Nokia E71 Difference between Switch mode and Profi...

I have Nokia E71, Phone having option to switch modes and also we have profile option.
Can some body explain the difference between switch mode and having different profile ?.
Thanks

The profile impacts things like default ringtone, vibration settings, etc.
With the mode switching you can also switch active standby applications and plugins (e.g., work vs. free time).
Personally, I don't use the modes, and with profiles, I only use "General" and "Silent" and don't bother with others.

  • Difference between bridge mode and routed mode on CSS

    Hi,
Could some one tell me the difference between routed mode and bridge mode.
    Regards
    Neha

    Hi,
    routed mode:
The CSS acts as a router, it routes packets from the client to the server. The server has the ACE configured as default-gateway.
There is a client-side VLAN and a server-side VLAN. These VLANs have different subnets.
    Bridged mode:
The CSS acts as a bridge, it switches frames from the client to the server. The server has the upstream router configured as default-gateway.
There is a client-side VLAN and a server-side VLAN. These VLANs have the same subnet, but different VLAN IDs. The ACE bridges the client traffic from the client-side VLAN to the server-side VLAN.
Bridged mode would be most used in case one cannot change the servers IP addresses, or if address space is an issue.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards,

  • What is difference between TEXT mode and BINARY mode?

    Hi,
What is difference between TEXT mode and BINARY mode? In TEXT mode what is "ENCODING DEFAULT".
    OPEN DATASET wl_filename FOR INPUT
                              IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
      OPEN DATASET wl_filename FOR INPUT
                              IN BINARY MODE .

    Hi vishnu,
    1. files like .TXT files are considered to be text,
and other files like .EXE . DOC etc are binary files.
    2. In text files, after each line, there are two
       internal binary characters
one for line feed and another one for newline.
    3. But, we don't have any meaning for it,
when we view such files in notepad, for eg.
Hence, to only get the understandable content,
we should open such TXT files, in text mode.
(we can also open them in binary mode,
but we will get two extra characters after each line,
and such two extra characters are meaningless
      for interpreting the text)
    4. In binary mode, each byte by byte is considered,
       without any meaning.

  • Difference between Business area and profit center accounting

    Hi Frnds,
Can any body explain about difference between business area and profit center accounting .

    Hi
Business area will have many profit centers. For example Vehicle is a business area in a company. Vehicle can be cars and Bikes etc. Here Vehicle is business area and Cars and Bike are profit centers. In broad Vehicle is a profit center. But as it has sub areas those are profit centers. So profit centers cannot be replaced with business area and vice versa. We can replace business area by Profit centre, only condition is that it should be in same controlling area. The business area is more like a business unit of a company. You can have multiple profit centers within a business area.
Main distinguish factor is that distribution and assessment in possible in profit center but not in business area.
One more distinction is that Business area need not be attached to any organisation structure. But profit centres can be created only under the controlling area. Business area can be across controlling area.
Business area concept is used for making stragic decisions by the management whereas the primary purpose of profit centre accounting is responsibility accounting.

  • Difference between Switch -off and disable of an aggregate.

    Hi All,
Can any one please tell me whats the difference between Switch-off and Disable an aggregate?
    Appreciate ur help.
    Thanks,
    Soumya.

    Hi,
You can temporarily switch off an aggregate to check if you need to use it. An aggregate that is switched off is not used when a query is executed.
To do this select the relevant aggregate and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Switch On/Off. An aggregate that is switched off is marked in column Filled/Switched off with This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
Since aggregates that are switched off must also be consistent, you do not have to activate the aggregate again or to fill it when you switch it back on.
Execute a query or trace that would use the aggregate that was switched off. Compare the time that the database needs with the time that the query needs when using the aggregate. If the query is not significantly slower without the aggregate, you can deactivate or delete the aggregate.
The system deletes all the data and database tables of an aggregate. The definition of the aggregate is not deleted.
    Deactivation
Select the required aggregate and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Deactivate.
The status display in the columns Status and Filled/switched off change back to This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
If you want to, you can activate and fill the aggregate again later.

  • Re: Difference between switcher component and router activity

    Hi all,
Here i want to know the difference between switcher component and router activity.
Can anybody give the difference between them or suggest any blog for this.
    Thanks,
    Syam

<af:switcher> component is an ADF Faces component. You can use it within (the source of) a JSF page or fragment to include a particular group of other JSF components depending on the switcher expression's value.
Router activity is not a JSF component, i.e. you cannot use it within a JSF page of fragment. It is an ADF taskflow activity. You can use it as an activity within an ADF Taskflow to route transitions between some other activities in the taskflow depending on the router's expression.

