  • Best way for working offline/online?

I edit my RED files in Prores SQ 1024x576 when doing offline. Online is done in Prores 4444 1920x1080.
I´ve tried different ways to convert the project in FCP from lowres to highres, and I´m now using XML. I choose 1920x1080 as sequence settings when importing the XML, but I then have to reconnect with the online files, remove filters from the offline etc. I also have to create a new project before importing to avoid reconnecting with online files in the offline timeline too.
Is there a easier way to do this?

It's more complicated than that. There are four flavors of 422.
There's a complete section in the FCP7 manual about using REDCODE media.
There's a complete explanation of the Pr Res codecs in the FCP7 manual.

  • Windows 8.1 Work Offline

    Hello
I don't know if it's me or Windows 8 -8.1, but I can't find the Work Offline Online button.
When selecting a network drive like the home folder to be always available offline, I could in windows 7 choose when to be online and offline.
where do I find it in Window 8 and 8.1 some say it should be in Ease of Access somewhere, but where?
Thank you and have a good day

I'm not sure what IE has to do with my issue?
It would just be an example of something which used GlobalUserOffline.  WLMail is another.
when you Sync a network drive and choose always available Offline.
I'm on W7 but unfortunately do not have a network drive to synch.   However, I'm trying to figure out how to make a Home Group with my Surface 2 and could add my USB hard drive to it.  Would that be good enough?   First I need to
get the share working and then, if you tell me where to look, I could fire up ProcMon and see if GlobalUserOffline is involved with it too.
FWIW it's still there, even with IE11 installed:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
but not in HKLM (though I'm not sure if it ever was there).  Also, another factor in my case may be that I still run  InkSwitch  (from InkLand, for old times' sake <w>).

  • How do you get the browser to work offline. It stays connected even if you click on Work Offline option and there is a check mark beside it.

I play an online game which requires me to open and set up several tabs, click on them offline, and then reload all tabs. With this new update, the work offline button does not work. I click on it 'Work Offline', a checkmark appears before the option. But when I click on the confirm button on the tab, it does not show the usual message that I am offline and I should try again after going online.
I also do a lot of offline reading, which was possible with the previous Firefox versions. I'd load them while I was online, then I could read them when I was offline. Now I can't do this.
I am not happy with this new version of FF. Is there a way to revert to the old Firefox?

Does the Live Http Headers extension confirm that there is network traffic?

I notice that you are likely infected by Conduit software (malware) looking a the browser.newtab.url pref in the System Details list.
Your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can also check in "Windows Control Panel > Programs" for recently installed programs to see if anything from Conduit.

  • When I click on Firefox, the page comes up as "work offline" and I have to uncheck this option under "File" before I can get on line. How can I disable this automatic start option "work offline"?

Firefox starts up "Work offline" and I am notified "Having trouble loading page." I am then advised to "uncheck" the "work offline" option and "retry" getting connected to the internet. I would like Firefox 4 to automatically come up as a Browser on line, just as 3.6 did. How can I achieve this goal? Is there a way to disable the automatic "offline" start-up?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

  • I want to change the default setting from "working offline" to "working online"

Every time I start Firefox for going to internet I have to uncheck the "working offline" setting. How can I make Firefox start in "working online" setting?

Bookmarks open by default in the current tab.<br />
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • What exactly does the Work Offline option do in a shared review hosted on an internal server?

    Hi,
What exactly does the Work Offline option do in a shared review hosted on an internal server?
I *think* it simply disconnects you from the review server. I'm not sure why one would want to do this.
I'm trying to recommend an offline workflow for reviewers who may not be able to access a shared review hosted on our internal server (for example, while traveling). These reviewers would like to be able to comment on an offline version of the review PDF and then publish their comments when they can again connect to the Internet/internal server.
It doesn't seem like "Work Offline"  is the right fit for this scenario. Instead, should reviewers save a local copy to their hard drive, comment on it, and then, when reconnected to the Internet, open the local copy, click Reconnect to Server, and then click Publish Comments?

Thanks, Dave. So for my hypothetical traveling reviewer, it would be reasonable to suggest the following steps for an offline workflow?
    1. Connect to the shared review.
    2. Choose Work Offline from the Server Status menu.
    3. Close and save the review PDF locally.
    4. Comment while traveling.
    5. When back in the office, open the local copy of the review PDF.
    6. Click Reconnect to Server.
    7. Click Publish Comments.

