Nokia E7 ActiveSync stops syncing

Hi,
I've recently been having an issue with syncing emails when using ActiveSync.
After a fews days, syncing no longer works and I have to delete and recreate the ActiveSync account. This works for a few days and then the problem occurs again.
Looking at the MfE logs, I can see the following error every time the sync fails:
27/03/2012 06:25:03 Connected to connection method named <Connection Name> with type <Connection Type>
27/03/2012 06:25:08 The current ComamndHandler State is EFolderSync.
27/03/2012 06:25:08 CEasCmdHandler:oRunL - Main state machine. PreviousMainState = 4.CurrentMainState = 4. CurrentPolicyState =0.Error =-6
I can't identify any factors that lead to the failure of syncing, but once it stops syncing, the only way appears to be to delete the account and recreate.
I'd appreciate any assistance available.
Device details:
24/03/2012 13:00:14 Mail for Exchange Build : 1.00.000
24/03/2012 13:00:14 Device Software Version: 111.030.0609 2011-11-26 RM-626 (c) Nokia
24/03/2012 13:00:14 Device Model: E7-00

I think I found the cause for this problem. When syncing is in the middle of the progress and the phone is shutdown it remembers the last sync phase, but loses some data from RAM and thus stucks to infinite loop.
Haven't managed to verify if this happens with all shutdowns or only with total shutdown (i.e. power button pressed until phone shakes).

  • Exchange ActiveSync and specially crafted messages cause ActiveSync/Email App to stop sync'ing

So, I think I've finally put together what the issue is with ActiveSync and Mail hanging on the Incredible, at least for me.  When I recieve SharePoint Alerts, or Google Calendar invites, my Droid will stop syncing every time.  If I find the message and delete it on my phone, the sync will start working again.
The two ways I've seen this happen are one, with SharePoint alerts.  I have signed up to recieve alerts from SharePoint when content changes, or tasks are updated.  These messages pretty much break sync every time.  As soon as I delete one, it starts right back up until it hits the next one.
The other way I've seen sync stop working is when Google calendar invites are sent to me.  The discription is usually really long, and has very long urls inside of it.  It seems there must be some kind of limitation here in what ActiveSync can handle.
In both cases, as soon as I find the message that is holding everything up and delete it, sync returns to normal and starts working again.
We're running Exchange 2003... but will be migrating to Exchange 2010 soon.  I'm wondering if this will helpl the issue.
Has anyone else noticed this issues like these with their Incredible and ActiveSync?
Is there another place I can submit this bug?  HTC, Google?
    Thanks,
    Rob

I get this same problem.  When I delete the sharepoint messages it works again.  Anyone know a fix for this?

  • Nokia email stop syncing

I tried to go to my nokia e mail account but this is what it says:
    Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error.

How do I do this if I can't log onto the nokia e mail site.

That is correct. Nokia messaging is very unstable and unreliable.

Try again tomorrow or do what I did and buy a different phone.

  • Nokia 6760s stopped sync with gmail

    Hello,
Since 23.08.2013 my phone stopped syncing with gmail. I deleted the account on the phone and try to create it again, but without success. The message that shows ist "Unable to connect to server. Try again late." Can you help me with some ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance.

elinick, as there was an outage, is this issue resolved, now? Otherwise, please, let us continue there …
By the way, do you really want Nokia Messaging? If you enter a email address like [email protected], you are able to access the native (direct, without proxy) email client.

  • Nokia Lumia 928 - Corporate emails stopped syncing since last week- Any solution?

My corporate emails have stopped syncing, since last week. I tried several things to resolve it, but all in vain. Finally when I connected to wireless network instead of Verizon LTE, my emails started working again!. When I switched back to LTE, it stopped syncing! The error code I receive is 85010017 - outlook.office366.com is currently unavailable.
Microsoft forums suggested that there was a change made on Microsoft's side, but the fact that emails work fine when on wireless, indicates that Verizon has not updated or notified about the change Microsoft made - hence creating these issues.
Anyone having any luck in reporting this issue to Verizon & getting it resolved?

    Ok.
I created a ticket .  Hopefully will be resolved asap. Will update you if
    its resolved

  • ActiveSync stops working after migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

