Nokia Email and vanity domain hotmail address

Hi,
I just got the Nokia e71x. Setting up the email client from email.nokia.com.
I tested it and got to work with my hotmail address, it's [email protected]
But now I'm trying to get it set up for my other windows live mail, it's through my school but hosted by Microsoft. I found a forum in here from 'vandelay' ("Nokia Messaging 1.1 Released"), that mentions nokia messenging 1.1 supports hosted email from Microsoft, aka vanity domain names.
My email for school is [email protected] But it's a windows live account, I can go to www.hotmail.com and log in with that email address.
However, when I go into my account for email.nokia.com, it doesn't accept that email address and password. I can't get past the add email address screen.
Sounds like messaging should support this vanity domain name, but it's not working.
Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

Cross-tenant email and split domains - how to set up?

I've successfully deployed exchange 2010 sp1 in /hosted mode with multi-tenancy and the install is working great. We are running into a problem configuring the send connectors
for inter domain email and split domains. We have several customers wanting to only put a couple of email accounts on the exchange server and have the rest of their email accounts resolve to a pop server at an external location. Currently I have a internal

I added all my internal domains to the connector listed above and email is able to flow from one domain to another.
My problem is we have a number of customers who need split-domains set up where users who arent on the exchange server are relayed to an external server. Example to route unknown users on a domain to google my send connector looks as is:
New-SendConnector -Name "Internal Relay - domain1.com" -Custom -AddressSpaces "SMTP:domain1.com;5" -SmartHosts aspmx.l.google.com -SourceTransportServers "server"
This results in an internal loop error when sending from one internal domain to another. Sending from an external domain everything is fine. If I remove the "internal" connector listed above the split-domain send connector works perfectly fine delivering locally
and to the external server.
How can I make it so both send connectors work?

Problem regarding nokia email and ovistore

I have been facing the problem with nokia email. Every time I try to create the mail box I get the error message ' unable to connect to the server' .
Its very important to me to have the push mail facility.
I have tried resorting the factory settings twice but it didn't work.
and ovistore is troubling me from 2 days. The error message I get this time is ' resource doesn't exist'
Any one please help me.

Nokia Email and N71

I spent all morning fiddling with this. Why dosn't it import email accounts you have already set up on the phone? Finally got it working although it wouldn't connect to two of my email accounts and, despite setting up MFE three times it didn't show MFE in the application.
Then I restarted my phone and now it goes straight to set up every time I launch the app and there is no way to get back to the main control panel.
I give up. I can set my email accounts to sync automatically without all this bother.

Try within Nokia Email App) Settings -> Gmail (name of your Gmail Box) -> Read Status -> make it "Sync to server"

How do I can my rescue email address? I was asked to answer my security questions, but I forgot the answers and realized my rescue address was outdated. I tried adding alternate email addresses, but my faulty rescue address remained the same.

I tried to change my rescue address, since it is outdated, and was not receiving any of the emails from Apple to this faulty address regarding resetting my security questions.
I cannot proceed in regaining full use of my account to make purchases if I do not reset my security questions, and I cannot reset them without receiving such an email, and I have no idea how to change my rescue email. The Apple ID support section of this site was unfortunately unhelpful and led me in circles.
Please help me to change my rescue email address!
If it helps, a few months ago I changed my primary account email, and my old primary address is my faulty rescue address now. It is no longer on my list of addresses but continues to show up as my rescue address.
An additional portion of my question: Is it possible, if I terminate one Apple ID, to move purchases made on that ID, to a new ID? I'm not sure if it's a violation of the terms and conditions if DO NOT keep the purchases on two accounts simultaneously.

Hosted Email Server can not send emails to certain domains including Hotmai

I host my own email server and domain, but when I try to send emails to certain domains Hotmail being one of them, It gets refused saying something about spamming, when I know I am not a spammer because only one of the users in my domain can actually send and receive emails.
Is there a list I can include my domain in, so that I can bypass the spammer status?

