Nokia Help

I hope you guys have noticed that the "help feature " that comes with most nokia phones is changing in "quality". It used to be great in earlier models eg nokia 6260...even N95 help feature wasn't terrible...but you can easily see that the N97 help feature isn't helpful in most cases...no enough details that can actually make one understands anything. I  know this is changing because I have nokia 6260 (in my cupboard) and I can easily compare the information that its help feature can tell me with that of n95 and n97. I thought nokia was going to incorporate more help in it phones as the phone memory get bigger and bigger with development in tech. why are users getting less and less with growing phone memory?

I'm not really sure, unless Nokia is expecting that people after all these years should be more informed with their phones already and stopped treating everybody as "noobs" to the phone. Although this may be wrong in a way that everybody is a noob when they start out and some people are only starting out just now.

Is there a phone number for Nokia help? I would like to speak with a live person to get help with my problem

  • Why dont nokia help more with language settings? (...

this is for all nokia phones but the one i have is the n97 and depending on where you buy the phone it has different languages in the settings. and for a lot of people who decide to buy theirs from ebay or from another country and have to suffer without their language.. in my case i wanted greek in the phone, and as i got mine from a english guy the uk n97 had various languages such as russian and french which to me is no good. i really need GREEK..
so i came to ask is there a way to add languaqges and i am told no? but there is a way! why does nokia lie and make me take it to a nokia store to pay to add it? why cant nokia either add all the same languages in the phone no matter where you get it like apple do..or give you the option as to which languages you want to install?
i found it very annoying that nokia just dont allow you to add languages on your own even though there is a way to add the language which i wont mention how my post will probably be deleted if i do.. but there is a way why do nokia lie and keep it such a secret like its a bad thing that i want greek on my phone? but when you change languages the keyboard keys mess up and change postitioning which can be very annoying also which is why i dont use this option.. and i dont want to go pay more to add a language.

    thanks for your reply..
i do understand that why would a guy in china need arabic or some other language that he/she does not speak
apple iphone they have the same set of languages in the phone no matter where you buy it..
maybe you buy the phone from ebay? and you buy it from another country that does not have your language in the settings? or like me i was using a cyprus forum where a guy from england was offering it for 450 euros.. when in cyprus its sold for 800 euros.. so i went for it but the language i wanted wasent there.
there should be an option to install more languages if you want/need.. im sure i am not the only one that has this problem with languages from a nokia that was bought from another country for whatever reasons.
i can change my phones code to one from greece and get greek but my keyboards settings mess up and the keys move.surely nokia could easily add an option to download language packs if i wanted? its not like its not possible or doing anything wrong
and now that i look in my phones settings it has russian dutch french... i could ask the same question,, why would i need them languages for a phone intended for UK when the language of england is english?

  • J2ME on Windows Mobile 5.0 xda exec and series 60 nokia help!

    Hi guys,
I am running an application on my Nokia 6680 mobile phone (symbian series 60), and I am able to recieve a bluetooth connection using a hard coded address of the bluetooth device. The bluetooth device I connect to is a GPS device, HOLOX BT-321. All working fine!
Problem occurs when I use the same application on an XDA Exec from O2 (also called i-mate Jasjar and M5000), the application does not connect to the bluetooth gps device, it pairs with it but when I run the application it doesnt communicate with the gps reciever, i.e the bluetooth light doesnt flash on the gps reciever to show a connection.
Why does it work on one and not the other? Both Nokia 6680 and XDA Exec uses bluetooth v1.2 as does the gps device. Both support J2ME and CLDC 1.1 with MIDP 2.0! So why doesnt it work? Any ideas??
The code i use is on the folowing website...
    http://www.hcilab.org/documents/tutorials/BT_GPS/BT_GPS.htm
As I said you have to hard code the gps device your connecting to. It works on the Nokia 6680 fine!
    Thanks...

    Hiya,
did you find a solution to the problem?
I've actually tried to access the BT API from the Exec and it seemed that the KVM (Intent) had not implemented the Bluetooth API? interrogating the system.properties the bleuetooth specific ones all returned null
Also, when trying to scan for devices, the midlet would just hang.
The fact that it pairs, means actually little - I can access the GPS (and read the NMEA sentences) using C++ and native Windows calls (but no good from J2ME as JNI is not implemented)
if you have solved the problem, please do let me know ([email protected])
    cheers
    Marco.

