  • E65 + Nokia 610 car Kit ?

    Hi all,
I currently have a 6230i and a nokia 610 car kit, all works fine most of the time.
I plan to get a E65, but I want to be 100% sure it is compatible with car kiy 610.
On this forum I only found 1 topic stating there is a bug in downloading contacts, wich seems to be confirmed over the internet.
    QUESTIONS :
    - Is there an official answer from Nokia ? or do they just let us test and find out on our own ?
    - did anyone already had both working together with no problem ?
    Thanks for your answers ;-)

  • Can't connect or reset Nokia 616 car kit

I've just bought a used car which has Nokia 616 Car kit fitted. I can't connect as either user and I can't get to the infamous standby screen to get into the menu to do a reset of the settings. I've tried holding down the "hang up" button to get to the screen but nothing.
I really would like to get this piece of kit working as I will find it very useful.
    Any help is very appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ant

Not sure myself, but tyr disconnecting the power from the kit as I think that will reset it.
If not go into the bluetooth menu of the kit and reset it

  • Nokia 610 car kit and Nokia 6500 Classic phone

    Hi,
Has anyone else had problems connecting a Nokia 6500 Classic to a Nokia 610 car kit. The handset won't remember the pairing and I have to enter the 16 digit passkey every time I start up the car, even althouth the "remember pairing" feature is activated. Other models of Nokia handsets connect fine

I have managed to download the contacts with the N95 by installing the "download Contacts" application on the N95.
You HAVE to make sure that the paring between the two phones is deleated, then that the "download contacts" app is running on the N95 before assigning the SIM again from the 610, entering the passcode and then choose YES to the questian "Download contacts?"
The only problem is then that the contacts display as Lastname/firstname as opposed to firstname/lastname which is my preference and I cannot for the life of me seem to be able to change this. Still I cant have everything I suppose. At least its keeping the pairing without having to enter the passcode everytime which is still the case with the 6500.
Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this passcode problem? Or been able to display the contacts downloaded from an N95 as firstname/lastname?
    best regards.

  • N8 with Nokia 616 car kit

Advice anyone? I'm pretty sold on getting an N8, due to the fact that Nokia seem to build a robust phone that gets better reception than most others when used as a phone. The only real issue at the moment seems to be that it will not be compatible with my nokia 616 car kit (possibly the best car kit ever made, and still being sold today). Does anybody know if there will be an upgrade to get around this issue or, any other solution? I gather that it's possible to get other makes of 'smartphones' with BT3 to connect and work with the 616... so why can't the N8, especially seeing as they both have NOKIA stamped on them??

I do not have N8, i have N97mini... but i have that carkit.
My findings are that with E71 and N97mini there was trouble involved. You can pair, you need a special software on E71 to get the contacts downloaded, and both do loose connection after a while.
Sometimes there is no connection at all, and then you have to switch off and on the bluetooth on the phone to get it working again.
E71 then was obviously fixed with new firmware. Bluetooth was stable after the update. On N97mini i am still waiting for some improvement.
Did also monitor car-bluetooth topics in this board. There are several users complaining, that their devices did work with very old mobiles, but not with the newer ones.

  • Connection lost between Nokia 616 Car Kit and a No...

I recently upgraded from a Nokia 9300 to an E71, but retained my Nokia 616 Car Kit. The Nokia website confirms that the E71 and 616 are compatible. My E71 has been paired with the 616 and configured as User 1 in remote SIM mode. The E71 Bluetooth settings have been set up so that it will connect automatically, without asking authorisation every time.
The E71 connects to the car kit without a problem, when the car is started, but often looses the connection during the trip. The 616 will then display “Connection Lost”, followed by the request “Reconnect to User 1?”. Strangely the black “User 1” phone icon is still displayed in the top right-hand corner of the 616 display. When I push the Navi Wheel it attempts to reconnect, but every time it comes back with the message “User 1 Not Found”, despite the fact that the phone has not been moved and is still less than 1m from the 616 controller. I can only reconnect after the vehicle had been switched off and restarted, i.e. when the 616 reboots.
Why does it frequently loose connection? A number of times I have noticed that it looses connection when I drive through an area with no or a very weak cell phone signal. I don’t think the cell phone signal strength should have an effect on the Bluetooth connection between phone and car kit.
Why won’t it re-connect? I can’t stop and switch off the car every time the connection is lost!
    Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, I have bought a car with this equipment and I have the same problem.
    I tried following:
    PAIRING:
    - first from the phone discover Bluetooth accessories - it will find the N616
    - enter the code to the phone
    - N616 ask for the same code as you enter to the phone - enter it
After this, the phone is paired, but not connected.
    CONNECTING:
    - then set up Bluetooth in the phone as visible
    - try connect (as user 1 or user 2) from N616 to the phone - you do not need to specify which phone has N616 to find - it will find your phone if it is visible (one step before)
    - if everything is OK, your phone is connected
    - you can access the menu, reset N616 to factory settings - but you need to make all steps again
This list works for me, any other steps not...