This is getting common as people attempt to cut down the spam.
Check your reverse dns is correct, I'd suggest an external test like http://www.mxtoolbox.com/ against your system/domain is a good place to start.
In the case of the problems I had at home a while back this was down to my ISP not setting up the reverse DNS correctly. I got the Reverse DNS not matching the SMTP Banner i.e. IP address then ISP name:-
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.btopenworld.com
Microsoft and some other companies introduced a while back the use of SPF records, so check your zone file info to make sure this is there and valid.
http://old.openspf.org/index.html will help here, if you haven't got SPF set-up.
Some ISP's employ Goodmail systems, now which isn't a problem for small companies/home users sending small amounts of email, but will effect large companies.
If you're not sending large amounts of email to AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo etc this shouldn't effect you. Basically, it will force a 'drip feed' into their email systems. One company I worked at had to send email to customers, and this meant the first few emails would be accepted, then the server wouldn't accept more email for 20 minutes or so, then it would take another 5 emails, and so on....
Dynamic IP addresses, from your ISP can also cause huge problems. If you haven't got a fixed IP address, many systems will reject email. Even if you have a static IP address, ensure your ISP has this correctly allocated. Sometimes, you'll get it from the wrong range (ones which normally are Dynamic), and this will cause problems. 'Cheap state' ISP's can often allocate you a fixed IP, but because they have 'run out' of fixed addresses, they may pinch a dynamic one....
Some places check your MX records http://vger.kernel.org/mxverify.html will help here. It's a bit of a cheat, as large companies may not have the same outbound servers as inbound servers, but I have seen this cause problems when ALL the mail servers are not listed in the MX records.
The only one I wouldn't worry about too much is the Goodmail system, unless you're sending large amounts of email. But even then, they normally only slow email delivery down and not actually reject it.

Nokia Email Beta

I am unable to login to the Nokia Email site whether from my PC to check the settings or from my Nokia e71 to retrieve my emails.
The website advises me that my username and/or password do not match any accounts on record and the mobile advises me that my credentials have expired.
I have been able to generate a new password for my username using the website but even using the newly generated password I am unable to login into the site.
I am assuming that there is a server issue at the Nokia end but would be grateful for any other useful suggestions.
The Nokia Email site Feedback form also fails to submit my query.

Hello, while Nokia solve the problems they have with Nokia Email (because I haven't been able to run it in my phone E61i after I installed) I recomend you to install in your phone Seven Email. Yopu can download it from www.seven.com and it's totally free. Since I have it, it has worked very well. It works with POP mails, hotmail ( Nokia Email do not support Hotmail) and Gmail.

The new but not-ready-for-prime-time autocomplete method searches for matches that contain the entered text, not just ones that begin with the string. Your options are:
1) type in longer strings that narrow the search
2) use an add-on to search just the beginnings:

If nothing works, you most likely have a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple store to confirm.

Nokia Messaging doesn't work with vanity domains

Nokia Messaging's "simplified" setup means I can't get it to work with my vanity domain. I can't get it to ask me what server it should use, it just complains that it can't connect - which isn't very surprising when it doesn't give me any opportunity to tell it which server to use.
I have emails from my domian forwarded to my Gmail account. The Gmail account itself works fine with Nokia Messaging, because the automatic setup works. The problem is that I want the reply address to be [email protected], not [email protected] Entering [email protected] as the address means Nokia Messaging insists on trying for some non-existent mail server for mydomain.com and doesn't give me the opportunity to enter the details for Gmail.
Does anybody know of a way to enter the details manually?
Assuming it's not possible to enter the details directly, not only is this a major problem for people who forward mail from their vanity domians, but it's potentially a serious security problem too. In its attempts to find the right server, Nokia Messaging must be connecting to some mail server somewhere and trying to log in with my username and password. Who knows what server it decided to try? Who knows who now has my login information? It's bad enough that Nokia store your login credentials, but it's just plain dangerous that they think it's OK to send them to random servers on the internet as they try to find the right one.
Why isn't there an "advanced" option so I can just set it up myself? Why, even after it has failed to connect, can't I just enter the required details myself?
Seriously Nokia, it doesn't take a genius to work out that if you never ask for the right server to connect to, your service is not going to work for anything but the most straightforward cases. You can't guess it right every time and when you try and guess you leak people's login credentialsto who-knows-who.

