Nokia Lumia USB wall charger to charge iPod touch

Can I use the Nokia lumia 800 USB wall charger to charge my iPod touch? It is written there 5V 1A and I hope it is alright to use it for my iPod touch 4g

The ipod did not come with a power cord as we purchased it used from ebay. The ipod was half charged when we received it and it worked well enough to transfer songs to my computer (the previous seller didn't delete their 2000 plus songs). My son then used the same cord on his computer to transfer the songs, but processed an update to the ipod and after that,it wouldn't work. So, I'm not sure if we received a bum ipod, an update issue or we have a charger issue, but the cord we used to transfer the songs came from my son's brand new ipod touch. We've also tried 2 other chargers from ipods we have in the house, 1 being a wall charger.
One individual posted online that he took his ipod classic, mac and phone overseas with one charger and it worked fine on all but the classic. So, I'm thinking that they cords may not be universal. Online I've read that it must be a 6 pin firewire, high power 2.0 usb cord. Or that I need to purchase an applie charger. We don't live close to an apple store and I'm reluctant to order one just to have it NOT work.
My daughter is learning the hard way that buying off of ebay is not always the best solution to a cash strapped 12 year old.
Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

Charging problem on iPod touch 4th generation after updating to iOS 5.1.1

I updated my iOS to 5.1.1 yesterday when I synced some new music onto my iPod touch 4th gen. It worked fine, and charged fine yesterda after the update. I had it plugged in charging until I left, I used it and it die over night. When I went to charge it, it kept coming up with "Charging is not supported with this acsessory" wether it was in the wall, or plugged into my computer. As most windows users will know, when you plug yout iPod into the USb port of the computer it comes up with the Scanner and Camera wizzard. I generally close this, but with my curiosity, I let it stay open (without running the wizzard) and now my iPod is charging from ym computer, as long as this is open. Why does the scanner and camera wizzard need to be open for it to charge? Is there a fix for this? I've seen symillar problems on other iOS devices after upgradign to 5.1.1, so could this problem be because of the iOS update?

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Came back only 10 minutes later, and it would not turn on. Tried all the obvious solutions, even switched out the lightening cord. Apple support could not help, and their only solution is to call. Has anyone else had this problem? Any other solutions other than obvious ones? iTunes no longer even recognizes the iPod. Thank everyone!

About the only other thing to try is let the battery drain, then attempt to charge for 30 minutes and attempt to turn on, otherwise try another cable, and/or different computer, if still no joy most likely dealing with a hardware issue, schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and have your iPod evaluated. I have no idea what you meant by giving your sister your "iPod touch for proof". Proof of what?
The only way she could have traded it was recycling it for 10% off the cost of a new device but the Apple Store doesn't do this as far as I know for iPhones. You could take the receipt for your iPhone to the Apple Store and show it to the manager but you really need to solve this within your family.

Yes, the charging is auto ranging, so all you need is the proper plug/adapter. Apple sells a nice travel kit.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Taking my very first trip abroad. Do I need just the plug adapter to charge my iphone/ipod touch while in Germany or do I need a power converter as well. Pardon my lack of knowledge, but the last thing I want to do is fry anything!

The iPhone charger is a world charger, works everywhere, no voltage converter needed. You might need an adapter for the prongs, but that's it.

Try the following to get the iPod working.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The specs of the Adapter ("This accessory is compatible with the following:" in the "Overview" section) don't mention iPod touch 3rd generation. They do mention 1st and 2nd Generation

You must be right based on that article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353). The latest model of iPod touch is referred to as "iPod touch (Late 2009)" -- and NOT "iPod touch 3rd generation", as I erroneously assumed.
That completely answers my question about the USB power adapter.
