Nokia E63 update firmware

What can happen when i install firmware on nokia E63?It is safe ?I will update it with nokia updater.What can go wrong when i do it?

Nokia E63 UPDATE!!!

I got Nokia E63 and I found in Nokia website that there is new Firmware 410.21.010. But when I got to NSU i get that the latest is the one I already have.
Any theorys why???

Nokia n79 updated firmware 32.001 found GPS connec...

I'm update firmware 32.001 for nokia n79 and gps signals cannot be received.
The satellite signals usually open between 6-9 after firmware update enabled satellite just 1-2
Please update the gps section in the next version of firmware

Hi, I report a bug in this firware versión. I've n79-3 rm 350 NAM. The problem is cannot acces to menu route when the languague is set in Spanish: Tools > Settings > Applications > ---- (before here appears App Settings or some else). But, when the langague set is English, this option appears
GPS signal reception: sometimes is take too long lock the GPS signal.

E63-update firmware require lock code.

E63-1 after update to new firmware 500.12.009 success. when it restart and login to OS, it's require the lock code. but i type the code 12345 is code error.
i dont change the phone code from i buy this phone. so how can i find the correct code?
please help.

The default code is usually 12345 unless it was changed by either the network or the user. If it is changed by the networks then it should be on the label on the box. If you changed it and don;t remember it, the only way to reset it is to send it to a Nokia Care Point. You will need to bring proof of purchase with you.

Nokia 5800 Updated Firmware - Problems with Alarms

I have just updated to Custom Version 40.0.005.C01.01 and have a similar problem to other owners.
When my phone is locked and a reminder comes on, linked to the Calendar, I have no way of Stopping the alarm.
I have tried removing the battery, as suggested for other problems, but that doesn't work.

Nokia 7370 update firmware

Hi all,
does anyone know why my 7370 with product code 0532605 receives a message from NSU "impossible to retrieve phone information" while if I check in the firmware availability section it says that version 4.13 is available for it while it has version 3.56 installed?

Well i think it should be updated.
Check that the latest update sw you installed on the PC and turn off your phone , take the battery out and try again.

Nokia N73 Update/Firmware

Ok, im from the uk and have recently purchased a phone on the THREE network, on contract so its locked onto their Software...
They offer free msn messenger which you can download from free online wap services...
Now... I have the N73 Music edition firmware(v3)
But msn messenger is not there, I have tried to download msn messenger again but it says when its downloaded certificate error, anyone else had this problem??

Nokia e63-update -themes

Hi there guys I just updated from 400.21.013 i think to 500.21.009 and i did a Factory Settings and it said:That the phone will restart.Allright the phone restarted and then i couldn't change my theme I go to Tools->Themes but when i click themes nothing happens Like i haven't clicked anything could somebody please help me?

and there is a small arrow right there right in the corner under the battery what is it i think i made some network settings that's why i tried to do that Factorry Setting wizard still theme problem i cant change it and i tried with *#7370# but i think it is the same thing with the "Factory Settings"

Please nokia. Is there any system or downloadable application that can download and install new Nokia E63 software(software updater over OTA)?. If there is any out there please i will like to get the link and download it. If there is not. I thing this is what programmers should do or nokia them self. Thanks

Nokia E63 won't update, error code 12017

I can't update my Nokia E63 using the ovi suite software.
After doing a complete memory wipe, the same error code appears during the update process.
I select update 501.21.001, hit install... but before the download can even begin I get error code 12017.
After googling issue, I see many many people have had this issue. I have tried all solutions, including installing the Nokia PC Suite, then installing the software update from there. I have also tried disabling Windows ICS.
Is there any solution to this problem? Is there some way to manually update the phone's software without using Nokia's software suite?

I have exactly same problem.
I can easily update my e71 (both with NSU and Nokia Suite), but can't do it with e63 - error 12017 in Nokia Suite and nothing in NSU (I see "First step" all the time).
I've tried every solution I found on nokia forums, I reinstalled whole software, drivers, turned off ICS, AV, firewall and nothing.
I have nokia suite v3.3.86, NSU 3.0.605 and nokia firmware 200.21.012 (latest is 500.21.009/501.21.001 !!)
I ran out of options.

I only add: I can manage e63 from nokia suite, I succesfuly made a backup of all content. So the phisycall connection works.

Nokia Software Updater Lost connections with E63 ...

i'm trying update the firmware of Nokia E63, but the Nokia Software Updater always lost the connections after some minutes with the E63. Can someone help me?

I am trying to upgrade the fimware of my E63, but the nokia-software-update always loses the connection to the phone. It alert that the procedure is to remove the battery, the USB cable and the charger and put the cable, the battery and charger. I do all these procedures, but not work, the phone restarts and the nokia-software-update begin with the same error.
When it lose the connection, the PC stays with sound as placing and removing the USB cable several times.
I tried too remove all nokia software, run the Nokia_PC_Suite_Cleaner and reinstall the PC_Suite and nokia-software-update, but nothing...
I'm using the latest version of Nokia PC Suite and my PC is a XP updated with the latest service pack (3).

and i didn't find any problem
after the update, my cellphone asked me for the pin code..
after i put the pin code, my cellphone asked me for the lock code...
i put the factory code (12345) But this code didn't work...
Please somebody help me because i can not use my cellphone...
what do i need to do?

Thank you for your first post and a warm welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
It maybe that all your internet settings were erased after the update so please make sure all the settings are correct.
To do this if you look at the link below, it links to a user guide for your device in PDF format. If you open this up and look under the internet section and follow the instructions:

If you have check this and verified all settings are correct please contact your network provider to make sure your internet and data plan are active and you can request settings from them.
If after this you still have no luck then try performing a soft reset. This will involve dialing *#7780# on your device and then entering the default code 12345 (unless you have changed this, if so please enter that code) and now give it a try. If you web is still not working then you can perform a hard reset. This can be done by dialing *#7370# and once again enter you default code. Before doing this reset please make sure you back up your device by using Nokia suite.
Once you have done this reset you may need to enter your internet and web settings again so please refer to your user guide on this and also you can request the settings from your network provider.
Give the above a go, if you still cannot get it to work then you will have to visit your local Nokia care point which you can find on the below link:

E63 update of firmware from 400.21.010 to 500.21.0...

i tried to update my e63( 410.21.010... RM-437 nokia E63-1(20) ) to the latest available firmware i.e. 500.21.009 ... i tried it thrice ... but the same problem keeps on coming after the download gets over...
this is the error message which i got

downloading the variant package failed . most probably there is non-commercial software in ur device.

I didn't mean Nokia branded - provider branded.... lol - if the phone is locked to a provider, than updating may not be possible unless debranded.
Before trying any of the below (and assuming you have backed everything up) do a 5 minute battery pull.
If no joy:
You could try a factory reset first (find in Tools/Settings/General), if not then *#7380#, if that doesn't work either, try *#7370#.