  • Nokia 5530 text to speech feature help

Its mentioned in the specifications for 5530 that it has a text to speech feature. Can anybody tell me how to use it..???

    emailed Nokia and here is their reply;
Thank you for emailing Nokia Care.
It is true that the technical specifications does list the Text to speech as one of the applications installed on the Nokia 5530XM. You may refer to your user guide under the term 'Message reader' as well. Please open your applications folder and browse for your Text to speech folder.
Settings are required prior to using the feature as in the language, voice and the voice settings. Upon completing these settings, you can simply pick up a message from your inbox, select Options and Read.
Should you not have the software in your phone, please download it from the following link. If the Nokia 5530XM is not listed, you can select any of the other XM phones but series 60 like the 5800XM
    http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/text-to-speech#
so downloaded software and voice package but still no joy-nothing in the extended user guide on the Nokia web  site
the key appears to be the 'text to speech' icon in the applications folder which I don't have on my 5530 phone ( very helpful chap at CFW cant find it either)

When I connect my phone knows is it connected to a computer, but iSync cannot see the phone. What am I doing wrong. This is driving me nuts.
I want to back-up contact info and downoad my adresbook to the nokia/
    Help appreciated.
    Reinold

Oh, you have an other problem. Note that 6230 and 6230i are 2 totally different phones
Your problem is that it seems that support for older revisions of 6230 are disabled by Apple. I think this should be because of phone bugs. You have two choices here:
    1) upgrade your phone software as advised by iSync
    2) go look in an other thread how to bypass Apple decision (with the risk that it won't work...):

I have only ever contacted nokia help on 2 occassions and both times I have felt fobbed off. Now why cant you answer if the phone is compatable to Trutones, and what does this SUBSCRIBE TO PACKET DATA FIRST mean. I am getting nowhere with this and it is driving me to distraction, o2 have been of little help and now I feel let down by you, surely it cant be that difficult a question. Can it?????

  • Nokia 6300: Lost memory card = Lost applications

    Hi
Does anyone know if I can download the Collection software that came on the included memory card of my new 6300?
I somehow lost the microSD card and no way I'm i retracing my steps to try and find it. Ive ordered a bigger memory card but wanted to download the applications that originally came with the phone.
I've tried a few routes Nokia/Orange but no one seems to know. I'm looking to anyone out there who may have an idea.
    Many thanks
    Barry

I had the same problem and contacted Nokia help email,
    Solution
    1. Install Nokia PC suite on your PC.
    2. Have original memory card with games etc on it in your phone.
    3. Connect your phone by cable to your PC and select Nokia mode on your phone and File manager in PC suite.
4.Select 'memory card' in the window that appears and select all folders on the card, transfer the folders to your 'desktop' on your PC.
    5. Place your new 1GB card into a usb card reader and transfer the folders from your desktop to the new card.
    6. Replace the new card for the old and all should be OK, you are supposed to be-able to transfer direct from the PC to your phone but the 'Games & Collection' folders won't move !.

What is the reason ? These phones were bought "naked"...
Don't we deserve software updates ?
I had to go to a Nokia Care Center to get Belle (and I had to pay for it !).
Belle is ok, but I will not buy another Nokia phone since I can not be sure to have software updates in the future !
You can tell that to your managers !
    Best regards.

  • Nokia x7 issue

hi, recently purchased a x7. But i have issues on touch screen. Some options are not sensable for touch. Pls help.

Can ANYONE help with this thanks, I only need to know if the compass icon in navigation actually functions. Nokia can't give me an actual answer that helps. Nokia service said it was fixed - it wasn't Nokia help firstly tells me it alternates from green to yellow to red to white - it doesn’t (nor do I believe an X7 can), in fact I think it has only blue with a red pointer. The next response tells me Green = direction of travel & Red = North. It always remains feint or greyed out!!!
The Nokia Care Centre don’t even have an X7 that they can compare/show me the actual compass in action – it is just so annoying when a manufacturer doesn’t seem to understand their own product but what is even worse is that Nokia will NOT offer any help or assistance on their own forum! The email responses seem to be auto responders as the answer never matches the actual question!
ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
