Nokia Map 2 version ?

Latest version for Map 2 is ? mine one on my N95-1 is v2.0 wk21 b02...Is that got latest version released on 9/6/08 ? coz got more cities covered....anybody can help?

Only problem is that the New Nokia Maps Version 2 still does not work well finding businesses and Canadian (Quebec) Addresses.
I have to give up on the Nokia Maps and use Google Maps to get my destination information.
Also the exit numbers for a lot of the Canadian Maps are incorrect(even with the latest maps) and seen some bad and missing directional information. I just wish there was an easier way to report these problems than only on this discussion forum.

  • Nokia Maps Version

    Hi Guys...
I'm Asking about the latest version of Nokia Maps
    Is it this? (Nokia Maps 2.0 4503 3.2 u)
Or this? (v2.0 wk b04 Open GL LM MN)
    N78 OWNER

Nokia Maps 2.0 4503 3.2 is the current release version for the N96. However there is also V3.0 beta available from Betalabs.

  • The latest Nokia maps version(00.02.41.123)

    Whole Europe:
    http://static.s2g.gate5.de/map5/maploaderzip-00.02.41.123/312.zip
As I have not seen any discussion about this version 00.02.41.123 of maps here, does it mean that no version other than map appl v.3.06 is able to work with these maps?
Map application v.3.06 works on the following phones:
     Symbian 3: N8, E7, C7, C6-01
    S60 5th Edition: N97, N97 mini, X6, C6-00, 5800XM, 5235, 5230 & 5230 Nuron

    http://symbian.clanteam.com/indexmaps.htm
The map link is from the above site. There are countries too. The bad thing with the Clanteam site is that they do not mention very exactly what their maps are.
Maps for the latest version of Ovi Maps (the former Nokia Maps) from maps.nokia.com, and for the latest beta test version of Ovi Maps 3.x.
Maps for Ovi Maps (Nokia Maps) 3.x
Those are the (Beta) maps for application 3.06
Or I don't know whether Nokia calls those maps beta any more!!!
The most interesting thing with the appl 3.06 and  the maps -00.02.41.123, is whether those
work with other Nokia phones than those mentioned in the first post of this thread!!!
Or whether the app. 3.04 works with the 02.41.123 maps?? Some one wants to try?
I know it's frustrating to download such a huge package (2.8 Gigabytes) but it's up to Nokia to facilitate that.  I need the whole Europe for planning the summer trip.  I've 00.01.23.112 version of maps( from cityindex.xml-file) and appl. 3.04.  Those are not working  very well.
I need quickly figure out whether I need to replace my  car navigator  with a new one or can the current Nokia maps and appl be updated in a way that  those can be used for planning the trip and are useful during the trip. It's hard to know what is going to happen with the maps in the future. Perhaps Nokia makes the latest "beta" maps and appl available to all "smartphones" perhaps not.   I bought C5-00 and it has certain limitations: small screen size for navigation, perhaps too weak gps chip, slow processor and too little memory. But the small size and weight makes it very practical to have it with me once abroad.
Hardly Nokia minds if some one who has managed to download the whole continent makes it available to others through a file sharing site or similar!! The maps are free and it's in the interest of Nokia to share those maps to so many as possible. There are plenty of problems with the maps already, hardly they want more customers who are complaining all the time not getting what they want. Newer versions of maps and applications come with improvements..

  • Any chance to prolonge Nokia Maps Drive Europe lic...

Hi, I am still happily using my E51 with Nokia Maps version which needs paid licence for guided navigation and traffic updates. Until now it managed through the Maps Options - Shop and Licences but not anymore. I still can see my soon expiring licences but when I click on Shop, phone just says updating not succesful and thats all. I might be the only one left to buying that licence and they have probably just shut the sales down...? Anybody here managed to buy new licences recently?

  • N82 Nokia Maps update fail

    Hi,
I have a problem with my phone. The phone was turned off by mistake during Nokia Maps update. Nokia Maps do not work at all now. When i push button "Maps", I don't get any reaction. Nothing happens. Could you please give me a piece of advice, how i can to reinstall Nokia Maps or something else? I was trying Nokia Maps Loader, but it did not help me...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Try reinstalling it using the same procedure you used whe updating. If this works fine but if it doesn't then you have to reinstall the previous version and then try updating again.
Because Nokia Maps is embeded in the firmware, to reinstall the original Nokia Maps version, you have to reinstall the firmware. To do this, you have to use the *#7370# reformat phone code. Before reformatting you need to backup all data in your phone because your phone will be wiped.
After reinstalling the firmware, you will find that you are back to the previous version of Nokia Maps. Now try updating again. After you successfully update, delete the "Cities" folder on the memory card, use Nokia Maps at least once. Now finally you can use Map Loader to download latest maps.

  • Categories search in Nokia Maps for WP8

After switching from my old Nokia N8 to a Lumia 920, one thing that disappointed me is the categories search functionality in Nokia Maps in WP8. On the Symbian device the categories were handily available close to the name search etc. On the Lumia I first have to search for the "Popular" places before I can even select a category. This is not the biggest issue though.
My problem is that it does not seem to have the same fine grained categories as in the Symbian version. For example finding only gas stations seems to be impossible. In fact I dont seem to be able to show gas stations at all, since they are not included in any of the categories.
Am I doing something wrong? Can I add categories somehow? Is this something that will be improved in the future?
I am using Nokia Maps version 3.1.177.8 on a Lumia 920
    Thanks,
    Jakob

Presumably read Page 61 of the User Guide here:http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/pdf_guides/devices/Lumia920/Nokia_Lumia_920_UG_en-US_ATT_(2010000...
    Thanks for your reply.
If you read my question again you will notice that I already know how to find the categories. My issue is that the division into categories is far too coarse and it's impossible to choose one specific type of POI, for example gas stations.