We have started the migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. We've followed best practices and everything is working great except ActiveSync. I've performed Exchange migrations in the past so this is nothing new for me. I've also been referring to
a great guide which has been a big help,
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/migration-deployment/planning-and-migrating-small-organization-exchange-2007-2013-part1.html.
Once a user is migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2013, ActiveSync stops working properly. Email can be pulled to the device (Nokia Lumia 625 running Windows Phone 8) by performing a manual sync. But DirectPush is not working. The strange part is it's not affecting
everyone who's been migrated. Anyone who is still on Exchange 2007 is not affected.
At first I thought it was our wildcard certificate. 99% of our users are running Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 or higher but we do have a few terminal servers still running Outlook 2010. Outlook 2010 was giving us certificate errors. I realized it was the wildcard
certificate. Rather than making changes to the OutlookProvider I simply obtained a new SAN certificate. Although that resolved the issues for Outlook 2010 users, ActiveSync was still a problem.
Rebooting the phones and removing the email account from the user's device and re-adding it didn't resolve the issue either.
Then I performed an iisreset on the CAS server. This didn't help either. I didn't know it at the time, but I was getting closer...
I tried using the cmdlet Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity but it gave me the following error:
WARNING: Test user 'extest_0d9a45b025374' isn't accessible, so this cmdlet won't be able to test Client Access server
    connectivity.
Could not find or sign in with user DOMAIN.com\extest_0d9a45b025374. If this task is being run without
credentials, sign in as a Domain Administrator, and then run Scripts\new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 to verify that
the user exists on Mailbox server EX02.DOMAIN.COM
I started reviewing how Exchange 2013 proxied information from the CAS to the mailbox server and realized the issue may in fact be on the mailbox server.
I performed an iisreset on the mailbox server and all of a sudden ActiveSync started working again. Awesome!
I can't explain why. The only thing I can assume is when some users were migrated from 2007 to 2013 something wasn't being triggered on the Exchange 2013 side. Resetting IIS resolved the issue. I guess I'll have to do an IIS reset after I perform a batch
of migrations. Disabling ActiveSync and re-enabling it for the affected users didn't help - only the IISRESET resolved the issue.
If anyone has any information as to why this happens, please chime in. Also, if anyone knows why I can't run the Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity cmdlet, I'd appreciate the help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
In Exchange 2013, the Public Folder is changed to Public Folder mailbox instead of Public Folder in Exchange 2007 database.
Due to the changes in how public folders are stored, legacy Exchange mailboxes are unable to access the public folder hierarchy on Exchange 2013 servers. However, user mailboxes on Exchange 2013 servers or Exchange Online can connect to legacy
public folders. Exchange 2013 public folders and legacy public folders can’t exist in your Exchange organization simultaneously. This effectively means that
    there’s no coexistence between versions.
For this reason, it’s recommended that prior to migrating your public folders, you should
first migrate your all legacy mailboxes to Exchange 2013. For more information about migrating public folder from previous versions, please refer to:

  • E52 Mail For Exchange Stopped Syncing

I have an E52 (one week old).  Mail For Exchange was syncing well for mail, contacts and calendar with an Exchange Server 2007.  Sync over port 443 usual access point... No change on server.
Today my phone has stopped syncing. My admin log.txt files looked OK until yesterday afternoon then filled up with text just showing the settings. REstarted the phone, no luck and no additions to the admin logs...
How do I do a full resync??
Just done a hard reset and reset up the mail for exchange and everything syncs OK.. I see there is another post on the same subject.  When is Nokia going to look at this??

  • Droid frg22d update stops syncing with exchange 2010

We have exchange 2010 SP1 running.  When some of the droid users received the 2.2 software build FRG22D it stops syncing with exchange.  I have build FRG01B and it works fine, I hope they don't push FRG22D to my phone.  HAs anyone else had this issue?  Has Verizon recognized this issue.  It is going to be major as more phones upgrade and run on Exchange 2010 SP1.

I did a hard reset and that didn't fix my issue so i wouldn't suggest doing a hard reset.
    My environment:

I have a few users with Macbooks, syncing iCal with the company server Exchange 2010. All of them work fine apart from one... I can setup the Exchange account as normal, and all events are correctly synced. After a few days, iCal stops syncing and I got a message "Go offline, revert to server, try again". At this point, the only workaround is to delete the account, and recreate it with the same settings... Then iCal works fine for a few days and again.
This server is working fine with iPhones, Android, Outlook 2011 (Mac), Outlook 2010 (Windows)...
Anyone facing the same issue ? Any idea ?

  • Mail for Exchange on E52 Stops Sync

    Hi
I have a big problem with one of my co-workers phone.
I have tried setting up his mail4exchange on 3 different Nokias (E50-E51 and E52).
With the first to phones (E50 and E51), it syncs just fine, mail contacts calendar and all, but after a couple of days it just stops, no errors or anything. I have to create a new profile to get it to sync. But the same problem occurs time after time.
With the E52 I create the profile and it takes 4 Hours before the sync is complete for the first time, and works fine afterwards. Although it gets very slow after the first sync. 1 day later this phone also stops sync.
This guy have a very large inbox (~5GB data or 13000mails) and 750 contacts in his phonebook.
Is there a limit to how much the phone can handle? I have set it up to sync the bare minimum from the server. He doesn't want to use it to read old mail, only new stuff, and all his old mail is put in subfolders. But I can't set it just to read his inbox?! (I have tried calling Nokia Denmark)

