Hi,
I downloaded Nokia Map_1.2_0702_S60_3.1( for mobile).
I tried to install it on my mobile Nokia6120c-1.
All the procedure goes fine, but at the end programm tell me that there is not certification attendance.
But I downloaded that SW from Nokia regular site and I have a new Nokia mobile bought all right, I don't understand why it doesn' download.

I got a 90 day free trial with Nokia Maps
But everytime I try to use it it says
No Internet Connectoin. Select Options > Tools > Go Online.
I do that and the same thing happens.
All I can see is a light green screen with a red dot in the middle on Nokia Maps
Internet doesn't work for me either.

    Hi nisrin
If you have a generous data plan you can download maps on demand I suppose but not very practical if roaming. As you have found countries covered are listed here with some being navigable (Voice navigation option available) and some being non-navigable in much less detail:http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/maps-support/pricing-and-coverage/m...

  • Free Nokia MAPS with Nokia N95

    Hello,
I have a Nokia N95 device and I wood like to know if it's possible to use the free walk or drive feature with Nokia MAPS on this device
    Thanks for answer

When they say voice navigation they actually mean navigation to include voice navigation, so you have to pay to use your phone for navigation. However, unlike other sat navs where you have to pay for map updates, with Nokia Maps, all map updates are free for as long as your license is valid.

  • 'Nokia maps' in Nokia Asha 309

Nokia has advertised that Asha 309 comes with preloaded 'Nokia maps' but there is not any type of map application. Can I download 'Nokia maps'?

To download official google maps goto google.com from the default browser of your phone, then select google product and download google map.
But recently there is some strange problem using google map which was not before. Now while loading terms and condition page it gives warning message and says: serious error & instruct to restart the app.

  • Unable to renew Nokia Maps License - Nokia E75

I am using Ovi Maps v3.01 (software and maps are updated to current version based on Ovi Suite) and till now everything worked fine, last year I renwed license without problem. Now, my license for Ovi Maps expired .. after clicking on Store it says it is updating and then jumps back to menu. License keys button does nothing. When I start navigation, after few second it says it is connecting to Store and  again says it is updating and jumps back with no effect and no store.
What should I do to bring my navigation back online ? ... I would like to pay for license but I simply cannot ...

Once again I will specify exactly what happens:
    - I select Store and Lincese in Nokia Mpas
    - I press Store (Europe)
    - It says .. do you want to connect to internet ? I say Yes
    - It says, Wait, it can take a while .... Updating software .....
    - It flashes and I am back in Store and license menu
    - My license and Insert license do completely nothing .. it just flashes ... it looks like the whole store part of the app was just missing and I have no idea what to do ..
Anyway , is it possible to re-install Ovi maps only in the phone ? to delete it completely and install as new ? ... I was looking round but found not much reliable info.
    Thanks

  • If download of Nokia Maps doesn't work...

...then you can try the following.
When I tried to download Nokia Maps from "nokia.mobi/maps" via "Web" with my E61i, once I clicked on "Accept Terms Service", the browser always took me back to the starting page with the red text "You must select your phone model". I tried this several times and it failed every time.
Solution: use the "Services" icon instead (which is the phone's WAP browser), and then the download should work.
Pretty weak of you Nokia to fail at this point...

  • Why did Nokia dumb down Nokia Maps with each new v...

I recently did a YouTube video comparing Nokia Maps to the GPS apps available on the iPhone AND Nokia Maps on Nokia N86 8MP.
The interesting part is that how many more functions does N86's old Nokia Maps have over the new Nokia Maps on the N8.
Lots of functionality has been lost, while all the other GPS apps got new functionality, Nokia Maps is instead dropping functionality left and right.
    Why Nokia?
Here's the video(s) BTW, if you are familiar with Nokia Maps, you might want to start watching from the middle of Part 3.

Thanks! And I really hope Nokia will take note and integrate those old and useful features back into Nokia Maps.

Oh, for sure I agree noone is pushing me, but the problem is... there's not a new-technology minimalist phone out there, as far as I know.
I want a C2-01.5 like I have now, but with a faster processor and more memory. Same size, a bigger (less edge margin) screen'd be nice, but whatever. A bigger battery and perhaps an even skinnier/smaller form factor. I want the OS to be super configurable and have options on top of options on top of options (and if it let me disable/hide the things I don't use - to reduce the clutter of the menus, I'd be in frickin' heaven!). Finally, I want them to put WiFi into this simple small stick. And the simplicity of the basic Nokia keyboard layout (with slightly raised keys {great job on the C2-01.5} that I can feel with my fingers) would be awesome too. If anyone can think of something like this described dream-phone, please do let me know. I'll build you a small temple and pray at it weekly. As far as it goes with this experiment, I'm sending the N301 back. And I had such high hopes!
Funny and sad at the same time.
    Thanks, guys!

