Nokia Lumia 800 - Camera non flash = very pink - ....

As subject.
Nokia, please address this issue, could be a white balance issues, but I am semi-colour blind to red and even I can see this ruins the pictures.
Please, I am losing patience with this phone, I could almost deal with the battery issues, but with this as well, it just takes the Michael.

Highly noisy images. (Please use some better noise reduction algorithm)
Are you taking images in low lighting conditions? If yes, it is normal due to the sensor size. In any event, try utilizing flash or reduce the ISO settings. I've never experienced noisy pictures in outdoors.
Overexposed/Burned-out Images. (Tried reducing exposure and contrast, but still getting burned out images!)
I guess this is partly due to the fact that you are focusing on the wrong areas, try manual focusing by tapping on the screen. Play around with "metering mode" might help.
Very Blurry images (Getting blurry images even after staying still as much as possible. Feels like there's no image stabilizer inside. Most other camera phones can take good stills even while moving in a car)
By "blur", do you mean like "motion blur" or "out of focus" blur? Motion blur WILL occur if the shutter speed is low and that is definitely so if lighting conditions are low. Try wiping your lens once in a while, sometimes smudges from your fingerprints might caused them.
Macro not focusing correctly. Cannot get to focus close up objects. This is very annoying! The focus quickly turns back to normal mode when the shutter is released.
I agree this, the macro focusing mode is indeed a bit "off" and without the proper indication to show that it's on focus (eg. my n78 has the box turned to green to indicate focus) it's a bit hassle. However, once you get used to it, you'll be fine. You just have to find the sweet spot ie the minimum distance in which the lens must be from the object for macro to be shot. The Lumia 800 8MP camera does not have a 0 minimum distance.
Hope the above helps.

  • Nokia lumia 800 camera silver strip scratches

This is a scratch magnet which looks terrible when scratched and it's a finger print magnet , is there any way of getting them out ?????

I used to use brasso on the chrome backs of ipods but not sure it will work on the strip. I know it sounds a bit odd but it was a tip on the internet and it worked a treat. i've cut down a screen protector and fitted it over mine as it was mentioned before on how easy it scratches.

  • Nokia Lumia 800 won't charge, stuck on loading scr...

My Nokia Lumia 800 ran out  of battery while I was at work (not the first time) I take it home and plug it in, after 20 mins of the red battery screen it vibrates and springs to life, but it never got past the white 'Three' welcome screen (one of three screens that flash up when the phone is first turned on, others are Nokia screen and Windows screen).
It's been charging for over 10 hours and it's still stuck on that white screen. The phone feels cold (not stone cold, but not warm either) so clearly it's not charging. I've tried a different charger, different plug, and plugging it in to the computer. When I unplug it, it dies after 20-30 mins and I go through the whole process again the next time I charge it.
When I plugged it into the computer it behaved very strangely. It rapidly connected/diconncted itself, not giving Windows time to recognoise the device was plugged in and install the driver software. Before evneutally diconnecting itself and going back to that white screen.
What's wrong with it? It's not the first time it's totally ran out of battery (although I don't let it happen very often).
The phone is only 4 months old!
    What do I do?
Nokia Care on Twitter was useless, asked me to do soft resets (already tried, many times, the phone turns off briefly, vibrates, then back to that white screen).
If I have to send it in for repiars how do I do that? I live in South West England, my nearest Nokia Care store is in central London, several hours away.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
The white screen it's stuck on looks just like this: http://www.techwatch.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Three-Logo-235x276.jpg

You should contact the nokia care point and they will organise the device to be collected.

  • Nokia lumia 800 video problems.

Hello, my friend in work has a nokia lumia 800 which a couple of days ago just stopped playing all kinds of videos, be it videos he has taken or on youtube or any thing!
Also xbox live doesnt open either.
Neither of us are very 'techy' so any suggestions in simple terms would be very much appreciated!

I seem to have a similar problem. After the most recent software update I can no longer play back videos that I have taken with the phone! I can play you tube videos ok, but not ones I take with the camera. Any suggestions why? I can't find any settings which I could have changed? The files play fine on the computer.
    Thanks
What happens upon trying to play the videos? Is there any error message or is it just showing a blank screen?
You can try to copy the videos to your computer, delete the videos on your phone and then transfer them back to the phone from your computer.
If this would fail, you may consider resetting the phone by going to Settings and then About. As this will delete all the contents of the phone, ensure to sync your files or to create a backup copy. • Nokia Lumia 800 - Micro Stuttering / Lag in OS and...

