Nokia Lumia 520 offline maps can not be downloaded...

Hello,
I had downloaded offline maps earlier on my Nokia Lumia 520 and they worked very well. But after resetting my phone to original setings (which deleted all the previously downloaded map), I can no more use them. When I try to download offline maps, it gets stuck on 10% or something like that and then says "We can't reach maps library at the moment. Make sure flight mode is turned off and check your and mobile data or WiFi connection, then try again.".
Tring to resolve this, I had already done following things-
1. Again reset the phone
2. Soft reset the phone
3. Updated the HERE MAPS and HERE DRIVE
4. Tried downloading it from settings > Applications > maps > download maps
5. And lastly I was using WiFi for downloading and my Flight mode was off
I need this feature working on my phone at the earliest.
Please suggest a solution for this asap, NOKIA!!!

Hi, kanishkk. Glad to hear that you're now able to download your map data. Based on the information presented, the issue can be on your connection. If the same issue occurs, try to download using your cellular data to further isolate the issue.

I have a Nokia Lumia 820 with approximately 1GB of memory free.
I am trying to download an offline map (approximately 150 MB) but I am always getting an error stating: "Not Enough Room, you need at least 1,137 MB of free space on your phone to get this map".
I get the same message when I try to delete a previously downloaded map!
Anyone had this issue before? Any help wuld be appreciated.

One year later, this bug is still around: Nokia Lumia 1520 (1028.3562.1402.0001) with HERE Maps 3.5.486.8.
In our German section, there is a guess, this relates to ‘maximum memory use’ (quota) which we all know from our Symbian days until Nokia Maps 3.01. It looks like the quota is fixed at 50%. Or stated differently: If your map data is larger than the remaining free memory, you get this error. or stated correctly: If your remaining free memory gets smaller than your existing map data, you get this error.
Therefore, my solutions are:
to remove a very large country like Russia or China,
(three dots, horizontal ellipsis) Options » Delete all maps, or
to use a memory card and Lumia storage check beta.
The beta version still works on my Lumia Black. Because the now included Storage Check does allow Maps on memory card, you still need that beta. And because you cannot search and find that app from the internal Windows Store, you have to enter the above link into the Internet Explorer within your Lumia – or you download and install the XAP file manually.
Consequently, to download the whole HERE world, one needs a 64 GB memory card.

it would help if you expound a bit, and give a little more background of the problem. given limited info, i suppose you take pics by tapping onscreen? ..in that case, maybe you're just not pressing the button well enough. when you press the camera button (halfpress), it should focus... then press deeper, it will take the pic.
its a long shot, but do you have a silicon case on your fone? i used to have the same problem before.. it was a bit hard to operate and 'feel' the button's accuracy with that protective rubber case on.
on a totally different point of view... are you talking about waking your fone up with the camera button when it's locked?
again, its hard to get a specific answer if one does not actually see / test the unit, let alone a vague question.

Can not turn on Nokia Lumia 520 after Microsoft up...

Hi, I've got Nokia Lumia 520 with Windows Phone 8
before yesterday Microsoft update appeared on display and wanted me to instal. So I clicked on "instal" button and after that there was "restarting..." on the display for a while and phone went off. Since that I can't turn on my phone. I tried keep it on charger for a long time, I tried take off battery for a long time, I tried to hold all buttons combinations, but my phone is still dead. Do you have some advises or there is only one option to send that to Nokia for service?

First try rebooting by ressing and holding the vol down + power button for around 10 seconds. If it works, the phone should vibrate and restart. If this does not work you could try hard resetting, instructions as per link below. Faiuling that, you will need to get it to your local Nokia Care Point.

Well if you got the Phone Pggray43 at a Local Corporate store in your Area) you should be able to return it as long as you have all the contents.! Phone, Charger and any other accessories that came with it the Box of Course.. As long as you have not went past the 14 Day return.. the store can go over what you used as in Air Time and Data..
Now if you've went past the 14 Day return you be Liable to pay a E.T.F = Early Termination Fee the fee for this is around $300 so hopefully you have not went past the 14 Day return window the Manager if Available is the one I would talk to tell them your on Social Security and you just can't afford a phone as this I'm sure they'll work with you to get something solved..

Ray is correct, Windows Phone only play YouTube videos (thru YouTube clients or the mobile website, or thru YouTube videos embedded in webpages themselves).

My brother gave me an Nokia lumia 520, and i have tried off all of the sim cards and some ask for a sim card code or something similar im not sure now.
on others it says that its in gpm or gps mode im not sure what to do i don't know what to do.

Nokia Lumia 520 in Moldova

I want to buy a Nokia Lumia 520 here in the UK to give to someone living in Moldova, next to Romania. Is there any reason the person cannot use it in Moldova, in the same way as she can in the UK, where it was bought? I know that the mobile phone warranty does not cover Moldova, outside of the EU. See every mobile device works on some frequency bands and that need to be present in mobile to work in a particular region , it may support one or more than one band. As per Nokia UK website Lumia 520 supports
WCDMA network: 900 MHz, 2100 MHz (this is 3G frequency)
GSM network: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz (this is 2G frequency)
1. Now UK frequency bands where you live are:
2G capabilities GSM 900, GSM 1800
3G capabilities UMTS 900, UMTS 2100
4G capabilities LTE 800, LTE 1800, LTE 2600
So Lumia 520 in your region support 2G and 3G
2. Now Mandova frequency bands where the mobile device will be operational:
2G capabilities GSM 900
3G capabilities UMTS 2100
4G capabilities LTE 2600
So Lumia 520 of UK should work atleast for 2G at GSM 900 frequency and 3G at UMTS 2100.

hey so i been using whatsapp in my nokia lumia 520., i can recieve videos from friends and even forward the videos to others also.
But what i can't seem to do is send other videos that are there in my memory card/internal memory to other users thru whatsapp. when i try to attach a video file.,all i get is the option to record a video.
how do i attach a video and send it to others thru whatsapp..??

I can give you a correct answer. Forget about sending prerecorded videos using Lumia with Widows OS.
As Window phone does not allow all other App developers to access to its video library.
So it is not possible for sending video using lumia series for sure. I have 920 before and just switched to Samsung Android because of this issue

Nokia Lumia 520 screen cracked

I love my Nokia Lumia 520 but very disappointed with the thin glass on the screen. I fell over on the path and had my phone in my hand therefore when I fell over the phone screen cracked and now the touch will not work but the LCD is fine, the screen still lights up. I'm on waiting for a new screen so I can replace it myself but like I said seriously disappointed! I got this phone in June for my birthday and then one mistake it just cracked.

By the way, are you also having issues with your SMS, MMS, mobile data connection, and voicemail? About not playing any sound, this happens regardless of what task you're doing on the phone which requires sound, right? If you have tried any troubleshooting steps, can you tell us what are they? my new nokia lumia 520 hangs.
its been only 20 days i brought my new lumia 520.
Case : I just completed call. the screen got blacked out. we can still get incoming calls.
we have the option to switch off. when it asks to slide down. it never happens. not able to slide it down.
Solution - i removed battery and replaced. (This is very bad solution but i had no other option)
tried - done power off and also volume down button with power off. it dint work.
So disappointed!!

hi mate, as a precursor to taking your phone to nokia care, you can check that you have the latest firmware updates for your device, and that you are up to date with the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store. also try performing a soft and then a hard reset if that doesn't work.
