Nokia Lumina 520 and Bluetooth "breaks" my Garmin ...

I received a Lumina 520 as a work phone yesterday.The first thing I did was pair the phone with my car's Garmin Nuvi GPS. Big Mistake. Lumina Bluetooth "broke" the GPS. The bluetooth link stopped the GPS from accepting any key commands. The only way to fix it was to disable bluetooth on the Lumina 520 , then reset my GPS to its defaults, removing the displayed "Windows Phone" from the GPS bluetooth phone list. To confirm it was teh phone, I repeated the process, enabled bluetooth, paired the devices, and the Lumina 520 showed "connected" to the GPS. Immediately the GPS was unable to register any commands on its touch screen. Repeating the process of disabling bluetoth on the phone and doing a factory reset on the Garmin, allowed the Garmin to work again. Looks like Lumina and bluetooth is not a popular subject on this forum.

And you tried with which other phone(s)? Even then, it would still not imply the issue is with the 520 as there should be much more issues like this fairly specific one. Also why would you want to link the two? what is the purpose?
Bluetooth is an issue in general, go to any website about phones and you'll see the same type of posts. Problem is that while it is/should be a standard it's really fairly open as far as specifications go..

Hi. Have you tried rebooted the phone? Does this happen to all the music files you have? Where are the music files saved? Are they saved in the phone memory or in the memory card? Where did you get theses files? Did you download these from Nokia Music or did you transfer these from a computer?

Since applying the cyan update to my nokia lumina 820 and when connected via bluetooth to the nissan connect system in a Qashqai the audio is periodically interupted for a couple of seconds. This seems to coincide with either the phone signal dropping off or it could be when going from one cell to another. Very annoying and always happens when the phone is on and connected. If the phone is off or in flight mode or the bluetooth is off then it does not happen. Any suggestions please ??

The Lumia Cyan update with WP 8.1 consists of two parts. Were you able to successfully install both parts? Is Lumia Cyan already showing up under Settings > extras + info? Apart from the SW update, have you also checked if the phone's system apps have been updated? You can go to Settings > swipe to applications > store > check for updates. And then, pair your Lumia 820 with your Qashqai's Nissan Connect System again and see if the same issue will happen.

No sim works for my nokia lumia 520

My brother gave me an Nokia lumia 520, and i have tried off all of the sim cards and some ask for a sim card code or something similar im not sure now.
on others it says that its in gpm or gps mode im not sure what to do i don't know what to do.
i can use the phone but not call or text anyone
and im in the uk i tried (o2, 3, orange, lebara and some more) help please i don't know what's the customer service line for my problem even. And any idea how much it would cost to unlock it.

Only the network provider where the phone is locked with can unlock the phone. We suggest contacting them regarding this and the cost of it.

Javascript disabled on my nokia lumia 520

I have just bought a Nokia lumia 520 and downloaded the EBAY app but can use it properly when i try to reply to messages it all is says is JavaScript disabled you must enable it but i havnt got a clue how to do it

The official eBay app? I haven’t tried myself, however, this is a bug in the app itself, additionally the error message is misleading. I would contact their support. Did you do that, already?

Nokia Lumia 520 offline maps can not be downloaded...

I had downloaded offline maps earlier on my Nokia Lumia 520 and they worked very well. But after resetting my phone to original setings (which deleted all the previously downloaded map), I can no more use them. When I try to download offline maps, it gets stuck on 10% or something like that and then says "We can't reach maps library at the moment. Make sure flight mode is turned off and check your and mobile data or WiFi connection, then try again.".
Tring to resolve this, I had already done following things-
1. Again reset the phone
2. Soft reset the phone
3. Updated the HERE MAPS and HERE DRIVE
4. Tried downloading it from settings > Applications > maps > download maps
5. And lastly I was using WiFi for downloading and my Flight mode was off
I need this feature working on my phone at the earliest.
Please suggest a solution for this asap, NOKIA!!!

Hi, kanishkk. Glad to hear that you're now able to download your map data. Based on the information presented, the issue can be on your connection. If the same issue occurs, try to download using your cellular data to further isolate the issue.

Nokia Lumia 520 Texting

Hello, I've just bought a Nokia Lumia 520 and need some help with texting.
I sent a message to all my old contacts giving them my new number.
I sent the text to 25 people but only 2 acknowledged it. My mother was included and she was in the room and did not recieve it.
Is there any chance it has not sent to everyone? How do I correct this?

Did you have enough balance? Also check Sms calling center number in settings under messages.
It takes time when you send sms in bulk, sometimes it fails. Try sending it in lesser numbers like 5 or
10. If it fails its most likely to be service providers problem.