For some reasson my phone also stopped syncing.
I found out, that the sync settings was reset. I think it happened during a sync where no connection was available.
I solved the issue by updating firmware
reentering "Sync What" og "Sync When"
Remender to go in to advanced settings and choose connection (Internet or wap)
    Have fun

  • Nokia Suite has stopped working

Above is the now dreaded message I constantly receive everytime I try to sync my Calendars and Tasks between my Windows 7 based laptop and Nokia C7 mobile phone. This started around the time that I updated to the latest version of Nokia suite 3.5.34. This is one of the most important aspects of my syncs. I uses this for work and I've spent the last few days desperately trying to find a solution.
    What I've done so far:
Started with trying to repair Nokia Suite through Windows 7 uninstall programme (did this several times throughout process)
Also tried to repair sync through Nokia suite (also several times)
I then deleted Nokia Suite (using Windows 7 uninstall programme along with Device drivers etc)
    Then re-installed Nokia Suite
plugged in C7 and re-installed Device drivers etc.
Deleted all Calendar events on my Nokia C7
Re-installed Nokia C7 software through Nokia Suite (after saving everything important)
Deleted Nokia Suite again and installed Beta version
Deleted Beta version and all files under /Appdata/Nokia etc
Installed fresh version of Nokia Suite 3.5.34 from Nokia website
    Installed c7 device drivers
    Sync.....
message still there... Nokia Suite has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. The final messages reads something like 'A problem caused Nokia Suite to stop working....'
    WHAT PROBLEM!!!???
I've spent too many hours trying to sort out this.
I've sent several logged reports directly to Nokia through the Nokia Suite system.
If anyone has some ideas on what might be the solution to this frustration I would be very grateful.
Oh... and another thing. I've also deleted and re-installed several calendar events that I'd recently entered into my Outlook calendar, just in case there was something going on there.
Not to mention the numerous times I've used the Windows troubleshooter to try to figure this things out.
Sigh... I'm not daft, but this is ridiculously complicated for something that is meant to make life simple.

  • After restoring iPod it stops syncing half way

After restoring iPod, it stops syncing while it is downloading music with an error message "Attempting to copy to the disk. iPod failed. The disc could not be read from or written to".
My music is less memory than what my iPod can hold.
    What's up with this?
    THX!

It's possible that your iPod's hard drive has started to fail. Take your iPod and place your right thumb on the centre SELECT button and your left on the top MENU button. Press down both thumbs for about 6 seconds until your iPod reboots. Immediately move your left thumb around to the rewind button |<< on the left and hold this down together with SELECT for a further 6 seconds. Your iPod should now switch into Diagnostic Boot mode. Press MENU for *Manual Test*, then select *IO > HardDrive > HDSMARTData* to reveal your stats. For comparison here are mine for my 2 year old 6th Generation Classic:
    Retracts: 889
    Reallocs: 12
    Pending Sectors: 0
    PowerOn Hours: 2202
    Start/Stops: 894
    Temp: Current 24c
    Temp: Min 10c
    Temp: Max 50c
Take a note of your results. When finished press *SELECT & MENU* for 6 seconds to reset the iPod again.
With modern disc drives sectors are no longer marked bad by a disc scan, if the SMART firmware detects a sector it has trouble accessing it will attempt to invisibly reallocate it to a spare area of the disc.
Note that I've only 12 remapped sectors and none pending. To help explain what the numbers mean here is an extract from the Wikipedia S.M.A.R.T. article:
    *Reallocated Sectors Count*
Count of reallocated sectors. When the hard drive finds a read/write/verification error, it marks this sector as "reallocated" and transfers data to a special reserved area (spare area). This process is also known as remapping, and "reallocated" sectors are called remaps. This is why, on modern hard disks, "bad blocks" cannot be found while testing the surface – all bad blocks are hidden in reallocated sectors. However, as the number of reallocated sectors increases, the read/write speed tends to decrease. The raw value normally represents a count of the number of bad sectors that have been found and remapped. Thus, the higher the attribute value, the more sectors the drive has had to reallocate.
    *Pending sector count*
Number of "unstable" sectors (waiting to be remapped, because of read errors). If an unstable sector is subsequently written or read successfully, this value is decreased and the sector is not remapped. Read errors on a sector will not remap the sector (since it might be readable later); instead, the drive firmware remembers that the sector needs to be remapped, and remaps it the next time it's written.
Large numbers of Reallocs or Pending Sectors would suggest your drive is failing and that you may need to repair or replace your iPod. Check your stats after another attempt to update your iPod. If the numbers increase that again points to hard drive failure. While it won't be good news at least you'll know it isn't some random software problem and you can decide what to do next.
