Nokia Lumia 635 Car Connection

I have managed without problem to connect my phone to my Vauxhall Astra handsfree without a problem but can not get it to sync the contacts from the phonebook to the car. Worked perfectly with all our old Nokias?

Hi nokia. I'm experiencing the same problem as ,@charmlo except my notification+actions show that they are active, and that Im supposed to be recieving notifications, but I don't receive them. I'll have to open the app before I actually receive any notifications. I made sure my time settings are up date, and my apps are updated. What do I do?

Nokia Lumia 635 & Hutchison 3G Ireland phone carr...

When is Denim update available for Hutchison 3G Ireland phone carrier on my Nokia Lumia 635. I phoned Hutchison 3G Ireland phone carrier but they don't know when it’s available. They told me to contact Nokia so I went to Nokia website and that lead me to Microsoft mobile support site. Thank you.

Denim software for your device cannot become available via Recovery Tool (or other Care tools) either, before the operator has given approval for the update. It looks like this is still variant is simply still missing the approvals for the Denim update.

Nokia Lumia 635 and Denim?

I have the GoPhone Nokia Lumia 635. I have never gotten the last 2 updates. How can I get the latest to Denim?

At this time, we do not have information regarding a release for Denim on the Nokia Lumia 635 for GoPhone models. One of the requirements to install this update is that all previous updates have been installed. Do any updates show as available when checking manually?
From the Start screen, scroll to and tap Settings.
Scroll to and tap Phone update.
Tap Check for update.
The device will determine if new software is available, and begin downloading the software update.
When complete, a completion message will be displayed.

i bought a brand new nokia lumia 610,but its connection to internet is by chance despite 3G net work availability.the Nokia C5 003 i owned connects in a split of a second to internet with google.i thought i would enjoy browsing with this new gadget .please help me benefit from my favourite brand `NOKIA`. may be by changing this slow and non connecting `bing search engine`here in my 610.

In my opinion it is always worth trying a new sim to see if that helps, especially if you have been using the same sim for a few years.

Nokia Lumia 920 - Not connecting on MAC OSX 10.6.8

Hello everybody,
I have this problem that alot of people are encounting but it seems having no solutions yet.
I bought my Nokia Lumia 920 a couple days ago, made all the updates alvaible but still I can't connect my phone to my MacBook Pro.
The funny part is that my dropbox application on my mac detect my phone and tries to import my pictures where neither iTunes or Finder are able to recognize my Nokia.
The all support we got is to download a app which is not working for the OSX 10.6.8 and they seem to force us to upgrade to the 10.7 OSX.
It is my right, as a consummer, to choose to OS I want for my laptop and it is to both Windows and Nokia to make their devices compatible to their customers computers.
So here is my call to all Nokia and Windows developpers: Do not ignore us, there is a problem and the first step in order to solve it is to recognize this problem.
The least you can do is to tell us that you are currently working on it because I feel all alone in the dark but I am pretty sure I am not alone and you might loose some clients that are delighted with your phone but really "**bleep**" off the way that they are treated in the process of solving this important problem.

I have to raise a different view point. Many users of macs are ordinary, non-techie people, who simply want a machine to do basic things. I know people with very old macs, and they are happily using them for simple purposes. I have 10.6.8, and any upgrade would cost me some money to upgrade parallels. Macs can run for years, and I believe that it is important for equipment to be able to be used for long periods of time, if the user wishes. Also, earlier OS are very commonly unsed in coutries where money and internet is not as available as to many of us.
I also use a mac with XP as I need a small install base for only one PC based software that I occasionally use.
As a developer, I would expect them to look at the actual installed back of OS, and realise that some simple functionality should be backward to existing users. The ability for a phone to connect to earlier OS is something which I did not even think about - I thought it would be automatic. Its also not that difficult to develop.
The forums are awash with frustrated new pruchasers of Lumia phones, suddenly realising that their expected functionality with PC Suite, etc has now gone. Many of those people are very frustrated, and they will pass on their frustrations to others, and sales will be affected.
I have been a Nokia user now for about six years, and I have watched the same frustrations of users, requesting Nolia to develop expected connection, integration, and sync software that other phone manufacturers seem to be able to do. Finally, a reasonable PC Suite version is now developed, but not compatible with Lumia?? Do we have to go through the whole waiting thing again? Why cannot Nokia look at this not as a software problem, but an expected functionality feature.

Nokia Lumia 630 phone connection with USB cable an...

Kindly be advised that I have been able to easily connect my Nokia E6 in the past to my Lenovo Thinkpad T530 running Windows 7 (64 bit) via Nokia Suite and Windows Explorer by both Bluetooth and the USB cable and was able to see the D and E drives (e.g. mass storage and phone memory) of such Nokia phones.
Since I connected my new Nokia Lumia 630 to the same notebook computer, the bluetooth phone appear under Bluetooth devices and music and sound can be relayed between the computer and the phone, however, no files structures are being displayed under such phone connection in Windows Explorer during a Bluetooth connection. During a USB Cable connection at least the documents and photos folders appear in Windows Explorer but nothing else on the D or E drives are displayed.
Even the Zune (the Nokia PC Suite replacement) does not want to even connect with the phone device from the notebook!
Kindly advise why I am unable to access the Nokia Lumia 630's full mass store and phone memory via BlueTooth or USB Cable from my Lenovo Thinkpad T530 running Windows 7 (64 bit) ?

Zune was targeted towards Windows Phone 7. It got replaced by the Windows Phone app for desktop – which does not give any more feature than you have already.

