Nokia Email (v 2.1.0) - how to update?!?

Hi All,
I have Nokia e52 with Nokia Email preinstalled.
In connections configuration I can not choose Destination Network, only Access Points appear in the list.
I have read on Nokia Messaging blog about this issue. It is fixed apparently.
I cannot install newest version of Nokia Email - I get error "Incompatible version found, uninstall first". But I can not install Nokia Email - I guess it is a part of firmware (it does NOT appear in applications manager).
I have just updated my firmware and problem still remains
Please help,
Mike

Hello!
I can't update my e-mail client via Nokia e52 internet browser.
I enter address email.nokia.com, click download link. The application Nokia Email 9.07 has downloaded. After this the suggesting message to install Nokia Email 9.07 appears. But error appears after my agreement - "An incompatible version of this product is detected, and has to be uninstalled first"
I have no possibility to uninstall detected Email, so I don't see any Email client in Application Manager.
Nokia developers, please, fix this bug as soon as possible

    Hi fairview
Unfortunately it is not unknown for network provider to give out incorrect code but your code should be in similar format to this as you mention:
    #pw+000000000000000+1#
You use repeated "*" presses to obtain "pw+", allowing about a second between repeated presses; once you have mastered it the first time there is no problem.
Note that there are only limited attempts at inputting this code before you are locked out.

  • Nokia Emails Driving me round the bend!!!!!!!!!!!!...

This all seemed to start when I bought that last piece of inferior quality crud they laughingly called a phone from Nokia direct.
The lady who served me was exceptionally good.  Couldn't have asked for a nicer buying experience!
Absolutely everything since has been garbage, appart from the rescue advice I got from this forum during my bricking incident.
First, the "express delivery" just, errrr wasn't!
The phone was junked within days.
The call handling service was abismal.
The "we'll just replace it if" sales pitch didn't happen.
The repair center I was sent to errr,,,,,,couldn't!
In fact the whole experience  almost had me switching to another brand.  Only my fancy for an N900 stopped me..... UNTIL NOW!
some time ago I received an emailed news letter from Nokia.
It was garbage but it did have a well designed unsubscribe link so I unsub'd.  I received an Unsub confirmation then the next day I received another news letter.
It was garbage but it did have a well designed unsubscribe link so I unsub'd. I received an Unsub confirmation then the next day I received another news letter.
It was garbage but it did have a well designed unsubscribe link so I unsub'd. I received an Unsub confirmation then the next day I received another news letter.
It was garbage but..... hang on, I'm starting to see a pattern emerging here.
It would appear that each news letter is numbered and when you Unsub you only do it from that particular numbered newsletter at which point Nokia immediately generates a new one with a different number.
Has anyone else had this bother?
The unsubscribe link obviously doesn't work and neither does contacting Nokia.
Can anyone tell me how else to stop Nokia sending me this rubbish other than reporting them to the relevant authorities for sending bulk SPAM?

Just report them and save yourself the hassle - that will get a quick response if you live in the USA and many other places I am sure.  The unsubscribe laws are pretty clear with no room for interpretation.

  • Nokia Email conflicting versions

I seem to have two versions of Nokia Email in my 5800's Applications menu.
    - One is called "Email", using a pink "@" icon.
    - The other is called "Email Setup", using the same pink "@" icon but with stars around it.
I'm not sure why there are two entries or which one is newer. Both seem to do the same thing when I tap them.  They start the E-mail setup process.
I can't tell whether I have two different versions of Nokia E-mail on my phone, or just two icons that point to the same thing.  If I go to Options->Organize->Remove, they both ask if I want to remove Nokia Email.
I would like to remove the duplicate icon, and/or the older version of Nokia E-mail from my phone if there are two versions on it.  How can I do this without accidentally removing Nokia Email altogether?

I m using Nokia E72 with the updated firmware the new one which released in march i think.

