Nokia E6 backlit keyboard problem!

With brightness set to minimum and level 2, backlit keyboard doesn't work!
Please fix this big probem asap!

several years ago I wrote a post about the business model E70. I was so **bleep** off. certificates didn't work, vpn had to be configured only with provessional software or manually editing sis files. switching to landscape took forever and the first device update came 6 months after I bought it. Many more problems. Small yet annoying. Out of memory when browsing etc.Of course my post was deleted
When I read this board i see myself here. As far as I can see nothing changed. At least not for the better. By the way that E70 is still in use. I got a new battery from ebay and now my girlfriend is using it as a second phone. I bought her C7 for last christmas. The phone was practically unusable. It hanged so often that most of the time she was unreachable without noticing. It hanged so badly that even the clock was going out of sync. That was perhaps the only nokia i've seen where hardware power button didn't work when it hanged. I sold it 2 months ago for half the price I got it and you can't imagine how happy I was She is now with an android device. A toy, but a working one.
I got myself Nokia E52 when the device hit the market. On day 2 it was returned for repairs because of random reboots. 3 months later i got a refund (yes i know, it's just the way it is around here) and boutht E72. Fortunately I was aware of the problematic navigational button so I tested it first for a week. I must admit this is a perfectly working phone. For some reason it can't connect to the corporate Voip but that's the only problem i got with it. Well the only serious. IT's a fact that i couldn't get working navigation program for almost 8 months. The map for the country I live in was too simple for navigation. Materials and body is a joke compared to E71 but anyways it works. I was planning to get myself something new - E7, N8 but those bit screens are just not my type. So E6 Is my new hope. Of course I'll test / research it a lot before I get it. Sorry guys but that's the story. you spend 600-700$ just to become a beta tester. If you buy the flagman you get updates. If not - you wait for months. You will not get support from Nokia here. I know the brand is in your blood. The same here. Just do a lot of researching before bying a phone. Don't trust the reviews. They are often done measuring basic functions and they never report bugs. Go google for problems. There is the truth . Ah and never buy immediatly after release or even preorder Nokia phone. I guess much time will pass untill Nokia release a completely working device.
Sorry for the offtopic.

  • Late 2013 Retina Macbook Pro - Backlit Keyboard Problems

    Hello!
I've recently been having an issue with my late 2013 rMBP and the backlit keyboard not turning on. When I press the F5 and F6 buttons to increase or decrease the brightness of my keyboard, the keyboard light icon appears on my screen and it shows that it is increasing/decreasing, but my keyboard doesn't actually do anything.
I have checked my keyboard preferences and I have turned off "Adjust Keyboard Brightness in low light", so that can't be the problem. I've restarted my laptop and it's still this way.
Does anyone know why this is happening, if it's common, or if there's a way to fix it?

Try resetting the SMC. If that doesn't work, take it to the Genius Bar. You're under warranty.
You want the section "for a battery you should not remove yourself".

  • Nokia E75; QWERTY Keyboard problem.

    Hello,
recently I bought a Nokia E75. I have been playing around with it working the functions ect and realised that the slide QWERTY keyboard is not calibrated correctly.
Keys like ? when pressed turn out to be :
I have downloaded sogou on my phone to correct most of the keys. While still the second row of blue keys are still incorrect. The rest of the keypad is correct. Is there anyway to fix this?

Yesterday I reflashed my E75 to solve a different problem (OVI map not opening). After this my keyboard behaves as explained by you. However I notice that key sequence for ' ; ' produces '?'. Also if I type '$', I get '&' and am yet to find sequence to produce '$'. I suspect something to do with selection of charcter set while flashing.
    Did you get any solution?

  • Backlit Keyboard Problem

My new MacBook Pro has a problem with the backlighting on the keyboard...the bottom left-hand corner of the keyboard does not light up. It is very dim. I have called Apple Support and they said that I would have to bring it into an Apple Store for the fix. My question is this...would this be a quick fix or something that would take a few weeks?
    Thanks to all that help.

    Hi Michael,
It would be a quick fix probably done in store. Probably all the is wrong is that the adhesive backing of the keyboard is blocking the light. They can open up in store and unblock the lighting. Simple fix.

  • U330 backlit keyboard problem

    Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone can help or has had the same problem, I've had my ideapad U330 touch for about a week now, since the 9th november and the other day i noticed the backlight on the right side of the keyboard behind the enter key, home, end, page up etc is a fair bit dimmer than the rest of the keyboard, im pretty sure it wasnt like that when i first got the laptop. Have one of the LED's gone, or is it faulty? i havent spilt anything on the laptop or anything like that, the laptops in warrenty so i could send it for repair
    thanks

    hi Laura93,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The LED on the keyboard should be fair and not dimmer than the other keys, No software that controls it, So i know this is a hardware issue.
I checked the System maintenance for this model and the Keyboard does not have a breeak down guide to check the LEDs
I suggest calling Lenovo Technical Support for Assistance.

  • Spilled a splash of dark tea on keyboard! Backlit keyboard dim?

    Hello guys!
So I spilled a splash (not the whole cup!) of dark tea on my Macbook keyboard. Afterwards it worked fine and nothing really happened, it didn't shut off or anything. Then I realised that some of the keys were sticky, so I popped them off and cleaned them with alcohol, and now they work like a charm. But last night, I found out that the right side of my keyboard's light is WAY weaker than the left side! And i can't remember if the lacking of light was there before the spill, and i just haven't noticed it (I litterally never use the backlit keyboard) or if the sugar from the tea has destroyed something behind the keyboard? If so, I'm afraid that the sugar will destroy the computer even further! - But I've heard that resetting SMC (don't really know what that is..) will maybe fix the backlit keyboard problem?
I will appreciate any kind of help and tips!