P.S. Nokia, if you wanted to hire me for product design, I'm all ears.  Finland's a nice country. Lotsa salmon and saunas and pretty blonde girls.

  • E71 Nokia maps

    Hi every body,
I am a very happy E71 user. Everything is good with this phone but I still have one problem using Nokia Maps.
Nokia Maps is unable to go online when I use it with my cell phone provider connection. When I use it with a WLAN connection, everything works.
My cell phone provider connection is a 3G connection and works fine using web, mail, ... but doesn' work with Nokia maps. Do you know if nokia maps uses a special port to connect ? Do I have to ask my provider (French Orange) to enable something ?
Thanks a lot for your help.
    houbs.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

i bought an e71, but can’t get maps working.
reloaded the maps 3 times ( a lot: each time 2 GB!)
squares of the map disappear, or whole countries disappear (only the borders left)
Now finally I have the countires i need, but
Nokiamaps locks in / blocks in zooming in
nowhere help to find on the web for this problem
a pity since maps was one of the main reasons why I bought Nokia instead of iphone
moreover, the maps refuse to go online, even when I have no problem going online with other apps
    ps
gps navigator works perfectly with mobile googlemaps, but this is not practical out of reach of wifi

  • Nokia Maps Suite 2.0

I've just used Nokia Suite to install Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on a N8 running Belle.  I had been reading about it here: http://blog.maps.nokia.com/nokia-maps/download-nokia-maps-suite-on-your-nokia-belle-device#more-1929...
(When the installation said less than a minute left, it actually took much longer, around six minutes.  I was worried the program had crashed, so I tried to start it on my phone anyway, and right after that, the installation completed.)
According to the version information on the phone, I now have:
       Version  v3.09 12wk09 b05
       MW OpenGL MN
       Map version 0.2.45.110
I've got a few questions - the very first one being whether there is a document posted somewhere explaining how to use the new software?  Or, is it to be trial and error on my part?
Next, I accidentally created a new "favorite" while trying things out - I can delete it by going to my favorites list, and doing a long-press on that favorite, to bring up the box with "delete".  Should I be able to delete favorites on the main Maps page as well?  I think that's how I used to do it ages ago.
I did a search for a local bagel restaurant, and eventually found it.  I clicked on the little "i" (for information?) at the right side of the listing, and got their street address.  Should I also have gotten their phone number?  It would be nice if not only the phone number showed up, but if I could click on it to call them.
From the website about the program listed above:
"For our UK users, new Voice Search lets you get directions simply by speaking, so you can now navigate hands-free! Tap on the microphone icon next to the search box and speak your destination. Voice Search will be available for more countries and languages soon."  Is this included in what I just downloaded, and will it work in the USA and India?
Finally, I read something in this forum posted recently: "If you're still having issues trying the latest beta version from here should fix the issue: http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-maps-suite "    Is this version even newer than the one I just downloaded?  Which do you recommend?  Can you explain the differences?
First impressions are very positive.  The list we put together for Bell problems/issues can be found here:  /t5/Software-Updates/List-of-Belle-additions-corrections-needed/td-p/1328167/page/5 .   The issues for previous versions of maps were:
MAPS-- Ability to delete or edit map favorites from Drive (can be done from Maps).
MAPS-- Re-enable the auto/Bluetooth connection to work with Nokia Maps Navigation.Camera & video
MAPS-- Re-enable the auto/Bluetooth connection to work with Nokia Maps Navigation
MAPS-- Return the English "surfer dude" voice to  Voice Navigation on the N8.
MAPS-- Not possible to delete maps history.
MAPS-- provide a simple and convenient method to import and export GPS coordinates
MAPS-- Map widget doesn't support rotation with fingers
MAPS-- No backup ability for map favorites without going on-line
I'm hoping when some of us test these in the new version, we'll be able to mark them as "solved"

