Nokia E65 Issues & Questions (Streaming ETC)

Hi,
Ive had my handset since late November,
it's a second replacement as the previous one kept doing strange things on me.
My replacement phone started being ok for the first few weeks then it would just switch off if I opened or closed the slider to use it. I gathered it may of needed a Softwear update after trying that after weeks of waiting for Vodafone to verify it with Nokia I updated it 2 weeks ago, but im still having problems with it occassionally turning off when I open or shut the slide is anyone else experiencing this issue aswell as me?
I think maybe somethings loose inside like the Cable that connects the Board to the phone or something but im unsure?
what is my best option what can I do?
I have a Nokia N80IE on spare so even if I had to have it sent to repair thats no probs at all
Also I wanted to ask have any of you managed to get Digitally Imported or Sunshine Live working on the phone via Streaming? I can only get Radio 1 and I really want these other stations, I really miss Virtual Radio I just don't know why my phone refuses to install it ive tried different dates but it wont install!
Anyways I hope someone gives me a some help

  • WiSM Design and Testing Issues / Questions / Queries etc......

Hi all. Heres hoping you can help........
I hope you can grasp the following description of the test network I have. I admit a diagram would have been better but it's hard to send a whiteboard over the web : )
I am currently in the process of designing and testing out a wireless solution and am having a few issues / queries. I have a 6509 with a Wireless Services Module (WiSM) installed in slot 3, one Cisco 1240 AP on a remote LAN and a DHCP server on a remote LAN (not the same as the AP)
I am using LAG on controller 1 with port channel 1 and native VLAN 20.
    VLAN 20 is 10.1.1.0 / 24
The management interface has IP address of 10.1.1.10
The AP-manager interface has IP address of 10.1.1.11
    VLAN 11 is 128.88.1.0 / 24
The service port has IP address of 128.88.1.10
The Cisco 1240 AP on the remote LAN is picking up a IP address via DHCP (from a remote DHCP server) OK and can route to both the aforementioned VLANs 20 and 11.
    Issue/Question 1
I can ping the management interface locally on the 6509 and also remotely from the AP so all looks OK there however I cannot ping the AP-manager locally or remotely.
Is this expected behaviour? I would expect that if I can ping one I should be able to ping the other or is the AP-manager interface not routed and only used in some way to create the LWAPP tunnel>
    Issue/Question 2
    As previously stated the AP is picking up and IP address but it is not being passed the Option 43 parameter from the DHCP server (not yet ruled out the DHCP server as the cause of this). Due to this I have amended the DNS entry of the management interface (10.1.1.10) to CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER as a last resort. With a console on the AP I can see that the AP tries to join by the "%LWAPP-5-CHANGED: LWAPP changed state to JOIN" output but then get;
LWAPP_CLIENT_ERROR_DEBUG: spamHandleJoinTimer: Did not recieve the Join response
LWAPP_CLIENT_ERROR_DEBUG: No more AP manager IP addresses remain.
Is this related to the fact that I cannot see the AP-Manager interface on the network?
    Issue/Question 3
I have chosen to hard code the IP address of the Service port rather than leave it to DHCP. I am more comfortable having static addresses for management. However, there is no option for a default gateway for the service port.... If I try to get round this by applying a static route via the CLI on the WiSM controller to point traffic out via 128.88.1.1 on VLAN 11 this seemingly overrides all routing on the controller and causes my management interface (10.1.1.10) to fall off the network. Is the routing table applied "en masse" to the Controller? If so this surely means that to use the Service Port you have to be on the local LAN segement?!?!
Thanks for reading my ramble and heres hoping you can shed some light on my "niggles" !