"Reply-to" address should be a feature of Nokia Messaging. I too have my work email forwarded to gmail to be able to use it with Nokia Messaging.
I have requested this feature since the app was on beta. and i'm doing it now again.
Maybe if we all request it they will take it seriously, but here is the wrong place to do it.

Last time I wrote to that email they replied asking for more details about what i was requesting. I'm not sure if they will do it or not, but at least their questions made me feel they would.

Nokia E71 and Company Email

Can someone help me with the correct settings for the E71 for me to access my work server:
we use a doman for mobile email: mobile.company.com, we have an exchange server which has a name or an IP address. Also we can access using www.company.com/exchange on the web, I have tried as many different settings as I can, my IT dept are stumped. I can kind of get it to connect but then nothing.
I sometime gets connected then invalid password to.
I am on 3 Mobile and their tech support can't help

Basically Nokia's messaging app is completely flawed. If you visit www.seven.com and try their BETA program you'll find you get push email and it works fine on the E71. Unfortunately Nokia's email set up just doesn't work properly as it tries to be intelligent but just doesn't realise that many people's email domain does not necessarily host their email!!
It's very frustrating because I would love to use Nokia solutions on my Nokia device...but alas I cannot...shame.

Nokia email - up to 10 email addresses

Hi, I have a X6, 16G and I have added the Nokia email app to receive up to 10 email addresses. I only have 3 that I want to come in on the phone.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of some sort of user/set up/idiot guide because I have tried to set it up (but only have 2 of the 3), but it's not receiving any emails and i'm stuck!!

the internal email client is just that. like a mobile version of an outlook.
nokia messaging is a service that gets set up and links directly into the email client.
it wasnt always this way. on the older s60v3 devices, it was actually a stand-alone applications that you dowloaded and then had to open that up to see all the email addresses.
NM allows you to have push email, like that of a blackberry client, without having your own server, etc.
you may want to re-set up your email accounts from a fresh start to be sure that the settings are being followed the way you want.

Anyone use Hotmail/pop3 via the nokia email client...

Iv'e set up hotmail (pop3) on my nokia 6303 via the email client but whether i set it to retrieve "headers only" or "whole email" it always downloads the whole email if message size is under 600kb ish and only the headers if email is above that size regardless of the setting. I tried setting up hotmail on a nokia 6600 and it does the same thing so i think its a hotmail or pop3 issue? I have the latest firmware installed.
I set up my gmail account (imap4) on the phone too and only downloads headers as requested.
Really frustrating as data bill too high to use the email client at moment. Anyone set up hotmail successfully on their nokia?

Just go to messaging, then email, and click on that - it will ask you for your hotmail address and password and then click ok to automatically search for settings from the internet. thats it.
Once done go to messaging, click down to message settings, then email settings. You can chosse various settings here as you like, then go to edit mail boxes at the bottom and you can edit your hotmail - here you can choose if you wnat to download just headers or the whole email. this is what didnt work for me - even if i set it up for just the header, it downloads the whole email.

HOW DO I SEND AN EMAIL AND SHOW IT COMING FROM A DIFFERENT ADDRESS?

I'm a newbie to the iMac, having taken receipt yesterday and currently trying to set up email - can anyone help please?
I have a business email address attached to my domain name that I like to appear on all emails I send and be the default address sent to once reply is hit.
This was easily achieved in in MS Outlook on my old desktop where the email was sent through a TalkTalk account, but showed my business email address, but so far does not appear possible in Mail.
I understand there are issues between TalkTalk and Apple, so have alternate accounts with BTInternet and Gmail, but cannot achieve the desired result with those either. Despite surfing the net for the best part of the day looking for answers I'm no further forward, can anyone shed light on a solution please?

In order for the "From" field to show you options on the "from" addresses available, you must set them up in the Preferences > Accounts first.
I can't show you a screen shot of the from field because I currently only have one account, so the from address used is the default. However, when I had more than one, then options will show up in your compose/reply window.
