Nokia e71 - Email set up wizard "unable to connect...

Okay well I have searched these forums and I can't find my answer so I will try it here...So I can veiw the person who had this phones email account, but I CANT set my new one up. I use the "email setup wizard" go into it, connect, and then it asks me my email address, I enter the CORRECT one and thats as far as this thing will let me go..I dont even get to the part where it asks me for a Password. after I enter my email address it tryes to connect to the server (which is yahoo mail) and then I get the message "Unable to connect to server. Try again later."....AND that's all it keeps doing. I have no clue how to set up an email on this phone. I use it with my WAN connection and with my providers internet and get the same message both times..I figured it would be easy but NOOOOO..so anyone have any ideas??? PLEASE HELP ME! this is making me mad!

You will need adjust the mail application's POP settings to get your Yahoo! Mail messages into it.
POP access is a service for owners of one of the following:
•Yahoo! Mail Pop Access & Forwarding
•Yahoo! Mail Plus Premium Services
•A Broadband account
•A Small Business account
To use an email client or application to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages, you may need to designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server. Consult your owner's manual for instructions on designating servers in the email application.
If you can't add new POP or SMTP servers, you will need to change your current server settings. Before you make any changes, write down your current settings. You might need to revert to your original settings later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses.
The following steps will help you find the POP settings for your Yahoo! Mail account and configure it:
Your phone email client or application will ask for these settings:
◦Incoming Mail Server (POP3)— for example, pop.mail.yahoo.com.
◦Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)— for example, smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
◦Account Name/Username, your Yahoo! Member ID— for example, myuserID.
◦Email address, your Yahoo! Mail address— for example, [email protected].
◦Password, your Yahoo! Mail password— for example, l0ngitudin*l
Notes:
•POP server settings may change from time to time and you should confirm the current POP server settings in Yahoo! Mail if it is not working.
As an alternative to configuring Yahoo! Mail POP mail configurations, go to:

Enter your phone number and send a link to your phone; the best Yahoo! Mail experience will be suggested to you.

Nokia E71- email client

ive got a Nokia E71, and ive set up my Email client to my gmail account and whenever I reply to an email the text box area were you type your message in always appears with the Recipient message and i dont want there message so i have to delete it and it takes for ever as i have to push the delete button everytime, i want to know if theres an easier way of doing this???

I've not seen a setting for not including the original message, but if you're holding the delete key down to delete the text letter by letter, there's a quicker way - hold the shift key down, and press the down button until you reach the end, that will select all the text, then just press delete once.

Nokia e71: Email Message playback for MFE?

I noticed last week that my e71 had a really cool feature. If I press and hold the the top left blue (menu) button a voice comes on and starts telling me about all the email messages (subject line) in my default Nokia POP Email Account.
Does anyone know how to do this for MFE? I have multiple email accounts setup on the phone so it would be nice to do this for all of them. Also, is there any thing else that can be done in this mode? For example, use voice commands to delete or read the email (not just the subject).

Go to emai.nokia.com, here you can reactivate your Nokia Messaging Account. As for the memory full, make sure you have the latest firmware, or you can contact Nokia Care who are very capable of helping you trouble shoot this.

E71 SIP Internet Tel says "Unable to connect to th...

Has anyone who had the error message "Unable to connect to the connection network" managed to find a solution?
There are over 2,000 references to this exact error message on Google - it is a huge problem that I hope Nokia are addressing.
When I try to connect to my WLAN service from the Internet Tel screen, the WLAN icon flashes briefly and them almost seems to crash itself. 60 seconds later the message Unable to connect to the connection network, comes up.

Hi Nokkyear. I have been having the same exact issue using my E51 since I got the phone two weeks ago. After plenty of stress and anger, I somehow got it to work just a few minutes ago.
In my case, I made the following change and was finally able to connect and make a test call:
1> Under Connections/SIP Settings, I changed the PUBLIC USERNAME to the full address (i.e. [email protected]). Previously I had the xxxx portion of the address.
I had also removed the appearances of the "sip:" prefix from the proxy address, the registrar address and the public username address. I would say that only after I did that, I was able to connect to my SIP server....HOWVEVER, upon review now as I write this post, I can see that the "sip:" prefix has returned to the entries.
Try this and see how it works.

E71 - Mail For Exchange Error - "Unable to connect...

I have one user that is getting "unable to connect. Retrying" when trying to sync email using MfE.
We have several other people using a combination of E71's and iPhones and they are all working fine.
I have added the users details to my iPhone and it syncs fine. I have tried the same user on another E71 and still get the errors.
If I just sync the contacts, they sync ok. Seem just to be that mail there is a problem with. I have changed the mail sync to 1 day and still no joy.
Anyone give me some pointers?