    Hi
I am having exactly the same problem.
Getting the same error message "No more AP manager IP addresses remain."
    I'm deploying 200 AP's that will connect to 2x WiSM (4 controllers) in 2 seperate C6k Chassis
    (Controller 1a & 1b = wism 1, 2a & 2b = wism 2)
I have had 1 out of the first 5 AP's physically connected, come online and register with Controller 2b (btw: this was not the master controller, it should not have registed with 2b). All others fail with the same error message as above.
I have all Management and AP-Manager interfaces in the same vlan/subnet as my AP's.
I place a console cable onto the failed APs and see the AP cycle though the motions of trying to find the controllers, download new software code from a random controller, then it reboots, gets DHCP assigned, then get the "No more AP manager ip addresses remain" and then issues a "Reload requested by LWAPP CLIENT.
Then the AP does the whole cycle all over again.
Not sure why the AP's don't register with the controllers when they are all in the same vlan.
I have a couple of extra questions.
    1. what address do you bind to the dns entry cisco-lwapp-controller.localdomain, is it the management address or AP-Manager address ?
I have bound it to the Management address for WiSM 1a.
Also I have 4x controllers (2x WiSMs, 2 controllers per WiSM). Do I just bind controller 1a's address or do I have to put 4x DNS entries into my DNS server for all my controllers?
    2. DHCP option 43, Do I place all 4x management ip addresses in the option or do I put in the AP-Manager Ip address?
I followed this guide but was still a little unsure http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp125304
    2. This final question is more around Dynamic Interfaces for my 4 controllers once I get the AP's resisted,
Do I have to set up a dynamic interface ip address on every controller?
    e.g.
    Ssid = data, VLAN=10, VLAN10=10.0.0.0/24, I will bind AP's 1-8 to VLan group 10.
Do I have to setup 1 dynamic interfaces per controller in the 10.0.0.0 subnet, taking up 4 addresses ?
And if I only have to set up 1 or 2 dynamic interface, how does this work if the controller fails?
    Cheers

  • Photo stream questions, sharing, etc.

    Shared photo stream questions
Camera Roll (CR), Photo Stream (PS)
If I create a shared PS and share it with a friend, is this temporary like the main PS (most recent 1000 images)?
For example, if I put one photo in a shared PS and then take 1000 new photos (but I don't add it to the shared PS), presumably it will disappear from my main PS, but will the original photo disappear from the shared PS, too?
I noticed that each month I have a new monthly event titled, for example, "August photo stream", etc. Are these temporary, too? If I take 1000 photos in September, will the August PS event start to lose images, or will this only occur in the main PS section?
Apple's web site says "iCloud stores new photos for 30 days, so you have plenty of time to connect your iOS device to Wi-Fi and make sure you always have your most recent shots handy." What does this mean? If I take a photo on iPhone it's permanently in CR (until I sync with iTunes on OS X and then iPhoto offers to remove them from CR), but they're also in PS, which is temporary, right? If so, as long as CR is permanent, how big an issue is the 30 day rule?
    Here's where I'm (further) confused...
On iPad, my PS section (the tab on bottom) only has 30, relatively recent photos. Each photo was taken with iPhone.
However, on iPhone, my PS section has 547 images. Some of these were taken as screen shots from iPad (even though they're not on iPad's PS??) Some of the images were "Save As... "  image files from OS X, some were photos imported to desktop iPhoto from a camera. Many of the images were taken years ago. On desktop iPhoto, I have over 3000 images, but the images on iPhone's PS do not appear to be the most recent 1000 images imported to iPhoto.
So why did iPad's screen shots disappear from iPads PS yet appear on iPhone's PS?
Why aren't the two iOS device's PS sections the same?
Is this confusing to everyone, or am I just dense?
    Thanks!

You are most likely using the same apple id under settings>iCloud. If you just want to stop the photo sharing you can open settings>iCloud and turn off photostream. If you want to keep using photostream and still not share you need to set up an alternate apple id to use under settings>icloud

