Nokia Email 3.9 update

I just update Nokia email 3.9 and sync with mail for exchange. The problem is when I forward or reply email, I found that I cannot delete any part of the email. Previously, before updating this patch email can be edited before it was to be forwarded or replied. FYI, my phone is E72. I believe there is bug on this patch. Please assist to resolve such illogical and unthoughtful update.

I hvae an E72 and I can edit messages that I want to forward.

  • Nokia Email 3.21 update & phone memory question

I just updated to Nokia Email 3.21sucessfully, and it seems to be similar as it was previously on my C5-00.
Some old emails I open are not in bold and some are, is that down to whatever the format of the original email was in?
One other question I wanted to ask was that I updated using the Software Updates app on the phone, and I had no choice of where to install the update to, it seems to have installed to the phone memory.  Is it normal for to install to the phone memory instead of the card memory? or is there a way to move it or perhaps it doesn't work properly unless it's on the phone memory.
Say there is another update, does the update delete the previous email client files as to not clog up space within the phones memory.

I hvae an E72 and I can edit messages that I want to forward.

  • E72: What is Nokia Email 3.9 ?

    Hello,
When I run the Sw Update option on my phone(E72), I see this 'Nokia Email 3.9' update available. I thought Nokia Messaging is part of FW in E72. Can someone tell me what is this update then ?
    Thanks

I have to agree with stanhk.  Email functionality is greatly reduced after this update.  You might get a friendlier interface for reading email but try writing an email and it might get sent out fine or it might just sit in the outbox.
Reply or reply all causes strange random cases of not being able to use some email addresses - only some of the time.  I found that at times the screen could not keep up with my typing.
The HTML view is a nice touch but you will quickly realise how much more efficient it is to have the phone download even some of the plain body-text in the background ready for you to read instantly. Otherwise you just have to wait and stare at some spinning arrows for each email. That's what I have been doing for the past couple of days but hopefully others have had better luck.
To undo this update, I made a backup using the windows Nokia/ovi software and then did a hard reset followed by a restore and then updated some apps but I will be skipping this one for now.

  • Email and calendar update error Nokia C7-00

there is an email and calendar update and when i tried to do it my phone nokia c7-00 restarted and the update wasnt done and tried over and over again and the same issue still as it is

    Hi Islam_Mohamed,
    Thank you for posting.
Before the phone restarts, do you get any error message when trying to update the calendar and the email? Are these updates for the email or calendar apps, or just for their contents? Aside from these two apps, are you able to download the updates for the other apps if there are any? It would be easier for the community to answer your query if you can provide more details about it.
    We'll wait for your response.

  • Nokia Email (v 2.1.0) - how to update?!?

    Hi All,
I have Nokia e52 with Nokia Email preinstalled.
In connections configuration I can not choose Destination Network, only Access Points appear in the list.
I have read on Nokia Messaging blog about this issue. It is fixed apparently.
I cannot install newest version of Nokia Email - I get error "Incompatible version found, uninstall first". But I can not install Nokia Email - I guess it is a part of firmware (it does NOT appear in applications manager).
I have just updated my firmware and problem still remains
    Please help,
    Mike

    Hello!
I can't update my e-mail client via Nokia e52 internet browser.
I enter address email.nokia.com, click download link. The application Nokia Email 9.07 has downloaded. After this the suggesting message to install Nokia Email 9.07 appears. But error appears after my agreement - "An incompatible version of this product is detected, and has to be uninstalled first"
I have no possibility to uninstall detected Email, so I don't see any Email client in Application Manager.
Nokia developers, please, fix this bug as soon as possible

  • Nokia belle refresh Email and calendar update not ...

Hi! I'm using the Nokia E7 running Nokia Belle refresh and my problem is that the email and calendar update released by Nokia recently is downloaded onto my device but is not installing, it shows installing, then restarts the device without finishing the installation. Anyone who can assist in solving this puzzle?

Hi, if you have an antivirus software on your e7 then this could be the cause. Uninstall it and it probably will work.

  • Nokia Email 3.9 SW update

I would highly recommend not to update your Nokia Email client on E5-00 phones.  Version 3.9 does not work:  it freezes when trying to open html emails (think that this is was the official reason for this update!), disconnects and freezes the phone, which must be switched off and rebooted.  Stick to the original version of Email client.  If anyone, by the way, knows how to get back to the factory pre-loaded SW version, I would greatly appreciate.  Remember, never, never update a piece of SW that works all-right!  Thanks all for your help.

