Nokia E63, Phone crashing after specific function ...

Using the smart home dialing of names to search through contacts, I locate a contact (which has both home and telephone numbers). Then I proceed to press the call button on this contact which brings me to a small menu asking whether or not I want to call the mobile number or the telephone number. I then cancel this menu, this is when the phone crashes, specifically then, every time I try it.
It freezes for 5 seconds, before the screen turns off. Another few seconds and the backlight is still off but the nokia logo is showing, another 10 seconds and the backlight turns on and the phone sort of reboots (without the nokia intro).
I'm very curious as to whether this is happening specifically on my phone, or whether it is a general problem for all nokia E63s.. or if it's simply the firmware I'm running (default).
I'm still on my 14day money back garentee, but not for too much longer.

I finally decided to turn this annoyance into an opportunity. After a lot of experimenting I found that my iPad was just fine under 7.1 if I simply restored it as new. I have a lot of time on my hands and I had 1424 apps on my iPad! This is why every attempt to restore took so long.
I decided to restore as new, spend a day restoring the apps I really used. Doing so gave me a quick iPad with only bout a quarter of the storage used.
Granted it was a pain in the arse, but I wrote it off as in the old days when you had to do this with windows 95 just to keep a stable system.
I DO have some data in a few files of the now unused backup but a quick google search finds a couple Mac programs out there that will allow you go extract audio recordings, app data files etc. from the backup. I'll do that someday if I even miss the files I've probably forgotten that are there.
Anyway, there was nothing wrong with my hardware. I think there were just some troublesome setup items that 7.1 didn't like. Once set up as new, the ipad was fine.

Nokia 5800 completely crashed after a failed softw...

Whilst carrying out a software update my computer lost connection with the internet, this turned my phone off, after trying to continue with the update which was un-successful I unplugged my phone from the computer, this resulted in my phone completely crashing? Now when I switch it on it just vibrates for about 20 seconds with nothing on the screen! After it has finished vibrating it is then completely shut down again. I have tried some methods of starting up but to no avail as I'm limited as to what I can do with it as it is touch screen!
Any advice & help would be much appreciated.

I bought a brand new Nokia 5800.... As Nokia site sayings Nokia 5800 can plays music up to 35 hours... But my Nokia 5800 plays only 18 hours... My phone has original battery and latest firmware version... Please let me know about this matter...

Phone crashes after shutting off alarm

Does anyone else have this problem?
After my iPhone alarm goes off, after selecting Snooze or turning the alarm off, my phone crashes. It can crash in one of two ways - the screen turns to all grey and pink stripes, or it goes black and becomes completely unresponsive. Either way, I have to do the power-home-button combo to reset it.
It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but enough that I can't really rely on the alarm anymore. Sometime it crashes in the middle of the night before the alarm even goes off, but most of the time it is after interacting with the alarm.
This happened with the most current iOS update and the previous one. Not sure if it has been happening before that or not.

Actually, it's not too late. I figured out the problem. After an hour spent in the VZW store all they offered to do was hard reset or upgrade me. The fix: simply manually update all the apps on my phone. The phone was overheating because it was trying to update everything at once. I turned off automatic updates and manually update all my apps. Phone is working perfectly now. And I'm receiving texts & phone calls again.

Phone crashes after every call

My Droid crashes after every call. I have to remove the battery and reboot the phone. (Am running Droid 2.1).

I haven't seen this before and it sounds really strange.
Have you tried restoring you phone to "factory defaults". It is quite possible something that you have installed is conflicting somewhere, but it's really hard to guess what it might be.
Also, while some of the VZW technical people do hang out here and answer questions, you're probably better off contacting VZW Customer Service with this one. You can reach them by dialing 611 on your mobile (which, in this case I wouldn't recommend) or at (800) 922-0204.

Phone crashed after update and will not turn on

I updated my Droid Razr Maxx yesterday and the phone completely crashed and would never start back up after the update. The pgone keeps displaying the Motorola "M" but will not go past that. I have tried to do the soft reset by using the voulume up and power key and the phone will balcck off but when it comes back on it continues to only display the Motorola "M" symbol. I also let the phone completely die to see if that would fix the problem but that did not work either. What could be the cause of this problem? Is there a way to fix this problem?

Let's get your phone back up and running, Keishab! I appreciate all that you've done thus far. Are you able to get your device to power up in the Boot Mode Selection Menu. I've provided the instructions here, http://vz.to/1xyvikX . You do not need to complete the factory reset but I do want to see if it will power up into this menu option.

Phone crashed after update

I have just downloaded and installed the new update version of the iphone software on my phone and it crashed my phone. It wiped out everything and gave me the "Connect to iTunes to activate your phone" message. When I connected it to iTunes I had to restore it to last saved settings and load all my information again. It wiped out all the songs, pictures, contacts everything. This is annoying. This is not a hacked phone and I don't have any 3rd party applications. So beware of the new update. I hope they don't plan on wiping the phone clean (even though it is not altered) everytime they have an update.

I had the same issue. Luckily I downloaded my photo's before installing the update. It really is a joke. Fortunatley after spending a couple hours reloading all my music, everything seems to work. It actually kept my contacts. I had to punch in my code to access my home email again. The only strange and annoying thing is that I get a message to input my "voicemail password". What password? I cannot access my voicemail now.

I tried to update my iPhone 4 to the new iOS 7.0.2 but my phone said it needed to restore everything so i tried to do that and now it crashed. The screen is the Itunes screen saying its connected but i held down the home button trying to get it to turn on or something but it wont. HT6162 phone crashes after update 7.1

When trying to update my phone for 7.1 my phone just crashed, can't hard reset, and the restore estimated time is redicuous and keeps locking out. Maybe it's my WIFI, but I doubt it since I've never had this problem. Any help would be great on how to just restore my phone to an earlier date.

I have a 4S, the phone was updating to 7.1 and turned off mid update. Now it will not turn back on, the only thing that comes up on the screen is a request to plug my phone into iTunes... is there a way to fix this without plugging into iTunes?

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

hi mate,
not possible to update your software offline. i know that in current Nokia Suite and the older Nokia Software Updater, if your installation file download is interrupted (by Internet cutting out for example), then it will save what has been downloaded already and only download the remaining parts of the file.
other than that, your other option is to take your phone to a Nokia Care point and get them to carry out the software update for you.

second do you have the right message center number. you can obtain that from your provider
third try this
messaging-options- settings- other - change message count to 999 and phone memory to e memory/memory card if you are using one and if you have not done so already and see if this helps you any

Phone crashed after new .0.2 update

I just tryed to update my iPhone 4 to the 4.0.2 update and my phone went into the recovery mode. I got a 9 error message that stated I needed to restore my settings. When I attempted to do that it said that my phone cannot be recovered at this time. Has anyone had this happen? next steps? I am really not happy with the iPhone 4.

Error 9 occurs when your phone unexpectedly drops off of the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software. If running any firewalls or anti-virus software, disable them all & try again.
