Nokia E66 Message Problem

I have problem with my Nokia E66 mobile phone. It is not showing name of person in message inbox, it shows only numbers. When I switch off the hand set & restart it, it displays the name for 4 to 5 hours, after that again it displays only number. Hence after every 4 to 5 hrs I have to switch off my phone.
Please help me.

have you checked for duplicate contacts seems strange it shows the names then they vanish.

hey dude see that which memory are you taking in use..........
if u are using memory card than it will take as usual long time which is as said ur problem......but if u use phone memory as primary memory in case of messaging thn it wont take long time.................

Nokia E51 Messaging problem

Please can someone help me, I have rung Nokia and tried to resolve this but after 2 hrs the guy gave up and the problem still exists.
When I go to create a New Message, I follow the correct steps, Messaging-New Message-Create Text Message- I Highlight the "To" field, then I select Options-Add Recipient, this takes me to the Contacts list and here the problem arises,,,,,,usually I would highlight the persons name then click on OPTIONS to use the feature to add the name to the Text Message's "To" field,,,,,,,,,the problem is the OPTIONS has disappeared, it is just not there, it has always been then but then just up and went.
Can someone help me with this problem. The Tech I spoke to had me reset the phone using the *#7380# combo then I had to enter a code. Anyway it did not work.
At this point I feel like using the phone as flying projectile.

Thank you for your reply, I rechecked what the tech had me do and the first time he had me use *#7780# 12345, this reset the phone not losing any data, but it did not restore the missing icon.(he called this a soft reboot)
He then gave me *#7370#12345, this he called a hard reboot....by the time he gave me this second code I had had enough just about 2hrs on the phone.
Later in the day I tried the hard reboot and it did restore everything, lost my data etc, but I didn't have that much on it anyway.
My point to him was if he did not know how to fix the problem then he could of told me at the get go, not 2 hrs later after he had tried so many things, and the language problem did not help as he was not of this country.

Nokia E70 message Problem

I have just purchased a brand new Nokia e70. Fitted the simcard, loaded my contacts, and all seemed well. mad a call, no problem. Tried to send a message and I got a message asking about "message center" when i pressed send. Clicked Ok, then it asked for a message center number! what is this? I just keyed in a random number (1 i think) and pressed ok. Message was undelivered. I guess the problem lays with this message center thing. Could anyone explain how to correct the problem and what number should i write? It's most frustrating to have a new toy and not be able to use it :-)

Contact your network. Its their message centre so you need to get the number from them

E72 Nokia Email Messaging Problem...please help so...

I got my first ever Nokia device, tried setting the Nokia Messaging using my primary email on Gmail. However, it kept giving the errors like 'verifying credentials failed' or 'the account has expired'
I reset my phone and through the email.nokia website, went to the internet and logged in using my Gmail add and password. After logging in, in order to delete the account, i clicked on 'remove' account and the account was removed. I thought that was the end of it.
I tried setting up Nokia Messaging again using a Hotmail id and it worked. Now I have push email on my cell phone enabled. I added another hotmail account, that also works. BUT when i enter the earlier Gmail id, it gives error that the id is associated with another Nokia Messaging account and please click next to create an account to check mail MANUALLY.
I tried logging in on email.nokia.com through the Gmail id like I had done initially but it says "The user name and password you entered do not match any accounts on record. "
If the Gmail id has been deleted off the Nokia Messaging server and it can't log in through it, why can't i add it to my current Nokia Messaging Account which is active and working?

Nokia 5530 Messaging Problem Pls help !!!!11

i cannot recieve messages unless i take out my battery and start up the phone again. when i start up my phone again im not notificated about recieving a message unless i go into massages and then there is a red star, and the time the message is recived comes up. eventhough i didnt recieve the message untill i restarted my phone

You may try changing the Destination folder for message storing to Phone Memory for some time and see if the problem continues. If the problem is resolved this way then you need to delete those messages from the Memory Card too.. You can have it stored n PC if you really need them..

Nokia 3100 message problem

When I receive a message I can only see the number of the sender at the top of the message screen, not the name of the sender although the sender is in my phonebook! Can anyone plese give me a tip of how to fix this?

It sounds like you've got that person's number in your phone book twice... therefore the phone doesn't know which to display and just shows the number.
Delete one entry, and see what happens when they call again.
It could be one on your SIM card and one on the phone memory.

Nokia 6280 Message problems

Hi,
For the past week now my nokia will not recieve any multimedia messages. The notice will come up 'Unable to recieve multimedia message from sender : [insert contact name here]'
I have deleted all messages from my inbox & sent items. I still have plenty of room on both my phone & memory card.
Is this something to do with my phone? Or is it my provider? (I am with Three).
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well when i updated to V05.92 it had the option of downloading Firmware over the air.
But when i go to it it is greyed out and wont let me press it, It says it depends on operator but i don't think it will work.

Nokia 5320 message problem

i recently got a 5320, but i cant even send msgs with it, originally i couldnt even call because it said it was on offline mode, but i solved that somehow, but now i wanna send msgs as well, can anyone please help?

I take it you have credit on your fone if your a payg
customer.
Go into your message settings to see if the settings for your network just need activating.
If they are not there then ;
Contact your network provider and ask for the settings to be sent over the air. You will then rcv these by text message and you just activate them. Same for multimedia {mms} settings.
Perform a factory reset if all fails and try again although you may need a firmware or software updatw which can be performed using the links on this site or by a trained Nokia Service Engineer.

Nokia e72 Messaging problem stuck in a loop

I've been stuck for over 2 hours trying to get my e72 to setup messgeging but when I go through the wizard and enter in my email adress Gmail and Yahoo after password I get put back to the setup process, and I tried adding a pop it took it but then it wouldn't work.
I tried to log into email.nokia.com/account/home.action but non of my email address passwords worked. I then created an ovi mail account verified it all and that won't work on email.nokia.com/account/home.action I have also tried the pop address that went in bust doesn't send a receive and still no go.
This should be a 4 step process and it's taking a long time and still no go.
Does any one know how to get past this area?

When using the E72 device in offline mode it's not possible to setup a mailbox for yahoo, hotmail, gmail or other provider (data plan is needed) . This is only valid if setting up the mailbox for the first time. If the user has already set up one mail box with SIM card inserted, after that it's possible to do it in offline mode. Means that you cannot create first mailbox using the Wi-Fi.
After the set up email has done, the synchronisation can be done on the offline mode using Wifi connection.
If setup wizard is running on the loop, you should check that your Data connection (Internet) is ok, and you have entered correct email info.

Nokia E66 net problem

Today I m gonna use internet from my e66.then there was a notify 'connection unavailable'.but I have net settings and account.i don't know why it happends...um so worry about it.

try again in a few hours and check the condition of your SIM card and any memory cards in your device. ideally i would take both cards out and the battery out and replace them in ten minutes and turn the phone back on again. it may only be a case of your network reception being a temporary blackout.

Nokia 6111 message problem

Hi , i tried sending a media message and i has not said sent or failed in over 3 days just the little blue sending icon which appears at the top of the phone , i've laso found out that i'm not recieving messages or able to send them successfully , is there anything i can do to sort this out or is there a way to reset the phone , anything ???
i've tried setting being sent and looking in the manual and nothings helped.

is it just mms that does this or is it sms also?
are you able to browse the internet on your phone?
righ now it looks like you are missing some of the settings on your phone, are you on vodafone by any chance?

Nokia E66 problem with calling

It is less than two weeks from purchasing a brand new mobile phone - Nokia E66. Although it is a good device for a lot of things a modern men needs nowadays, it has some dificulties when it is ordered to call someone.
It works fine for a day or two, but after some time calling a persone from the adress book is impossible. Even if a number is displayed as an "unanswered call" and "yes" button is pressed everything from the screen dissapears. I am able to call someone only if I type a number manualy. Pressing the "yes" key works fine only if a number is typed manualy. Restarting the mobile phone also "repairs" the problem for a while.
I have the neewest software installed on the phone. What to do next?

i would consider reinstalling latest firmware and then using the code #2 from your home screen to finish the process. back up all your data and contacts if you don't have them on the sim card, remove the memory card when you do this and default code is 12345.
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list.
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is dead proceed with reflash if not, turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.

Major problem using Nokia Test Message Editor

Using Nokia Test Message Editor on PC Suite 6.83 to create a new message (via USB cable), when I click on create new message (works fine) and then when I click on the "To" button, it says error. It asks me to close program as it has performed an illegal operation. Whys that? The only way I can currently get it to work is by manually entering the phone number but just cant use teh To button.

I tried to Repair PC Suite from the Unistaller, same error.
Then I uninstalled PC Suite, restarted, ran PC Suite Cleaner 3.5 to get rid of registry settings and files. Then I noticed some old data in Application Data\PC Suite (old IMEIs) which I all deleted, then I restarted again and installed the newest PC Suite back. It asked me to install MMSync onto my phone, which I did. (see separate bug report on that
Then it gave me a message that some "Old Contact Browser data was found and has been moved to a separate folder", which I think is somehow related to the Contacts bug which I had described for a previuos PCS version, under my old nick "zak1974". Feeling good and all hopeful at last, I launched the Contact browser and it got all contacts with no problem, I went to Messages - Inbox. Clicked on Create New Message button, then "To" - only to find the same bug, which I am perfectly able to reproduce and describe on any level reaqired, as I have saved all screenshots and messages on the way to the Text Message Editor crash. All the above gives me some right to declare a software/firmware bug with the versions of products I had described in my first post.
Any other ideas?