  • An E4200 "MegaThread" - FAQ, Issues, How to, etc

Hi Cisco Community!  I've taken it on myself to make a kind of "mega-thread" for the E4200, because I see that there are a bunch of questions scattered around the forum, and (perhaps it's just me personally) I'd love to see things grouped together as one nice reference. I'm new to the forum, and to the E4200, but I'm loving it so far.  I'm not a forum mod or anything like that, I just thought it'd be nice to gather the issues/questions that Ive seen.
    Let's talk about the E4200!
The Cisco E4200 is the latest high-end consumer router from LinkSys/Cisco, released in January of this year.
**Whare are all of the vital stats for the E4200?
    See this web page:  http://homestore.cisco.com/en-us/Routers/Linksys-E4200-MaximumPerformance-Wirelessn-router_stcVVprod...
**Which hard drives / flash drives work with the E4200?
    Here's a "tested" list:  http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&docid=0542deb2fe8c469383f8c59723d2...
Basically, any external drive (including ones you put together yourself) should work with the E4200, as long as you're using a drive formatted in FAT32, NTFS, or HFS+.
**Can I wall mount the E4200?
No, there are not any screwholes in the bottom of the device.  It's a common question though, because Cisco hasn't released any pictures of the bottom of the device.
**Can I use a USB hub to connect more than 1 hard drive/flash drive device to the E4200?
No, the USB hub will not be recognized by the router, therefore, the  devices connected to the hub will not be recognized.
**Why is the light on the top of the router blinking?
Most times it's normal, and I list normal operation below.  HOWEVER...
There seems to be an issue in the 1.0 firmware that's been reported in these and other forums.  There is a concern that this is a security risk.  The thinking is that the router is stuck in "Wireless Protected Setup" mode, and waiting for connections.  Some / several users have reported that turning OFF WPS and going to "manual" mode (page 12 of manual) fixes the issue.  CISCO HAS NOT COMMENTED ON THIS ISSUE, and we REALLY want some information.
You might get a blinking light that doesn't mean anything.  The blinking light, either in error, or as a part of normal operation, doesn't seem to affect performance.
Here's the "official/normal" reasons the light blinks:
Wi-fi protected setup- When you're setting up a device, it's supposed to blink every two seconds.  If there's an error, it flashes quickly.
Upgrades, Resets, power on - The light should flash slowly in these conditions.
**The logging functions aren't working the way I expect / aren't working.
This is also an issue that has been reported in these forums.  So far, it's unknown if this is an issue with the firmware, or how people have configured their routers.  At a minimum, the logs in this device are a lot more "skimpy" than other routers on the market.
**What issues are Cisco / Linksys aware of?
    Check this page:  http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&docid=3ba1589dc0734ff7978c9e9203d0...
Most of the issues that Cisco are aware of are display issues with the internal Web interface, for instance, you can make a wireless password long enough to break the layout of the page.
**The Web interface shows two wireless networks, with the same name, is this correct?
YES, always make sure that the 5Ghz network and the 2.4Ghz network have the same name.  If you're using manual setup for shared keys, make the keys the same.  This enables your clients to roam between the two network types without reconnecting.
**The router is hot.  Is this normal?
The processor in the E4200 runs hotter than room temperature.  In the first month or so of release, some people have reported that the router runs "hot" - most experience that the bottom of the router is warm to the touch.
**I'm comparing routers - which is better, the Netgear 3700 series, or the Cisco E4200?
You're in a E4200 thread, we're a bit biased.  But as objectively as possible, it's my recommendation you check out the E4200.
Netgear's 3700 series routers are currently experiencing several firmware issues (1.0.0.6 in the v2 of the router, 6.98 in the v1 of the router).  These issues are causing disconnects, slowness in the DLNA server (USB hard drive connection), and several versions of the device's firmware have port forwarding issues.  That said, the 3700 has some highlights over the E4200:
    1.  You can flash the firmware to an open source firmware.  Several are reporting that fixes many issues, but is more complex than the default interface. It's also a "power user" solution, so be comfortable with your know-how before attempting.
    2.  There's a few "known good" firmware releases for the 3700 that solve issues, but they are only compatible with the v1 of the 3700 (mostly off the market by now).
    3.  The web interface has more options in the 3700.
    4.  The forum community at Netgear seems to be really good.
The E4200 has been generally very well recieved, has had two issues that don't seem to affect performance (blinking light on top, logging failures), has a 90 day return policy, has a wireless download throughput of over 50M (blows away all other routers in this class), and generally speaking, out performs other routers in wired tests (anecdotal reports from forum users).  The E4200 also has a couple more options than the 3700, like being able to translate a port when doing port forwarding.
The E4200 is much newer than the 3700 series.  It's generally accepted that we'll start to see more issues soon, as more people adopt the product.  Those issues COULD be deal breakers, who knows.
Several people are taking a "wait and see" approach right now, but others (myself included) jumped from the 3700 to the E4200 because of gaming and other issues.  Anecdotally, I love the E4200!
Some folks are waiting for the next Netgear router, the WDNR4000.  I needed a router now.
**There are several screens under Storage.  What does each do?
Disk- Disk makes a Network share (SMB share).  This is good for computer devices on your network.  Although you can make the shares authenticated, the default is that everyone has read / write access to the folders on your disk.  The default location for your disk will be \\192.158.1.1\PARTITIONNAME (where PARTITIONNAME is the name of the share, which in turn is by default named the same as the partition; you can edit this name).  This screen also allows you to remove the disk drive safely from the router.
Media Server- dedicated devices, like the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, several HDTVs, and more (including your computer) can stream music and video from your disk using the Media Server option.  The router uses a service called Twonky to create a DLNA server that you'll see listed in the video tab of your Xbox or PS3.  In this tab, you can specify how often the router should look for new videos on the disk, what to share, and what to call your media server.
FTP Server - You can also run an FTP server, for devices that can't access the disk any other way.
    Admin - User management.
**Quality of Service - what does it do, how do I set it up?
QoS allows traffic through your router based on how important it is to you.  For instance, if your games are more important than downloading files, you can apply QoS to ensure that traffic for your games always gets through despite the downloads.
QoS is automatically applied for wireless devices that support a standard called WMM.  You don't have to do a thing to apply this.
For games, you'll need to add either applications or devices that get highest priority.  If you have an Xbox or PS3, you can "set it and forget it" by doing a MAC address rule, and adding your Xbox/PS3 as the highest priority device on your network.  If you want fine grained control over ports, etc - check from page 38 of the manual for details on configuring your applications.  If you don't have the manual, it's available for download here:  http://homedownloads.cisco.com/downloads/userguide/E4200_V10_UG_NC.pdf
**How do I get an "Open NAT" on Xbox Live / PSN with this router?
Many users will be plesantly suprised that the default settings of this router allow both the Xbox and PS3 through, usually with zero issues on NAT!  That said, if need be, you can do either Port Forwarding or Port Triggering.
Port Forwarding - use this if you've added "Address reservation" for your PS3 or Xbox, AND you only have ONE (of each) in your house.
Port Triggering - use this if you have 2 or more Xboxes, 2 or more PS3s, and you need all to connect simultaneously.
Check starting at Page 36 for more information on Port Forwarding/Triggering.
On Xbox Live, you'll want to open the following ports:  88,3074,1863, and 53.
    On PSN, open:    5223, 3478, 3479, 3658
Check http://portforward.com/cports.htm for more games / information.
**Does anyone know how to check what devices are connected to the E4200 via WIRELESS?
Go into Status -> Local Network , and click on the "DHCP Client Table" button. (thanks kirkh)
    **How does Guest access work?
Guest network access is an unencrypted wireless network that does not have access to your LAN.  You can assign the guest network any password you choose.  When a user connects to the guest network, they must then load a web browser. When they load the web browser, they'll be asked to enter the guest network password.
Guest access is defined in more detail in the user manual, page 18.
    *****Conclusion*****
I'll post more as more questions / items come up.  Unfortunately, we can't edit posts, so please note that information in this post is as accurate as I know it to be as of 1/25/2011.
I invite other forum members to post question / answer format items, or generally discuss below.  I hope this helps some people, and I hope this doesn't seem excessive.