Nokia Lumia 520 1GB REBOOT

I recently bought the Nokia lumia 520 and am disappointed that it doesn't have 1gb ram so i cant play games like fifa (my fav) but i heard that there was going to be a Nokia lumia 520 reboot where it will change from 512mb ram to 1gb, is it true and when will it happen?

It's already happened, the model with 1GB ram is called the Lumia 525 and it's already on sale in some countries. If it's not yet available in your country you will need to contact a retailer or Nokia directly in your country for more information.

I have a nokia lumina 800 and have had problem with sending and recieving MMs from day 1
I have tried everything i know , like downloading the network App contacting the mobiloperator , they the operator told me that nokia lumina 800 was there trouble mobil , and that they had alot of problem getting MMs to work ,
I've tried manual insert of the MMS adress , and auto via/ App , nothing works even a reset of the phone does not work , i have tried to contact nokia about the problem via email on there internetsite , but funny i can't send the email from there site i click the send on there mailform but nada helps , so now i try here and hopefully i can get some help , because the faith in nokia is getting very doll , no help , nothing , hopefully they nokia do not ignore there costumers of the lumina 800 because they nokia have moved on to a newer model

Nokia Lumina 800 Change Font Size ?

I just got a new Nokia Lumina 800, and the text font is so small I cant read most it.
(I've some replies where nokia are claiming itsa 'visually impaired' problem. Nokia take note.... I had an eye test recently and have 20/20 vision).
Googling I cant believe there is no facility to change font size. YOU CANT CHANGE THE TEXT FONT SIZE ??? Was the device only useability tested on teenagers ?
Nokia: so my question is specifically WHEN will there be an update to correct this ? Or do i return the device and switch to android ?
I'd priortise this a an URGENT issue.

You are very lucky to not have an issue with the font size, some of us don’t have perfect vision and it would make life a lot easier to be able to choose a font size and colour that best suits our own visual ability. If you open a contact up and have a look at the headings which are in white against the black background (if you have dark set for back ground) then under that is the details that you enter, they are almost half the size of the heading font and are the same colour as the selected theme so I have chosen the lime green theme as this helps to make them clearer for me. Don’t know if you have heard but some people do suffer from colour blindness so some colour combination mean that they wont see some colours at all. So please this is an issue for me and some other users, I happy to hear your vision is excellent and its not a problem for you but it may not be like that for ever so this might become an issue for yourself one day. Please Nokia have a look at this and update it to either allow us to customize the font or allow pinch to zoom.

If Nokia would stop playing the commercial of the school play, and I didn't have to see the head butt or hear that painfully, makes me want to poke needles in my ears, music like 5000 times per evening while watching TV, then maybe I would actually consider buying one of these phones, but because at this point I do not think I have ever hated a commercial more, and by using the logic of 1 + 1 = 2, and simple transference, I now hate this product more than any product I have ever seen, or owned or even considered hating, and would never even consider owning this phone due to that commercial. I mean, come on, playing it on network TV like 50 times per night, and thats not even a made up number...I mean really...like REALLY??? Enough already. Whatever genius led you guys down this path and convinced you it was a good idea to oversaturate network TV with this commecial is obviously punking you and should be actually head butted repeatedly, and then locked in a closet for 2 days with that music playing from the commercial over and over, and then fired. STOP THE MADNESS!!! I am in the market for a new phone...it will not be the Nokia Lumina 1020, and will never be thanks to that commercial. Great call marketing department...ahem...no pun intended.

Could you please let me know which country you live in as I haven't seen any advertisement for the Lumia 1020 in the UK and I am extremely disappointed as I love the phone and Nokia and would love to see more advertising! Is the advert available on Youtube? Do you have a link? If not is it possible for you to record the advertisement and post it along with a link so I can view it.

Well if you got the Phone Pggray43 at a Local Corporate store in your Area) you should be able to return it as long as you have all the contents.! Phone, Charger and any other accessories that came with it the Box of Course.. As long as you have not went past the 14 Day return.. the store can go over what you used as in Air Time and Data..
Now if you've went past the 14 Day return you be Liable to pay a E.T.F = Early Termination Fee the fee for this is around $300 so hopefully you have not went past the 14 Day return window the Manager if Available is the one I would talk to tell them your on Social Security and you just can't afford a phone as this I'm sure they'll work with you to get something solved..

My Nokia Lumia 520, bought yesterday automatically restarts itself and goes into flight mode. I then have to remove the battery and restart (normal restart doesnt work) to make it correct. It has happened atleast 10 times since yesterday.
Any suggestions or would i have to get it replaced?
