Nokia Lumia 800 support missing from Nokia India w...

Can anybody please let me know, why is Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 models missing from Nokia India website.
Even the support pages for these mobiles are not available. Has the support for these models terminated ?
Also, i dont find options for Email communication / Online chat / Telephonic Communication available in Nokia India support pages.
Can someone explain the reasons in case you know any ?

It may just be an oversight as still available elsewhere:-

    Hi,
does the Lumia 800 use Network Controlled Fast Dormancy?
My Provider doesn´t support it and the battery of my Android Phone goes down really fast - because "Fast Dormancy" only extends battery-lIfe if phone AND provider support it.
Otherwise it will cause exaclty the opposite - like in my case...

The Big M.. does that mean the answer is 'No'?

  • Lumia 800 - Emails sent from ISP email account on ...

I have set up my personal TalkTalk.net email account on my Lumia 800 and can receive emails fine, however it has become apparent in recent days that all the emails I have sent from the phone have never arrived at the recipients. I have received guidance and support from TalkTalk in terms of the mailbox settings but even though I have checked and double checked the outgoing mail settings the problem still persists.
It doesn't matter if I type a new email from scratch or reply to a mail in my inbox, none of the emails sent are received at the other end. The emails are showing up as Sent Items (they are not stuck in drafts or outbox), and I don't get any bounce backs, but none of them ever make it through to the recipient. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and is there a solution?
I have followed the guidelines / settings in the following link to the letter, but no joy

Can anyone help please? Thank you.

That didn't work...however I have now resolved the problem...I cleared cookies and browsing history on the phone, deleted the mail account on the phone and set it up from scratch..and now it works, both sending and receiving now working!

  • Lumia 800 supports ad hoc?

I got a USB wifi adapter.
And I keep trying to connect my phone to it but it doesn't find it at all even when adding it manual still fails.
So Lumia 800 doesn't support ad hoc?
Will there be a update that supports it?
    Please say yes -.-

Oh I just looked up what you're trying to do. It doesn't and I'm not sure if this functionality is even on the horizon just yet. I would imagine this is a feature that you're most likely to see appearing in WP8 Apollo. 3rd quarter this year I believe.

  • The dialer in lumia 800 is missing key critical fe...

I have had my Lumia800 for about 5 months now, and I am not happy.
Previously I have owned both Iphones and android phones, and WP7.5 - or Lumia800 - is way way behind these phones on even very simple features.
I could mention a whole list of key features that I am missing, but I will restrain myself to the dialer and some privacy issues, since they are for sure driving me back to the competitors on my next phone purchase.
    Dialer:
The dialer in Lumia800 is featurewise at the level of a 1995 phone.
A simple feature such as presenting the last digits of a previously dialed number - when the phone is trying to guess what you are dialing - or being able to seek a number in your list from the alphabetic keys, is something i have buy an app to get. This should - as a minimum - have been included as standard at launch date!!!
I was even expecting some  new and innovtive features as well!
Also. When somebody allready in my list has called me, I only see the name in the "recent calls" list. If the name has 3 phone numbers attached to it - like Home, Work and Cell - it is not possible to see which of these numbers that person called me from. So when I try to return the call, I sometimes end up having to dial all 3 of them before I get hold of them.
Now, that is just plain stupid.
Also, it takes way way to many interactions with the phone to even get to the phone app - which simply MUST be the killer app on a mobile phone.
    Privacy!
To my very big suprice and anger, all my phone numbers were automatically put on the internet, without my knowledge - when i transferred them from my Android HTC. I only accidently found out.
Now, I dont care wether it is supposed to be an accoount that only I can access, since we all know how good the hackers are. I simply have absolutely NO interest in having my contacts, photos, sms's or ANY other stuff from my phone ANYWHERE on the internet.
That I cannot put a contact into my phone without having it synchronised to the internet is nothing less but a scandal. You consider it a feature. I consider it a serious breach of and attack on my privacy!
On even the newest Iphones I can synchronise directly between my PC and my outlook or any other contact management system with an Iphone interface made for it - without being connected to the internet at all.
Why in heavens name can I not do that on a NOKIA Windows phone????
    NOKIA, make it happen!
    Thank you!