My Nokia Messaging account is also active , and fone is connected with gmail , i checked everything , settings on phone and gmail server , and nokia messaging server , even doing sync manually , but nothing happens, Simply not getting any emails ,
But on the other hand i can send emails from it .
Some times its delivering emails but very late or sometimes instantly but very rare , from last 3 days this problem is annoying me too much.
I am using Gmail imap server for this, and i also tried using Yahoo , but same problem faced on yahoo, emails not coming or coming but very late and only a few ,
I have checked everything at my end , as im an advanced user not a novice so i think there is nothing wrong with the settings . i checked everything.

    a) how do you go about cancelling the NM Subscription (web site would help lol)
    Just open the website http://email.nokia.com
Login with ur primary email id and password (the email id which u first setup)
At the bottom you will find subscription status: press cancel.
After doing so you will remove your subscription from NMS server.
    b) Once you have done this, how do you re-subscribe.
    Again open website http://email.nokia.com
    click SIGN up
follow on screen prompts ( mobile no in country code format, select mobile model no, email id and password)
soon you will recieve text on mobile which will automatically show u START screen.
    c) How do you then set up Nokia Messaging on phone (rather than setting up email using the email wizard on phone which just creates a mailbox in Messaging)
the above mentioned method is alternate.
    d) How do you use PULL mail???
    Activate OFFLINE profile.
click new mailbox( in menu>email>new mailbox)
input the email id(mobile will ask to connect to internet just press cancel)
put the password for email id(mobile will ask to connect to internet just press cancel)
It will create a mailbox in messaging
    open mailbox( menu>email>option>settings>when to sync>update interval>5min)
open mailbox(menu>email>option>settings>advance mailbox setting> incomming > change access point to your data plan)
open mailbox(menu>email>option>settings>advance mailbox setting> incomming > change access point to your data plan)
     hope this will help you.

  • Nokia Email Access Point Configuration Disappeared

I`ve just upgraded to the new Nokia Email client on my N95-1 (model RM-159). It says it's version 9.04 (21).
Since upgrading, I haven't been able to configure the Access Point to be used by the email app, which used to be under General|Service Info. This is quite important to me, since I only want to let the app work when using WiFi.
Does anyone know what happened, or how can I fix it ?

This works for the E71: for the time being a workaround for the access point problem:
I set my SmartConnect connection (you can only download this from the Download icon on your phone) group as the default APN, I have the client using Wifi if available and the cellular network if not. This MUST be configured at initial setup, ie when you install Nokia Messaging, change it from "default" to the SmartConnect access point group.

  • Nokia email service

hi can anyone tell me how long the nokia email service trail last for and when it ends how much would it cost to carry on using the service many thanks for your time

  • OMA E-mail Notification - nokia 5800 - nokia email...

    hi,
i have a problem using the e-mail notification from the automatic retrieval options for Nokia 5800. Again, it is not auto retrieval for messages or headers. It is a notification that it suppose to appear to my phone telling me "you've got mail" That does not happen even when i have new e-mails in my mailbox. Can any body help me? When i retrieve the messages, it ok, i receive them, but that s not the point. Maybe it is a gsm network provider issue? I use Vodafone in Romania.
Or, if this doesn't work, the Nokia Email software will be available for Nokia 5800 or already is?
    thanks

i had the same problem. The thing is, the email notifications do not seem to do anything (?) . The solution is to activate e-mail recovery (for example every five minutes), this way you'll get the notifications of new e-mails. But the problem is that then it starts to download all the messages in your inbox (when it is enabled, you cant choose how many emails you want to retrieve from your mailbox). I use that for gmail (i only have about 200 mails -it works fine) but for my hotmail inbox it downloads the 2000 messages headers (only headers !) and the phone gets really really slow every time i open that mailbox (in messaging app).
    Problem in Nokia Messaging?

  • Nokia Email 3.09.0 in recent E72/E52/E5/C5 firmwar...