You can try a SMC reset:

  • Backlit keyboard preferences problem

My backlit keyboard preferences aren't working. I have the "Illuminate keyboard in low light conditions" preference unchecked, yet the keyboard's backlight still comes on.
Also, usually, with this preference disabled (no backlight), when pressing one of the backlight keys (F8-F10), the backlight symbol would appear with a circle-slash icon. That's not happening either.
This is likely a problem where I could delete the keyboard preference and start from scratch. But I'm unsure which .plist is the correct one. Some searches through the preferences folder didn't turn up anything obvious.
Has anyone experiences this problem? And/or have some suggestions on how it might be solved?
    Thanks in advance.

i was thinking their was something wrong with my keyboard illumination and then i realized i just had the light turned down. you can turn it up by pressing the key above the 6 key(it is the f6 button but without using the function modifier)

  • Dim Backlit Keyboard HP Pavilion DV6t-7000

The backlit keyboard went dim after having it on for a few hours while working on some projects. I can only see the light if I look underneath the keys.  I have had the lights on for long times before it when dim. I have looked on these forums for any information happening before and found one that mention a proximity sensor that may need to be ajusted, but I looked on my computer and does not have that bit of software.
So I would like to find out is there any way to fix this or would I end up needing to replace the keyboard.
    Thanks.

    Hi Zannh,
    Try the following.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
    Any change?

  • Availability and Fitting of backlit keyboard to Envy DV6 - 7331SA

I've an Envy DV6-7331SA which works just fine.
I'd quite like a backlit keyboard.
Googling around it seems that backlit keyboards are available but
    1. Is this just a simple replacement. I presume the keyboard comes with the backlight cable and there is already a socket for it on the mobo? or what?
    2. I can find various foreign and US keyboards but dont seem to be able to find a UK backlit keyboard.
       - Is this available
       - What is its part No.
       - where can I get one

  • Can I Replace a Keyboard(Non-Backlit) with a Backlit Keyboard in my HP Pavilion 17-e119wm Laptop?

Hey guys, my name is Armando
I bought this laptop back in April -->http://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Anodized-Silver-17.3-Pavilion-17-e119wm-Laptop-PC-with-AMD-A10-5750M-Qu...
cause my old HP laptop had too many problems. Anyway I was wondering if this laptop in the link can change its regular keyboard for a LED backlit keyboard instead cause I usually find my self using it in the dark most of the time and the keyboard gets hard to see in the dark. So I was wondering if you guys would know if it can be upgraded. ( it would be helpful for me playing games on Steam in the night)
    This question was solved.

    Hi
    No Armando.
There is no ZIF connector for it in the board, so basically you've to change the whole motherboard & I don't see any compatible boards with that function.

  • Acer R13 Ghosting and Backlit Keyboard Noise - Return worthy?

Same stupid sound at night. Also cant disable that auto keyboard backlight disabler function, really annoying. Please fix that!Bios 1.09 core i5-5200 120gb ssd FullHD Acer R13 Windows 8.1Acer Aspire R7-371t-55XH

Hi, I bought an earlier R13 (Haswell i5, FHD screen) on sale. Thankfully, with the BIOS update the keyboard typing experience, while not perfect, is more than manageable for me so far. My two issues: 1) Upon setting up, I selected a darker color for the Windows menu background. When I switched to this, I notced a wide, fuzzy rectangular box-shaped area around the inside of the screen that was somewhat lighter in color, and two of the buttons on the screen left a ghost image within this shape while the system continued with setup. Worried about the ghosting issue noted elsewhere in this forum, I tried an image retention test found online and sure enough the checkerboard image stayed visible on the edges of the screen when I switched to grey. It returned to normal operations swiftly after that.  2) I have also experienced the high-pitched whine with the backlit keyboard on maximum. This is not audible on the lower setting or when it's off. It's very quiet, but nonetheless it's still there. Is this a common problem? Are there people out there who HAVE this issue but are okay with it? Given that the device is practically silent otherwise (that fan is darn near whisper level when it IS on), it's a minor but nonetheless present annoyance.
I can still return this unit - *should* I, and what's likely to happen if I don't?
I'm in the middle of evaluating the machine to see if it fits my needs. The form factor is amazing, and comiong from a home and workplace filled with Windows 7 machines Windows 8.1 was much easier to handle than I thought (and with W10 on the horizon I can only imagine it getting better). These two issues are the standouts for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • Error with backlit keyboard

    Hi guys.
I recently have some problems with my Macbook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
The keyboard light is turned off and I can't adjust the light brightness of this because F5 & F6 doesn't work.
I go to System Preferences> Keyboard and I can't find any option about illuminated keyboard, just disappeared of my mac.
I recently installed Lab Trick to see if I can manually use the light settings on the keyboard, but it shows me the following error "Your Macintosh does not seem to have any available backlit keyboard."
I tried resetting SMC, PRAM. But the problem continues.
I haven't opened the mac yet.
There will be some sensor cable disconnected?
Will be necessary to carry warranty?

    Hi,
I have the same Macbook Pro as you, and here is a picture of my Keyboard settings.
I don't know why the bottom part of yours is blank. Maybe you can try this. Check the box for Use all F1, F2, etc. and then use the fn key on your keyboard together with F6 to see if it will bring up the brightness.
Has your System Prefs Keyboard settings always been like this?
