Nokia Email Beta

I am unable to login to the Nokia Email site whether from my PC to check the settings or from my Nokia e71 to retrieve my emails.
The website advises me that my username and/or password do not match any accounts on record and the mobile advises me that my credentials have expired.
I have been able to generate a new password for my username using the website but even using the newly generated password I am unable to login into the site.
I am assuming that there is a server issue at the Nokia end but would be grateful for any other useful suggestions.
The Nokia Email site Feedback form also fails to submit my query.

Hello, while Nokia solve the problems they have with Nokia Email (because I haven't been able to run it in my phone E61i after I installed) I recomend you to install in your phone Seven Email. Yopu can download it from www.seven.com and it's totally free. Since I have it, it has worked very well. It works with POP mails, hotmail ( Nokia Email do not support Hotmail) and Gmail.

  • Nokia Email Beta - Battery problems

    hi,
i have just recently purchased the E71. i used it for about a week before installing the new Email Service Beta. Since installing it, I don't seem to get more than 24hours out of the phone, which should last 10 days.
I also noticed that once the Nokia Email Service Beta was installed the 3G network connection stays permanently connected. I wondered if this might be part of the reason for the battery being used up so quickly?
I realise this is a very early beta, so i'm just pointing out my experience (reporting bugs) rather than looking for a solution.

If you still want to receive e-mail on the phone but don't need to know the second it arrives, then you can have the phone poll your e-mail account every 30 minutes. Furthermore, you can have it do so only between certain hours and on selected days
The phone will then only connect periodically, you'll still know fairly quickly if there's mail for you and your battery will last much longer.
IMAP4 is a good solution to synchronize mail across multiple machines. Whenever you sync to your mailbox on one machine, it'll automatically see whatever you've done previously on another machine accessing the same mailbox. Concurrent access to the same mailbox by multiple machines is still a bit of a headache.

  • Hanging accout in nokia email beta

Originally I tried to sign up for the email beta with an email account that required a custom smtp server address (i.e. the email address domain wasn't the same as the smtp server domain name, for cert reasons)
I could never complete the setup because of the issues with supporting this type of email setup.
I ended up taking another email account and using it as a new email beta account. With the beta tag removed, I'd like to see if I can add the initial failed email address as an additional email on my working account that I setup separately.
I can see no way to cancel or delete my old beta account. I also can't find any link for a "support" for the messaging service. The instructions say to go to nokia.com/support, but that seems to be more phone support and such.
Anyone have hints on either how I can delete my old account that never worked, or contact support?
    Thanks for the help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Go to email.nokia.com
After login in using ur email id u find a link button sayign active status for email service. You will find another link to cancel the same. Click it

  • Nokia Email

I have recently migrated from an E71-1 on which Nokia Email Beta was installed (and working well) to a 3G E71-2. I have had to install a new copy of Nokia Email Beta on the E71-2. When I open Nokia Email Beta, I am asked for a login password. None of my passwords are recognized. On the E71-1 I was not asked for a login password. Is it possible to bypass the login page or set a new password for Nokia Email Beta?

I had Nokia email on my E71-2 and it asked for a password only the first time -- I had it pushing my messages from a Gmail account. Either case, you will have to enter your account password at least once. Your E71 may have had an email inbox already defined and the app tool the password from there, which is why it never asked.
In any case, I removed Nokia email from my phone, I much prefer the threaded view of Gmail's client.

  • New Nokia Email slows phone down

I used to have Nokia Email beta which came with my E71 when I bought it in June 2009. It worked fine, but I had problems with my phone dropping calls suddenly, and O2 customer services told me to upgrade the software. Since then I have not been able to get a reliable email client for my gmail account. I downloaded http://store.ovi.com/content/22333 but this does not quite look like on the screenshots (but the one I used to have was like in the pics). Instead, this new thing integrated into my messaging menu, downloaded all my 5000 emails and clogged my phone up to the point that the messaging menu is slow beyond usability. I thought I was good at googling my problems, but I have failed to find anything. Ideally, I would like to go back to the version I used to have. The gmail mobile app doesn't get anywhere near the convenience of the old client. Please do point me to other threads or websites if this problem has been raised or described previously, and sorry if I missed it.