    Hi everyone,
I just thought i'd bring an issue up that i've been experiencing recently.
I have a Nokia Lumia 800 (locked to Telstra - Australia)
I'm experiencing very minor, completely random slow downs or lag sometimes when just flicking through the phone OS and also at times when watching video (either recorded on the phones own camera or Youtube etc).
The most repeatable way for me to demonstrate the problem is watching a video i have recorded using the phones inbuilt camera, when playing the video back (on the phone) the video randomly lags, usually for about the first 60 seconds and then plays smoothly. It is definately not a reception or buffering issue, as in most streaming cases, the phone is well buffered.
I have also experienced slowdowns when typing an SMS, where the key presses are very slow to show up on the screen and also when launching even OS built in apps like the People Hub or Contacts.
I'm running the latest firmware 12070 (in Australia) and have tried hard resetting my phone, disabling all background agents etc with no luck.
I previously had a 1st gen HTC Mozart which experienced no slowdowns and played back all manner of video with no lag whatsoever.
There has been some discussions on XDA here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26164497&posted=1#post26164497
Has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms?

I too have this sms lag on my lumia 800. i had this issue on both formwares : 12070 and 12072. I really fed up the no of bugs in this phone.
please guys post the following bug as well. following bug is present in 5 of my frnd's lumia 800 as well. XDA please make sure this new issue reaches NOKIA. So that they can do something about.
Even i have got this latest 12072 update but still dr is one more bug guess u have not noticed it. Can u please check and clarify with the following bug description.
1." Connect you nokia handsfree or any headphones to your lumia 800 and make a call and notice that u cannot adjust the volume. Volume remains high (max) always even if you reduce the volume to zero."
2."Connect your hands free or any head set to your lumia 800 play music and reduce the volume to 15 or less now make a call again you cannot adjust the volume of the call. now cut the call and now your music starts playing in max volume which you will not be able to reduce. Until you remove your hands free or headset and reinsert it.

  • Nokia Lumia 800, Depleted battery Won't start up.

Hi,  After being away for home for 5 days with no charger for my Nokia lumia 800, I foolishly allowed it to run out of battery, Unaware of the problems this can cause due faulty hardware, thanks to Nokia I returned home and plugged the phone into charge. I have allowed my Phone to run out of battery many times before in the past as you wouldn't expect any problem to come of it. After many hours of the phone being on charge I went to turn it on, it vibrated and came up with the phone providers image then no further, it stayed on this image for hours until I held down the power button and  it would turn itself off. Not being to worried at this point I went online to the many chatrooms, helpline, youtube videos you name it to source a solution. Having tried absolutely everything, about 10 times nothing has worked to multiple button combinations, heating the phone up, plugging into PC with zune - everything. Now slightly worried as I really do want this phone to work and not have to buy a new one at a great cost.  This is not a problem I have cause, it's a problem with Nokia, and the manufacturing of the phone, So if no one on  here will be able to aid me in fixing the phone, once I return to the UK I shall take it into a Nokia store to get it looked at, which i won't be happy to do as many of the Nokia outlets are in unconventional locations such as Glasgow.
Thank in advance for any Help which is much appreciated,
    Lambtj

  • My new Nokia Lumia 800 changes date and time after...

When i switch off and on my Nokia Lumia 800, date and time changes: from 2 september 2012 8.00 to 2 march 2013 14.00. I need help to understand this strange problem and find a solution.

    chrysale wrote:
I had the same problem with my Lumia 800. The Lumia 800 kept changing time and date as soon as I switched it off and turned it back on. In my case, doing a HARD RESET helped to fix this. BEWARE! You will lose all your data!
Switch off your phone, hold Volume Down, Power, Camera buttons down. Switch phone on. As soon as it vibrates, release Power button, keep Volume Down and Camera button pressed for a few seconds.
I have the same problem and after going through all the various support sites- Nokia, O2, and endless forums I was told the same thing "Make sure your auto-update for date and time is switched to automatic" But after telling them I don't know how many times that my Lumia 800 didn't have this option, only a 24 hours switch I was told there was nothing that could be done. However I appear to have sorted it out myself. The problem appears to be (or on my phone at least) is wi-fi connection, before I turn my phone off I have to disconnect from wi-fi and when I turn the phone back on the date and time stays corrected.
When I set the date and time manually (for the 3000th time!!) I held in the power button until the slide down close screen disappeared then released it and the phone restarts, then I done it again- same proceedure just to be sure and ever since the date and time has stayed correct. BUT BE SURE TO TURN OFF WI-FI BEFORE SWITCHING PHONE OFF. Hope this helps