Well, my suggestions are as follows:
    Backup -
As to GPS, I when the phone displays the information about a "favorite", the GPS co-ordinates should be displayed right there.
I will have to test the other way as well - there should be a way to enter the GPS co-ordinates of a place you're interested in.  I did that years ago before even Anna was released, and it was very handy.  GPS co-ordinates are a "standard", a "universal" way of describing a location.
It's nice that the software can do all the things it does with the internet/cloud, but that should all be in addition to the basic ways of doing it, not instead of.  ....at least that's my opinion.
I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow - will have several days to work with the new Maps software, and see what I think.  First impressions are mostly good!  ...and thanks for your help!
Points taken on backup. I don't actually use backups much myself preferring to copy files manually. What could be an idea for Nokia Suite is to be able to define additional filetypes or folders to be syncd.
Agreed that display of lat/long would be useful on the favorite page, in fact I would go further and wish for the coordinates to also be displayed in 'local' coordinate systems as well.
You can search by lat/long (eiter as DMS or decimal degrees) as shown in the attachment. Again I would like it to go further as I would prefer to have been able to search for the point i used as 'SP 487 169'. Incidentally I tried the same lat/long coordinate search with google maps, on the N8 and my android tablet, and found that rather than it returning the point i was searching for it decided to choose a nearby address, so in terms of searching Nokia is way ahead.
Hope you have a god trip and maps proves useful. Since getting the N8 I have completly given up using my dedicated satnav and gps recievers, as well as compact camera.

  • Ovi Maps and Nokia Maps - do I need both?

I am sure this question has been asked already but I cannot find it having spent some time doing a search.
The question is do I need both or can I dispense with one? If so, with what consequences?
The position is that I tried to update Ovi maps but couldn't because there was insufficient space on drive C, so I thought I would delete it and then I would be able to install the new version. Unfortunately wrong again - still insufficient space on drive C. Hence my question - do I need both maps? Life would be easier just with Nokia maps in the circumstances.

Thanks. Can I take it that Nokia Maps is pre-installed? Would I be correct in concluding that I can delete Ovi Maps to save space and just update Nokia Maps from time to time?
If Nokia Maps is not updated from time to time I would need to install Ovi Maps to keep up-to-date?
I have I think deleted Ovi Maps but I still have Maps. In fact I am fairly certain I have all the maps I downloaded from OVi Maps. When I run Maps the screen refers to "Ovi Maps". Perhaps I haven't uninstalled Ovi Maps at all although the programme said that I had! Perhaps it is Ovi Maps that is pre-installed.
Sorry but I remain confused and hope I can through this tread clear it up once and for all.

  • Ovi maps and Nokia Maps

I have recently downloaded the ovi maps update for free navigation on my 5800 however now I seem to have 2 programs in my installed apps menu, Ovi maps and Nokia maps. This is causing me some problems as my phones built in memory is now completely full and I am unable to do some things as I have ran out of on phone memory space. Which one is the main map software? And also can I uninstall one? If not then can it be installed on a MSD card and if yes how?

As far as I can determine Ovi maps is the mapping software (program) which installs to C (phone memory) and Nokia maps is the map data that you have loaded which I believe are installed to E (mass memory).
I can confirm that you do need both installed.
The problem as far as I can see is that the previous maps versions 3.01 is built into the current firmware (v20 for N97 - not sure for 5800) and installing maps 3.03 does not remove or overwrite the earlier version so you end up with both versions installed and thus the extra memory footprint.
This will remain a problem until a newer firmware is released which will hopefully have maps 3.03 (or later depending when next firmware is released) thus reducing the extra 9 megs or so used.
    Hope this answers your question

  • Nokia Maps - Postcode search is no longer working

    Please help!
The is a post on the navigation and GPS section but I wanted to see if anyone on the main forum has experienced the problem, because we cannot find a solution.
Up until the last few days whilst online when I searched for a post code on Nokia Maps the result was the full post code location. When I did the same search offline the result was truncated. ie bp11 4re became bp11 4.
This is pretty useless in trying to locate anything using a post code.
Today I noticed that whether I was online or not, the post code search always produced the shortened result.
I have now searched on line and found nothing save for the post mentioned above. I have performed a hard reset and have the latest firmware for my phone (v12) I also have the latest version of maps v1.2.
Please can someone shed some light on why this search facility has changed. Could it be something to do with the Nokia Server?

A late reply but in case somebody is looking:
    /t5/Nseries-and-Symbian-Smartphones/Nokia-Maps-Postcode-search-is-no-longer-working/td-p/244168
The last one suggests that a full postcode search needs an internet connection.
    This lead to a solution!
In Maps, under Settings / General / Connection you have a choice of Online or Offline. If you have Offline then the search is limited as described, with the last two postcode characters ignored. If you have Online selected, then it works properly.
So even though Nokia Maps are offline maps, the full postcode search is done on their server.