  • Will N900 support Nokia's Car-Kit?

    As for the subject....

Though you'd have to check for compatibility with individual models of Nokia car kit once they publish that information, not all Nokia devices are compatible with all Nokia car kits. If you are buying a new car kit or wanting to know it the N900 will work with a kit that you already have, best option if to keep your money in your pocket until Nokia publishes the info in the "accessories" pages of the web site.

  • Nokia 610 Car kit / phone

Hi, I have a 610 car kit and would like to buy a new phone, dose any body have a list of compatible bluetooth phones?

Long and short of it, good luck with your new phone. Nokia have still gone without explanation as to why their 6280 and later phones would not operate with the 610 despite the fact that the handsets do support Bluetooth Remote SIM Access mode. Seems like the moderators here are quicker to delete a controversial topic than to explain the decisions they make.
If you had a 616 and Nokia pulled the same stunt in the future, you would at least have a good chance of the newer phone working in normal handsfree mode as opposed to SIM access. Some 6280 users have reported that they have been able to get the 610 kit to work with it but that's blind luck considering Nokia insist that the 6280 is not compatible with the 610.
My best advice to you with your current setup is to ask the salesman if you can both go to your vehicle and test the phone's compatibility. If it functions, then you're onto a winner. If not, buy a 616 kit, change over the display unit and main unit (the display unit may look the same, but its firmware isn't) and then eBay the 610!
I'm just glad I bought a 616 from the get go.

  • Upgrade a Nokia 6310i car kit to a new Nokia?

I bought a car with a car kit installed which fitted a Nolia 6310i. I then bought a CARK 91 kit so I could use my Nokia 3410. I want to upgrade my phone to something like a N96 or even a Samsung or Sony Ericsson, however do I need to have my car kit taken out and a new one installed, or can they just replace the handset holder?

The cark-91 is not upgradeable to work with any of the phones you listed, As Okinawa has mentioned above, click the link to view all the new Nokia car kits, there new kits will work with any of the phones you have listed.

  • Nokia 8800 car kit connection

I have recently bought a car that came with a standard car kit, i think it is the most popular business kit, the CK-7W. This fits all recent models of nokia pone accept the 8800 and maybe a few others, i was wondering if there is a connection i can get to connect my 8800 to this kit, i am currently using a Nokia PPH-1 car kit that plugs into the cigarette lighter port but this is poor quality and a phone of this quality should surely have some sort of connection available. Can anybody advise me of this...
    Thanks!

the Nokia 8800 should work with a ck-7w, you may have to reset the memory to make room for new connections. Press and hold Nokia button on dash till it bleeps, if this dont work find the brain box and unplug, it may need a power reset.

  • Nokia 610 car kit

Please help! I have the above car kit and I think it's great, everyone is impressed who gets in my car. However I would like to change my phone as it's getting very old and I've had it since it came out, so a few years!! It's a 6230. I'm desperate to take advantage of some of these new contract deals with free gifts etc but can't as I've been told the kit can't be used with any other phone. Is this true? Can someone please give me the good news that another Nokia phone can work with it so I can upgrade! Or can I buy some new software for the kit instead of having to buy a whole new system?