  • My Nokia E7-00 Belle update - the good, the bad, a...

Late last night I installed Belle on my E7-00 Anna.  It was a completely hands-off install using the USB cable connected to my PC.  It took about 15 minutes with multiple restarts of the phone all done by the software update.
I have a 12MB Internet connection (or so my service provider claims) and a UPS backup to reduce the chance of failure due to a poor Internet connection or untimely power outage.
The update was uneventful and the update software did perform a backup before the actual update began.  I did do a backup myself of the Anna install before doing the Belle update.
Although I am technically very experienced and competent with Windows based computer hardware and software,  I don't consider myself particularly knowledgeable in cell phone technology.  So I was glad to see the update go smoothly.
However, all was not peaches and cream after the update completed.  Once I started to use the phone I found that many, though not all, of additional application I had downloaded under Anna were no longer on the phone.  Also, many settings were gone as well such as my WLAN settings, and later I found all my Favorites gone.
I spent a couple of hours going through all the menus reorganizing the interface and the various options to get the phone in what I consider to be a usable state.  These things are made so that one can optimize to suit ones needs and I take advantage of that.
I'm disappointed that I had to spend so much time and effort doing this (actually redoing what had been done in Anna) and feel that the update should have, and could have, kept many of my settings.  I understand that the new widgets and home screens meant a re-jigging of those things but, for example, why did I have to re-enter all the WLAN settings required to connect to my home router, including a very long security string? More below.
I am glad that I did the update in spite of all the time and trouble to get everything working again and to suit my personal preferences.  I suspect a lot of users who have less experience than I in these things will be seeking help to get all their phone features working again.
Perhaps it would be useful to explain how I use my phone.  This is my 6th or 7th cell phone and I'm on my second cell service provider (about 8 years).  I have had cell phones continuously ever since they were small enough to carry on one's belt.
I am not a power user.  I use the camera occasionally for recording information.  I don't download music for listening but occasionally listen to music from the Internet via WLAN.  I have not sent more than about a dozen text message in my life, though I have unlimited texting in my cell service package.
I use my cell phone mostly for business calls.  I do not have any data service from my service provider.  I tried the data service for about 3 months but found that I used it very little.  I don't have a Twitter account (thinking about it) nor a Facebook account (and not thinking about it) so other than the rare instance to search the Internet for some information (when not near my own WLAN connection) I found little use for it.  Data service here in Canada is one of the most expensive of any country (or so I have seen reported on the Internet).  So I decided to save the money.
I do all of my email at my office or at home on desktop PCs with big screens and full size keyboards.  Occasionally I connect to my home WLAN with my phone to check email or to check for updates to the phone software.  But I don't like to do much typing on the phone keyboard, even though it is really a very good keyboard for a cell phone.
I do use the map/GPS feature regularly and think it is one of the best I've used.  I've gone through about five stand-alone GPS units which gives me some reference for comparison.
I'm not much of a game player, never have been, even on my computer.  I do have Angry Birds because it was free, and it is nice once in awhile to have something to occupy time when waiting at a doctors office or for a haircut, etc. and all the newspapers and magazines are old.
Here are things that I especially like about the new Nokia (Symbian) Belle software update:
I like the clock screen saver (I use the digital version rather than the analog display) because I can quickly look at my phone without having to unlock it and see the time/date (I've stopped wearing a watch).  It is also a great nightstand clock and alarm.  With the Light Bar app installed it is not too bright for sleeping but visible when needed.  I suspect though that it is sucking a lot of battery power and I may have to disable the clock screen saver if battery charging is too frequent.
The user interface is very good.  It is terribly easy to add or remove widgets and move them around on the home screen to suit ones needs.  The bar across the bottom makes accessing the applications menu, phone dialer, or options menu extremely quick and easy.
The pull down connectivity menu is superb.  With one touch I can turn on or off my Bluetooth, which I use with my car hands-free feature everyday.  Turning Bluetooth often when not need saves power.  With three taps of the screen I can connect to my home router, or disconnect with one tap.
A new capability that I now have and wished for previously on my E7 (but couldn't figure out how to do) is being able to put my phone in Off-line mode and still use the WLAN feature.  This is great in the evening at home when I don't want to be connected to my cell phone provider, but I do want to look up something quickly on the Internet without going to my desktop PC.
After the Belle update I found that I still had the following applications (originally installed in Anna) still available on the phone:
      Angry Birds
US and Canada Maps plus voice guidance
App Stop Camera Lover Pack (multiple apps)
      Opera Mini
      Sticky Notes
Here is a list of software and setting that were no longer on the phone after the Belle update:
    Applications
    Public Transportation
    Beeps and Vibrations voice guidance
    Converter
    GPS Info QT
    Compass Lite
    Nokia Internet Radio
    Display Brightness Control
    Nokia Battery Monitor 2
    Compass Touch
    Here and Now
    Settings
WLAN settings and password strings for three routers
    Start-up custom Welcome message
    Phone display settings
    Route settings for maps
    Voice guidance settings
    Home location for maps
Lost all Favorites including many map locations and Internet radio Favorites
    Lost all call logs
Lost all phone pairing - car and headset
    Lost call mailbox number
Since I have had the Belle update for less than 24 hours I am certain that there is more for me to discover.  But I thought it may be useful to provide this experience report as a heads-up for those about to do the same.  And now I will have to update my E6-00.

