Nokia e7 faulty enter key since v0.22 software upd...

hello.
Ever since the update i have found out that my enter key does not work on certain forums. Its a bit frustrating as the site im an admin on is one of those with this issue and im required to type out big long posts but cant but them into clear paragraphs without my enter key.
Any ideas? Not even sure what the upgrade did.
Thanks very much

certainly didn't expect this... turned off power saving
iwconfig wlan0 power off
and all is well again. Surely doesn't explain why it started after kernel update. But it works...

Can anyone give me an easy fix or tell me where i can get the lock key repaired as it seems to be stuck in the handset? Ive tried the obvious trouble shooting suggestions and still not working. I don't want to fiddle with it causing further damage.

Hi, jamm118. Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions! We understand that you already have tried some basic troubleshooting steps to resolve this. But, we'd just like to verify if you have tried to properly remove & reinstall your battery cover:
At the top corner of your phone, put the nail of your index finger in the seam between the screen frame and the back cover. Press the middle of the back cover, and bend the cover to loosen the top hooks. Remove the cover. Do not use any sharp tools, as they may damage the screen.
If the issue remains, you can take it to a Nokia Care Point, as previously advised by @93tid

  • Blue "Change" button does not respond to enter key (OS X)

After entering a new Time in the "Edit Capture Time" screen you select change and the new time is applied. This could be done by selecting the "change" button with the mouse or by hitting the return key or the enter key (since "change" is the blue highlighted button). But in Lightroom 3 and now in Lightroom 4B the enter key doesn't work. Can you please fix this bug. Thanks!

Just to be sure, I updated the program as follows. Click on the mouse to request focus and then hit enter key.
Click on the mouse prints the String "enter key pressed". Then press the Enter key..no action activated.

  • Since upgrading to Firefox 10.0.2 my AVG extension has had to be disabled, as after typing in any web address in the address bar, the enter key had no effect and I could not go to the site without pressing the Reload arrow on right.

I have recently upgraded Firefox to the latest version 10.0.2. After that I could not enter any website address and press the enter key and get to the website, nor could I select a website from the dropdown list of previously visited websites. The only way I could get there was by pressing the arrow on the right side of the address box (Reload current page). Once I disabled the AVG extension, everything worked normally. As soon as I enabled the AVG extension, it stopped working again.

Follow these steps for the controls to work:
    # Start > Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox
    # Find the “Tools” menu at the top of the browser window and select “Add-ons”.
    # Click on the “Extensions” icon to make sure you’re in the correct option menu.
    # Locate “AVG Safe Search” and click on the containing line to highlight and select the add-on.
    # Click the “Disable” button and close the Add-ons window.
    # Close down any Firefox windows you may have open.
    # That’s It – You’re Done!

    Just an advise
On it's first time fully charge and discharge - vice versa for three times. After that don’t drain your battery every day to 10-20% of its charge. You can actually expect battery problems by draining the battery frequently.
Roughly every 30 charges, deliberately discharge your battery to 10-15%, and fully charge to 100% afterwards.
This will help maintain the accuracy of the “fuel gauge” on the device (your battery meter or scale). It has nothing to do with the battery memory but helps maintain the accuracy of the device’s percentage of battery charge left.

  • Buttons and enter key problem

    hello,
there are a few projects of enterprise quality which I am developing in java swing. I found out through research that many or rather most people involved with java believe that swing is ready for enterprise class robust desktop applications.
so I as the team leador am starting my new projects in java swing.
I personally find that the amount of java libraries present provide a rich set of functionality and it gives big mussle power to the developers.
I am only concerned about one problem which many of you might have solved.
I find that I have to hit the space bar instead of enter key to fire an action. in languages like vb I can press enter key to fire the click events. specially in menu items I certainly don't expect my clients to press the spacebar. besides there are many people who are so used to the keyboard and enter key in particular that it will be hard or rather next to impossible to change their habbits.
how can I make the menu items work with the enter key. I mean do I need to create the code for keypress events every time I also create an action performed method? or is there a way where I can do it without extra coding.
it is just that I don't want to right extra code for enter key along with click events.
    one more important note.
I am a blind person and I use the access bridge technology of java.
so when I am involved in coding, I use the same.
so may be my problem isn't a problem in the first place.
    kindly provide me some help
    thanks
    Krishnakant.

The enter-key works on menu-items in all my applications. It did so since I started with java few years ago.
Maybe some other problem (OS-specific) ?

I need to reprogram the delete and enter key to the left side of a external keyboard for the ipad mini. I don't need the caps/lock or ctrl key. Due to a brain injury my daughter can only use her left hand to type. She also uses a text to speech app to verbalize all of her needs since her speech isn't intelligible any longer either. And her vision was significantly affected also, so the keyboard has to be mounted about 6 inches from her face. So to reach across the keyboard with her left hand to the right side delete and enter button is physically difficult and causes typing errors, which cause people to not understand what shes trying to say.
The best keyboard so far is the Zagg folio mini. I just had to make stickers to enlarge the letters on the key buttons.
Does anyone know how I can reprogram these two keys? Or where I can buy a wireless mini keyboard for Ipad made for lefthanders with these two functions on the left side. I have searched for days and days. It's sooooo important to me that she be able to contribute her voice again. Imagine if you got in a car accident and couldn't speak clearly any longer, but understood everything still. Thanks for any help and suggestions you all take the time to share with me. I really appreciate the kindness of strangers to help me help my daughter.