    Hello,
I had same problem with E51 and Carphone Kit Nokia 610. After long research i got it done.
    1. Step download and install Nokia 610 Contact Download Application for Nokia S60 3rd edition devices On your E51. It is available on the Nokia site:
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4160018
    2. Step Connect the Car phone 610 with your E51
important!!! if you tried this before with your phone delete all saved Bluetooth connections in your carphone and in your E51.
switch on the bluetooth in your phone and start the Contact Download Application. It is important that it is running during the connection procedure between carphone and E51!
I hope I don't have to tell you that the phone must be visible and the remote SIM mode has to be enabled.
Switch on the carphone choose external Sim Card and search for Bluetooth devices. When your Phone got found try to connect. You will be asked for a access code, wait some seconds and in the display of the carphone will appear a 16 digit code. Accept it and wait until your E51 is responding. Type in in your E51 the 16 digits code and the carphone and E51 get connected.
    3. Copy the contacts:
after the connection is established the Carphone askes for copying the contacts from the phone. Confirm and the Copy procedure is starting automaticly.
When i was trying it, it was not working the first time. But the next time when i was starting my Carphone the connection was done automaticly and the Copying of the contacts also worked fine.
    Ciao Tim

  • Nokia 610 car Kit and E 61 phone contacts

    Hi
I have just got the E 61 which is working great except for uploading my contacts to the 610 car kit. Anyone any ideas? I have checked out a few discussion groups and they looked hopeful but when I tried some of the recommendations they didn't seem to work.

Hi and I just got a E61i and I understand thatI am unable to use a motorola blue tooth and the amazing thing is that I was using the motorola blue tooth on a 7610 phone which was more than two years old.
Also do you have any idea as to how I could activiate the dictionary option when typing a SMS.

  • Nokia 610 Car Kit & 6230i - HELP!

I've just had a used 610 installed in my car. Although I've been able to pair the 6230i handset to the 610, I don't seem to be able to get the menu up on the 610 or assign the SIM from the handset to the active user profile of the 610.
    Can anyone advise please?
    Thanks

    Thanks Sage...now I seem to be making progress...however -
    - Rotate wheel until you see 'User 1: Assign SIM card'
    - Push wheel - OK
    - Rotate wheel until you see 'Device: Search for Bluetooth devs.'-OK
    - Push wheel -OK
    - 610 will search for BT devices -OK
    - Rotate wheel to select your phone -OK
    - Push wheel - OK
    - THEN...System goes into 'searching' mode and stays like like that for ever. I've deleted old pairing attempt from my handset...do I need to do same for 610 maybe?

  • Can anyone recommend a car kit for the Nokia 6131?

I'm looking for a car kit for my 6131 and I'm a bit baffled by all of the options I've found on the internet.
All I really need is a nice neat mobile holder and a charger. The holder should not be the type that attaches to the air vents; I had one of those once before and it just made the car look untidy!
I already have access to a Jabra BT250 bluetooth earpiece so I'm assuming that if the phone is in its cradle I'll be able to use that to make and answer calls. Otherwise I don't mind buying a bluetooth car kit if it's a better option.
I noticed on another thread that someone was recommending the wireless plug in hands free HF-6W to a 6131 owner, but the phone isn't listed as compatible with that on Nokia's web site. In fact, if you look at the compatibility details for all of Nokia's car kits, the 6131 isn't listed as compatible with any of them!
Any recommendations for the best holder and charger for the 6131, or a single unit that combines both?

The only way to connect this phone to a car kit is via a bluetooth connection, the ck-7w would be suitable for this. There is no specific holder for this phone so you would need a universal holder, i suggest that you buy a specific non damaging bracket for your car to mount this on to give you the best position.

  • Curve 8520 link to Nokia hands free kit.

I have just acquired a car with a nokia "Advanced Car Kit CK-7W" fitted. My Blackberry works with it very well. In fact too well. It tries to dial the last number I spoke to, numerous times, then sequentially goes through other previous calls. It will also switch to voice mail. Very frustrating when driving. I have switched phone off when not making a call but this stops incoming calls.
    Help

You will have to remove the screw hiding behind the nokia badge in the middle of the cradle to remove the cradle, then you can look at the part number on the rear, otherwise you can look at the nokia accesories page to see if you can identify the cradle.