Thank you for the feedback hpholm.
I hope that you are very wrong about having to sync with OVI online services.  I have never done that.  Nowhere have I seen that as a requirement to store all the data on my phone.  And as I said, I do not pay for a data service with my cell provider and only connect my phone to the Internet through my home or work router, or through my PC via USB cable. So syncing to a remote site is not attractive to me.
My impression from Nokia on-line information is that the Nokia Suite application, which runs on my PC, backs up my phone - everything.  Where is the logic in backing up everything except my map Favorites.  Why would those be an exception?
Additionally, I am not interested in having to backup my confidential information to someone else's server where (in my opinion) I have less security than on my own PC (I do tech support and know how to lock down a computer).
Also, in most cases when one puts information on someone else's server, especially a free service from the like of Google, Facebook, Twitter, (might I suggest Nokia?) etc.  one loses control and rights to that information.  I'm unwilling to do that simply because someone else thinks it is good for me to do.  Ha!
Nothing is truly free.  You pay somehow.  These service aren't there because they are altruistic.  How many billions is the IPO for Facebook worth?  Gotta be a reason.  All that information that people put there about themselves and others is the reason.
I doubt Facebook would pay me anything to put personal info on their site.  I assume most people would think me a bit loony to expect it.
In any event, though there is a lot to like about the Belle update, there are a lot of unnecessary complications, with no warnings!
As I read the posts about peoples experiences with the Belle update I'm seeing a lot of disappointment.  From my experience in computing hardware, software and network support it is my opinion that the Belle update was rushed and was done in a less than professional manner.
From what I've been reading, people who have updated to Belle have generally expected it to be near perfect and hassle free, and many are really disappointed.  The end experience with the Anna update was much better in my opinion.  Not good for Nokia customer relations.
Nokia customer loyalty easily rivaled that of Apple.  But that has been seriously damaged with things like trashing Memo, going with the MS Windows phone OS, and a disappointing Belle update for all those expensive Nokia smart phones.  Kinda dumb.
I suspect that most if not all of the first line developers have been pulled off Symbian to do development work on the Windows phone OS.  The missing or incomplete bits and pieces in Belle, plus some gratuitous changes suggest less then experienced software developers working on Belle.
Enough grousing.  I just hope that things get fixed, but I'm feeling very pessimistic right now.  I wouldn't mind being proved wrong.

  • E71: no longer able to send via Nokia Email

I just upgraded to 200.21.118 on my e71-2 RM-357 (in spite of all the talk, only this firmware was available).
I can no longer very easily send an email through Nokia Email. Before, I was able to select an entry through the Contacts app, choose 'Send email', and Nokia Email would have been an option to send an email through. Now I only have the choice of the default Messaging application and the accounts I have set up through that.
Similarly, I was with my version 100 firmware able to launch the email client if I configured one of the hotkeys to 'send a message.' Now, the only emails that can be sent are through the default client.
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi there!
    I suggest the following steps:
    1) Dial *228 and select Option 1. Dial it again and select Option 2.
    2) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    3) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    4) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.