    Same problem from pc:
    https://email.nokia.com/account/home.action
then "signup" or "getstarted" link took me to :
    https://netac120.vie.hosting.nokia.com/account/selectDeviceEdit.action;jsessionid=3e2927ecc9a8e2a138...
After entering the phone number and phone type, and next button it went to:
    https://netac120.vie.hosting.nokia.com/account/selectDevice.action
    which is blank.
Could Nokia fix this web page?

  • No html in Nokia Email v. 3.21.0

Hello, I have a nokia E5 and have just updated (through Nokia Suite beta) the email application from 3.16.0 to 3.21.0. Since then all of my messages which contain html code are displayed as is, without the phone parsing the code. What I mean is instead of normal writing I just get html code.

    Great.
I deleted my accounts, as you suggested, and was able to replace my GMail account.
However, none of my Google Apps accounts will work now - I get the message "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again." when I try to set them up online.
And please don't suggest I've entered something incorrectly - there are only four boxes - email address, password, name, and username - and I've double checked that I've got them all right.  I've logged into and out of my accounts to check the password, and there is no two-factor authentication or anything like that on the accounts, which were working before I allowed that BLOODY UPDATE!!!
So, svi78, suggestions please?  Or are you going to fade away now things have got tricky, which is the normal M.O. for Nokia employees on these forums.

  • Nokia Email Client

I have tried setting up and using the built in Nokia Email Messaging client with little success on my Nokia E63. From what I have read it seems that Nokia has unfortunately restricted it so it only works properly over a mobile phone providers data network and not WIFI. I read somewhere that they had done this because it is designed as a push email client and so needs a constant connection (plus they can charge for it). If you don't have a mobile data connection it won't let you set it up although sometimes you get lucky like with gmail. The problem is, even if you do set it up, it doesn't work properly anyway.
Does anyone know of a simple free or inexpensive alternative POP3/IMAP email client that will work over WIFI? I am not interested in push email, just something to check my email whenever I am using WIFI. There is Profimail but it's very expensive compared to to the other apps I have purchased for my Nokia especially just for casual. I have searched in vain and find it hard to believe that Profimail is the only alternative email client out there.
What of course would be better is if Nokia would allow the built in client to be used as a regular non push email one that works over Wifi as well.
I can access the accounts via the web, but often the mobile web interface is primitive in usability compared to an email client.

Hey hockford, check for emoze. Not really sure if it would work for your model but it certainly worths a try.

  • Nokia email service slow/ unreliable (v.9.5.3.75 ...

    hi,
i'm trying nokia email  version 9.5.3.75  on my e61 (latest fw) some problems...
sometimes the email takes forever (hotmail and gmail  accounts) other times is imediate
and forcing syn doesn't help eitheir...
    is this normal ?
i understand that the service  is still in trial/beta mode but the persons that i know that already try it leave it definitely....
    regards,
    praecedo

    kevinchoo,
I have already given up on the level of support Nokia has for its customers, not even a reply to further troubleshoot after > a month of having this issue reported.
I am happy with SEVEN, and I don't think I would switch back to Nokia Email anytime soon unless their customer support improves.

  • Cost of Nokia email?

    Hi all,
I picked up an E71 yesterday and got the Nokia email service installed before I really knew what had happened!  I now notice that on the website it says that the service is free for the 60 day trial.  However there's no mention of what the cost will be after that.
Has anyone been told by Nokia, or managed to find out?  I rang Nokia care but they didn't seem to have any idea of a number.
Seems a bit silly to get people to sign up to a free trial when they can't find out what it'll cost at the end!
    Thanks,
    Dave

I don't think they've announced that yet. I've been using the free version since the Beta stages, I'm still waiting to know if the cost makes it wortk continuing.

  • Nokia C3's Nokia Email app is not responding after...

