Nokia E72 Nokia Music issue

Hi.. I purchased a E72 and activated GPRS on it. I also got a 25 track  free download voucher. I was able to download 12-15 tracks from my phone. However when I Got to Media--Music Store. It tries to connect thru GPRS, however instead of getting regular page to search songs etc, it gives a web page with message that this device is not currently supported. It also gives me a website to check what all phones are supported. I called Nokia care line, but they were of no help. Instead they todl me to uninstall and reinstall ovi player on my phone. I tried to do that but there is no such option to do that and Ovi player is not listed as an app to be uninstalled. Please help me to understand why I am unable to download any tracks from Nokia music now where as I was able to do that earlier. I have also tried to select other access points for GPRS but no help. I can browse Ovi store and download apps from there. I can also browse other web sites on my Phone.

  • Pushed Update to Nokia E72 - MEANS MUSIC STOPPED W...

Today Nokia pushed an update to my Nokia E72 and since the update when I try and listen to music most tracks just skip onto the next without starting to play OR play for 4 seconds then moves onto the next song. Super annoying! Tried to format memory card. Still the same, hard reset, still the same... What happened Nokia!?!
    Software Version: 022.007
    Version Date: 10th Dec 2009 (downloaded 5th Feb 2010)

The best method actually for the end user is via NSU or Ovi Suite. It seems certain settings on your computer may be affecting the installation. Please uninstall NSU, and clean out your PC of all Nokia instances using Nokia PC Suite cleaner. Turn off you antivirus and firewall (I have mine set to recognize Ovi Suite as friendly, maybe you could do that as well), and install PC Suite, NSU and retry the update. Do not run any app as you do this, and keep AV and FW turned off.
If you find that you still cant update properly, you can have your phone updated at a Nokia Care Center. Its free if you are still under warranty.
There is no guarantee that your problems will be solved. Updates will only solve bugs. However if your problem is corrupted system files, the fw update may not help unless the update replaces those system files. However if the files are on the memory card, an update will not help and the only solution for that is a card reformat.

  • Nokia E72 : shortcut key to start music player?

    Hello,
Is there a shorcut key on the querty keyboard for starting music player in Nokia E72 ?
    Thanks
    Venks

    No.
But you can reprogram one of the one-touch keys so that, for example, a long press on the "contacts" key fires up the music player.
    Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings > General > Personalisation > One-touch keys

  • Nokia E72: Memory full. Delete or move some data f...

    HI All,
I've recently purchased a Nokia E72 phone for business use and after about three days of trouble-free operation it has suddenly run out of space on the phone system drive C:. This is very surprising as I am not aware of installing any apps or generating any content on C: since the last time I verified the available space exceeding 120 MB.
I keep on getting a message "Memory full. Delete or move some data from C: Phone memory.", am unable to enter the menu and the phone keeps on rebooting.
I've read a couple of posts from others experiencing this problem on various places on the Internet but no signs of a solution. Does anybody else have the same problem and/or knows the solution?
I would really appreciate any advice you could give me!
    Thanks,

    This is just my experience of "older" phones and memory issues;
If Opera (mini) is installed, uninstall it.

  • Nokia E72 not charging on pin or USB

Hi, I am having a charging issue with my Nokia E72 which has the latest software. I have taken it into a Nokia Service centre but they cannot resolve.
The phone will not charge and when you connect the charger into the small pin socket the phone displays 'not charging' and then 'sim registration failed' and takes about 1 minute to pick the 02 signal up again. I have tried different chargers and currently carrying 3 battery's all the time and charging them in my old E71.
In addition to this when I listen to music via my parrot in car the music cuts out every 3 seconds as if something is interfering with the Bluetooth connection. However when I plug the phone into the in car charger (and after the above messages and signal loss) this does not happen. Very strange.
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
So two months have passed. My phone has been serviced three times since August. It usually worked fine for several hours and was getting broken again.
During the last service visit my phone had its main board replaced along with the LCD screen and one part of chassis front (there was a tiny scratch and now it's gone  ).
The device has been working well for 24 hours now. I managed to configure it and upload all data. So now - fingers crossed.
    Gretings!
    M.
    P.S.
Earlier the service guys did the "digital block tuning" (or sth like that) but it dit not help too much.

  • Nokia E72 encryption & OVI Maps

    Hi,
I have two issues about the E72:
    1. My E72 came with a 4GB microSD card with OVI Maps installed on it. Unfortunately there are only 1023 MB free out of 4GB, so I planned to buy a bigger card. I would like toi know if I can simply copy all the data from the opriginal 4GB card to the new one? Will the applications still work?
    2. If I enable phone memory encryption in my phone, some applications stop working, i.e. OVI Maps does not work anymore, OVI Store stops working. I have to disable the phone memory encryption in order applications restart working. Is there a way to havbe phone memory enabled and still have the applications working fine?
    Thanks.