  • Change from working offline to online

I keep getting the message that I'm working offline how can I change this to online. I can't print from adobe reader, or word.

There are two add-ons designed to correct this:

  • I can't open Firefox. It says I am working offline but i cannot figure out how to change to on online. IE works just fine

I had firefox for a while and it worked fine. One day when I clicked to open it it said "You are currently offline, change status to online". I am paraphrasing. Internet Explorer has no problems with me being offline, it is working.
We uninstalled and reinstalled the program with the same result. We gave up for a few months and went back to Int Exp.
I got a pop up from Yahoo saying to try FF #4. I was shocked to see the exact same message as before.

Did you check the File > Work Offline setting?
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

  • I want to work offline. where is the option?

I am trying to work offline. I downloaded an add-on but i dont think it is applicable to firefox 5.0. I was wondering where the option to work offline is, or if there is an add-on i can download in order to do so. Thanks

Work Offline is in effect when there is a check mark next to it; not in effect when there is no check mark. Click Work Offline to place or remove the check mark.
*Firefox 4 & 5: click Firefox button > Web Developer > Work Offline
*Firefox 3.6.x or from old Menu Bar in Firefox 4 & 5: click File > Work Offline
**In Firefox 4 & 5, when the old Menu Bar is not visible, press the ALT key or the F10 key to make the old Menu Bar '''''temporarily''''' visible, then click File > Work Offline
*keyboard shortcut: Hold down the ALT key while pressing the keyboard letter F, release the ALT key, then click Work Offline (or press the keyboard letter W)

  • Outlook 2010 won't go back from Working Offline to Online

I am using Windows 7 Outlook 2010.  Suddenly today, an icon Working Offline appeared on the Notification Bar.  I was not working offline.  My email could not receive or send.  I rebooted more than a couple of times.  I disconnected totally from the wall outlet. It did not succeed.  I was and still am able to go online for everything else, just not Outlook.  I googled the problem and saw repeatedly that I should go to Send/Receive then Preferences and uncheck Offline.  I can't find Preferences anywhere and can't find info about where to find it.
(I am able to check my mail with Verizon Webmail but, of course, that is absolutely not what I want to have to do.)
After one of the times I rebooted, I could no longer access the Outlook Inbox.  Then it suddenly appeared again.   Right now, it is gone again.
What can I do to correct this?????  Would a System Restore help?  I hate to do that but I will if I must.
    Thanks!!!!!

I would just verify your Server settings for the Verizon e-mail account in Outlook. See this article, since Verizon may have changed some things around that caused it to go offline for you. Likely, Outlook cannot connect to the server which you can most likely find out by doing a Send and Receive.

  • Company E-mail Not Working on Nokia E63

My company's e-mail is not working on my Nokia E63.  The e-mail setup wizard is doing nothing for me.  Please help!!!

    Hi MrFelps,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
If a hard reset and reinstallation of the software have not resolved the issue, please visit a local Care centre where this can be fixed for you.
The Care centre will most likely be able to do this in the shop itself and so you won't have to send the phone for repair. If this is necessary after all they will able be able to give you an estimate of how long it will take to repair the phone and send it back to you.
You can find your nearest Care centre here.
Hope this helps, please keep me updated on your progress.

I got the nokia x6 phone recently and have been putting music it on it through my USB cable that came with it, through mass storage.  Up until recently it has been working fine, but last week when I tried to delete the all the music off my phone through the mass storage usb cable on my mac, the computer tried to delete all the files, but in the end the cable was ripped out the computer in frustration as it just took too long to even begin. (3 hours and it didnt even start deleting, just said it was 'preparing to send to trash.'
Now my music is all corrupted on my phone, and each time I try and play it it come up with 'general error' and marks the music as corrupted. None of it works, and now it wont even allow me onto the music.  The problem is that it is taking up all my room and each time I try to do anything it says there is no more room available.
The bigger problem is now with the usb, which each time I plug it into the computer the file does not appear, but if i take it out the computer always says it was taken out without ejecting, which shows it is at least reading it, it just isnt showing up.  I have tried to download new update, and even to manually delete all my music, which doesnt work as it says 'general error' each time I try to do this.
Sorry about the long speech here, but I hate gadgets at the best of times and now that its ruining my phone!! I have also tried a factory reset but that does nothing either. Thanks
Since all data is corrupted I advise to reset your device. I hope you didn't destroy the USB connector.