Would anybody using one of the above phones tell me if Nokia Email 3.09.0 (or newer) was rolled into the most recent firmware?  (I believe it's 071.x ?)  You'd probably have needed to hard reset your phone recently to know the answer (i.e. do you still have Email 3.x after the reset or did it return to 2.x?)  I ask because I recently had need to remove the email update, but then found that "SW Update" (how it was originally installed, back in March) would not offer it to me for reinstall.  And 3.09.0 doesn't appear to be available from any other source!  After some testing, it seems Nokia actually removed 3.09.0 from the SW Update server, and this makes no sense unless the administrator forgot about E73 users like me, who last saw a firmware update in January.   Any insights?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Replying to my own question:
"Email version is 3.13, newer than 3.09 offered as upgrade to the previous FW"
    /t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/E52-Latest-Firmware-Version-071-004/m-p/1066815#M91817
So the obvious answer seems to be that 3.09.0 was removed from Software Update because the Nokia administrator assumed everybody would be running 3.13 by now.  Will apparently need to make another round of calls to Nokia and T-Mobile support.  Why is this so difficult?

  • New mailbox setup without nokia email

    Hi,
I’ve just bought a Nokia 5230 and I want to use the mailbox from messaging menu.
When I select “create new mailbox” the Nokia Email Setup wizard starts and it begins the download of Nokia Email.
I don’t want to use Nokia Email Setup; I just want to configure manually e-mail settings.
How do I do that? How can I disable the Nokia Email Setup?
    Thank you

  • E72 and Nokia email Major problem

Oh Nokia what have you done. I was using the Nokia email from nokia.email.com and in there I had my yahoo.com email account. You now longer let the yahoo.com address work inside the Nokia email.
So now I had to manually add my yahoo.com email address into the E72, but everytime the phone checks for email, it takes up so much of the phone cpu power all else locks up. Even has dropped my phone call as the whole phone went into a CPU bound state...
Nokia give me back my yahoo.com email in my nokia.email.com account. Let us add them back in. What have you done. You have basically killed anyone from using a Nokia E72 and yahoo.com email address.

As for whether Yahoo is a paid service for pop email or not is not a debate here. If you are a Verizon FIOS or Comcast internet customer in the USA, you get the POP email of Yahoo free. I am one of these so it is free.
But the fact remains. I used to use the Nokia email message service and had YAHOO as one of my email accounts. It picked up my yahoo.com email for over one year with very few issues. Onfe in a while I would have to restart the phone. Then last week it suddenly stopped.
I called customer servuice and they told me that Nokia email service no longer would work as I had it, to delete the yahoo account and re-add it.
When you re-add yahoo.com email address, it forces an IMAP setup (although I can tell you how to make the Yahoo pop work as I was able to override and trick the phone). As soon as you typ in any address @yahoo.com, it forces you to their IMAP setup within the Nokia E72.
So in IMAP setup of yahoo.com email on my main Ey2  screen I have my yahoo.com email account dstatus displayed. It simply says YAHOO MAIL and in parenthesis the number of unread messages. so mine right now says Yahoo Mail (23)
I have the phone set to check for email every 5 minutes... Pick up UPTO the last 100 messages and also pickup upto 500kb of email data (the old Nokia email message service way it would ask you HOW MANY WEEKS to go back and it would pick up most all email except not download attachments)
When the phone checks. it deletes MOST every (NOT EVERY) message in the yahoo inbox. If you are wtaching the main screen, you see the "23" for the amount of unread go all the way down to 1 (never to zero I dont thing) and then count back up to either 23 or if new email is there, it will go higher.
If you are in the yahoo inbox, you see the emails disappear and then re-appear as it deletes and re-synces all the email
Now if you are unlicky to be on the cell phone during call when it does this re-sync, it take so much CPU, that soemtimes I drop, but if I am in the middle of talking, I "zap" out for a second or two and the other person is wondering what happened if I am in the middle of a sentence. Onc again the phone seems to be CPU bound and all else stops working exceopt the retrieval of that email.
So MOST of the time when the phone is checking the yahoo account, it takes up so much CPU that the phone is basically unresponsive.
I seem not to be the only one who is having issues with a Nomkia hone and Yahoo.com
LOOK  here there are at least 2 others..

