Nokia e55 problem

I bought my nokia e55 from nokia flagship store in London last month.
After about three days woke up day and the phone was dead, would not charge, power on or sync with the pc. (no extra software installed)
sent the phone back, got another one.
after 3 days, froze in my hand, powered off, restarted and keeps rebooting but powering off after 2 seconds and the gives up after a few times.
sent the phone back and not sure if i should ask for another replacement, or take the Nokia e52 or wait for the Nokia e72.
if itake a replacement, is there an update comming out to fix the "dying issue"?
any other Nokia S60 handset you would recomend that has a 600 MHz processor?

hello Mate. I would NOT recommend the E 52. I have one and albeit it's behavior is not quite as bad as what you are experiencing, there have been a lot of rebooting issues. These two phones are not quite ready for prime time. I suggest you wait for the E 72.

  • Nokia E55 - Problem with "mobiTracker"

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem with my E55. Recently I installed the some app on my device.
The name is mobiTracker. At first it was everything ok, but when I decide to remove this app.
It was impossible, I try also thru computer, but the same thing. I got the message "Cancel installation". Mainly, the problem is that this app constantly is trying to connect on internet. When I receive the SMS, automatically start on.
DO ANYONE HAS THIS PROBLEM, AND HOW TO REMOVE THIS  FROM THE PHONE.
    Thanks

Although you would need to backup essential data first, you could always reset device by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user).

  • Nokia E55 receiving calls problem.

    Hi all,
My Nokia E55 phone automatically refuses calls coming from unknown and non contact  numbers. I loose lots of calls during the day.I  have never installed any application on the phone besides the ones preinstall from nokia. I asked to the operator but they said the problem is your own mobile phone not the carrier problem. Please someone tell me where the problem is or what's going on with my Nokia E55 mobile.
    Thanks in advance

  • Nokia E55 internet call setting

I recently bought a Nokia E55 with great hope, and did the SIP VOIP setting, and registered to the provider Jumblo.
I tried to call a friend of mine via internet but I couldn't. There was not the internet call option to be choosen. The instruction on setting the internet call in the manual is misleading. Does the software (2.1) of E55 contain the internet call option?
I'm hoping to get a quick answer from some guru to solve the problem.

  • Nokia 820 problems

Just bought two Nokia 820s, one for my wife and one for myself. Awesome phones except for a couple of issues. First, the GPS and Nokia Here Maps. When I am at home the maps show me in the right spot but reports (showing the address) that I am 3 houses down the street. When I am at work, the phone shows my position correctly but reports that I am in the Elementary School across the street. Hmmmm. gMaps does not have this problem and seems to have more detailed maps about my city and roadways. So it is a Nokia software problem? I like the Here functionality better, but the accuracy and detail are missing compared to other map services so I have to keep more than one app on my phone, using precious space. Second, I would really like to be able to sync my phone calendar with my google calendar and tasks. Right now I have to use third party apps so I have more than one calendar app (I prefer to use the one on my phone with live tiles!!!!) and more than one task app, etc... and more than one travel app. Also it would be nice to separate the people I want in my phone book from the people I have on social accounts (I will NEVER be calling most of the people on my facebook account, but there are people I call on a regular basis and I hate scrolling through or having to search a gajillion people to find who or what business I am looking for) and still have them listed, just seperately.
Thanks for listening and I sincerely hope these issues can be addressed.
    chris

Were you running gMaps on the same phone? If so then that would suggest the innacuracy in probably in the mapping data. This being the case, you should report the error to the map data provider using the link below.

With regards to synching with google, this service was stopped by google .

Some devices may need to have their software reset in order to see the latest benefits, or to resolve other potential problems. - Ensure you have the latest version of Nokia PC Suite. - Backup your device memory to your PC using Nokia PC Suite - Copy your files (music, videos, documents, images etc) from the Nokia N91 hard drive to your PC (use of USB mass storage recommended). - Copy any original SISX, Java, etc. installation files for your applications, themes, etc. from your Nokia N91 hard drive or memory card to your PC. (Do not simply copy over the installed directories/files.) - If your device has an internal hard drive, format your Nokia device’s hard drive by selecting Tools > Hard drive > Options > Format hard drive > Quick format (instructions are also in user the guide). - After the device has completely started up again, reset your device memory by selecting Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > General > Orig. Phone Settings and entering 12345. - Restore your device memory from your PC using Nokia PC Suite by selecting Backup from the PC Suite menu and then selecting Restore. - Copy any hard drive or memory card contents from your memory card or PC back to your clean hard drive or memory card. - Re-install your applications/themes. Nokia 6260 : Problem Message :
    "Start-up Failed. Contatct Retailer"
If Nokia Care fix this problem then can the data be retrieved completely from phone book, wallet etc...?
    Please share your experience....