    Hi cestla,
    Thanks for posting and Welcome.
You raise a number of questions on making calls with the Lumia. The first I can see how that might be desirable for some, I suggest your visit this site to make your request known.
The second point is actually implemented. When you look at the call history you will see the callers name (or number if the name is not known) and on the line below that the call status, call data and the number used. If you select the entry to re-dial it will use the same number used for the original call.
The number of actions needed to setup a call depend on which way you choose to do this.
Call tile on startpage > Keypad Icon > Enter number
People tile on startpage > Select person to call > Select number to call
Press and hold START > Press speak > say 'CALL Pete Mobile'  (speech functionality depends on localized availability)
As to your comments on contact information there are options available for keeping these offline. For instance you can use a Google account to copy the contacts to your  phone, then set the account to not sync contacts (and/or calendar) with Google and remove them from the online account. You can also choose to use a (private) Exchange server.
Also I assume you are aware that most if not all other smartphones like iOS, Android and Symbian devices will synchronize your contacts and/or calendar information to their cloudservice just like Windows Phone does with Windows Live.
While I can understand ones reservations to some extend it is a much more convenient way of synchronizing as it will not require you to have access to your PC and keep your contacts and calendars in sync 24/7 without required interaction in a secure enviroment.
    Hope this helps,
    Kosh

  • Fieldpoint and Labview 64 bit - why is the LabVIEW Support missing from MAX and the Measurement I/O Pallette?

I am running Labview 2010 on a Windows 7 virtual Machine, I have installed Fieldpoint 6.0.7 with all the appropriate support. The VIs are in vi.lib. BUT, MAX doesn't show the LabVIEW support as existing, and the Measurement I/O pallette doesn't have the Fieldpoint VIs linked into it.
Anyone out there with any idea what I might need to do to get these seen? I've uninstalled, re-installed, installed only sections, and so far - no sign of these VIs appearing.
    So, any ideas?

Not quite. I can see Fieldpoint, but not the LabVIEW support section.
The first screenshot is from my 32-bit system, the second is the one from the 64-bit system.

In my Blackberry Desktop Software, in Applications, there used to be an area for -Core Applications and -Language and Input Support. They are both missing now This is on both version 6 and Version 5. Can anyone please help me out Thanks

    Hi Bennyl,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Can you please clarify what you are seeing now in Applications in the Desktop Software?
Do you see only applications that are already installed on your device? Is the BlackBerry Device Software installed on your PC?

  • Lumia 800: UMTS 850Mhz support?

Today, my Lumia 800 (RM-801) arrived from the UK. Fantastic phone, one of (if not the) finest I've ever used.
However, I was surprised (to say the least) that contrary to the information on the Nokia web site, it does not in fact support the UMTS 850MHz band - confirmed on the side of the box, and in testing. This is a major disappointment, as that's the band my carrier uses for its 3G service!
Are the specs on the Nokia web site incorrect, and no Lumia 800s support UMTS850? Or are there actually a few variants of the Lumia 800, and some of these don't support all the advertised frequency ranges? If the latter, how can you tell one from another?
    Full details of my phone:
Carrier: CV UK SW variant ID222 v.02
    OS: 7.10.7740.16
    Firmware: 1600.2479.7740.11451
    Hardware: 112.1402.2.3
    Radio software: 1.6.00.24
    Radio hardware: 8255

So this is confusing, I got this e-mail from Nokia:
Thank you for contacting Nokia Careline.
We are happy that you choose Nokia as your preffered device. In response to your concern about rumors that Nokia Lumia does not work with 850 frequency. We at Nokia does not encourage consumers to listen to rumors regarding the misinformation of our devices. Kindly be informed that Nokia Lumia does indeed work on the 850 frequency.
However if you are planning to go to a different state we recommend that you able your roaming on your device before leaving. We also like to suggest that you get in touch with the local network for the roaming process.
Should you have further query please do not hesitate to email us back.
I got this reply from Clove:
Yes I accept that Nokia have that listed on their website however; it has been confirmed that this is not a UK frequency, Nokia do list frequencies for their devices to work worldwide.
Our website has the correct frequencies.
And I received my phone last night and it does indeed work on Rogers 3G in Canada.

  • Lumia 800 AVI files support

I've seen it advertised that the Lumia 800 supports AVI files, but I'm not able to transfer them to the phone.
I'm not that familiiar with the Zune software but I can transfer wmv files.
Does the Lumia 800 support AVI files, if so how do I get them onto my phone?
If not is this likely in the future with the OS, or are there any applications that would help?