  • Difference between  business area and profit center

    hi all
could you please tell me about difference between business area and
    profitcenter.
    thanks,
    regards,
    chennuri.

    HI
    Read below
Profit Center - The profit center view shows the various
internal areas of responsibilities. Objects such as cost
centers, materials, etc can be used for profit center
analysis. Profit center can be used to determine the
revenues, costs, and profitability for specfic areas of
    responsibility.
Business Area - Business area forms an important part of
external reporting. Analysis of various segments, product
divisions, regions etc is possible using business areas.
    Business Area: This is optional
This can be used cross compane codes
    This is for Internal Purpose
It is not Legal Entity like Co Code
The transation entered in Business are, Debit total will
    not tally with credit total
Since it is used for segment wise or area wise or line wise
this is used for internal report purpose only .
Balance Shhet and P & L stataments can be drawn on segment
    wise
Profit Centre: Generally in terms of SAP or Finance the
meaning of Profit centre is to know the profitabilty.
In same manner , The managers  wants to know the ROI from
their investments, obviously we nned to use the tool.
This ROI may be geographically or area wise or division
wise. P.C provided us profitablity of the particular area
for internal purpose ( Only for Internal )
Business Area is an optional entry.Whenever company wants
financial statements businessarea wise we can maintain
BAs.And also we can maintain BA as Segment Wise,Product
    Wise,Geographical Location wise.
Profit center is used to know the profits of companies.PC
is also used for to know the profits as aProduct
    wise,Segment wise,geographical location wise.If anything
wrong inthis answer plz correct me..
    Hope this helps

  • Difference between Cost center and profit center

I need to know what the difference is between a cost center and a profit center eg. A work center has both a cost center and a profit center. What do they collect for that particular work center.
    Thanks

    hi tefo
differenc is whatever the cost involved will be collected both to the cost center and profit center, when we settle the order it will be settled in the cost element for cost center. the cost will be reflected in profit center which is assinged to the particular cost center.in profit center you can cpature revenue also which is used to map the profit loss for the concern, where as cost center will only capture the expenses

  • Difference between switch logfile and checkpoint

    Hi All,
    what is the difference between
    Forcing log file switches:
    ALTER SYSTEM switch logfile;
    and
    ALTER SYSTEM checkpoint;
when i should use one and not use the other
    Thanks very much

I don't know that checkpoint will increase the scn. In a way it can be called correct but there are multitudes of SCN floating around. For example, for the matching of the datafiles and controlfles, there are two scn's which are used, stop scn and checkpoint scn. Than for the block, there can be , commit scn , transaction scn , High scn and low scn. There is one counter that is there for both checkpoint and SCN and checkpoint number is generated from SCN itself. I am sure that there is a missing link here some where but still, to some extent this is correct.
Checkpointing is an event which happens at certain conditions and SCN is always there, just like in a clock, there is always a time.

  • What is the difference between Bridge Mode and sharing a public ip address?

    Hello,
I would like to understand this difference, in general terms, and also in the context of my setup:
I have an office inside a business center where we are assigned a fixed ip address per computer, and I don't know whether it is better to use bridge mode or to share a public ip address in order to use the benefits of the new time capsule: internet access, hard drive sharing, mobile me back to my mac? Back to my mac does not seem to be working and I get the message that I net a modem with NAT protocol bla bla bla...but I'm also not sure whether the problem is with the setup as the manufacturer claims the protocol is supported.
    Thank you for the help

"...share a public ip address..." enables the DHCP/NAT service on the Time Capsule.
"...bridge mode..." disables the DHCP/NAT service on the Time Capsule.

  • Which is the difference between field mode and frame mode in interlacing?

Which is the best one for moving objects?