Nokia E71 Email Notifications

I have set my emails up in my phone and they get picked up fine and function as they should.
The only thing I am struggling with is sorting out the notifications on the home screen.
I can get email 1 to notify on the home screen or I can get email 2 to notify, but i cant get them to notify both at the same time.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this?

I cant seem to get none of my pop3 email accounts to work period on my new E71!!! I have cox and road runner is there certain settings or different port numbers for T-mobile??? Cant get yahoo mail to work properly either Help please!!

You need to supply much more information, such as the type of email acct your trying to set up, the mail account provider, and all of your current settings. However, it may be easier to look in the help section I'm sure your email provider, provides.

E71 email set up

I've been tryin to set up my email account on my E71 , however , it is only able to recieve incoming mails but not able to reply or send out mails.
Whenever i try to send out a mail , it prompts " Internet : server not found "
In my email settings, whenever i tried to input "25" in the port , it will change back to default.
Any answers to this ?

Nokia E71 email read receipt

I'm currently using a E71, running microsoft exchange. I've just been informed that when I check an email on my phone a read receipt is sent to the sender of that email. Any ideas how to switch this off?

Cisco 886 VA initial set up question - unable to connect to router

Hallo,
I am trying to set up my Cisco 886 VA router, but after approx 5sec of "network identification" the network status on my PC is disconnected and I cannot access the router at 10.10.10.1 . The FE port blinks green during this time, then stops and the overall status is green.
I tried 4 different PCs, have DHCP enabled, all directly connected to one of the FE ports vie ethernet cabel. I also tried fixed IP setting (10.10.10.2 with 255.255.255.248, gateway 10.10.10.1), same result. I also tried hardware reset. And tried to connect via the configuration professional client that would just hang up.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Please be gentle if its a stupid question, I am new to networking

Sorry for not responding, I went on vacation
I finally figured it out: the factory setting of the 886 has no IP address assigned and all FE ports are shut down.
This means the only way to connect to it is like Alain suggest via console, then assign the IP address to VLAN1 and open the FE ports.
I realize now that the Cisco 8xx serie is not for retail customers, but requires learning the Cisco IOS CLI - I am gioing through this now step by step, long journey, especially because I have VDSL IPTV with T-online as my goal
The only thing that troubles me: the Cisco documentation that came with the product clearly stated that the router comes with pre-configured IP enabled Fastehternet port and suggested this as a method to do the initial set up. It would be nice to update those docs to reflect that the only way to connect is the console via COM and hypertm.

I'm setting printer up to a macbook The wireless and eprint are not connecting. Does it assingn an eprint address?

Issues setting up iPad, unable to connect

Just bought a new iPad 32Gb wifi iPad, have iTunes 9.1.1 installed and the latest snow leopard, tried connecting the iPad but nothing at all happens. iPad has full charge, and just shows the "connect to iTunes" screen. the USB port and cable and iTunes works fine with my iPod Touch. My wife has since tried it on her laptop with MS Vista and gets the same issues. We've followed the step by step instructions on this website but to no joy. Can anyone give us some help or will it just be a case of taking it into the apple store?

i have a very similar problem. i either get the error in the image below or a screen saying iPhone activations are unavailable at this time (i have a 32 GB iPad i am plugging in for the first time).
i have the latest iTunes and the iPad just arrived today. the screen of the iPad showed that it's connecting to iTunes. i can see iPad in the iTunes window when it first recognizes the iPad, but then i get the error(s).
and my internet is working just swell otherwise.

Nokia X6 - Cannot Set Up Email Accounts

Hi folks,
I'm trying to set up my email accounts on my Nokia X6 but it's just not happening.
I use the email set-up wizard and when I put in my email address and click "ok" it just keeps coming back with "unable to connect to server. Try again later"
I've also tried by going into my Nokia Ovi Account settings and "verifying" my email account but no luck.
This is the same for my yahoo mail and google mail.
Any ideas as this is just plain crazy!

Was just thinking your connection may not be very good, if you connect to wifi, it may register to the server that's all ! You could try Emoze as well, shouldn't need to, but it's free and it works !

Nokia E71 and Company Email

Can someone help me with the correct settings for the E71 for me to access my work server:
we use a doman for mobile email: mobile.company.com, we have an exchange server which has a name or an IP address. Also we can access using www.company.com/exchange on the web, I have tried as many different settings as I can, my IT dept are stumped. I can kind of get it to connect but then nothing.
I sometime gets connected then invalid password to.
I am on 3 Mobile and their tech support can't help
Any advise would be appreciated.

Basically Nokia's messaging app is completely flawed. If you visit www.seven.com and try their BETA program you'll find you get push email and it works fine on the E71. Unfortunately Nokia's email set up just doesn't work properly as it tries to be intelligent but just doesn't realise that many people's email domain does not necessarily host their email!!
It's very frustrating because I would love to use Nokia solutions on my Nokia device...but alas I cannot...shame.