**Does DHCP have to be on in the router to properly enable the Guest Network?
Yes.  No DHCP, no guest network.
**How do I access the disk from iPhone, iTouch, iPad, Android, or Blackberry?
Any application which allows you to access network resources will allow you to access the file share portion of the shared disk.  On Android, ES File Explorer allows you to access files, for example.  There are several apps available on the iPhone, such as NetPortal.  On Blackberry, try the FILES app.
**Can multiple people access the shared hard drive at the same time?
Yes, I've successfully streamed a movie to 4 devices simultaneously without any drops!
**Port forward to broadcast for WOL (Wake On LAN)?  I want to wake up my computer from the Internet, how do I do this?
The current method isn't the BEST, but it seems to work:  You must reserve a DHCP address for the computer you want to wake in the DHCP reservation screen (basic setup page).  You must also put in the port forwarding rule for UDP port 6 or 7 to that computer, port being depending on your magic packet software. Currently, this allows for the Wake On Lan to work as long as the ARP table isn't flushed.  Because the magic packet is supposed to be pointed at the broadcast address, it's important to open the port to the broadcast address, but the JavaScript on the port forwarding page disallows this action.  Some people have intercepted the HTML on previous LinkSys routers (on the port forwarding screen) to...  Forum members will likely be trying this method on the E4200 soon - I'm not going to, as I don't have a need for WOL (let me know how it goes).
**Is there a way to transfer settings from an old router to the E4200, like port forwarding, WEP/WPA keys, etc?
No, there's no automatic way to transfer the settings.  Many of your old settings (WEP, HAHAHA) are obsolete anyway.
    **Is the E4200 DLNA certified?
If it's not directly certified, it doesn't really matter.  The media server seems to work with everything I've thrown at it - Xbox, PS3, Media Center, etc etc  Technically, the box and the ad materials all state "UPnP AV Media Server", not specifically DLNA, so it's probably not actually certified at this point.  The server is TwonkyServer it looks like (the icon is the same T icon).

