Nokia Glace Screen

At some times the double-tapping is not responsive, makes it difficult and resorts me to using the Power Button. Also, when it mentions battery life, it only shows when I am charging? Why not my battery status when it is not charging?

Also, Windows Phone needs more performance. For a Dual-Core 1.5Ghz, it seems too slow to react sometimes, not using Battery Saver mode at those times either.
Such amazing hardware but all limited by the Windows Phone OS ecosystem.

Why not the battery life indication of life remaining? Why do we have to double-tap to see the wallpaper just to see how much life is left when we could just see it in the Glance Screen?
Slow issues are due to programs and if they are mobile, the programs shouldn't be that heavy, this 1.5GHz dual-core shouldn't have to make me wait for a program to load, I mean this is the reason for upgrading from my 1.4GHz Single-Core 710, it doesn't seem like it improved much.
I double-tap the screen sometimes on the Glance screen and it doesn't show me the wallpaper to unlock the phone, it is annoying, I have to double-tap it with my thumbs The real problem is that I double-tap too fast or too slow, this should be fixed. Rather use the Power Button, when I was hoping to use the double-tap feature, only for it to be a nuisance.

Nokia 5800 [ Screen and phone problems]

I got a problem with my nokia 5800 screen,
sometimes when my brightness is bellow 80% 2-3 flikering lines apear wherever i am ( home screen, watching a video, browser,call someone etc.)
when brightness is at 80% its normal always( maybe of the high brightness i may not see the lines)

The 5800 is getting on in years now so it's definitely a hardware issue your facing. Your best bet is to visit a Nokia Care Point and see if it's worth the cost of repair otherwise you'd be better off getting a new phone.

Nokia Big Screen has Small Resolution

Am using Nokia Phone Broswer 2 together with Nokia Big Screen for HDMI connectio to TV set. This produces low-resolution iamges on the TV screen, as if the phone browser choses a resolution for its own screen and is not aware of the Big Screen.
I suggest Nokia to improve the integration between these 2 apps

It's not possible to use BigScreen to browse the internet on a TV. It currently only supports videos, pictures and music.

N8 - Nokia Sleeping Screen / Situations

I am interested in trying out Nokia Sleeping Screens available from the Beta Lab.
However, I already use Nokia Situations and I am very impressed with it, especially it's ability to switch profiles at certain times (eg, switching to my Night Time profile from 11pm until 8.00am)
How would Sleeping Screens work with Situations, or are they 2 completely different applications?

Current: Nokia N8 (Anna - I have no intention of going to Belle) - and delighted with it!

I think that I was under the impression that Sleeping Screen was more than just a screen saver and I was thinking that some of the features were similar to Situations.

Lumia black update does not support glace screen i...

Recently, i have updated lumia black in my lumia 520. But as claimed in advt., I couldn't get the update of glace screen. Their is no link visible in settings.

where was it claimed? The Lumia 625 and 520 does not support Glance screen even when updated to Black.

Or u downloaded the same from a third-party website ??
Just For your knoledge, NSS is not a compatible app with your phone,
It only works Smoothly with Nokia N8-00 & C7
& with some other models after sum MODS.

Nokia 6300 screen suddenly broke

Yesterday my Nokia 6300 screen broke - weirldy it was doing nothing more than sitting on a table in the shade at the time. It was neither dropped, bashed, dunked in water, shaken violently, microwaved, abducted by aliens nor anything else that might be bad for a mobile phone. I've had the phone for only one month, and tried to fix it by switching it off and on, taking the battery out and putting it back in again. The screen is covered in lines and unusable. Has anyone else had this sort of problem with a 6300 (or similar) mobile phone?

Hello, with my Nokia 6300 (which I love) the screen suddenly went weird, it has horizontal coloured lines on it and screen is orange coloured. It is unusable but every now and then it comes good for a few minutes and is like nothing had happened. It still works fine but I cannot read the screen so is unuseable. I did have it in my pocket at the time but my pants were not tight and I am sure I did not bang or bump it. If it is the screen cracked why would it work fine occasionally. Also our nearest Nokia centre is 3 hours drive away.

"If you faced installing problems and you have "ODML commons repository" installed in Settings... Application installer, try removing that. It's a part of some old Maps Beta that stays on system persistently. Re-install Maps if needed."
I did this and now I can install Nokia Big Screen! Yay.

Yes,
Take out the battery, leave the fone for 3 - 5 minutes, slot in back the battery press GREEN button + RED button + CAMERA button simultaneously then while holding these 3 buttons, turn ON the fone ow and hold till u have the "Country Selection" prompted.

Nokia E6 screen won't display

I've been having this problem since yesterday. At first when I would screen lock my phone and then go to unlock it, it would take much longer than usual to turn on, slowly it wouldn't display at all without a hard reset. Now after a hard reset the phone doesn't display anything. The backlit light turns on and the keyboard is responsive, the phone is working, and yet the screen won't display. What can I do?

Nokia N8 screen goes black in sunlight

I have this peculiar problem. Whenever i make a call walking in broad daylight (exposing the screen to the light) the screen goes black and it takes sometime before i am able to hold or end that particular call. This happens only when i make a call under sunlight. I have tried closing/opening the light sensor near the top end of the phone, but no effect anyway. Why does this happen?

That ain't a solution. It's a work around, but a very annoying one.
I have a question. When you swipe your nail on th screen from left to right or from the right to left and go over the frame, do you feel that the display is lower than the frame?
On flawless N8's, you shouldn't hang with your nail at the frame..
I say this is a hardware issue. I have two N8's and one has the same issue. Turning the Light Sensor down doesn't help. And the affected N8 has a display that is lower than the frame and you will hang at the frame with your nail when doing the swipe move on the display.

Nokia n8 screen / keylock time-out interrupts inco...

When I receive a call on my N8 the screen turns off and the handset automatically keylocks. I have to use the slider to unlock it to take the call. Similarly if I make a call on the N8 as soon as it connects with the called number the screen turns off and the handset automatically keylocks. Again I have to operate the slider to unlock it and continue with my call. Anyone know why it's doing this and what I can do to make it operate noramally again? I don't want to use the 'restore' function because that can cause loss of some settings. Should be grateful for any hbelp please. Thanks. Tony

Bought my N8 a month back
1) 1st day I have faced problem in deleting pictures in photo album (deleted pictures still appears as broken photo symbols), and also image errors in facebook photos. I visited service centre they reinstalled software problem still remained. Service technician said it should be some setting issue, will check with nokia expert and call back, but never called.
2) Second, during software update using PC, it hanged and never restarted. Returned to Service centre. They have given back my phone yesterday it seems they changed new motherbaord with new IMEI number.
3) Today again I started using thinking it should be fine, but now I am facing same blank screen problem when making / receiving calls and alarm (note this problem was not there earlier to repair). I just called Nokia service it seems they have not come across this problem before with anyone, they asked me to bring it to them to check.
Coincidentally i found another customer had faced similar problem under same situation (this problem started after changing motherboard), see link below:
