Nokia Lumia Icon + DT900 wireless charging problem

I bought a Nokia Lumia Icon which had a defected SIM card tray. I replaced the daughter engine board where the SIM card tray is located without charging the phone first (the battery was completely empty) and now when I'm trying to charge the phone wirelessly with DT900, it just doesn't work. So I don't know whether it worked (or not) before my fixing procedure.
DT900 works with my wife's Lumia 1020 and my Lumia 928 so there's nothing wrong with it.
So all you technical gurus over here:
1) how does the wireless charging work with Lumia Icon/930? I.e. does anyone have any wiring diagrams for Lumia Icon/930? There are two pins on the main board but where do they go? I didn't detach the main board, only the engine cover assembly and the battery in order to replace the daughter engine board where the SIM card tray is. So does the engine cover assembly have anything to do with the wireless charging (I don't think so) or do those pins go straight to the battery?
2) does anyone know whether this is a common problem among Lumia Icon / 930 phones? A type fault or a serie of phones with defective rear cover and its wireless charging assembly?
I'd really appreciate if someone could help me. Thanks a lot in advance!

And I think that this kinda censorship sucks
I can understand that when a manufacturer provides a free user forum they do not appreciate information posted which may cause problems and then be held responsible for the damages as it is an 'official' resource provided by the manufacturer.
I'd suggest you lookup the meaning of censorship which this most definately is not.

  • Nokia Lumia Icon unresponsive and scrolling

My Nokia Lumia Icon has been continuously scrolling through apps and screens, calling people and the touchscreen is unresponsive.  It was only happening occasionally but it has now been going on for a few hours.  I have done a hard reset on the phone, but it is still scrolling so I can not set it back up.  Any other options for fixing this piece of crap phone?

Almost exactly the same story.  Problem started a couple months after I got the phone.  Tried soft and hard re-sets.  Also downloaded recovery tool from Nokia.  The first re-load seemed to correct the problem for about two weeks.  It's come back and now the problem has gotten worse over the last few days.   Took it back to the store and they worked with tech support to arrange a replacement (Amanda, just be aware that it will be a reconditioned phone and not a brand new one).
My guess is that it may be a hardware issue...   probably something related to the digitizer.  It's weird, the phone looks possessed.  Almost like it was infected with a virus or something.   But the hard re-set or the image re-load should have wiped that out if it was the case.     It's a great phone.  I hope this was just a one-off problem.
    Good luck Amanda.

  • Nokia Lumia Icon/929 Available

It looks like the phone is now available on VZW site, http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/device/smartphone/nokia-lumia-icon?&&ziprdr=y
The only issue right now is that it seems still be somewhat of a place holder being the phone is still listed as $777 on contract.
Personally once the phone is available I'm heading to my local Microsoft Store.  With insurance (I believe is $50) you'll get the phone replaced with a brand new one instead refurbished ones that VZW dishes out.

This whole 929/Icon release is a sad and pathetic situation.  Is VZW really that worried about a good Windows Phone taking over their Droid and iPhone market share?  "Verizon is dedicated to the Windows Phone Platform" has proven to be more lip service than anything else since the release of Windows Phone 8.  That "dedication" is why you see the Nokia 1020 and 1520 at AT&T.
In response to fireball24; I also believe that the Microsoft Store offers a better deal on hardware than Verizon.  The insurance is reasonable, you get 2 swaps, and a replacement phone is a brand new phone and not a refurbished that someone has been coughing and sneezing on.  Plus, after you get your new phone from Microsoft, you can cash in your old phone at Verizon and use the money to recover a bit of what you spent.  Plus, plus: if your current phone becomes obsolete (like the 822), Microsoft will provide you a replacement of something new.  (The same works at the Microsoft Store for the Xbox and Surface.)  The monthly bill from Verizon is enough of a shake-down.  No need to give VZW extra cash.  I made the same move this Summer with the kids iPhones.  Get it from Apple and insure it with Apple.  Everything has to be a "game" with VZW.  What's in it for them.
...anyway, I have my place in line at the International Mall in Tampa for the ICON at the Microsoft Store.  Verizon releases all of their phones on Thursday, so I expect an announcement by either tomorrow or in 8 days.  Or maybe June.  Or maybe next Christmas.  It's become quite a joke.

  • When WP Nokia Lumia Icon 929 will have Windows 8.1 with Cortana?

When WP Nokia Lumia Icon 929 will have Windows 8.1 with Cortana?   It is already overdue !!!!

I received the download for my Icon on Friday the 13th (Feb).
The download is done in 2 parts... a prep program, and the OS update (1/2 hour to install).
    It is well worth it.
    Good Luck

  • My Nokia Lumia Icon won't turn on

I've had my Nokia lumia for about 5 months, I've been very happy with this phone considering its my first Windows phone. I was sitting on my home screen on 70% battery and it started turning itself on and off again, like it was attempting a soft reset,
I watched it after two or three true and held down the volume button and power button and it would turn on long enough to have Nokia on the screen, then it will show the blue screen (the Windows phone screen) I left out of four an hour and tried again, same
luck. Being last resort I put it on the charger and all I keep getting is the buzz..... Buzz...Buzz. I've been having software problem for about three days now. Please help me.

I had that happen to my Icon a couple times. I was able to 'fix' it this way:
    1. Phone powered down
    2. Connect charger
    3. Phone should begin booting
    4. Wait until it hangs.
    5. Hold power button to force shutdown
    6. Phone then boots correctly.
I hope that works for you.

  • Nokia Lumia 720 internet sharing DNS problem

    Hi,
I am using Nokia Lumia 720 (OS version 8.0.10517.150) for internet sharing and have had DNS issues lately. When connecting to hotspot with my laptop I get DNS server is not responding error. Phone has data connection and I can browse the internet through phone but cant use it to share the data connection. When I connect my laptop with other wifis it works fine also so the fault must be in Lumias hotspot generation.
Had the same problem few weeks ago but then restarting the device and changing hotspot settings helped but it does not do the job right now.
    Any ideas?

    Hi kalverk,
    Welcome to the forum!
Have you tried using your micro-SIM card with other internet sharing capable phones to verify it the issue is network or device related? Aside from your laptop, have you tried sharing your Lumia 720's internet connection with other phones?
Here are some tips that might help you resolve the issue:
    1. If enabled, switch Battery saver mode off: Tap Settings > battery saver > Off. You can also just connect the phone to the charger.
    2. Check the signal strength on the phone screen. To increase the signal strength, move around or move towards a window if you are inside a building.
    3. Keep your phone in the idle mode. Incoming or outgoing call will interrupt the data transfer until the call ends.
    4. Check the cellular data indicator (E, 2G, 3G, H+, 4G) at the left side of the phone's screen. Change the mobile network's highest connection speed from 3G/4G to 2G and back again to make sure that your phone is connecting to the network correctly. Go to Settings > mobile network (or mobile + SIM or cellular or cellular + SIM).
    5. Make sure that the internet sharing security type (if not selectable, WPA2 is used) and password settings match between the connecting device and your phone (Settings > internet sharing).
    6. Make sure that the operator mobile data plan subscription allows Wi-Fi tethering and your network operator has enabled internet sharing on the phone.
    7. If possible, try to create a connection with some other device or force the connecting device Wi-Fi adapter to use 802.11g standard - disable 802.11n mode. On a Windows PC, go to Control Panel > Network and Internet >Network Connections, and right click your active Wireless Network Connection and open Properties >Configure > Advanced, then select 802.11n and set value to Disabled. Once ready, press OK.
    8. Connect again, as internet sharing switches off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
Let us know how it will go.

  • Nokia Lumia 800 won't charge, stuck on loading scr...

My Nokia Lumia 800 ran out  of battery while I was at work (not the first time) I take it home and plug it in, after 20 mins of the red battery screen it vibrates and springs to life, but it never got past the white 'Three' welcome screen (one of three screens that flash up when the phone is first turned on, others are Nokia screen and Windows screen).
It's been charging for over 10 hours and it's still stuck on that white screen. The phone feels cold (not stone cold, but not warm either) so clearly it's not charging. I've tried a different charger, different plug, and plugging it in to the computer. When I unplug it, it dies after 20-30 mins and I go through the whole process again the next time I charge it.
When I plugged it into the computer it behaved very strangely. It rapidly connected/diconncted itself, not giving Windows time to recognoise the device was plugged in and install the driver software. Before evneutally diconnecting itself and going back to that white screen.
What's wrong with it? It's not the first time it's totally ran out of battery (although I don't let it happen very often).
The phone is only 4 months old!
    What do I do?
Nokia Care on Twitter was useless, asked me to do soft resets (already tried, many times, the phone turns off briefly, vibrates, then back to that white screen).
If I have to send it in for repiars how do I do that? I live in South West England, my nearest Nokia Care store is in central London, several hours away.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
The white screen it's stuck on looks just like this: http://www.techwatch.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Three-Logo-235x276.jpg

You should contact the nokia care point and they will organise the device to be collected.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Nokia Lumia 625 and wifi-facebook problem

I have the ordinary problem with nokia lumia 625...everything works except facebook (when using wifi at home)...facebook app wont load, news feed in People tile wont load, internet explorer loads every page except facebook (nokia xpress has no problem)...only thing that works is facebook chat in messages...i have done firmware update of the router (belkin)  and it didnt work i really dont know where the problem can be...any other devices works fine (even lumia 800 had no problems), any other pages or apps work fine on wifi and facebook works on other wifis--belkin support says it is a problem of this model of the phone not in the router

We just purchased a brand new nokia lumia 625 and are also experiencing problems with Facebook, cannot download newsfeed, also purchased a lumia 630 and have no problem using Facebook on that phone, Facebook also works on all our iPads and pcs, can only be a problem with the phone

  • Nokia Lumia Icon in the UAE?

    Hi,
Does anyone know if the Lumia Icon that was introduced by Verizon in the US coming to the UAE?
    Thanks,

No, that model is only for Verizon. An international version of the icon is expected to be announced next month but nothing has been confirmed yet.

  • Wireless Charger problem

Why wont my S5 charge on the wireless pad only when the pad is connected to an outlet.

        bigdoggy77,
Let's clear things up. I completely understand the confusion. Given that the wireless charging pad does not have an internal battery it will require power from an outlet to provide power to the phone. The wireless charging pad is considered wireless there is no wire required to plug into your device to charge it.

  • Windows Phone Nokia Lumia Icon 929 Update Issues...

My Nokia Lumina Icon was recently updated to the Lumina Denim 8.1 a few days ago. I absolutely love the new features, especially Cortana, the live pictures, and the transparent tiles. Even though the update came with a lot of positives, the few
negatives I've been experiencing really makes me wish I never received the update. My phones battery drains so much faster, the battery life went from 2days max with me using it, to barely lasting a day... also when I push the power button to wake
my phone, I have to wait for my phone to finish saying (Resuming....) before it would even allow me to unlock my screen and it's really annoying. Also when I'm scrolling up and down on the home screen I notice a little lag, and that takes away from the
smooth navigation. If you can send an update soon for these inconveniences I would really appreciate it so much, thank you for your time. (:

After updating to Windows 8.1, I no longer receive email, although I can send email.  How do I fix this problem?

Lets ensure your service device is running in top form! What email account are you using? ( ie, Google, Yahoo, etc) Have you removed and re-added the e-mail address since this occurring?

  • Nokia Lumia Icon denim update

I updated my phone as I was supposed to, and some features work. However I'm not able to open any apps, including Verizon which enables me to call. My photos don't open, in fact the only apps I can open are internet explorer, settings, and messages. Clicking on any other app just brings me back to the home screen. My error code was 80188257 which isn't displayed on the Microsoft help page. I restarted my phone, and the error code went away, and no updates are available. Nothing changed, I still can't open anything. What can I do to fix my phone???

Sounds like something went wrong during the update.
make sure the backup option in settings is enabled
    Check people.live.com for your contacts
Check calendar.live.com for any calendar entries
move all media off of the phone
When you have backed up everything  do a phone reset Settings > about > reset my phone
If this does not work, use Lumia Recovery Tool to reflash the phone.