  • Lose of focus (mouse click/enter key)

    Hello,
we have a problem customers are complaining about for quite a while now, but despite our efforts, we can not fix it or at least determine with certainty the problem cause.
We have an application launching forms apps, and from time-to-time we completely lose the focus on this form (generally after typing ENTER in a filter), I mean by focus, we cannot click anymore (cursor seems to stay on a object), we cannot press enter anymore (we get a 'Not defined key function') and so on...
I heard somewhere that it could be due to 'KEY-OTHERS' trigger not handling correctly the ENTER-KEY. But I need this trigger for my filters, or is there another way? KEY_ENTER does only navigate from field to another.
I found something which was able to remove focus lost (kind of a hack while trying to fix this on an on), but the problem is I had to remove this, because it blocks the opening of new windows or popups. It was a mouse-click trigger on forms triggers level:
    Go_Record(:System.Mouse_record);
    Go_Item(:System.Mouse_Item);
But this blocks any window opening, and it also blocks some other tools we have developed.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    G.

this problem occurs with some of versions of JRE. Try with JRE JInitiator 1.3.1.22. Also unstalled all others JRE if exists.
A file called fmrpcweb.res has also been provided which gives the Microsoft Windows client/server keyboard mappings. To use this file, rename fmrpcweb.res to fmrweb_orig.res, and copy fmrpcweb.res to fmrweb.res. Alternatively, use the term parameter as described above.
By default, whether deploying client/server or over the Web pressing the ENTER key takes the cursor to the next navigable item in the block. To override this default behavior it is necessary to modify the forms resource file to revise the key mapping details.
Modify fmrweb.res and change the Forms Function Number (FFN) from 27 to 75 for the Return Key. The line should be changed to the following:
    10 : 0 : "Return" : 75 : "Return"
By default, the line is displayed with an FFN of 27 and looks as follows:
    10 : 0 : "Return" : 27 : "Return"
This line should NOT fire the Key-Enter trigger since the Return or Enter key is actually returning the Return function represented by the FFN of 27. The FFN of 75 represents the Enter function and fires the Key-Enter trigger.

  • Enter key instead of TAB key

    Hi folks,
I'd like to make the ENTER key behave the same way as the TAB key in
the system I'm developing. I thought I would be able to do it by setting
the ENTER as a function key (using Window.SetAsFunctionKey), and
then after detecting an ENTER key press, request focus on the current
fieldwidget's 'NextTabField'. However, this attribute defaults to NIL unless
you override the default TAB sequence. And I don't really fancy setting
the Next and Prev TabField for every onscreen field.
Anyone done this before using a simpler method?
By the way, I don't really want to get into a long thread about whether it is
good practice to bypass Windows (TM) standards or not. We require
fast data entry, and keyboard entry is essential for that.

    Duncan,
The application we are building will replace legacy application and had similar
requirements to accommodate the current users. We solved this problem by creating a
special frame, appropriately named as the "Terminal Frame". It is distributed as
    part of the Scaffolds framework.
The Terminal frame implements ENTER instead of TAB key. As you know the tabbing
order in a terminal frame (top to bottom, left to right) is different than windows
tabbing order (left to right, top to bottom). The Terminal frame solves the tabbing
problem by constructing a "field traverse list" which includes all the fields in a
window including nested views ordered according to their X,Y co-ordinates. It is a
recursive method works on the same lines as described by Sakharov, Nickolay in
earlier mail. The method also sets the NextTabField, PrevTabField references for
each field in the traverse list.
This framework is working very well for us. In a terminal frame world, you still
have some user training issues as some of the fields (OutlineField, DropList,
ArrayField, CheckBoxe etc.) behave differently for ENTER and TAB keys. But these
are minimal compared to a complete change in style.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Good Luck,
    Shirish