  • Nokia Email conflicting versions

I seem to have two versions of Nokia Email in my 5800's Applications menu.
    - One is called "Email", using a pink "@" icon.
    - The other is called "Email Setup", using the same pink "@" icon but with stars around it.
I'm not sure why there are two entries or which one is newer. Both seem to do the same thing when I tap them.  They start the E-mail setup process.
I can't tell whether I have two different versions of Nokia E-mail on my phone, or just two icons that point to the same thing.  If I go to Options->Organize->Remove, they both ask if I want to remove Nokia Email.
I would like to remove the duplicate icon, and/or the older version of Nokia E-mail from my phone if there are two versions on it.  How can I do this without accidentally removing Nokia Email altogether?

    a) how do you go about cancelling the NM Subscription (web site would help lol)
    Just open the website http://email.nokia.com
Login with ur primary email id and password (the email id which u first setup)
At the bottom you will find subscription status: press cancel.
After doing so you will remove your subscription from NMS server.
    b) Once you have done this, how do you re-subscribe.
    Again open website http://email.nokia.com
    click SIGN up
follow on screen prompts ( mobile no in country code format, select mobile model no, email id and password)
soon you will recieve text on mobile which will automatically show u START screen.

the above mentioned method is alternate.
    d) How do you use PULL mail???
    Activate OFFLINE profile.
click new mailbox( in menu>email>new mailbox)

  • N86 8MP, Nokia Email 2.1.0, Access point troubles

I know that his has been an never ending saga. I just don't seem to be able to give it up.
There is a well known issue about Nokia Email 2.1.0 not being able to define group access points.
When I try to do that I am offered only particular access points or "None". This is ever so annoying as I have to manually change the access point every time I leave my home WiFi.
I am aware that there are ways around this using connection manager apps (I tried several: Auto WeFi, Easy WiFi....  ) but I was not happy with the results. One of them even disabled me from editing my access points.
It is weird that it is possible to define "Internet" as a access point for Exchange but not for normal e-mail providers.
Some people suggested to setup acces point to "Default" while setting up a new email account. However, I've never seen this option.
I think Nokia's terminology is so vague. What would be "Default" connection as opposed to "Internet"?
In addition, in "Network Destionations" it is possible to define the "Internet" group as "Default" so this will be the same thing, or...??? Am I missing something?
I stumbled upon this article that Nokia would release a patch addressing this access point issue.
I spent hours searching for the patch to no avail. Does anybody know whether that patch exists at all?
    http://www.e71fanatics.com/2009/01/big-ooops-in-recent-nokia-email-version.html
Having exhausted all possibilities I was thinking I could install Nokia Messaging 9.7. Apparently this version is compatible with S60v3 unlike the Nokia Messaging 10.2.
I have no idea whether Nokia Messaging 9.7 was ever ment to be for N86 8MP but if not does anybody know whether the unsigned version could be installed instead?
I would appreciate any piece of advice or suggestion.
    Alex

  • Nokia C3's Nokia Email app is not responding after...

    Dear Nokia Team,
When I updated my Nokia C3-00's firmware from version 4.60 to 7.20, the responsiveness of the Ovi apps (Facebook and Twitter) is much better compare before, BUT, when I am opening the Nokia Email app, is freezes into "Loading Mail" status for almost a minute... Any problems with my update?
I properly connected this to my PC and it updated without any interruption... And some 3rd party apps is not working after updating to this version (I guess those few 3rd party apps doesnt know there is incremental update you provided for this model except Snaptu which is working now)
    Any address to this problem?
    Appreciate your immediate response. Thanks!

hi. i also face the same thing on my nokia c3.Third party software not available and mail app not working. But unlike other replies i am going to give you a solution.
Nokia new firmvare version i.e 7.2 currently block 3rd party software downloads. It only supports applications from ovi store. There is an installation process going on in ovi when we download an app which make it usable.so if you want to use a third party app all you hav to do is download it to pc then just copy that app to your memmory card or to phone memory which will work
    Next about the mail app.
I am a user from india and using the connection idea.when i updated my phone software i also lost my email app.
But yesterday when i requested for new internet setting i found in its items supported list, settings for nokia visual radio, nokia communities, nokia mail etc i set it as my configuration and used mail.At that time it was working. So you all want a propper internet settings containing settings for nokia mail to make mail app to work.Or you can configure it manually like you do on office outlook.
If u face anyproblem in using nokia c3. I will be happy to help you.
