Nokia HDW - 3 with Silicon Wave Bluetooth Adapter ...

Hi,
I have the following configuration:
Nokia HDW - 3
Silicon Wave Bluetooth Adapter
Windows XP Pro SP3.
Many years ago I was able to get this headset working with another Bluetooth Dongle we had bought at the time.
Since then I have bought the Silicon Wave Bluetooth Adapter and not been able to get my bluetooth headset to work with the adapter and my PC. All three are working seperately, I know this because I've run numerous tests but they are not playing well together.
Is there something I am missing? Maybe there's some additional software out there I am not aware of that I can use to get Skype working with the hardware I have mentioned?
Thanks,
James

I figured it out...
On your Wave III remote, press "Aux" until "Bluetooth" appears, then hold down the presets "5" button until "Discoverable" appears. Open your mac's bluetooth in system preferences and it should show up and pair. It worked perfectly for me.

  • Iphone5s will not pair with my Bose Sound Wave Music Systme III through the wave bluetooth adapter.

My iphone5s does not pair with my Bose Wave Bluetooh Music Adapter on a Bose Wave Music System III. Has anyone solved this problem?

It is annoying the remote control keys for Bluetooth are not marked. However the Wave Bluetooth Music Adapter Owner's Guide has good instructions. Holding "5" triggers DISCOVERABLE mode.  Holding "6" clears the device list, a good last resort when Discovery fails.  I never remember these keystrokes.

    Make the Wave system Discoverable
For Wave Radio III and Wave Music System III: Press the AUX button until BLUETOOTH appears on the display. Press and hold down the Presets 5 button for 5 seconds.
For the Acoustic Wave Music System II: Press the CD button until BLUETOOTH appears on display. Press and hold down the Presets 5 button for 5 seconds.
The indicator on the music adapter flashes steadily and DISCOVERABLE flashes on the display.
    Clearing the memory
Press and hold the Presets 6 button on the remote for 10 seconds until you hear a tone. The Wave system clears all devices from its memory and returns to discoverable mode.

    Hi adam,
I'm running 64bit Arch on a Studio 1557 with an integrated usb bluetooth adapter (BCM2046).
In 2011 I had the very same problem you describe and got it fixed. Let me explain:
The bluetooth adapter has 2 modes of operation: HID mode and HCI mode.
In HID mode, it presents itself as a keyboard/mouse input device (in your case 413c:815[8/7]).
This allows you to use e.g. a bluetooth mouse that has been paired earlier - even if your OS doesn't support bluetooth.
In HCI mode, the device presents itself as a regular bluetooth adapter which can be used by your bluetooth stack (e.g. bluez) - that's what we want.
The problem back in 2011 was, that my adapter would default to HID mode and to switch it to HCI mode I had to use the 'hid2hci' tool (now part of bluez-utils).
For some time now bluez ships a udev rule which takes care of switching modes so everything worked flawlessly.
A couple of weeks ago, however, the problem resurfaced and I haven't found a fix yet.
I noticed that the udev rule isn't triggered anymore and running hid2hci (/lib/udev/hid2hci) manually doesn't work either (gives an error saying 'unable to handle [devpath]').
The only way to use the bluetooth adapter in arch for me is to boot Windows inside a Virtual machine, attach the USB touchpad device (the HID proxy) and let Windows switch it to HCI mode.
This, however, only lasts until I reboot/resume from standby.
I believe this regression was caused by a package upgrade, since an older arch installation I had lying around still recogniced the adapter while an up-to-date installation wouldn't.
Unfortunately, said lecacy installation is now gone and downgrading arch to a point before the regression doesn't seem feasible.
Any suggestions are more than welcome!
    So long,
    rev

  • Epson RX595 and Jabra a320s Bluetooth adapter?

    Hi all,
Just a quick question. I have an RX595 currently connected to my Time Capsule, and seeing as it is giving me difficulty with a Vista laptop (printing multiple copies of same job) I was looking into other connectivity options that don't include having to connect it to a computer and networking it that way. I have a Jabra a320s BT USB adapter, and when I place it in the USB port of the printer, it allows me to set up all the options in the menu (recognizes it as a BT adapter), yet when I try to add it to my MBP, I'm able to see it as a printer but it won't pair properly (times out after asking for pairing code). Do I have to buy the Epson Bluetooth print adapter or is there any way to make my setup work?

