  • Nokia lumia 1320 off and continuously vibrating.

I bought Nokia lumia 1320, 5 days back. On 3rd day when I took phone, I saw it was contineously vibrating. I tried to unlock but no responce. It keeps vibrating. That is like off and vibrating. I did a soft reset by pressing volume down and power button. It restarted and worked fine. After one day same problem again happened. I again soft reset it. Today also it happened. Is this a hardware problem or software ? Anybody else facing the issue ? Any solution ?

I contacted shop and they agreed to replace my mobile. But I think the issue was when I used IM+ and Skype and when I get messages. When we close thses apps and we get messages as push notifications. I think not all but some of these push notifications are causing the issue. I don't know if this is present with all windows os.

  • Nokia Lumia 1320 random restarts after Denim updat...

    Dear Microsoft / Nokia,
I am writing this forum post because my nokia lumia 1320 is suffering some problems. Since the update, the phone is restarting itselve randomly.Today, the phone restarted itselve 3 times already, which was the provocation to send you this message.
I think it is a problem resulting from the recent Lumia denim update, before the lumia was significantly more stable.
The phone was factory resetted after the lumia denim update (1 week ago), and today i also performed a soft reset, without any results. (still random restarts).
Furthermore i noticed that sometimes the phone is unresponsive when i push the powerbutton, to unlock the phone.
My phone is on 8.10.14219.341, firmware: 3058.50000.1424.0001 (it is the Country variant from the Netherlands).
Hopefully there is a way to fix this problem,
    Thank you in advance,
    Wouter van Buul
Ps. I am not sure if this is the right place to report bugs?!

This is a user to user forum where we try to help each other, so reporting bugs is not the purpose of this community, that should be done direct to your local Microsoft Mobile support. However your problem is not a bug, just a technical issue with your handset and we can try to help.
Have you checked that all your system apps are up to date after the Denim update ? The easiest way to do that is from settings > applications > store > check for updates. If everything is up to date, I would do the following troubleshooting if I had this problem:
1.Remove the microSD memory card temporarily and monitor whether the reboots continue
    2. Get a new replacement SIM from your network
    3. If none of the above works, the next step would be a hard reset (settings > about > reset my phone), but since you say you have already done it, you can try a complete full reinstall of your firmware using the Software Recovery Tool. Please note this will completely wipe you phone, so a backup is highly recommended.

  • Nokia Lumia 1320 does not recognize media files properly

    Hello
I have the following problem with my Nokia Lumia 1320:
media files (either music or video) are not recognized properly and therefore seen in "other" section of Storage.
There has been a discussion here a while ago here:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/042cc9fb-ea9e-444c-98f0-8c1d0930e326/sd-card-problem-with-my-nokia-lumia-1320-unable-to-use-it-properly?forum=winphoneosissues
But my problem is in fact that media files are not recognized even on the phone itself which is very surprising.
I have tried several ways to copy the files over:
    - Win Explorer on Win XP
    - Win Explorer on Win 8
    - special app on Win 8
    with the same result.
Moreover, sometimes the files are not read by the official Music app with the following odd errors:
    - 80070002
    - 80070003
Even more problems occur with the SD Card:
some files fail to be transferred there and disappear after the phone restart. I have tried the ways above to copy these files with no luck.
I have also tried both hard and soft phone reset, formatted SD Card via phone and PCs.
    The problems described still persist.
Does anyone have ideas/ways to fix those problems?
The phone is really nice but it's pretty annoying to meet these problems.
Interestingly, my previous WPs (HTC 7 Trophy and HTC 8X) didn't have a half of the problems described above. Bad luck...
    Details of my phone are:
    - Nokia Lumia 1320
    - OS: 8.10.12393.890
    - Region Set: United Kingdom

  • Nokia Lumia 1320 Wifi error Could Not Connect To T...

    Hi,
I'm having trouble with my phone connecting with my Wifi router model Netgear WNAP210 Router, when I type the password in it says either that it is unable to connect or sometimes that the password is incorrect!!
I have contacted Netgear and they suggested changing the router name to remove any underscore symbols "_", I did this today but still get this annoying message on the phone.
I've tried deleting found connections and starting from scratch and have also amended the router name (which shows correctly when scanning for Wifi on the Nokia). Now it's starting to get me really wound up....please please help?
    Thanks,

Hi, AdamTh. Make sure that your phone's software and system apps are updated. You should see 'Lumia Cyan' under Settings> extras+info to confirm that you have the latest software update. For your system apps, go here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Pool-of-Knowledge/Nokia-Windows-Phone-8-App-Updates/td-p/1640082. After checking that, you can visit this link: Nokia Lumia 1320 - Troubleshooter and try the workarounds listed. The link is intended for the US. Keep us posted. By the way, welcome to our forum.