    Hi prowla,
Welcome to the Nokia Discussion Boards and thanks for posting!
Windows Phone supports these video formats for playback:
    3GPP formats (H.263), ASF, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4, VC-1, WMV 9
AVI in itself is not a video format, it can contain a number of types of encoded video. You can choose to convert your videos to a suitable format or use a streaming service like Plex to access your video collection on your home PC.
Hope this helped, let us know how you get on!

  • Wipe on Lumia 800 generate recurrent reset

    Hi,
I wrongly did wipe my Lumia 800 (059M359).
From there, everytime I configure my device, and begin to transfer more data to it (like 2, or 3 GB data), it freezes... and when I restart it (just pressing power button), it comes back totally empty (like a hard reset).
Not surprising, I found another guy who has exalt the same problem. The only difference is that he has initiated the wipe on Windowsphone website, and me at OWA website.
I took the device to the Nokia Care Point last Saturday, got it today, where they have updated firmware and OS version. But, again, when I started uploading data to it, it stopped working again, and I lost all my daily configuration.
    What should I do next?
    Thank you,
    Alessandro

    Hi Mineirinh0,
Thanks for your posts and welcome to the forum.
I would like to advise you to return to the Nokia Care point and ask for them to flash your Lumia, not just update the software. This will however wipe it clean and remove all personal data so make sure your have a backup by syncing media files using Zune and your contacts and calendar(s) to their respective accounts.
If you want to contact Nokia directly on this please contact Nokia Care through phone, mail or chat (where available). Contact information for both Nokia Care and a Nokia Care Point can be found using this link. These forums are mainly a user to user support forum, please see the forum guidelines if you have any questions on using the forum.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

  • Lumia 800 feature suggestions

Here is my take of what Nokia Lumia 800 is missing.
My previous BlackBerry Curvey was able to switch itself off at a pre-set time in the evening, to wake up again in the morning. This partly contributed to its 3-4 -day battery life. Nokia (Windows) should provide the same.
The phone needs a file manager. I cannot find my recorded notes (third-party application).
My wife's android is able to show weather in its start-up screen. This is handy.
There should be a way to make the tiles smaller.
With the .12070 firmware update, battery life appears better but still isn't satisfactory. The battery needs to last, comfortably, a full day of normal use without recharging.
There should be a single-button functionality to answer phone calls. Now I need to slide up, then press a button. Cumbersome.
There should be a similar single-button functionality to silence the phone if I do not wish to answer.
None of this is rocket science, so the question is -- why do I have to tell this to you?
Not to be mistaken -- I like my phone. But, guys, I need to see a greater effort from you.

Comments like My Blackberry does this and my android does this are irrelevant. If you want these features then buy one of those phones. Don't demand the features to be changed.
What would be the point if every phone was exactly the same. It is an open market and there are plenty of choices for the consumer. Each phone offers a unique experience.
Microsoft have went for a minimalistic approach to their design and personally I like it this way. It may not be everyones cup of tea but you weren't forced to buy it.

  • Lumia 800 marketplce

Hello. I'm using lumia 800 in Lithuania. Is credit card the only way to buy apps and games on marketplace?

    Hi dainusa,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum!
Purchasing applications via phone bill is possible as long as it's available or your network operator supports such service. Check this link for more information about buying apps for your Lumia 800: Getting apps from Marketplace.

  • Lumia 820. :Counters App is missing from Nokia Col...

    Hello
Recently i migrated from lumia 800 to 820. its a great phone however i am able to find counters app under nokia collections.
Whats the matter?? is that app not available for windows 8 devices??
    Please help me. i really Need this app;

    hello
this is the third forum, where all the responsible companies only say i am not the one who has to care for it. you have to wait for another one.
there are a good tools to do the job on windows phone 8, but nobody says to the paying customer that it is not working, or only for a few people all over the world who are lucky and can use the right provider.
there is a problem on data sense and a problem on visual voicemail too. on windows phone support, there is only a note that it is not available for ALL operators, but not for which.
and for sure, telekom is not ALL operators, it is a big one. but nothing is working in germany. and it is not better for using vodafone or any other provider.
always the same song. the user is the last one the companies do care about. why is it not possible for nokia, microsoft and telekom to come together and develop the missing features for the users.
please consider that the users are that peaople who pay for it.
