Nokia E90 Software info...

Hi !
I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me if any S60 v3 3rd party software will work with the E90 and how will it look within the internal screen ? (screenshot if possible)
Thanks a lot !
G.R.

Almost all S60 3rd programs are working with the E90 with a few exceptions which actually work but have a couple of minor issues like switched menue buttons, etc. These issues are mainly affecting the operation on the inner display.
Hope this helps.

Sometimes, it's better to help ourselves.
I re-installed Nokia S60 BlackBerry Connect 4.0 vers. 8.23.1 (.SISX, 2,89 MB) that was originally developed for E90 firmware 300.34.84.
Vers. 8.23.1 appears to also work (keeping my fingers crossed) well at the moment for emails synching, for the new firmware 400.34.93
    Go to http://www.businesssoftware.nokia.com/blackberry_downloads.php
for  BlackBerry Connect 4.0 vers. 8.23.1
I have to do try 2 times before the BlackBerry Connect 4.0 vers. 8.23.1 worked properly on my E90.
During the first time, after the firmware upgrade and re-installing the backup data (that was saved before the firmware upgrade) using Nokia Suite, I found that the backup process did not re-install the BB Connect 8.23.1 automatically.  So I re-installed  BlackBerry Connect 4.0 vers. 8.23.1 using Nokia PC Suite, then did an activation on the BB.
However, activation stalled at 88% completion and "freeze" up.  By then, I see 2 BB inboxes in my Messaging > Folder view.
So I saved my emails in my Outlook on the local PC drive, and then deleted both the BB inboxes in my E90 (Messaging > Options > Delete).  Then I go to Installations > app mgr > Options and deleted the BB application totally from my E90.
I re-installed the BB Connect 4.0 vers. 8.23., and did a new activation.  [I am using BB Enterprise Server, so I have to get my IT support to re-initialise and give me the password each time i do this activation.] This time, it worked till 100% completion in synch my emails, contacts, calendar, etc.
In the past 6 hours, new emails on BB in my E90 have been coming in, and i was able to read and reply.
Hope this will continue, and the above info is helpful to others.
The new firmware appears to reduce the response time when you are using the E90.  I feel the time between pressing a command key, e.g., Messaging or Calendar, till the screen changes display, is shorter now.
Key response time is now closer to I expect from a premium phone like E90.

    Hi,
I been a Nokia user all my life and i have used nearly each and every premium phone starting from the model 2110.
it is sad that the way we are treated at least in India here. very disappointed with the bangalore call centre response.
see my message below in the board about my E90 and other problem is that i cannot see who called me last at times, i just called someone and now i am seeing the last dialled number it is of a few hours back from my address book.
My question is that, Why cannot a full testing be done from each and every aspect before the software or an upgrade is released, an upgrade should be an upgrade and not a "downgrade". Please hire us as your phone testing agents if you cannot get it done and give us a week and we will tell you where the problem is as we been using them for past 13 years.

  • Nokia E90 Map version

    Hello,
I have a Nokia E90 which I bought in Nov 2008 and had the original version (I think it is v7.40.1.2 (Blue version)) of the maps installed on my phone. I then updated my maps and got the second version (Black functionality) which I did not like, so I reformatted my phone using the code *#7370# or the hard reset * 3 Call Key and Power button all pressed at the same time.
This changed my phone back to my original version of the maps (first version) and was working fine until I recently sent my phone to nokia to have my screen repaired, they must have installed a new version of software on my phone which is now 300.34.84 NokiaE90 (213.02) without notifying me and I am trying to change my maps back to the original version which I first had using the same procedure above. This does not seem to fix the problem.
    Can anybody help please????
    Thanks

Pls my nokiaE90 is always gate hot i dont realy know wat to do

I can't understand what's happening because til now my bluetooth device worked fine.
So, could anybody help me? because now I'm working with my USB connection, but this is not very operative.

Reset to factory settings (using *#7370#) doesn't give any improvement.

  • Quran application on Nokia E90

    Hi everyone,
I just installed the new Quran software from the nokia ramadan software on my Nokia E90. It is a very nice application. However, the browser had a problem of not viewing some text fields in most of the websites. Has anyone faced this problem? The browser worked fine after removing the software which means that the software was making the problem. I contacted nokia care centre in the middle east but they didnt reply till now. Any suggestions??????????
    Regards
    Ehad

    Hi q1rat,
Thank you for your reply. I managed to solve it by firstly installing the trial version of the new Quran software from Asgatech. They solved the font problem in this vesion. After that, unintall the software without restrating the phone and then install the free version available in the nokia Ramadan site. I hope this works on all E90 phones
    Kind Regards

  • GPS non-functional on out of box Nokia E90 in Indi...

    Hi,
GPS isn’t working on my father’s Nokia E90. Apparently, it can’t find GPS satellites. I haven’t installed any Nokia or 3rd party software. All I have on the phone are the default, out of the box packages. How do I start troubleshooting GPS? Please help.
    Connection: Vodafone India, Kolkata.

Try checking whether it has Assisted GPS (A-GPS) enabled, the standard set up takes ages (up to an hour on mine) to lock onto satellites.
    To do this:
Tools -> Settings -> General -> Positioning (at the bottom) -> Positioning Methods
Enable "Assisted GPS" and disable "Integrated GPS". Mine finds and locks on to satellites with a minute.
If you don't have A-GPS listed, a firmware update might be needed to get hold of this setting.
I have full End User experience of:
    5510, 3210, 3310, 3510, 3510i, N80, N80IE, 7610, 2610, 1208 and current E90.