  • Problem with display of nokia lumia 1320

My lumia 1320 display has broken,,but the phone is still 100 percentage functional ,,,but there seems to be a lot of cracks on the display...so...what should i do???
should i replace display or digitizer or front glass screen lense cover...please help

Hi, as this is the official discussion forum, we cannot discuss warranty voiding actions such as self repair.
What I would suggest anyway, is that you bring it to a Nokia care point to have it repaired. It will cost you, but you get it professionally done.
    Good luck!

  • NOKIA LUMIA 1320: Thai ROM no 4G

    Hi there,
Just a quick one, I bought a Lumia 1320 on ebay and somehow found out that the phone has a Thai ROM, which in itself it's not a problem but I'm just wondering if, being in the UK, this can impact the phone usage.
And eventhough I have a 4G SIM / contract, the phone doesn't offer me the option to go 4G
Is there any point in installing a UK ROM?
If so, how do I do it?
    Thanks.

IMO, this whole idea of disabling 4G on certain devices is stupid.
When i purchase an operator unlocked phone, I should be able to use it with any operator anywhere in the world.
Disabling the 4G option in "max connection speed", is not doing any good is it?
What damage could it cause anyway.
If the country/ network operator doesn't provide 4G, and yet the user stupidly selects 4G in max connection speed, the phone would simply fall back to 3G (or even 2G)
But the converse is not true. If the user moves to a country which has 4G, he cannot select 3G as max speed and expect the phone to automatically jump to 4G.
I say, if the hardware is capable of doing something, then you should give it to the user.
This is classic Windows. It does the same on the computer too!
The Windows 8.1, and the Windows 8.1 Pro, are the same operating systems.
Depending on the product key used, features are locked in the standard version
The actual explanation for this, not the pub-argument version, is the following:
When using a 4G/LTE enabled phone in countries where 4G/LTE networks are not yet deployed or still under construction, there may be issues with calls, SMS, or data connection. In worst cases the phone SIM may be rejected by the network.
In line with this, when a Lumia is purchased in a country where 4G/LTE network is not yet enabled by the operator, the devices are be shipped pre-configured to 3G network connectivity to avoid these problems.
If 4G/LTE networks become available later, it is possible to enable the capability with an over-the-air software update. However, unfortunately there is no information on when this particular over the air software update may become available for a specific device.

  • Nokia Lumia 920 potential battery drain issue?

Can you Nokia confirm this? http://reach.jdbpocketware.com/topic/128305-to-nokia-ref-lumia-920/
    The issue illustrated in detail:
    Nature of Windows Phone buttons
Pressing either the power button or the camera button will cause the device screen to turn on, even when the proximity sensor detects proximity.
    The lockscreen behavior
Upon power on, screen lights up and shows the lockscreen (or camera), which runs a timeout to auto power off the device if screen is not touched in X seconds.
But if screen is touched, the timeout counter is restarted, so continuous touching could lead into a loop, the "death loop" which won't let the device to power off (standby) and will consume battery life.
    New touchscreen technology
The Nokia Lumia 920 comes with a touchscreen that reacts to touch from pretty much any material such as metal or clothes. This can be dangerous.
    So here is a theory
When the phone is inside a pocket or bag it can be touched by other objects. These objects can press buttons and can touch/rub the screen. This will initiate the "death loop" for who knows how much time, could be minutes or hours, depends on how active the user is since body movement will produce friction between objects/clothes and touchscreen:
The "death loop" will drain battery and battery is precious.
    Solution?
Should be simple: screen must not power on if the proximity sensor detects proximity. Current version of Windows Phone does not take care of this. The big question is: will Windows Phone 8 take care of this? Is the Lumia 920 a potential battery drainer?

I don't understand why we have to spend our valuable time in the forums for days and nights to FIND HOW TO FIX THAT CRAB!! NOKIA company did not handout these devices FOR CHARITY.All of us had paid around a thousand dollars to buy this Phone. They have got to work overtime to fix it and publish a solution otherwise recall the devices back.