  • Nokia maps / sport tracker problems on 5800

hi ive got nokia maps version 2.0 on my 5800 and just downloaded sport tracker but it doesnt show the map . i gather it only works on version 3.0 but i cant seem to update my maps or my map installer . anyone got any ideas cheers

Unfortunately NokiaSportsTracker and NokiaMaps don't share the map-ressources (it's probably planned in future versions of NokiaSportsTracker).
Therefore you have to establish an internet connection when you start NokiaSportsTracker and after that the application will load the maps from the web if you are on the map-page of a track.

  • Problems With N96 Nokia Maps

    Hey!
Just bought a Nokia N96, but i have som major problems with it, especially regarding the GPS function.
When i try to start Nokia Maps it loads up to 30%, and then stops. I`ll get this message: Can not open this program. Please install the lastest version on nokia.com/maps.
But i have tried that, it still doesnt work!
    What can i do?
(it works perfect when i connect the usb cabøe into it and suggests "mass storrage")

There are actually 2 versions of Nokia Maps and each has its own map data. You have to match data to Nokia Maps version. The best way to do this is to delete the Cities folder, running Maps at least once and then reinstalling the map data.

  • Map updates for Symbian version of Nokia Maps/Driv...

The last map update I had for my Nokia 808 is from back in April of this year.
Is Nokia no longer providing map updates for the Symbian version of Nokia Maps/Drive software?
This would be VERY disappointing if so.
Please respond, and not ignore this question.
    thank you

    thanks!
But sadly Nokia didn't even have the manners to respond in that thread either.. so there is still no answer.
I just dropped $550 on a Nokia 808 Pureview, with the assumption that I will have good GPS software...
Now Nokia is abandoning map updates for symbian?
I will be outraged if this is the case..
    NOKIA please respond!!

  • Nokia 6210 Navigator - which version of Nokia maps...

    Hi !
I`ve tried to upgrade my Nokia 6210 Navigator from Nokia maps 2.0 to Ovi maps 3.01 but it
    doesn´t seems to work.
If i try to upgrade it with the old Nokia map updater it just says: Cannot get enough information about the phone unspecified error
Can anyone tell me if this is possible.
I also get a error message when i try to use this file that ovikovi posted (http://static.s2g.gate5.de/nokiamaps-client/nokia_ maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis)
The error massage that shows up in the phone is:  It doesn´t work to install this file, the unit is built in!
And in Ovi Suite it says: The file is in use. Another application is using  nokia_ maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis
I´ve also tried to uninstall the version og Nokia maps that is installed on the phone but that doesn´t seems to be an option !
Any one who has a clue of something that can solve my problem.
    Best regards.

The above link has been working perfectly on my 6210 navigator.
For the technically savvy,  googling ovi maps "unsupported devices" will teach you how to install maps 3.03 and 3.04.

  • Nokia Maps - pre-launch version bug

    Hello,
I've just installed the latest version and it seems that it doesn't show properly street and city names with unicode characters - this worked well in beta version. Now map data looks very weird e.g. in Poland, because there are no Polish letters at all (instead there're some weird chars). The same problem exists in 'search' and others parts of the application.
    Tested on N93, v20.0.058
    BR,
    Jack

I found another bug - when you search for cash mashines nearby, application shows doubled entries in results list (e.g. machineA, machineA, machineB, machineB, C, D, D, E...).
Everything was tested on N93 with latest Polish maps (downloaded by Nokia Map Loader 1.1).
    BR,
    Jack
    P.S.
I'm slowly becoming main tester of this application

  • N9 Nokia maps (latest version)?

    I have a China branded N9 with PR 1.3.
Last week I was able to update my maps directly from my phone.
Map version 4.2.55; map data is 0.2.45.12 (release data is 23 Oct 2012).
I read that the latest version is 0.2.46.103.
Does this mean that I got a downgrade? (According to my N9 and Nokia Suite, my maps are up to date).
    Regards,

Is there another way to upgrade my maps to 02.46 version?
Map data folder structure remains the same as upon Symbian devices with data in (16) folders 0 - 9 and a- f so it is possible to manually download compressed .zip and place in cities/diskcache following proccedure outlined by ovikovi HERE upon Symbian devices.
Whilst this worked for me being familiar with it as essentially a Mac user, others have run into difficulties and it also has the disadvantage that although latest map data can be utilised you won't get it listed with a nice green tick beside the countries by this method; consequently I would hate to stop anyone's map application from working.

  • Ovi Maps and Nokia Maps - do I need both?

I am sure this question has been asked already but I cannot find it having spent some time doing a search.
The question is do I need both or can I dispense with one? If so, with what consequences?
The position is that I tried to update Ovi maps but couldn't because there was insufficient space on drive C, so I thought I would delete it and then I would be able to install the new version. Unfortunately wrong again - still insufficient space on drive C. Hence my question - do I need both maps? Life would be easier just with Nokia maps in the circumstances.

Thanks. Can I take it that Nokia Maps is pre-installed? Would I be correct in concluding that I can delete Ovi Maps to save space and just update Nokia Maps from time to time?
If Nokia Maps is not updated from time to time I would need to install Ovi Maps to keep up-to-date?
I have I think deleted Ovi Maps but I still have Maps. In fact I am fairly certain I have all the maps I downloaded from OVi Maps. When I run Maps the screen refers to "Ovi Maps". Perhaps I haven't uninstalled Ovi Maps at all although the programme said that I had! Perhaps it is Ovi Maps that is pre-installed.
Sorry but I remain confused and hope I can through this tread clear it up once and for all.