  • Nokia Lumia 800 screen is loose

    Hello everybody, I'm back again!
But however with a new issue..
    I've had my Nokia Lumia 800 since 1year 4 months~
I've dropped it a few dozen times during this time.
So last time I dropped it, the screen got loose.
So I wonder, is it safe to just use some very strong glue in the corners and press it in again?
The glue will be put on the backside of the panel
I hope you understand what the problem is

Oh, btw. The smartphone works good all in all.
The touchabilities isn't damaged or anything.
everything works as before only that the screenpanel needs to be in socket again

  • Nokia Lumia 800 - Software Update

I have tried loading the Windows Phone software update on mu Nokia Lumia 800 and every single time I have done this through Zune software my phone runs through the majority of tasks it has to do and then locks up at task 9 out of 10 as it re-starts my phone. I had left this going over night but still it hangs on 9 out of 10 tasks completed.
Has anyone else had this problem and did you overcome it?
My current firmware version is 1750.0805.8773.12220
My current OS version is 7.10.8773.98
    The latest versions are:-
    Firmware 1750.0823.885x.124x0
    OS Version 7.10.8862.144
Very frustrated as I have to start my phone again and restore it back to previous version.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.
This could be that the server could be down or busy. You can also try disabling any firewalls and anti virus software and try again. Also have a look at the following links:

  • Nokia Lumia 800 + Xbox 360 BT headset = Best Combi...

I just tested out my Xbox 360 BT headset w/ my Nokia Lumia 800 and it works much better than my Plantronics BT headset. Speaker is louder, connection is a breeze, I know I would always have to pair my phone every time w/ the Plantronics BT, w/ the Xbox 360 BT it connects everytime. Another thing I was surprised at was it supports ADP2, so you can listen to your music or watch netflix and hear the audio through your Xbox 360 BT headset. If you're looking for a headset try the Xbox 360 BT headset.

After all I managed to connect it to the sony bluetooth headset via the nfc function! But manually it wouldn't find either of the two headsets and yes I did the steps you said
The devices you are trying to connect to the phone have to be in the bluetooth pairing mode before the phone will see them in bluetooth.
Read up on how to put the headsets in pairing mode.  Should be in the literature that came with them.

  • Nokia Lumia 800 won't update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Yes, I know there are already several topics on this but I'm pretty desperate now.
I receive a Nokia Lumia 800 in December for christmas (I know it's not the latest but my family doens't have all that much money). Since christmas day I have been trying to obtain the update for the Lumia. The one that fixes battery and stuff. I've tried search for updates and I've tried searching using Zune. I've had NO success at all. I've tolerated the many flaws in my Lumia such as the lack of a screenshot ability and the bluetooth issue. Those are but two of many. I really want to like this phone and so far, I've only managed to become annoyed by it. I refuse to switch to iOS and I don't have the money for a decent android so I ask, does anyone know of any way I can get updates for my Lumia 800?

Pretty sure it's running the latest updates.
A lumia 720 would probably have been (much) cheaper, is faster overall, runs the latest Windows Phone OS (WP8.0 GDR3 with Nokia Black FW) and will be receiving at least the next major OS update.

  • Data Recovery on Nokia Lumia 800

I recently went on an incredibly moving trip to Poland and took many photos and videos. My Nokia Lumia 800 ran out of battery, so I charged it overnight. When I woke up to switch it on, the memory formatted, which meant I lost so many important photos and videos. I only pressed the on button so I am at a loss as to why this happened. I have arrived home and have researched the ways I could possibly recover these life-changing photos with recovery software (since I did not have access to the internet at the time, it did not sync with SkyDrive). Is there possibly a way I could reclaim these overwritten files? I have done the 'regedit' process, so my PC can recognise it as a device independent of Zune, though it only comes up as a 'Portable Device' in Computer, meaning the recovery software doesnt detect it as a memory store from which it can recover data (ie. Removable Storage Device) . Any thoughts as to how to fix that?
Thank you for reading, and I hope to hear a reply as soon as possible.

Unless you have made a backup of the photos or synced them to skydrive I am afraid there is no way to recover them.