  • Multiple problems with iSync 2.4 (e.g. "Exchange" error; Nokia E65)

Hi I have three questions regarding problems with iSync at the moment.
    1. I'm confused with iSync the program and iSync the '.Mac' feature in System Preferences.
    2. iSync often believes I'm trying to connect via Exchange. Not true, but it's stopping my syncing contacts in particular. I never use the Office Exchange program and one of the laptop user logins uses exchange for their email account via Mail. Can this be prevented. It currently stops all four users.
    3. Nokia E65 - iSync Plug-in Problem:
I have downloaded the plug-in Nokia made available from their site ( twice and when I try to install it stops at the 'select the destination' section when I supposed to select my hard drive with a green tick. However, it has a red cross and says 'installing this software requires 156kb of space. You cannot install the phone plug-in on this volume. Please update to the latest version of iSync using Software Updates.'
FYI, I have the latest versions according the my Software Update of System Preferences on my 10.4.9 MacBook. I also have 3.7Gb of free space on my hard drive, and I've tried the recommended process from Nokia three separate times.
Any tips, anyone? I've posted this on a Nokia discussion board to see if there are any Nokia specific solutions.
    Many, many thanks.

I have the same issue.. am trying out the option given on http://tek-kon.blogspot.com/2010/03/phone-memory-full-phonememory-phone.html

  • Nokia e65 memory card problem

Is there any possibility that an 8gb micro sdhc card to work on a Nokia E65?

    Check it here: http://mea.nokia.com/find-products-en/accessories/all-accessories/memory-cards-and-cables/memory-car...
I note it's not there - your E65. So ask yourself this question: does your phone take 4GB? If yes, it will take potentially 32GB. The reason for that is that all microSD cards from 4GB onwards are microSDHC. If your phone is capable of accepting the lowest microSDHC available, it will be able to accept the highest - but for some software limitations. Good luck

  • Invalid serial number Nokia e65

    Hi,
i'm trying to register my new nokia e65 on the site My Nokia. The site always responds Invalid Serial for my serial number.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks

I wonder if this is related to the previous version issue with Acrobat 8 that displayed the same or similar error?
Here is the text from a very old document for Acrobat 8 KB if you want to try it but I don't know if it will work
Error: "You have entered an invalid serial number..." when you try to launch Acrobat 8 Standard on a Dell computer
    Issue
When you try to launch Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard on a Dell computer, the program returns the error message, "You have entered an invalid serial number. Please re-install Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and enter a valid serial number when asked."
    Solution
Check the alm_config_files folder for a duplicate AdobeConfig.xml file.
    Navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\alm_config_files
The following two files should appear in this folder:
    AdobeConfig.xml
    AdobeConfig.xml.aiwbf
    Delete the AdobeConfig.xml file.
Rename the AdobeConfig.xml.aiwbf to AdobeConfig.xml by deleting the "aiwbf" suffix.
    Launch Acrobat 8 Standard.
    Additional Information
On some Dell computers, a duplicate AdobeConfig.xml file is created when Acrobat 8 Standard is installed. The AdobeConfig.xml file without the "aiwbf" suffix is written for a volume-license version. The correct AdobeConfig.xml file is given the suffix. When a retail version of Acrobat tries to read the volume-license AdobeConfig.xml file, Acrobat returns the error.

  • My Nokia E65 wont show my caller id

    Hi
I recently bought a Nokia E65 and i am noticing that whenever i call someone, my caller id does not show on their phone. I set my phone to show my caller id and it still doesnt work. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?
    Thankyou

When during incoming calls only the number is visible but not the name of the person who is calling, it means that the contact details are saved in two places - on your SIM card and on your phone memory. To solve this issue, you have to select all the contacts from the SIM card, move them to the Contacts in the phone memory. Make sure as well that you don't have, for example Roger - xxxxx and Roger - yyy (meaning one name with different numbers). You won't have this problem with contacts which you add now to your address book though.