I used my RX595 with a Belkin bluetooth adapter. It's a few years old. I can't find it right now or I'd give you the model number. Anyway, I can only print by transferring files to the RX595. This gives me practically no format control. It only uses however I set up memory card printing, paper size and whatnot, having nothing to do with computer settings. I could also only get a .jpg file to work. The printer might do .pdf files, but I don't think it'll do anything else through bluetooth.
I'm a little bitter about their "bluetooth compatible" not including a bluetooth adapter, being so limited, and their printer sharing simply not working. Support refused to help with any of this. To quote them: "Epson tests and supports a direct connection from the printer to the Host PC/MAC." Advertising unsupported features, this is my last Epson printer for at least 4-5 years.

  • Is it possible to have a second bluetooth adapter?

    Hi
I've a new mac mini, with integrated bluetooth, but when I try to use de wireless keyboard on the next room, i can't get any signal. The walls have a lot of concrete in this zone.
So I'm wondering if is it possible to add an usb extension with second usb bluetooth adapter attached to it and connected on the other side of the wall?
Will it work? The keyboard would automatically shift from one receiver to another, or would I need to manually change it somehow?
    Thanks

It's not possible because there is no way to Mac OS X which Bluetooth hardware to use.
I just tried it with a USB Bluetooth Adapter here and the internal Bluetooth stopped working.

  • Pairing problems with built-in bluetooth and Sanyo Katana

I am unable to pair my Sanyo Katana cell phone with my PowerBook G4 with a built-in Bluetooth adapter.
The powerbook can see the cell phone in the devices list, but it shows up as its hexidecimal device ID rather than the name I've given the phone. The status line in the window periodically says "updating 1 name" but the name never changes. I've waited for 10 minutes or so but it still never updates, just continues to search for devices. I've also tried changing the name of the phone and that doesn't help. If I continue to the next screen without the device name updated, the pairing fails immediately without the phone prompting me for a password.
The phone is set to discoverable.
I've paired other devices (apple mouse and keyboard) with the internal Bluetooth adapter, so I know it is functional.
I've read other postings on this forum stating that the Sanyo Katana has been paired with an external bluetooth adapter, but I don't see anything about the internal adapter.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Hey, I hope people aren't getting annoyed by my compulsive posting, but I think this solution needs to be spread, it doesn't get enough publicity:
the issue is that with 10.5.1, a certain quicktime component that acts as a USB controller for the iSight camera is given an expiry time (i.e., the file is given a feature similar to "trial periods"). This file is then deleted, and iSight ceases to function. All that need be done is to replace the component, by downloading it here:
    http://techslaves.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=q8frk8vf81l0f8echu6mj0plk0&action=tpmo d;dl=item16
(disregard the version marking, it works for 10.5.2 in the very least)
Copy it to ~/System/Library/Quicktime, then reboot and it should work.

  • Bluetooth Adapter Causing Ethernet Not to be Found

    Hello,
I have a really quirky problem with my Mac. Every time I reboot with my Iogear bluetooth adapter in any USB port the Mac will only find the Ethernet card if I go into the Network settings. Then it will make it look like there is a new Ethernet card when really there is only one installed. This has happened on my old eMac and now is still happening on my Power Mac G5. I have searched the internet and cannot find anyone else with this problem. I have been debating on picking up a new bluetooth adapter, but wanted some other opinions. What do you suggest for fixing this? I guess I could always take the bluetooth adapter out when the system reboots. I did install a phone plugin from feisar.com, could that be causing this problem? I am not sure how to fix this.
    Thank you,
    Chris

Bluetooth is a possible networking method.
Go to System Preferences Network. Does Bluetooth show up on the list in the left sidebar? If so (and you don't need to use Bluetooth for networking), highlight Bluetooth and click the minus <-> sign. If the system no longer considers it to be a networking method, maybe it won't interfere with Ethernet.

  • 990XA-GD55 - USB bluetooth adapter becomes unrecognised if left plugged in

Hello all, I just bought and set up my new MSI 990XA-GD55 (bios 11.2) with an AMD FX-4100 3.6 GHz and I'm having a really weird problem with my usb bluetooth adapter. If I plug it in after Windows 7 (Pro 64-bit) is loaded it's recognized, installs drivers, etc. and works fine, but if I leave it plugged in and restart the machine the next time Windows loads up it shows as unrecognized until I unplug it and reinsert.
The same bluetooth adapter has been used on my old computer and worked fine attached to an internal usb header cable (which is what I'd like to do with this one). Any ideas?