Windows Phone 8.1 does not support the Bluetooth profile OBEX File Transfer (FTP) as Symbian did, yet. Because this is a feature request, there you go …

I have just purchased this Lumia 635 and I have some ringtons sent to me from a friend by bluetooth and my phone excepted them but I do not know where they are stored. Hello, sebika. Welcome to our community. The Lumia 635 doesn't support Ambient Light Sensor, but it supports Proximity sensor. A touch-based and not an optic sensor. Let us know if this helps.

Nokia Lumia 521 - WiFi connected, but no internet ...

I have a brand new Lumia 521 on T-Mobile. I set up the wifi connection and it shows connected. However, there is no internet connection. Cannot download any app or anything.
Trouble Shooting: Rebooted the phone couple of times. Turned on/off wifi. delete/re-connect wifi.
Reboot wireless router couple of times.
Turned off the data service on my phone and only wifi is on now. Checked my router that there is an entery for my Windows Phone, but could not get any logs.
Nothing helped so far...
Loaded my sim with funds, thinking if something no fund is blocking it somewhere :-D
Everything is fine on my other smartphones.
Did I receive a faulty device?

At least you have 8.1. Those of us with 521 not updated yet, no real answers. Someone at Nokia going to close thread cuz no one posting. What to post, you should've been a politician with the no answer answer. Whole experience makes me rethink Microsoft and Nokia altogether. Both companies I used to believe in and support. Even word and excel don't sync well from phone to desktop. Backup for what? Only if you reset phone. That is backup even DOS using command lines would have been ashamed of (honestly so long ago don't remember if it had backup but I know my 386SX did) Pictures duplicate, triplicate and repopulate after deleted and I have backup to cloud turned off. seems Microsoft thinks differently than I about this issue? It continues to bring back a pic of EX that i hate...Great reminder!!!!. Phone storage eaten and not accessible to delete. Not allowed to delete certain apps that came with phone. Now I delete apps I prefer and no space becomes available? Do not use Nokia cinemagraph. Can't be viewed anywhere but on phone without converting. And what phone/camera has no flash? My parents old 110 (I think) at least had a cube. Poloroid built in...just saying that was the early 80s. Now lock screen and theme (ugly muted colors, btw) not working, can't get space back even when hooked to desktop, use cloud 6 now to keep phone and cloud from changing between app and desktop, have to convert all Nokia files, and most apps not available from what I can gather because Microsoft limits us. Nokia and Microsoft, get your acts together before marketing with one another. And, have answers to these questions. If you can't do it right, don't do it all. Maybe best to walk away from one another. Although, other than poor apps and flimsy phone, I am more disappointed in a guru conglomerate that doesn't care about the user. You keep trying to catch up with Mac and Droid...not at this rate. Excel fave program to use and love outlook. But this is crap on a stick, SOS and plain junk. And, the mighty do fall. I remember original Apple having market, commodore 64 and Tandy? Two of the three no longer exist. IBM was a typewriter back then, as far as I was aware. For Nokia, Here doesn't usually get me to correct place with full addy and zip entered) Not a good platform or flimsy phone. Can't wait to go back to Droid....so, I suggest every time I can't find an answer from one of your sites, you stop asking what I think. Here it is. Sorry for sending you a private message but i dont know who else to recur to.
I've a Lumia 920 that is not on warranty any more. (Bought on internet).
I'm from Portugal and the phone came directly from Switzerland.
I cannot connect to my PC. I've tried everything from usb cable, diferrent PC's, different Windows Softwares, even Android Tablet and nothing.
Then I went to my town Nokia Care Store and they tried it did not work also with them. They ended saying to me that they could not solve my problem.
Then I tried with a friend that have an Lumia 920 connecting my L920 to his computer and one more time it did not work.
Finally I talk to private mobile technician that had a new usb internal cable and changed it for me. Also did not work.
I really dont know if the problem is L920 motherboard or any software problem that just dont let me connect to the PC.
I always get the message "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED".
My only issue is this one because all the rest works perfectly. Even USB charging.
Please help.

A Nokia phone which was intended for sale in any country of the European Union plus Iceland, Norway, Switzerland or Turkey would be covered for two years by the European Limited Warranty which is valid in all of those countries. When you visited Nokia Care, did they check your IMEI against our systems to verify the warranty status of your phone?

How do I use my Nokia Lumia 635 with Target's Brig...

I purchased my 635 on eBay and the seller said it was an unlocked phone. When I put the Brightspot SIM card into the phone, it asks me which "Cellular Connection Profile" I want to use for the SIM card, and the only two options are T-Mobile or MetroPCS. I spoke to Brightspot customer service twice. One person told me to select MetroPCS. The other told me to select T-Mobile. I'm still waiting for my service activation to be completed, so I can't actually test whether either one will work, but I need a definitive answer ASAP since I have a number transfer in process and will lose my Verizon service shortly. And clearly Brightspot techs have no clue.
I was told that if the phone were locked, it would prompt me for an unlock code. This is not the case. The only thing it prompts me for is which Cellular Connection Profile to use. Does anybody know which profile I select for use with Brightspot? Or if I need to change a setting elsewhere? Or have I been misinformed and this phone is actually, in fact, locked? Please advise, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

It sounds like the phone is simply asking which internet access point it should use for its data connection. Brightspot is not a network provider itself, looking at its web site it is just reselling airtime on the T-Mobile network.
It might be the case that you can just use the T-Mobile access point. However, if Brightspot is quite a new operator, the database used to select the access point might not have Brightspot details in which case the access point would need to be configured manually (access point info would be provided by Brightspot). Exactly the same thing happend some time ago with the French service provider Free.