Do the math on this one. Be sure your users understand the cost and the

there is a good reason, but this reason just doesn't add up. Even if it
did slow them down, which it won't, they would never lose enough time to be
worth the work that it would take to implement.Jeanne,
Thanks for your reply (even though it doesn't help me!).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating we abandon the TAB key
functionality in favour of the ENTER key. I just want to ADD the ENTER
key as a navigational aid for our 'legacy' users (and we have many). If it
is done right, there should be no need to tell the user about it. Their
transition to the new product would be virtually painless.
Since I posted my original question I've realised that the cost of
implementation is actually fairly low. And this is why. I have just
discovered that the default tab order defined by Forte (left to right, top to
bottom) is essentially useless for most of the windows we will be creating.
Therefore, we will need to override it by explicitly setting the
"NextTabField" and "PrevTabField" attributes of our input fields in virtually
every window. As I am writing the framework for our new product, I will
have to implement the facility to do this in the framework itself. And if we
have our tab order defined, then adding the ENTER key functionality is
minimal extra effort (see my original post). In fact, if I implement it in my
"CoreWindow" (the root of my windows framework inheritence tree), then
no-one will ever have to deal with it again.
The TAB key is not even much of a windows data-entry standard. Many
of our customers have defined secondary systems using Microsoft
Access, and it uses the ENTER key (along with the TAB key) to move
from field to field. Will these customers not complain that they cannot
use the ENTER key to move between fields if we don't implement it?
As we do not have the resources to completely rewrite our existing
COBOL system (over 2 million lines of code) in one go. We will be rolling
out the new system module by module. This means that a lot of our users
will be switching between the new windows interface and the text-based
unix telnet sessions. When I switch back and forth between windows
editors and 'vi' on the unix host, I experience first-hand how mixed
    navigational facilities can hamper productivity!
Anyway, I was just hoping there might be a little setting somewhere in
Forte to switch this on, but as no-one has pointed it out, it seems unlikely.
Thanks again for your input, lively discussion is always welcome.

  • Using the enter key on an editable table

    Hi,
I'm using 11g adf and I can't figure out how to get past this:
When going through an editable table (with editingMode="editAll") using the enter key, it will stop after a certain number of rows, equal to the value of fetchSize. If I want to go down further, I have to scroll down another way to make it fetch the next set of rows, it won't go to the next row with the enter key. It simply won't execute the query to fetch the next rows.
Increasing the fetchSize will just delay the problem to a row further down (and decrease the performance since the fetch operation can take quite a bit longer).
I've tried to put a clientListener on both the table or the inputText fields to intercept the enter key, but that won't work when the table is in editable mode.
Is there any way to fix this problem?

    Hi,
I've tried to put a clientListener on both the table or the inputText fields to intercept the enter key, but that won't work when the table is in editable mode.
The clientListener needs to be on the inputText fields. Then in JS you need to call a server listener which will check if the current row is already at the range end and if calls NextSet (you can provide this as a method binding). Unfortunately after this you will need to PPR the table to show the new rows. This is how I would try it.

but im not able to do that since the function is always called when i press a push button on the screen.... can any one help me in this.. please....

    Hi John,
You are not getting any value in SY-UCOMM when you press "Enter",because the function code is not set for 'Enter" key in "Function Key" of the GUI-STATUS..
First define some fucntion code say 'ENT' for the Enter button available in "Fucntion key" of the GUI status.Once you done and activate the program and test it.The function code which u defined will be coming to SY-UCOMM field when you press 'ENTER" button and you can handle the various fucntionality whichevcer you want on "ENTER" .
    Eg:
    case sy-ucomm.
    When 'ENT'.
    Endcase.

  • How to select an item from a dropdown menu using Enter key

A website I frequently use opens with a dropdown menu. Using my former browser, I was able to select the an item from the dropdown list by hitting the first letter with my keyboard and then hitting Enter. (Think of entering an address and selecting TX from a dropdown menu of states. Often you can hit T twice to get to TX and then the Enter key will advance the cursor to the zip code field.) Since converting to Firefox, the Enter key no longer works to advance to the next screen...I now have to move the mouse to a "Go" button and click it after selecting the desired item from the downdown menu. It's a small thing, but constantly switching back and forth between mouse and keyboard is becoming annoying. Is there an option in Firefox to select items simply by highlighting them in the dropdown menu and hitting the Enter key, instead of having to use the mouse to click a "Go" button? Thanks

  • Broken enter key

    Hello,
My display on my MacBook Pro had recently died so i got it repaired about a month ago, it wasn't under warranty but was a known hardware issue so was replaced free of charge. I was also told i got a 3 month warranty of some sort.
Since i got it back i found out my enter key is now broken. When using it would sometimes fall off and id have to re-attach it. From what i can see when the enter key comes off is one of the tiny plastic clips is snapped off which i think causes this.
Would this warranty i got from the known hardware issue cover this? I'm also sure that my enter key was fine before i got it repaired so im pretty sure that Apple Support may have broke it.
a picture can be attached if required
    Thanks,
    Lachlan

Would this warranty i got from the known hardware issue cover this?
Probably not; warranties on a repair usually only apply to the issue of the repair. But you can call Apple and discuss it with them.
I'm also sure that my enter key was fine before i got it repaired so im pretty sure that Apple Support may have broke it.
Again, call and discuss it with Apple tech support. You may have a hard time convincing them that it wasn't broken when you sent the system in, but you can talk it over with them.
If it's the key cap itself that's broken and not the switch, you can order a new key cap. PowerBookMedic is one source, though the shipping to Australia may well be multiple times what the key cap itself will cost. Perhaps there's a source of parts in Australia, though I haven't found one when doing a quick search.
EDIT: AB's advice is well taken: don't delay in reporting the broken key, to Apple if they repaired the system or to the service center if your MBP was repaired by an independent service center. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be for you to convince them that the system was damaged in their keeping or during shipment.