  • Nokia Lumia 822 for Verizon - Application Issues

First – I apologize in advance for the length of this post – I just wanted to provide as much detail as I could to help others that might run into problems like I did.
I just got my Nokia Lumia 822 for Verizon and had some issues that I believe were related to the phone being set up for English United Kingdom instead of English USA.
When the associate was done setting up my phone, I started using it and noticed immediately that the virtual keyboard was set for UK English (it displayed a co.uk button instead of a .com button).  I went into Settings > System > Keyboard and Settings > System > language+region and switched from English UK to English USA, and I thought everything would be fine.
Although phone functionality, texting, 4G, WiFi, and voice mail from the Verizon Wireless Phone application all worked, and I was able to download applications from the Windows App Store, I had the following issues:
My Verizon Mobile hangs at “Loading Resources…” screen
Voicemail application – got “SIM Error – Unable to read SIM Data” error message
Settings > System > Nokia account – got “Hardware Problem – Couldn’t Complete Operation” error message
Settings > System > Backup Assistant Plus – would not start and returned directly to Settings > System menu
Settings > System > extras+info – would not start and returned directly to Settings > System menu
I took the phone to my local Verizon Wireless store and they told me that it looked like a hardware problem and that I should return it for an exchange where I purchased the phone.  I also called Verizon Tech Support, and the support assistant tried a couple of things before coming to the same conclusion – that the hardware was probably faulty and I should exchange my phone for a new one.
I decided to ensure that my SIM card was seated properly, so I popped off the back cover, removed the battery, then removed my SD Card and SIM Tray, then reinserted everything and put the back cover back on.  When the phone booted up, I noticed that the App Store had 6 updates for the apps that I was having trouble with.  I went into the App Store and downloaded the updates, and now encountered the following problems:
My Verizon Mobile now launched, but I got an error message that the app could not connect to the network.
Voicemail application – still got “SIM Error”
Settings > System > Nokia account – still got “Hardware Problem”
Settings > System > Backup Assistant Plus – application launched but I got an error message
Settings > System > extras+info – now worked, and displayed version information about my phone and OS version
Finally, I went into Settings > System > about and pressed the reset your phone button.  When it booted, I went through the initial setup screens and selected the default language (English USA).  I noticed that English UK was right above the default selection, and I believe the associate who did the setup in the store selected this instead of clicking on the default.  After selecting that I wanted to restore my data from the cloud, and waiting for about 5 minutes for this to complete, I was glad to see that all of the functionality now worked as expected.
So to make a long story short, before assuming you have a bad piece of hardware, try using Settings > System > about – reset your phone – just in case it was set up incorrectly at the store.

        Hi ARowald,
I understand your concerns regarding the SD card issues you have encountered. A review of my resources indicate that this issue has been escalated to our software team and the manufacturer will address these issues in a future software update (No ETA).

This 1500$ balance then shows in wallet on phone.
Nope, it still does not work. I tried your suggestion and I got the following reply:
You currently have Rs 0.00 INR in your Microsoft account with Rs 0.00 INR expiring within 30 days.
I have sent the following email to the Nokia Customer Care centre in India:
I purchased the Lumia 1320 here in India on June 17 and then I downloaded the gift voucher app, which gave me a code to be copied into the wallet. Having done so, I went to the Wallet and it shows:
    Microsoft Account
    Balance: Rs 0.00
The phone was restarted but this balance is still Rs 0.00. What could be the problem? I reported this to the Nokia Customer Care on 23 June and I was assured that the problem would be resolved within five days.
After five days, I called up the Nokia Customer Care once again and I was assured this time that my problem had been escalated and that, I would expect a resolution to my problem within 24 hours.
Till now, (June 30), there has been no response from Nokia Customer Care.
Why is the Rs 1500 gift voucher being denied to me on my mew Lumia 1320? Please resolve my problem immediately.
    Thanks.