  • Nokia E65 Connection Error

I am having Connection Error in my E65 when I try to dial any number, however it still recognize network operator. Any clue?

I have a Nokia E65-1 but since day one I have had the "Connection Error" problem.
Basically quite often when I try to make a call I can't. I will repeatedly get "Connection Error" on my screen.
Or I'll be in the middle of a conversation (often with 3 Customer Services) and the phone will terminate the conversation.
I'm on the 3-UK network and the work-around above is not available. In the menu I get Menu > Settings > Network > Network Mode > Dual mode
So it is defaulted to "Dual mode" and there are no other options.
I have sent my phone away for repair twice:
    1. re-flash done - no change
    2. couldn't find an error with my phone
Then 3 replaced my hand-set with a second-hand E65-1 but I still get exactly the same problem.
3 have told me that it is a service issue and that they can't do anything about it.
I have used a friend's K810i with my 3-Sim and the problem didn't happen. Conclusively the phone and since I now have been given a different E65-1 I'm guessing all E65's have this problem or I'm just really unlucky.

  • Nokia e65 upgrade problem

    Hi all!
First of all sorry for my bad english.
I buy a Nokia e65 "internet limited edition" on vodafone and when I try to upgrade with Nokia software updater says that:
    Connected phone was not recognized.
I can use the pc suite but can`t upgrade. Why?
    Can anyone help me?

    Hello karma,
Sincerely, besides the minor speed improvement, didn't notice any more improvements.
At the Nokia Care Point they told me this firmware was mainly bug corrections and some adjustments, so it would not be noticeable to the end-user (besides some battery managing improvements, more stability and as I mentioned, the small speedup).
As I never had major issues with firmware v2, to me it really didn't change much.
    Cheers

  • Nokia e65 screen wont turn on

    Hi,
The screen on my Nokia e65 turned off on the weekend all of a sudden. I then tried to press the power button. Phone starts up, i can hear sounds etc, slight light in the back of screen but the screen itself does not seem to turn on. If i press any buttons on the phone pad i hear the normal sounds that indicate it is still working, however the screen remains off. Can anyone help? Anyone experienced the same thing?
    Thanks

You most go to Nokia Servece Point. If your NOKIA is under waranty this service will be free. Maybe this is flex(tape) or LCD.

  • Modify Call Logs at Nokia E65

    Hello,
I have a Nokia E65 and I would like to find a way to modify my log, erasing only a specific recived/called number from the list, without deleting the entire list. Do you think that would be possible?
The ideea is that my wife can check everything I do with my cell phone and this is frustrating. On the other hand, if I erase the entire log list she will be suspiciouse, so please, I need help!

Well, ghandalf. Quite a pickle indeed.
Since you would rather not delete all the call/data entries made or received on your phone on the Communications log as that will cause suspicion, the only other alternative that I can think of is to not make contact with phone numbers that will cause suspicion.
That or buy a new phone, or find an excuse to buy a series 40 Nokia phone instead.
As to why, I suspect that when the developers were working on the OS, they did not take into consideration that there may be individual users who may want to use their phones for....questionable activities in which tracks would need to be covered. What a shame.
@ thundertiger: ghandalf is referring to the Communications log which lists all incoming/outgoing calls and packet data usages. You can delete single entries in the Missed/Received Calls and Dialled Numbers, but if you scroll to the right in Log, you will see a "Log" section that lists everything. That will not allow the deletion of single entries. All or nothing.
I doubt getting a second prepaid card will work if he's using the same phone. The logs are stored in the phone memory and will not erase the previous data/call details when the SIM is changed. If I'm wrong, do let me know, as I have no reason to swap SIMs constantly and cannot confirm this.
thundertiger has a point as well, ghandalf. If you have a detailed bill summary plan on your phone contract, it will list the numbers for all calls made.
    Bottom line:
    Your options are only:
    1. Buy a non-symbian phone (i.e. series 40 would be good)
    2. Delete all your communication entries
    3. Don't make contact with suspicious numbers.
    4. Get a second phone.
Since you already stated 1 and 2 aren't an option, that only leaves option 3 and 4.