An interlacing camera actually takes two pictures to create each picture you see. These pictures are taken a fraction of a second apart, which allows the object of interest to move.
First, the camera takes a picture using the odd lines of the sensor. This is the first field. About 1/60 of a second later, it takes a picture using the even lines of the camera. This is the second field. The two pictures are combined by the frame grabber by interlacing the lines, which creates the frame you normally see as the image.
In frame mode, the two fields are combined to make a single image. In field mode, you get the odd lines as an image, and the even lines as a separate image.
When capturing a moving object, it is best to use a progressive scan (non-interla
ced) camera, which takes a picture using all of the lines simultaneously.
If you only have an interlaced camera, your best option is probably field mode, because the object doesn't have a chance to move. There are a couple of drawbacks to field mode, though. The height of your image is only half what it should be, which distorts everything and makes it difficult for measurements and the like. Also, the odd and even images are shifted by one line, so the live image appears to vibrate slightly if there is a lot of detail. You can't compare two consective images, because they are odd and even fields.
    I hope this helps.

  • Difference between DEVELOPMENT mode and PRODUCTION MODE.

    Hi Gurus,
We installed oracle 11g Fusion on our machines and while creating a soa domain we selected development mode, then our B2B performance is completely slow then we later changed it to Production mode, then it was pretty good.
While installing weblogic (10.3..3), which One you prefer and JDK(Jrockit 4 or jdk 1.6.0021)
While installing SOA and ADF after running a config.sh file it will prompt for JDK( Which one is preferble)
And same as while creating a SOA domain which one you prefer (JDK or Jrockit)
    Regards
    RAJ

    Hi Raj,
As the name indicates, Development mode should be chosen for development environments where load is not too heavy and performance/throughput may be slow but all the features will be same as production mode. Production mode is used on a licensed software and it gives better performance and throughput, even it may bear the heavy load as well.
For Development environment (Dev mode) you should use sun JDK and for production mode JRockit should be used.

  • Difference between open loop and closed loop mode when finding the index on a stepper motor axis.

I have a test system which uses a PXI-7352 motion controller with a MID-7602 stepper motor drive to position a 200 step/revolution stepper motor with an attached 1000 line encoder.  The MID-7602 is configured for 64 microsteps per step, giving 12,800 microsteps and 4000 encoder counts per revolution.  The system is controlled using LabView 7.1 and NI-Motion 6.13.  To home the motor, I've defined a sequence in MAX which first finds the reverse limit switch and then moves forward to the encoder index pulse.
When finding its reference in open loop mode, the system its reference at the same microstep each time.  When findings its reference in closed loop mode, the system finds its reference somewhere within about a 20 microstep wide range.
I hope somebody out there with more experience with this controller can describe the difference between finding the encoder index in open loop mode and finding the encoder index in closed loop mode.
    Thanks,
    Mark Moss

    Hello Mark,
I suspect that the behavior you are experiencing has today
with the resolution difference between your encoder and your
microstepping.  Let me illustrate with an
    example:
    Example Setup
    Stepper
    Motor
    NI
    Motion Controller
    10
steps per encoder pulse (Every 10 steps the controller gets an encoder
pulse, therefore positions 0-9 all appear to be 0 to the controller)
    The
system has a maximum of 3 pull in moves set
    Open Loop Scenario
    The
system is commanded to go to position 9.
    The
    controller sends out 9 pulses.
    The
    motor moves to position 9.
    Closed Loop Scenario
    The
system is commanded to go to position 9.
    The
    controller sends out 9 pulses.
    The
    motor moves to position 9.
    The
controller checks its position and sees that it is still at position 0
because it has not received an encoder pulse.
    Because
the controller thinks it is still at position 0, it sends another 9 pulses
as its first pull in move.
    The
    motor moves to position 18.
    The
controller checks its position and sees that it is at position 10 because
it has only received one encoder pulse.
    Because
the controller thinks it is still at position 10, it sends1 reverse pulse
as its second pull in move.
    The
    motor moves to position 17.
    The
controller checks its position and sees that it is at position 10 because
it has only received one encoder pulse.
    Because
the controller thinks it is still at position 10, it sends and additional
single reverse pulse as its third pull in move.
    The
motor moves to its final position of 16.
I believe something similar is happening with your
application as it looks for the index pulse.
Because the controller does not compensate for what it perceives as
position error in open loop mode, the motor always goes to the same commanded
position.  In closed loop mode, the motor
is bouncing around inside the single index encoder pulse trying to find a
    certain position.
There are several recommendations I can make towards
    correcting this behavior.  These
recommendations are in order of effectiveness:
    Setup
your system so that there are more encoder counts per revolution than
    steps per revolution.
    Turn
off pull-in moves by setting them to 0 in MAX.
    Use an
    open loop configuration.
    Play
around with the pull in window in MAX.
    Regards,
    Luke H