NOKIA's own support people told me that the NOKIA email program changed.  Yes it changed and now people are having issues with YAHOO.COM email.
Nopw if you would lik to knopw how to setup YAHOO.COM on a pop.. simply\
create ANY other POP account. It can be real or phoney. Then go back in and simply change the settings for yahoo.
    they are simple
user name / login:  email address w/o the yahoo.com.
    pop: pop.mail.yahoo.com
    smtp:: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
password: hey its your password. dont ask me
    email adress: full [email protected]
this seems to work. it does not kill the phone. It does not re-do all he email every time.
There is something about imap and yahoo.com email that you have messed up here and alot of us are seeing it.
    NOKIA what have you done?
All I want back is what I had just over a week ago. Once of the best phones in the world, fully working with my eMail...

  • Nokia Email info mail problems!!

    Hi,
i instaled to my telephone Nokia E71 Nokia email. Until yesterday it worked very good, since today morning i can not recive mails from my company info adress to nokia email programm. I recive from hotmail, gmail mails but not from my info mail??
How can i solve this problem??
    My mail is
Moderator Note: E-mail address removed. It is unwise to publish personal contact information on a public web forum.

If you still want to receive e-mail on the phone but don't need to know the second it arrives, then you can have the phone poll your e-mail account every 30 minutes. Furthermore, you can have it do so only between certain hours and on selected days
The phone will then only connect periodically, you'll still know fairly quickly if there's mail for you and your battery will last much longer.
IMAP4 is a good solution to synchronize mail across multiple machines. Whenever you sync to your mailbox on one machine, it'll automatically see whatever you've done previously on another machine accessing the same mailbox. Concurrent access to the same mailbox by multiple machines is still a bit of a headache.

  • Nokia Email Push wont work correctly on my N97

I'm trying to install the Nokia Messaging from email.nokia.com. The installation is fine. However after installation and I run Email application, the Email setup always take me to setting up the email of the application that comes which the phone out of the box. This app can be used as an email client however it is not a push notification. Instead people have to set the retrieval interval for it to query the email from the server.
I was able to install the Nokia Email push software but I reset my phone so I need to reinstall it.
I want it to take me to the SMS Provision screen so I can enter my account which I signed up on email.nokia.com for the app to query my email settings from nokia server, not from yahoo or gmail as in the default Nokia Messaging software.
I tried to uninstall the redownload then reinstall but I can't still get into the app I want. The email setup program (activated from application folder or from home screen widget) always take me to the default email client which is not a push notification.
My Nokia Email version is 10.00(10).
I have tried to go to email.nokia.com and send an sms that has the link to download the app again but still the same.
I also tried to go to the web page from the phone's web browser but got the same result.
So my question is am I missing something or how to setup the app correctly. Before I was able to set it up so I guess it's a hit or miss?
    Thanks.
    -Caten

This is a bug. Prior to the last update, nokia messaging worked fine on mine. Perfect with multiple accounts as well, Hotmail, Gmail and Mac. Now, it doesn't work at all. I have reformatted, hard reset three times, it still will not install properly and, when I finally was able to install it, not one of the other apps (photos and the camera) interface with it any longer.
When installing it before, it was simple. A link was sent, you clicked, and it asked for the password for the NM account. Simple as A,B,C. Whatever was setup in the online website was mirrored at the device level. It was very very simple to use and, for me, it worked excellent for over a year on two different phones not including this brick.
So, what happens now is that the mail program is not opening when using the send by email command. That particular menu item is also no longer appearing.
I used to be able to snap a pic, click the mail icon, choose email and off it went. Now, there's no option to send via email as there was prior to the update.
Also, when in photos, I could select multiple photos / pics and email them in one shot. It no longer functions at all. I am not able to even open the email program from within other apps. Clicking open does nothing so, there's no way to mail out that pic other than using the attachment function from withing the mail client itself.
This is a huge letdown because, I was so spoiled by the ease of workflow and the speed at which I could get things done and now, all of that is gone and I am left with nothing but a brick. Nothing works now as it did before the update. Not one thing funcions correctly after that last POS update.
I only hope that they fix this soon. I am back on my old E71 unlocked and, for now, that is the only option I have as the N97 is dead in the water floating belly up.
