IT department with the correct heartbeat intervals etc.
I have MfE working fine on my E71, whilst its not the same device the software works well and the push mail function is great.
I have had one or two problems, that the latest version of MfE has exhibited but there is a big thread here /discussions/board/message?board.id=messaging&thread.id=13370
Which details some problems and resolutions.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

  • N8 Mail for Exchange (can not send mails)

    Hi guys,
I just got my new Nokia N8. I already setup Mail for Exchange via IMAP to sync the mails, contacts and the calendar of my private mailbox.
Everything runs alright. But I can not send mails via Mail for Exchange. If I push on "New Mail" the program say the command can not be executed and breaks down.
Does someone know how to fix that problem?
     Thanks from Liechtenstein.
    Phil

    Hi,
I also had problems with unable to send emails.
I was getting error messages in the Mail for Exchange (MfE) log files such as
Setting DISK FULL status to false
Error occurred during sending mail. Setting status to waiting for reconnect
    HTTP failure while sending messages.
I figured out a work around. The problem seemed to be with the certificate.
I ended up deleting the certificate and then only selecting "Accept this time only" which made everything work.
    I am using a Nokia 5800.
    To delete a certificate goto
Setting > Phone > Phone mgmt > Security > Certificate Management > Trusted site certificates
find the offending certificate and delete it.
The next time I tried to synchronize my emails with Mail for Exchange, I was asked to select whether to accept the certificate... press the option button.
Then select "accept this time only".
After doing that, the emails in the outbox were sent properly.
I have to figure out how to get this to work permanently, but for the moment it was a quick fix.
[I hope this helps. I tried to be as descriptive as possible and write with correct spelling so that search engines will collect it.]

  • E65 - Mail for Exchange ERROR

I've lots of problems and questions about Mail for Exchange.
    My phone is a Nokia E65 (Symbian S60 v3.0).
I’ve download Mail for Exchange from OVI and add my Hotmail account.
(Microsoft finally opens the Push for all!)
After download, installed and setup, Mail for Exchange always said to me:
“Sync failed, Contact your administrator if the problem persist”…
Ok, I try again and again, but always the same message…
I went to the journal and here is what I read:
    “System error, try again later.”…
    But all is perfectly synchronized!
Mails ok, Address Book ok, Task ok... Etc…
So, why have I all the time this message??
I’ve try to understand alone, and I saw that the version of “Mail for Exchange” was the 3.0.50.
I told that there’s maybe an update!
I went to the website of “Mail for Exchange” (http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/mail-for-exchange/faq-for-mail-for-exchange) and I saw all the versions:
    - Mail for Exchange 3.0.73 for S60 v5
    - Mail for Exchange 3.0.73 for S60 v3.1
    - Mail for Exchange 3.0.50 for S60 v3.0
Why for S60 v3.0 only, the last version is 3.0.50? Where is the 3.0.73?
I attempted to communicate with Microsoft by mail, to be sure that all the settings was correct…
And all the settings were correct!
I attempted to launch an update for the program, but noting to check an update…
    I attempted to install “Mail for Exchange” 3.0.73 for S60 v3.1 on my S60 v3.0 but impossible…
    HELP!

    Hello All,
@ Work we have a number of Nokia E71's which will need the lastest Version of MFE installed (version 3.0).
Problem is as far as I can see, it can only be downloaded via OVI on the device?
Please tell me there is an alternative? I do not want to have to install OVI on each device, login with a generic account. Download/install MFE and then uninstall OVI !!!