I did stop using encryption as there is a slight loss of speed and overall I concluded that it was not really safe since people could access my data without knowing the lock code. (a probable exploit scenario using Voyager Home screen). I mentioned that in another post (no one seemed to worry).
As far as I can tell, in that setup encryption is useless and ends up being annoying (because Nokia forced a maximum of 20 minute time-out for the lock in that case, meaning that it auto-locks sometimes when not handy.... while navigating in the car, listening to audiobooks, etc).
    /t5/Eseries-Devices-and/Nokia-E72-Bypassing-RAM-Card-encryption/m-p/658040#M64312
Going to reply to my own post saying that the annoying 20 minute limit for auto-lock when encryption is still enforced in the new firmware released this week (051).
If you are using encryption, it is not possible to have it set to higher values.
I'm re-encrypting my E72 (ram and card) to see how it performs now. Maybe it still crashes some apps when it auto-locks, making it useless for instance for trips while GPS navigating.
Will need to test to see if it is still possible to bypass the mem+card encryption code using JBakTaskman/Voyager Home as it was before... but I bet they didn't fix it.
Lame Nokia, lame... strong encryption still not useful.

  • Nokia E72 IMAP mail problems

    Cross posted from here: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=680673#post680673
Yeah, E72 e-mail client needs real work if it wants to be a competitor with iPhone 3GS (two of which I own) and Blackberry.
So far, I found these problems with it:
    1. The e-mail client should be able to display all IMAP folders. Currently there is no option to do that. This is a major functionality problem. In fact, displaying all folders available on the IMAP server should be the default. Instead, the client offers the folders that don't exist at all - silly choice indeed (for instance, I get a choice to see "Sent Items", which doesn't exist on any of my IMAP servers).
    2. If large number of IMAP folders is selected, e-mail client won't work any more (becomes frozen for lengthy periods of time) and may even corrupt mailbox setup (in my case, it renamed two of my mailboxes to the same name - it just called them Email). Note, it didn't corrupt my mail - it corrupted mailbox setup on the phone. Essentially, mail doesn't work after large number of folders have been subscribed to. The client keeps connecting/disconnecting and eventually gives up.
    3. There is no selection for sent folder. This is a critical feature for any IMAP client. It would be nice if drafts could be selected too, but that's not critical.
    4. IMAP IDLE is not implemented properly. There are a number of selections as to when to poll the IMAP server, but that is not proper push e-mail support. There should be an option for the client to keep the connection open all the time and reopen it if/when it goes down. Currently, it is impossible to have "always on" IMAP IDLE support. Which then means that e-mail delivered to IMAP server will not be picked up by the phone for many minutes.
    5. Email, if configured, should start when the phone is rebooted. As of now, it doesn't, which means that even if one configures polling for e-mail and the phone is rebooted, the mail will not be picked up.
My Nokia E72 is E72-2, software version 021.024.237.02.
PS. Can someone smack Nokia Australia support people around the ears for replying with utter nonsense to customers' questions, please? It's annoying when real bugs get reported and people that have no idea what the problem is (let alone the solution) reply with garbage.

Hi all what a  nice discussion on e 72 issues and I hope Nokia developers also work like users.
I have 5 e mail accounts configured g mail, yahoo, hotmail, ovi and my company account which is  gmail apps . Except for gmail nothing seems to work .
First of all for email to be successful like BB push mail should work automatically . That is whenever one gets connected to net mails should down load as per parameters set . This is not happening .
Secondly i still do not know why mails do not download on  manual mode also when you go to" send receive now "..I have noticed that mails do come into some of my  accounts when I am  connected to the net and simultaneously mail is being sent . I have tested this more than once in my office . Otherwise push mail does not work . This seems to be  a serious bug .This means push mail is a flop. Further there seems to be some peculiar issue with yahoo mail .This is an issue I have for a long time . I also feel after a while whole thing gets coorupted and perhas this is the reason why e mail system stops working .
Thirdly and most annoying thing are  the messages which keep pooping asking for password for different e mail account .Any one else having same issue ?
High nokia advises customers as to what they have done and what can be expected out of this system . If nokia mail system fails they will loose lot of ground to BB and apple and they can not survive selling only voice/message phones at exorbitant prices .

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Antonis,
I hope the below can answer your questions:
1- If you are using the Nokia C3-01, then the notification lights is indeed available. You can set it through: Menu>>Settings>>Display>>Notification details>>Set it to Show. At the same time, make sure that the light effects are set to "On". To do so, follow these steps: Menu>>Settings>>Lights>>Lights Effects>>On.
Once you set up the above on the Nokia C3-01, whenever you miss a call or a message, the notification light in the middle will work. It is actually located on the silver colored bar between the green and red buttons for calls. Also, the Nokia C3-01 has a very good battery life. Therefore, it might actually fit your requirements as it is a touch screen phone with a standard keypad for SMS typers such as yourself.
2- As for the E52 and the E72, they are actually both great phones and both of them have the notification lights. You can refer to the previous post for steps on how to set them up.  But from personal experience, the light effects on the E52 is actually brighter than any other phone that i have seen. So, since you are also interested in the keyboard of the Nokia E52 for SMS purposes, I think you should go for that one.
3- However, as far as Blackberry is concerned, I would recommend you to contact them directly for any details or help on their phone's features.
In conclusion, if you wish to have a simple "Old Fashioned" but sophisticated phone, I would recommend you to go for the Nokia C3-01. However, if you wish to have a smartphone with all the above features that you require, then the E52 would be a great choice as well. All in all, the decision is in your hand

  • NOKIA E72 water damage?!

