Nokia Lumia 638 Denim Update

I purchased Nokia Lumia 638 a couple of weeks back from Amazon India. The phone came preinstalled with Lumia cyan update. Therefore I checked the availability of Lumia denim update for my device. When I checked Microsoft's website it was mentioned that firmware not yet available for this device(Screenshot attached). This same phone has been updated with Lumia denim in China(Screenshot attached). Therefore I decided to use Software Recovery Tool. When I connected my phone it is showing that "You have the latest available software version"(Screenshot attached). Just before posting this I checked phone updates and it showed that "Your Phone is up to date".What should I do now to update my device to Lumia denim?

Hi, vasudev99. We suggest waiting as software updates are being released in a gradual manner. Your phone will notify you once an update is available. It is also worth checking our website frequently to get the latest info about the availability of the Lumia Denim update. BTW, welcome to our community.

On microsoft.com it mentions this phone as India's affordable 4G phone (please see attached image). So its hard to believe that its not officially launched in india.

Nokia Lumia Icon denim update

I updated my phone as I was supposed to, and some features work. However I'm not able to open any apps, including Verizon which enables me to call. My photos don't open, in fact the only apps I can open are internet explorer, settings, and messages. Clicking on any other app just brings me back to the home screen. My error code was 80188257 which isn't displayed on the Microsoft help page. I restarted my phone, and the error code went away, and no updates are available. Nothing changed, I still can't open anything. What can I do to fix my phone???

Sounds like something went wrong during the update.
make sure the backup option in settings is enabled
Check people.live.com for your contacts
Check calendar.live.com for any calendar entries
move all media off of the phone
When you have backed up everything do a phone reset Settings > about > reset my phone
If this does not work, use Lumia Recovery Tool to reflash the phone.

Verizon Lumia Icon Denim update teased for possible February release

Verizon Lumia Icon owners are a passionate crowd and seemingly asking on a daily basis when the promised Lumia Denim update for their phones will be delivered. In late 2014 it was promised for "early 2015" but now we're into 2015 folks are getting itchy update fingers once again. Microsoft's Joe Belfiore is the target of a number of questions on the subject, and he's got a couple of things to say about it today.
"Lumia icon people asking what I meant by "early 2015": The first part of the year. In my mind that means jan/feb or so. Less likely March."
"Know that Vzw & MS are actively, daily working on getting it done. The test process has unpredictability so we can't say a firm end date"
Since January is done with that would suggest Microsoft and Verizon are aiming to push it out in February. But as with the second statement, it could easily slip due to circumstances beyond Microsoft's control. But it hasn't been forgotten about, at least.

I doubt it. JB's tweets were very, very vague and the very fact that he had to mention March means it's a lot more likely than not to be pushed past February.
I take this as a very bad sign for this phone. We've been hearing soon since September.

Help! Nokia Lumia 822 Amber Update Question

I just changed over to a Windows phone from Android. I purchased a Nokia Lumia 822 and installed the Amber Update yesterday.
However, I don't have any of the features from the update available on my phone. My OS version is 8.0.10327.77 and my Firmware revision number is 3045.0000.1328.1031.
Since my phone was "new" to me, I even tried resetting it to no avail.
Everytime I go to Settings>Phone Update, it says there are no updates.
Is there a way to reinstall the Amber Update?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Nokia Lumia 820 Amber Update

My 820 was updated but I had to do a factory reset how can I get the update back? The update does not appear in Phone Updates.

I found the answer myself, all we have to do here is download the App Lumia System Updater that fixed all my problems once I updated my Apps. Been looking for answer for Hours. Now things like Touch Double Tap Wake Up are working and Block Numbers and SMS on the Nokia Lumia 820 I would say it would work on all LUMIAs...