  • Nokia Lumia 930 Defects or Firmware Issues

I recently upgraded to a Nokia Lumia 930, I had a 920 for ages and loved it. However, I had to replace my first 930 within two days as there was a hardware issue with one of the back buttons not working (when the phone heated up the back button would start pressing itself and get stuck sometimes).
I've had the new Lumia 930 (the replaced one) for two months now and the following problems have come to my attention:
Double tap to wake goes through phases where it just does not work. I've tried pressing down on the top right corner to see if it rectifies the problem but it does not (not sure how double tap to wake uses the proximity sensor, is this not dependant on the display). I do however have seen that double tap to wake stops working after charging the phone (I'm able to reproduce the behaviour repeatedly)? It will after a few hours of work just magically return to normal?
Proximity sensor goes through stages where it does not work either. I can't for certain say this happens after every charge but maybe it's just a coincidence that this happened after my last charge.
Some notification sounds do not sound at all, it seems to only happen when the display is turned off (or when the device is in standby?). Notifications including sounds such as locking and unlocking the phone aren't always played.
The screen does not turn on sometimes when and if a notification comes through (they do not always sound as in point 3 above).
Hey Cortana performance is terrible, it just doesn't work if the phone is not unlocked.
Gestures Beta has never worked on my Lumia 930, albeit a beta, I never have had any problems with it on my Lumia 920.
Things I consider to be the culprit:
There are so many issues with my device while it is in standby, that it seems to me that it might be a firmware problem? I can't image how being in low power mode would affect the device sensors (unless there is some kind of voltage drop in standby and the device's sensors are unable to function). Unsure why it seems to be fine when the device is unlocked.
I can't explain what charging does to double tap to wake, but the fact that this happens after every charge leads me to believe there is something here.
    Things I have tried:
Pressing right hand corner of screen for double tap to wake. Did not help (also saw somebody going on about the phone bending in another post, my device is in a hard cover and the 930 has Gorilla glass 3, not sure it will bend at all).
Hard reset and reload firmware. Did not help (Currently running Denim).
Anyone experiencing the same problems and any solutions? I came here after being directed by Microsoft Mobile's facebook page. They don't seems to think posting my problems on facebook is a good idea. Honestly, this is my second Lumia 930 and after reading up on all the issues with the double tap to wake have a came to one conclusion: The build quality of this device is terrible.
    Thank you for your time.
    Jaco

    Here's an update.
In frustration I tried pressing harder in the right hand corner, and if course that solves the issues (Lovely design flaw this). Although only temporarily and I still don't know how the charging is capable of affecting this at all.
My suggestion to Microsoft would be to allow in the next firmware update to allow users to disable this sensor. It seems that this sensor (or the light sensor next to it, who knows) is used to determine if the device is allowed to "Unlock" using double tap to wake. If this is the case, the device will simply ignore it when you tap on the screen (at the cost of somehow waking up in your pocket, a small price to pay)?
    Anyhow, anyone's take on this?

  • Nokia Lumia 1320 & Hyundai Tucson HiFi

Can someone please help me with the following problem?
Lumia 1320 pairs with vehicle apparently with no problem. Calls attempted from the phone book in the car's hifi system will not connect.  If a call is initiated directly from the phone then everything works correctly with all sound coming though the hifi unit.  I have been into the Bluetooth settings in the phone using the "advanced" button to use the "connect in a different way to use speech with bluetooth in my car" option, this did enable one call to be placed through the hifi unit, but the unit has reverted to as described above.
My local Hyundai dealership has shed no light on the matter and the reseller of the phone has not been much help either.

The CAR probably uses or is set to use SAP which is not supported by Windows Phone. SAP will basically tie in the phone SIM to the cellular in the car itself. You need to use PBAP for the car to read and use the phone phonebook, then use the car controls to dial using the phone and have it stream the audio back and forth to/from the car.

  • Nokia Lumia 822 has MicroSD card issues

I upgraded to my Lumia in April, and since then, it has ruined 3 MicroSD cards. It either stops recognizing that they are in the phone (after which I've discovered that putting them into my computer and formatting them, they can be recognized), or simply deletes everything.
My latest SD card has lasted about a week so far, but I noticed that after synching my phone (to the Windows program that it uses on your computer) my "Camera Roll" was emptied of most of the pictures. There were two pictures left, but I was unable to "attach and send" them or "attach and share" to any of my messages or apps.
Also, anytime I synch my music through the Windows program on the computer, it adds another copy of the song to the card, or removes songs that I want to keep on the SD card.
The program used to synch isn't very user friendly, especially when trying to navigate pictures (only lists the file names, no options for thumbnails whatsoever), so I might just need help learning how to use that better?
I love my phone, but it has become a large pain, considering this isn't the only issue I've encountered.
Is anyone else having issues like these? And if so, have you found any solutions?