    Hi,
Some drops of rain water fell on my Nokia E72 today. As soon as I got back home..I wiped my phone clean..opened the back panel and wiped the battery and I blew-dry d entire fone too .
All functions seem to be ok except the headset jack which is placed at d top..it DOES recognize d headset n play music but won't detect when I detach the headphones. So to u se loud speaker again,I have to restart my phone.
    2. USB port also seems affected,it got me connected to laptop and is acting very well as modem but won't charge.
For some time the speaker wasn't working properly either..d sound was coarse n volume level had come down considerably. but after dryin n playin music for some time,it is restored to original
Please suggest me how to solve the above two problems as I don't really want to go to customer care for these little problems. Thanks.

  • Nokia E72 - Recharging battery

    Hi all,
I have just bought this Nokia E72 (from an authorized dealer, I must add here) about two days ago. I have used it until the battery went empty completely and the phone switched off itself. The with the phone switched off, I started recharching it. Based on my calculation (and using an original recharger from a Nokia 1209), the battery would be completely charged after approximately 4 hours. Now there are over 12 hours since the phone it is recharging (those small blocks on the battery bar are still moving) and it seems to me like it will recharge forever. What and where the problem might be ?
I would like to add here that I use the same battery recharger for my other Nokias as well (1209, 2323, E71) and the battery bar stops after the battery is fully charged (there is also this message on the display telling me to remove the recharger after the battery is fully charged).
Please anybody who had this problem in the past, let me know how should I solve this issue.
Have a nice day everybody !

    thetao wrote:
It's now roughly 36 hours after you post.  Did it finally finish charging?  There are "fast" Nokia chargers and "slow" Nokia chargers, but I don't think either should take 12 hours!  I don't believe the E72 battery is much different from that in the E71, so the charging time should be similar.  But where is the original E72 charger?
If you're still having trouble with charging, I suggest not over-thinking this, and swapping your phone (or at least the battery) for another unit.  Charging is one of the most basic phone operations, and if this doesn't work, I wonder what else could be wrong?
    Hi !
Sorry for not being here for a while. A long while ....
My E72 finished charging after about 12 hours and a half - this thing happened only for the first recharge.
I didn't use the charger that was in its box because that is a fast charger - the charger from Nokia 1209 that I used (and that I still use today) it's a slow one. I'm using that one because I don't want to "bomb" my battery with energy - I want the battery to take it slowly everytime I recharge it.
It's absolutely the same battery used on Nokia E71 and E6.
Now the phone gets fully recharged after every 4 hours - you could set your watch on this operation.

  • Nokia E72 - Problem with Lotus Traveler 8.5.1.3

I have 2 Nokia E72 correctly configured with Lotus Traveler that don't send outgoing the email...
This is my test and configuration:
    a) Scenario with emails/calendar without contacts to sync
The devices work perfectly without contacts... ( I receive the emails, and I can send the email, and I can manage the calendar)
    b) After that I sync my 5700 contacts from my Notes Address Book ( are them too much for my device?)
     - First Device - The device don't sync all contacts and I can't send out my email
     - Second Device - The device sync all contacts and I can't send out y email
In both case the email go into local OutGoing folder...and don't send to the server...
There are some problem with 5k of contacts on Nokia E72?
In the Nokia E71 all work correctly ....
    Tnx you

So why don't you try to sync less contacts, and to see then, whether the problem is solved ?
Then it already helps you to identify whether or not the issue is related to the number of contacts...

  • Nokia E72 Memory (RAM) Problem

    Hi everyone,
I recently installed Opera Mobile 12 in my phone and have been facing RAM problems a lot lately.... After I surf the internet for sometime, i frequently get the messege showing ''Memory Full: Please Close Some Applications and Try Again''... Its not that I faced this in earlier versions of Opera Mobile but it was less frequent and multitasking was easily possible.... Now, other programs (like whatsapp, mobipocket reader, music player etc) cannot be run along with the browser and most of the time I minimize the browser, it exits and often, it exits while i'm still browsing.... Sometimes, when I get the memory full error, my theme disappears and the default theme of my phone loads up instead.... Can I work a way around this problem?? According to my mobile guard, the Opera eats away around 30-35 MB of RAM... When i boot up, I have around 45 MB of RAM available.... Can I increase my free memory so that I can browse, chat and listen to music side by side with none of the processes getting automatically killed?? I've tried workarounds such as the ''KillMe'' app to close unnecessary processes and although it frees some RAM, the problem still persists... Please help...