Did windows do an 'auto' driver install? You might need to go to the manufacturers website for the specific driver package. If only a generic driver is installed, it can make the bluetooth unit do what you are experiencing.
    AMD FX-4100 3.60GHz
    MSI 990XA-GD55, bios v22.2
    G.SKILL  (2 x 4GB) DDR3 F3-17000CL11D-8GBSR
EVGA Nvidia Ge-Force 460 GTX 1 GB RAM
Hitachi 2 TB SATA III, 5400rpm (GPT formatted)
    LG Blu-ray RW SATA
Intel Wifi Link 1000 bgn (Mini Pci-E to Pci-e adapter)
    Corsair 600Watt PSU (+12V@40A)
    Windows 7 Professional sp1 x64
It did do an auto driver install, but it's not just a generic driver. It shows up as an ASUS bluetooth adapter and it works when you plug it in while Windows is running, but when you restart with it plugged it it won't work anymore.

Which is the oldest, the motherboard or the Windows installation?
They're both the same age, this is a freshly built system. This was the first thing I noticed when I completed Windows setup.

  • D-link bluetooth adapter with Nokia N70 problem

I bought a D-link Bluetooth adapter to sync my Nokia N70 with my iMac G5 (1st gen). Adapter is perfectly accepted. Paring with N70 goes well. Sending files: no problem. But: iSync says cannot connect to this device. I have all updates for iSync and MacOS X 10.4.6.
How to solve this? Any solutions or experiences much appreciated!
    Frank

In my services field it says:
SDP Server, AppleAgent, Hands-Free Audio Gateway, Headset Audio Gateway, OBEX File Transfer, SyncMLClient, Nokia OBEX PC Suite Services, OBEX Object Push, Imaging, Dial-Up Networking, Salling Clicker
    Paired: Yes
    Configured: Yes
    Favorite: Yes
    Connected: No
    Serial Port: Yes
Encouraged to play around again, I found out that while sending a file from a SE K750 i it appeared in iSync, while before it did not. I repeated the same with the Nokia N70: as soon I was having an active connection sending files and at the same time ordered it to add a device to iSync it accepted it.
Now bluetooth seems to be working, except for one thing. When I use Bluetooth to connect my iBook and iMac I'm able to send files, but I'm not able to browse the other computer. Again it say something about services....

  • Bluetooth adapter with digital input

I'm interested to purchase a bose solo tv speaker together with a bluetooth adapter so that i can play music from my laptop using the bose speakers. Do you have any bluetooth adapters that I can plug into the digital input of the bose speakers instead of the RCA input so that I can enjoy better sound quality?

If i were still like to look for a blue tooth adapter with digital input, are there any out there?
Rocketfish makes one with digital but there are issues with it's range, Belkin and Harmon Kardon make them, but they're analog only. All of them are in the same $50.00 price range.
But the connectivity doesn't matter, you will not be able to tell the difference in audio fidelity between analog or digital using bluetooth.
Bluetooth simply doesn't have the bandwidth to carry any type of audio that needs a higher bandwidth digital connection. Digital Stereo maxes out at 1.41 Mbps, Bluetooth A2DP which is the best option for audio right now, maxes out at 768kbps.
There's a nice and consice article here that briefly goes over the technical details:

  • Bluetooth adapter DBT-122 from DLink. compliant with JSR-82?

Hi I have a Bluetooth adapter DBT-122 from DLink.
I would like to program java application in my PC using bluetooth USB adapter. I have a driver called widcomm for it. I am wondeing whether the driver and adapter are JAR-82 compliant.
I checked with with Dlink and Broadcom which took over widcomm and they gave me no replies. Is there anyone who knows it? If not, dow do I do about the driver and adapter? I am very eager to do programming in java application for Bluettoth in PC to talk with cellphone.
    regards,
    Clement

Low quality is not a problem. I work in an office that forbids ANY ambient music in the background (!!), and since I have to interact with others I need to keep an ear open rather than having a stereo headset mounted on my head. Having a single ear listening to some 'tunes is ideal, and the freedom of going wireless is very appealling! It would give me the ability to block out the annoying and distracting conversations for when my own concentration on the task at hand is critical, and also give me the freedom to move about without being tethered.
I've ordered a DBT-120 bluetooth adapter. It had *better* work to pipe my iTunes songs to the headset! I've got both Mac and Windows machines in front of me at my desk, but prefer to use the Mac. The current iogear bluetooth adapter I have does work on Windows, so I guess I have an option even if the DBT-120/Mac combination doesn't work out.
