I want to ask Nokia, why NOT firmware for
phones with v 1.0633.58.02?
When we have update?
Problems are VERY mach.
May be after five year or?
I sorry for purchase of my nokia phone and this
NEVER repeat again. /This is my eight nokia phone/
But i want to update this phone because is problem.
See we update for 1.0633.58.02 - this is the question?

It may be a 'just' for a Nokia Serivce Centre to do that.
But for an end user it involves some steps that will invalidate your warranty and are definatley not supported

Nokia E65 latest firmware serious problem or bug !...

Yesterday night I decided to update my mobile software using nokia software updater to solve a performance issue as mentioned in the website.
I took a full back on my MMC then started the update.
My mobile software version was 1.00.XXXXX and the new release is 4.XXXXXX
The update completed successfully, but after I restarted the mobile I was shoked of the following issues :
- The arabic language disappeared from the phone lagnauge selection.
- MMC requested a passrowd to ulock it !!! while I dont remember that I set a password for it or I may set it once long time back but I forgot it now.
I'm surprized for what happened as I had a discussion last night with my father regarding Nokia trust relation ship .
Please advice how can I solve my issues ASAP.
All my contacts are backed up on the memmory .

please i really need to update my e65 because it's been performing very slow and it can only brows with MTN but not with etisalat network down here in nigeria. New firmware for Nokia E65?

I've heard many who have updated their Nokia E65 to firmware v3.0633.69.00 but my updater still says v2.0633.65.01 . Where do I get the v3?
And my E65 is very very very slow to open menus and messages. Anyone else got this problem? How can I fix this sluggish phone and make it faster? It sometimes take 5-6 seconds to open the menu or an SMS. That's realy bad

Hello itmn,
I updated my E65 to v3 at Nokia Care Point (even though it was not available in NSU, they told me they always receive the firmware upgrades first than they are released to the Internet/NSU).
After a couple of weeks using this new firmware, I noticed battery improvements (with 3G switched off), the phone is little to nothing faster, and some minor bugs I was experiencing related to WLAN were corrected.
As to your E65 being slow, I once was experiencing the same with v2 firmware and the only solution I managed to fix it was to reset the phone.
I reseted after a back up, but then decided to restore only contacts and calendar entries, and reinstall all the applications from new/fresh downloads (as I noticed some of them didn't work if they were restored from the back up).
In the end, the phone was faster and more responsive.
I guess you could give it a try.

Nokia E65 - Firmware upgrade

I have an E65 with the following firmware version:
1.0633.18.01
11-01-07
RM-208
With Vodafone software as well.
It runs rather slow and sluggish. Is there a new version which will make it quicker? I have to re-boot the phone as some of the functions stop working.
How do I upgrade/get hold of any newer versions? Will I have to take it back to Vodafone or Nokia Service Center or can i do it myself?

Try, first, by reformatting the phone with *#7370# and without restoring the backup. If things work, then something is wrong with the backup, probably.

Nokia E65 Firmware Updating Problems.

Hey guys I have a Nokia E65 (RM-208).
Whenever I try and run the Nokia Software Updater it is never able to find an update. Even though I know there are updates available.
When I press *#0000# it says 1.0633.03.00

First of all sorry for my bad english.
I buy a Nokia e65 "internet limited edition" on vodafone and when I try to upgrade with Nokia software updater says that:
Connected phone was not recognized.
I can use the pc suite but can`t upgrade. Why?
Can anyone help me?

Sincerely, besides the minor speed improvement, didn't notice any more improvements.
At the Nokia Care Point they told me this firmware was mainly bug corrections and some adjustments, so it would not be noticeable to the end-user (besides some battery managing improvements, more stability and as I mentioned, the small speedup).
As I never had major issues with firmware v2, to me it really didn't change much.

i have a small problem. My Nokia E65 has the Firmware Version:
Version: 1.0633.18.01

Nokia E65
The Nokia Software-Update Newsfeed says a Update to Version 2.0633.65.01 is available. When i try to Update my Cell, the Software Updater says a new version is not available which means i can not update my Nokia.
Why is that? Can someone help?

E65 latest firmware supports sdhc (4gb and above) ...

Hi everyone,
My e65 runs firmware version 1.0633.18.01, product code is 0548014.
Now I know I can't update to the latest software version probably because my phone is branded by the operator (3 Austria).
Anyhow, I'd like to know if the latest firmware available from Nokia enables support for high capacity sd-memory cards (4 gb, 8gb...).
If yes, maybe I should try bugging the operator about it. Or, I could get my phone unbranded and try to update? Could that work so that I can use an 8gb mem card with my E65?
If not, does anynoe happen to have a clue whether IT IS POSSIBLE at all that future updates might enable sdhc support?
This topic has been touched by previous posts, but the last one to be specific about it is a few months old, so I thought I'd ask you guys again

Nokia E65 - SMS tone problem

My Nokia E65 CAN receive messages (SMS), but there is NO indication about receiving. There is no tone, no vibration, no light when message is received. I have tried restore factory settings, update Firmware. But there was no result, it is still catatonic about signaling that SMS is arriving. Other tones work OK (Call, clock alarm, keypad....).
Any similar problems or any other solutions?

Well this is obviously a bug. I have 2179 sms messages in my inbox. And when memory is full phone dont indicate receiving another message. But there is another bug. It says memory is full at 1500 sms, but I can still receive smses..
so if any1 else have this problem solution is to cut smses to another folder... or delete..

Nokia E65 big problem had to reset twice in 3 weee...

Hi all i have had my nokia E65 for 3 weeks now and i have had to turn the phone off and on twice in that 3 week period, why you may ask.
when i use my phone its fine but the problem is when i dont use the phone the display go`s dark which it should but then the bar which displays time date and profile its the long white bar that moves at random on the screen when not in use somtimes do`s not show up at all it just shows the home screen all the time. The display do`s go dark but the long white bar that moves at random do`s not kick in. this has happend to me twice and the only way to fix it is to turn the phone off and on and then it works again what could be causing this as the home screen darkend could cause screen damage as its a static picture.
have you or anyone had this problem on the nokia E65 and if so what firmware as there are 2 diffrent firmwares now.
I am going to take it back but to be honest i think this is a bug in the phone as was wanting to know if anyone on here had the same problem as me.

Nokia E65 pretends to be dead after upgrade to fir...

I upgraded my Nokia E65 and the upgrade failed while Nokia was in "test mode" after about ten minutes of upgrade process. But the phone restarted and worked well in new firmware. I decided to give one more chance to be sure and the upgrade failed again, this time phone was in "Nokia local mode". And yet the phone works perfectly and the firmware is version 3.
What's wrong if any?

Nokia E65 - Newest version of NSU - No updates ava...

I would really appreciate it if someone could enlighten me on as to why the newest version of the NSU (1.04.53 or whatever) tells me there are no updates available for my E65?
My E65 has never had its firmware updated, it is still on 1.0633.18.02
I know for a FACT that there is a higher version than this available, it's being reviewed here - http://www.symbianv3.com/nokia-e65-firmware-update-v206336501.
My phone is only 6 months old, and already behaves like a geriatric piece of s*** just because it's got a few hundred text messages on it.
Any input would be gratefully received

The main reasons for updates not being available are if the update hasn't reached your region yet (they are not introduced simoutaneously around the world) or if your phone has network operator software instead of the standard Nokia software.
If operator software, then your network must approve updates before Nokia can release them.
Smartphones are prone from time to time to memory problems, you could try backing up your personal data and reformatting with *#7370#, this may help.

E65 & A2DP - firmware update?

I bought MD-5W bluetooth _stereo_ speakers to listen
to music streamed via bluetooth by my Nokia E65.
Unfortunately, the E65 does not support A2DP.
Nokia did it for other phones so I'm wondering
if there are any plans to add A2DP support in
the next (and first) firmware update for the E65?
Maybe they fix the occasionally "Insert SIM" crashes
too ...

I agree with all the users here. It seems like the E65 should have a new firmware upgrade, to fix all the new bugs with the wifi connection. In my opinion, Nokia need to add A2DP for a phone like this since many users use A2DP for bluetooth speakers to receive phone calls while driving, and also listening to music. Although this phone is a part of the E series, a bluetooth profile such as the A2DP need to be supported for business users who don't need it for multimedia reasons!
There are many users complaining about this lack of A2DP and WLAN instability. We encourage Nokia to release a new update for our phone and not to leave us behind - else all users will understand the E-series is a fiction and N-series are much more advanced and stable.
Please release a new update with A2DP for us, we are yearning for it so much!

Nokia E65

Hello to all, this is my first post here.
I've read almost all posts about firmware bugs on the E65 phone.
As a owner I'm a little worried that there will be limited firmwares to this phone.
I have too a 7710, won in a Nokia contest here in Portugal, and until Nokia updated the firmware to version 4.10 I was very disappointed, the phone booted every day, and other minor bugs, that made him almost unusable. Since update 4.10, Nokia forgot about 7710, and never released a firmware (I guess it was only a test to the Series 90 software...) well, as it was a prize, I only had to get past it...
What I fear now is that the E65 will become a new "7710"... Nokia is not releasing any firmware to it (at least via NSU and Nokia Service I contacted) and there are some bugs annoying me.
The so common slider boots, the annoying response time of the camera shutter (I realise it's not a "media phone" but sometimes it's useful for some work pics), and some random boots and slowness using some features (opening sms's and so on...)...
I just wanted Nokia to effectively support this phone like it supports some other "mass market" phones, otherwise, I will start thinking about other brands... (as I used to be a Nokia fanatic....)

I agree with you, it's always better to wait a little and have them all corrected, but it's kind of annoying (at least some random reboots of the phone). All other functions work great for me, it's really a good phone, works and feels great to have it in your hand
I still would want some minor functions like the possibility of using the camera horizontally and so... but, I realise that that's not the point of this phone (to be a "camera phone")
Ho well, we'll have to wait, but I still believe Nokia will surprise us...