    Dear Nokia Team,
When I updated my Nokia C3-00's firmware from version 4.60 to 7.20, the responsiveness of the Ovi apps (Facebook and Twitter) is much better compare before, BUT, when I am opening the Nokia Email app, is freezes into "Loading Mail" status for almost a minute... Any problems with my update?
I properly connected this to my PC and it updated without any interruption... And some 3rd party apps is not working after updating to this version (I guess those few 3rd party apps doesnt know there is incremental update you provided for this model except Snaptu which is working now)
    Any address to this problem?
    Appreciate your immediate response. Thanks!

hi. i also face the same thing on my nokia c3.Third party software not available and mail app not working. But unlike other replies i am going to give you a solution.
Nokia new firmvare version i.e 7.2 currently block 3rd party software downloads. It only supports applications from ovi store. There is an installation process going on in ovi when we download an app which make it usable.so if you want to use a third party app all you hav to do is download it to pc then just copy that app to your memmory card or to phone memory which will work
    Next about the mail app.
I am a user from india and using the connection idea.when i updated my phone software i also lost my email app.
But yesterday when i requested for new internet setting i found in its items supported list, settings for nokia visual radio, nokia communities, nokia mail etc i set it as my configuration and used mail.At that time it was working. So you all want a propper internet settings containing settings for nokia mail to make mail app to work.Or you can configure it manually like you do on office outlook.
If u face anyproblem in using nokia c3. I will be happy to help you.

  • Latest Nokia Messaging (Nokia Email) can't silence...

This latest Nokia Messaging (Nokia Email) push email client has broken something that worked in last release. I don't know if other people are getting the same issue. But I am unable to silence the notifications alerts for new emails. Whether my phone is already locked or not or forced lock or unlock at the time, touching the homscreen doesn't disarm the mp3 which carrys on playing for 3.XX mins etc... even if I open email from the homescreen widget to run the program.
Computers must be male. As soon as you commit to one you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have obtained a better model. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on. Big power surges knock them out for the rest of the day.

    Same here using a 5800.
Logged into the Email website and my trial has expired. I contacted my operator (Orange UK) and they offer a push email service for £5 a month but all it does is send you an MMS with your email (doesn't even support HTML) which is rubbish. I was expecting it to use the Nokia Messaging app.
I'm getting so frustrated with Nokia lately. While people are kicking and screaming on the forums asking for help, they're handing out silly balloons in London to annoy HTC.

  • Nokia Email Support

    Hi,
Is there an email address or anything else I can get support for the new Nokia Email system? I can't find one since it left beta.
    Thanks
    Moray

Nokia Messaging will support access point selection in a new release soon, my guess in the next couple of weeks. In the current version, you cannot change the access point.
In the meantime a workaround for the access point problem :  I set my SmartConnect connection (you can only download this for free from the Download icon on your phone, thank you NOKIA) group as the default APN, I have the client using Wifi if available and the cellular network if not. This MUST be configured at initial setup, ie when you install Nokia Messaging, change it from "default" to the SmartConnect access point group.

  • Nokia email downloadlink

I have been trying to download the link to install in my phone The Nokia Email. I am from Caracas Venezuela, and this is my phone number. +58 (my country code) 414 (the operator code) and 3258935. When I go to the Nokia email service I write the number like this: +584143258935. After selecting my phone model (E61i) and writing my phone number it tells me that I will receive a text message with the link to download the software, but the text message do not arrive to my phone. Am I writing the phone number correctly? or there is something wrong with thw nokia email service page? Can someone help me with this?
    Regards,
    Orleans1

Not sure why it isn't working for you. It's still a beta service so nothing is guaranteed to work.
You can make the email team aware of this issue by using the "feedback" link in the top right hand corner of http://email.nokia.com
They may respond to you with an alternative way of downloading it.

  • Nokia Email changelog?

    Hi,
I gave up on Nokia Email a few months ago due to the system not working with my email addresses. I'm thinking of revisiting it after hearing favourable comments, but I can't find any notes, or even a version number of the current version.
Have there been any updates recently?
    Cheers
    Moray

Hello Moray, Latest version of NM is 2.2 Build 9.4.1.34. You have heard correct that NM is working much better than it was in the beginning. I will say give it a shot again.