Another request for Lumia 830 Denim update information

I have the AT&T variant of the Lumia 830 and am waiting for a firmware update to fix two issues. However, there has been no communication as to when this firmware update will be released. I have only a short window to return this device and if I do not know when the firmware will be released, I would prefer to return it now and buy something else rather than waiting for several months. Let me be clear. I'm looking for specific availability dates and not a vague assurance that it's coming "soon" and that I should keep checking to see if it's out. If this information is not available now to Customer Support, please make the effort to reach out to the responsible team that does have this information. Even a date range specified in terms of days, months, or weeks would be helpful, along with any details that can help us understand why there is a delay. Of course, even better than knowing the release date would be having the firmware update pushed to my phone today. So that you can understand why I am eager to get this update, I've provided additional information below. Thanks for replying. While I was half-hoping that my lengthy plea might have been the straw that broke the camel's back, I can't say I honestly expected AT&T to change their policy and suddenly start delivering more timely releases of firmware updates with greater transparency about the process. As for me, I only had a small window of time to return the handset to AT&T. Having heard nothing, I figured that the safest course of action was to buy a carrier-unlocked RM-985 from a reputable retailer. After it shows up tomorrow, I'll still have time to return the AT&T variant. With Windows Phone 10 arriving shortly, this should ensure that I get that upgrade at least a month or two before users with the AT&T branded device. I'll also be able to lower the monthly bill, so that's a big side benefit. It's unfortunate that this is how AT&T operates. I imagine that they get more than a few returns of the device from people who couldn't get Netflix working and this has to be costing them some money. It certainly makes Windows Phone/Microsoft look bad as well, although they did ship the device with buggy firmware in the first place, even if they did provide a fix. Supposedly with Windows 10, Microsoft will no longer be allowing carriers to block phone updates, so the situation should improve. M

Nokia Lumia 822 latest update

My phone has a lot of the latest update features, but its also missing a lot of it too... Such as the notification drop down menu and Cortana.... My phone says it's completely up to date, but if so why do I not have certain features of the latest update to the Nokia Lumia Black?

According to the Lumia 822 support page, the most recent software release for Nokia Lumia 822 is Lumia Black. The features you have mentioned like the action center and cortana are both integrated to a much newer update called Lumia Cyan. Availability of this update may vary per region or network provider.

Nokia lumia 521 equalizer update

So yesterday got real excited when i got this notification from the windows store.
Downloaded the updaate and i stilo cant get it to work.
I got to my settings and hit music
it loads for a couple seconds, and for a fraction of a scond i can see the equalizer then it dissapears. and just shows me flip to silence
anyone ealse having this issue? i also got the lumia black update this morning but the eq still didnt work
am i doing something wrong or does this just suck?

I got the denim update on my Lumia 630 (dual sim). I heard a lot about it, specially about camera improvements. But I don't see any change in the camera app. It's still 4.9.3.0 and work like always. Soooo.... Can anyone help me ?

Nokia Lumia 525 Software Update. Wifi problem.

Hello Nokia users. I recently bought a Nokia Lumia 525. Heard that Software Update would come by September. So i learned how to update my phone by seeing Nokia videos and articles. I got to know that we need a WiFi connection to perform a Software Update.
the problem is i don't have a WiFi connection in my place. Can i download the update using Mobile Network ? I saw this " YOUR PHONE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD UPDATES IF YOUR DATA SETTINGS ALLOW IT" what does that mean ? How can i make my data settings allow it to download my update ? Can i pause and resume my download ?
i heard that we can Update our phone at your nearest Nokia Care center... If yes how much it will cost ?

Nokia Lumia 800 - Software Update

I have tried loading the Windows Phone software update on mu Nokia Lumia 800 and every single time I have done this through Zune software my phone runs through the majority of tasks it has to do and then locks up at task 9 out of 10 as it re-starts my phone. I had left this going over night but still it hangs on 9 out of 10 tasks completed.
Has anyone else had this problem and did you overcome it?
My current firmware version is 1750.0805.8773.12220
My current OS version is 7.10.8773.98
The latest versions are:-
Firmware 1750.0823.885x.124x0
OS Version 7.10.8862.144
Very frustrated as I have to start my phone again and restore it back to previous version.

The release for updates is phased. Your 720 will be offered the update when it gets to its turn. Incidentally none of my WP8 devices have been offered the update yet.

Nokia lumia 820 australian update

is there any timeframe on your Australian Nokia 820 WP8 FW update i am having constant rebooting issues have Factory reset and it didnt help im wondering how i go about getting this fixed as i have only had the phone for 2 months and am already wanting to change from nokia to another phone PS if there is any external battery cases coming out is there an ETA on them

At the moment all Nokia has said is that the update should be available in February, they haven't been more specific than that. It is annoying that the US got this update last year when it fixes issues that effect everyone worldwide. I suggest you contact Nokia Australia are raise a complaint with them, they'll also be able to tell you about availability for official accessories.