  • Nokia e90 firmware 300.34.84

When the latest firmware (300.34.84) for Nokia e90 will be available in Russia? Current firmware is 210.34.75 and Nokia Software Updater says that my phone software is already up to date.
    Best Regards

Updated to 300.34.84 with high expectaions last November. I must say that I have not noticed any improvements. You will not loose much if you do not upgrade. Waiting for some MAJOR upgrade instead of this very minor one.

  • Nokia E90 firmware download problem

Hi - I'm trying to update my Nokia E90 firmware from 210.34.75 to 300.34.84 and the 81.9MB file downloads perfectly (in under 3 minutes) until it gets to 60.3MB and then stops. Any ideas? I've un-installed the entire PC Suite and its add-ons, an no luck. Any ideas? Thanks, Ian.

I also had trouble downloading the software upgrade (from version 7.xx to version 300.34.84) for my E90. I tried three times before it actually begun to download - upon which, the download and upgrade went by successfully. I agree that the upgrade - even from my very old/early firmware - was almost completely pointless. Some of the trouble I'm having now is with the Download! folder, specifically the Applications subfolder - it does not update it's context - actually, it's totally unaccessible. Also, the Windows Live Application no longer works - and I'm unable to download a fresh copy.
I backed up all the data on the phone prior to the firmware upgrade - as required for the retention of software certificates and data.
Symbian connected me to the world, to my dreams.. Thank-you Nokia

  • Audible player audio file locations on Nokia E90 S...

Can anyone tell me where the audible player is installed on my E90 and where the audible files will need to be placed to make it work? I am moving my cards from a Windows Mobile PC TyTn II to the Nokia E90.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    AUDIOBOOKS:
Actually, the Nokia audiobook player IS DIFFERENT FROM AUDIBLE PLAYER. Audiobook player is a utility which prepares and then plays mp3 files (and a special compressed and indexed "awb" format for speech). The audiobook player is used for litening to FREE BOOKS. The link to the download is found here:
    http://nokia-audiobooks.en.softonic.com/symbian
The books it plays are here:
    http://librivox.org/
So the audiobook files need to be prepared and indexed with the utility. They create a special subdirectory with modified copied mp3 files and an index which allows them to play. The top directory is "audiblebooks". Inside that see a directory for each book such as "Einstein" etc. Inside the "Einstein" directory see a series of "chapter-name.awb" files and an "index-name.inx" file. To make he software work in Windows XP I had to expand the download file and then run Lame (the converter for mp3) then run the audible book program file from inside the same directory which I expanded the compressed file into. After that, it took me quite a while to realise that I needed to file in the "name of book" entry box otherwise I could not process the files. Finally, I copied the created directory into the phone's micro_SD card. It works well.
    AUDIBLE:
So here is the confusion. AUDIBLE BOOKS are quite different. These books ARE NOT FREE (but they are better). They are "*.aa" files and are in the directory called "audible". I can see a similar directory on the phone memory but it is empty. I must have changed the setting to make the directory be on the root on the 4 GB card I have. In the past I had a Windows Mobile (TyTN II by HTC) and in that device I recall the audible book files were required to be in the "program files/audible" directory with the programs. At least I could not figure out how to move them around. On the E90's S60 system, the audible sound files directory is merely called "audible" but is in the root of the card.
To install the Audible book player you must have the phone connected and choose device manager from the top menu of your Windows interface (audible manager). Then choose Phone and Nokia. E90 may not be listed so try E50 or E60. It will download into the phone. After that you need to activate it as the default player. During the activation it may have been that the phone needed to be disconnected and make its own internet connection rather than go through the PC.
If you get stuck then audible support is very good. I called them and did it live from Australia.
Currently it is working well. .

  • Nokia E90: URGENT!! Bluetooth Modem

I have recently bought a Nokia E90 model. I have installed the PC Suite (latest version) also. I can browse the internet when I connect my phone to my PC via the USB cable. I can also connect my PC to the phone through bluetooth. But I CANNOT BROWSE the internet through bluetooth.
    Please help..

    Hi aesthetic,
I haven't seen a 777 error for nearly 10 years & it usually means that you have the wrong modem drivers installed.  I assume you're suffering from Windoze XP?  The latest version of PC Suite should include the cable modem driver and you might solve your problem by uninstalling then reinstalling the software; if you don't have the latest version of PC Suite you should download and install it before trying again.  You could try installing the cable driver on its own, I believe this is the one you want.
Before you start messing about with drivers, it's probably a good idea to delete the DUN connection that you created as XP is easily confused and could bind the COM port to a non-functional connection and prevent you from binding it to one that works.  XP has also been known to bind more than one COM port to a modem, it's worth checking there isn't a "Nokia E90 Communicator USB Modem #2 (COMXX)" that already works.
If this solves the problem, let us know.  If it doesn't, then I'll need a little more information:
What OS are you running?  (Just guessing it's XP).
Which mobile provider are you with?  (Certain settings are operator specific).
Can you access the phone through PC Suite (SMS, Contacts, file management)?  If not, your cable might be fractured & need replacing.
    Good luck,
    Oddball.