Unfortunately there is no way you will be able to get the information from your phone saved. In order to have that done the phone must be in working order.
The phone might however still be repairable and if Nokia cannot fix it for you then perhaps you can try a general cellular repair shop. If the problem is hardware related they might be able to fix it with out you losing your data stored on the phone. If they have to reload the firmware then you will loose everything on the phone unfortunately.
Knowledge should be your Advisor when you need help.

  • Nokia E55 - How to remove the battery ?

Hello, I find it very difficult to remove the battery on my Nokia E55.
Am I missing something ? has somebody found a simple way to remove the battery in this kind of phone just with hands ?
    Thank you very much
    A.

I was searching for a method and while reading this I suddenly found a easier way.
While removing the back panel, go all the way after unlocking the latch almost flipping the whole back panel. This nudges the top left corner of the battery out of its slot.
    Hope it helps.

  • Nokia E55:: Switch between the 2 writing languages

    Hi,
Does anyone know how you can switch between the primary and secondary writing language while writing text on the Nokia E55?
The manual does not state something...

can you see a flag on the top right corner if you click on that you can switch between the keyboards you have installed on your system

  • Nokia e55 mic problem

what should i do?when i am in a call the other person does not hear me.it is a software problem or is a hardware?thnx if i update the new firmware it will this bug repair?

You would appear to need to exclude possible software corruption with your N8 as a cause of this issue.
You could try making a back up with Nokia Suite upon PC and then hard reset the phone, to return to "Out of box" state.
Connect your phone to Nokia Suite and go to Tools > Back up to make the back up. Make sure NOT to tick the Settings box.
Now disconnect the phone from Nokia Suite and enter *#7370# into your phone and default security code 12345, unless you've changed this code yourself.
Once the phone has rebooted, connect the phone to Nokia Suite once more and go to Tools > Restore to restore the back up.
Failing that it could be worth using facility to re-install existing device software within Nokia Suite.

  • Nokia Email Problems and Version 10?

    Hi All Nokia People
I have an E66 supplied by Vodafone UK.
I run Nokia email which has been working fine up until the last couple of months.
It is set to store emails up to 1 month, but recently it deleted all emails within a month and left a lot over a month old.
Then it removed everything, and now after doing a software and reinstalling Nokia Email it will only store 3 days even though it is set to remove older than 1 month.
Also I have seen version 10 for Symbian S60v5 is available, when will this be available for general download and more specifically my E66?

    Hi there.
After dealing with every kind of email problems for about two weeks, I finally solved my issue.
I was carefully watching the imap session logs to understand the problem. I realized all my sessions with my phone was unauthorized. It was stupid and impossible as I imported the server certificate to the phone... But, everything is buggy and possible.
Ok, all my "suddenly stopped connecting", "oh does it support IMAP idle", "nothing is wrong with the great nokia, blame your server", "can't connect email", "does it support imap", "what's wrong with my pop account", "do i have to share my mail password with nokia through email.nokia.com", "what's the difference between native email support and nokia messaging" issues are gone with that.
I deleted the certificate! Since you got it, it doesn't matter whether you delete the mailbox (account) on the phone or not. It stays in the security module of the phone. So, go and delete it first. Then, accept it again on your next connection...
For my E55 device I went to:
Menu -> Control Panel -> Settings -> General -> Security -> Certificate management -> Trusted site certificates
and deleted the certificate for the server I typed for "incoming email server" when I set my account. You'll probably recognize the name of it.
I hope this will help to many out there.

  • Nokia E55 SW update bugs? w/ new SW update ideas

    hello all.
no major bugs with my E55 at all, great phone loving the slim design with all the perks of something like a iphone/brick
Any-who, Ive never had thees problems since i just got the new firmware on the phone, but they are not really a big dead so i would go about fixing them,
i just want to point it out to nokia for their next firmware update. . . list is.. . .
    1) IF i have the music player on and its on pause,  after receiving a call or msg the song will kick on. . . is annoying at best when i come to my phone that's been playing music for hours because i missed a call you know.
2)then screen saver is active the bar with the time and date just jutters about 1mm really fast...i don't care but still if its firmware related im just letting everyone know.
3)the new Ovi maps takes AGES to get a connection, sure its just a phone but the old maps App was a lot quicker, but i do like this one more so i can wait. . i only use it for directions not turn by turn car nav.
well that's all i remember but the big one is number 1 waste of battery IMO.
also a few update ideas a have that would really be great.
    1) music player can show the album name as well as the artist.
    2) the button in the middle of the volume buttons should be a mute button for music or even just  a macros button.
    3) preset EQ should be deletable
4)plunging in a 3.5mm jack shouldn't ask for 3 different options when all are pretty much the same, should be able to set it to one and never again.
    5) when in music player i would live to see a UP command to toggle different EQs (but that's just me as i have to change my EQ for about 6 different head phones/ear-buds/in car/docks lol
thanks all who viewed and read. i hope i have a few ok ideas, and yeah im music crazy on this phone i don't even touch my ipod now-days.
    cheers

Best to contact Nokia with your suggestions .
