Hi tonysh
Which version are you trying to use as yesterday Nokia_Map_Loader_1_1f_Setup.exe would not completely download onto desktop?
You could try Smart2go on:

  • Nokia Maploader problem with N95

No i do not have a connectivity error with Maploader.
I cannot start the program at all. After installing. I click on the program then I see a splashscreen. And under the splashscreen I see a message saying That maploader is a program to transfer maps on your Nokia. Fine till then.
When I click OK I get a message Maploader doesn't work anymore: It has never worked!! And the program disappears
I tried both versions Smart2go and Nokia (both are the same)
I have Vista, I also did a reboot after install---> No Go
I tried WinXp SP2 compatibility---> nope not working.
I already opened Maps several times on the N95
don't really know what to do now.

Map Loader often fails for unknown reasons.
If you can put your memory card into a card reader, you can use AvMapsLoader by Andreas Vogel.
    - program: http://sites.google.com/site/avesomega/AvMapsLoader
    - review: http://symbianism.blogspot.com/2009/02/nokia-map-loader-alternative.html
If that doesn't work for you, just download the maps with your web browser and extract them to the map folder on your phone:
    - Nokia Map Loader Alternative: http://nokiamaps.site666.info
If your phone can go online by WiFi or if you have unmetered mobile internet you don't even need a computer to preload maps on your phone.
Of course you can also keep troubleshooting Nokia's own map loader until it works, but that can take such a long time that the alternatives are often faster and easier.
With WiFi and fast mobile internet all over the place Nokia should code a lightweight map loader for Symbian. There's no reason for not doing so, because downloading and unzipping map files really doesn't need hundreds of megabytes worth of Map Loader, PC suite, and .net framework. It doesn't need to take much more than a web browser (already present in Symbian), a zip program (already present in new versions of Nokia's firmware), and some code to make 'em work together.

  • Nokia 6300 error message when trying to connect to...

    Hello
I have owned a Nokia 6300 for several months and have been successfully backing up my phone book data etc via the PC Suite.
However I have attempted to connect recently and the software does not recognise the phone stating:
"There is a problem installing this hardware: Nokia 6300. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The name is already in use either as a service name or a service display name."
I have uninstalled the PC Suite but still get the same error.
I would be very grateful if anyone could assist please. Thanks
    Dave

If you are getting this kind of error:
"An error occurred in the installation of this device. The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name."
Try this (instructions are closely based on Microsoft's similar instructions for some modems):
    1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
    2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
    3. In Device Manager, expand Wireless Communication Devices, uninstall all items related to your phone.
    4. Close Device Manager.
    5. Uninstall PC Suite AND PC Connectivity Solution AND especially Nokia USB drivers
    6. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
    7. On the General tab, click Diagnostic Startup - load basic devices and services only.
    8. Restart your computer.
    9. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    10. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services, and then look for registry
entries specific to your phone. In practise search for "Nokia" and delete all keys
where there are values something like "Nokia USB...".
Under same key there is path to some driver file, typically pointing to (C:\Windows\) system32/Drivers/nmw???.sys
Delete also those files from Drivers folder.
    11. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
    12. Click the Services tab, and then click to select each service check box.
    13. Restart your computer.
    14. Install PC Suite (including Connectivity Solution and USB drivers)
    15. Plug your phone - now Windows should found and install your drivers normally.
Remember: Use these instructions at Your Own Risk!

  • Nokia c503 - error code 300 while installing java ...

    Hello
I am trying to install gmail java app on my c503.  I keep getting a msg: Something's gone wrong.  There was a problem with installing the file.  Error code: 300.
I have downloaded the app from a website as I couldn't find it in Nokia Ovi Suite.
Does anyone know what the message mean & how I could fix it?
    Thanks.

    Hi ps80
Thank you for posting and welcome to Nokia forum!
Downloading and installation of application from a 3rd party website has no guarantee that it will be compatible with your phone, this might damage your phone. If you want you can check Nokia Store for alternative application similar to what you're trying to download from a 3rd party.

  • Nokia Music error

    Hi,
I use a Nokia Lumia 820 with windows 8.0. Recently I started getting the following error.
Sorry. There is a problem reaching the music service.Try again in a moment.
I searched in the net and as suggested in one of the sites, i tried to change my country to UK and tried again. Its not working. Still getting the same error. Now, i have changed the country again to India.
I went into Nokia Music and to settings ang tried to change the sign in details with a newly created password.Even that doesn't work.
    please suggest a solution.
    Thanks.

Hi, satk45. I'm glad to be of help. How long are you having that issue? To verify, are you getting this full error message: "We can't get through. Sorry. There's a problem reaching the music service. Try again in a moment"? If yes, check if there are lots of apps that are running in the background, or accessing the internet, while listening to online mixes from MixRadio. This can be done by tapping and holding the Back key. If that didn't help, try restarting the application. In case that the error is only that one from your post, you may consider checking your internet connection. Switching it from mobile data to Wi-Fi or vice-versa might be useful.
    Let me know the result.

  • Nokia 6350 Error in Address Book.

I just updated my phone using Nokia Ovi Suite and restored from a backup, now when I go to the Address Book, after 3 seconds it gives me "No settings found.  Contact your service provider." error.  I only use this phone for calling, no email/im services/texting, just calls so what is it trying to accomplish?

Hey Photobug and all - Similar issue here. I realized what the issue was. After upgrading my 6350 through OVI the address book syncing no longer works.
First off, the tech is either straight out lying to you, or is ignorant of deeper technical issues. On these phones, the ATT apps are included in the firmware. This is why there are different variants of the firmware for the same phone for each different provider. The specific variant for ATT will contain all of the apps with it. When your firmware gets installed, all of the old firmware and apps get wiped clean from the flash. The problem with the ATT variant of RM-455 version 13 firmware is that there is yet another rediculous app from ATT called ATT Address Book. It runs in the background and prevents address book syncing with OVI. I guess ATT want you to sync only with their server, similar to cloud computing (like I want them to have access to the contact numbers for all my business contacts).
So, who's to blame? ATT for introducing an untested app that can't be shut down into the latest firmware, and Nokia for propogating it through OVI - in short they both are to blame. Nobody did any product testing here??? And you guys wonder why the Asian companies are kicking your butts! Syncing ones address book is pretty basic functionality that is needed for anyone with multiple phones or anyone that would like to back their data up. Not to mention, the new firmware is pathetically slow compared to the older version 4.96.
There is a work around, but it is a pain. What you have to do, is to do a complete reset of the phone, erasing all your content. After the reset DO NOT GO TO YOUR ADDRESS BOOK ON THE PHONE because this is the action that launches the ATT Address Book app. Before you do anything else, do an address book sync. It will work, so that you can get all of your contacts back on the phone, but as soon as you access the data on the phone, you won't be able to sync again due to the ATT Address Book app launching - once it launches it takes over syncing duties, and prevents OVI from syncing. Why do companies always have to destroy a perfectly good product with an endless amount of feature creep???
Unless Nokia can release a new firmware rev without the ATT Address Book, this phone (and the spare 6350) are going in the trash and this will be my final Nokia product. It's too bad as well, as the little 6350 was everything that I personally needed in a phone. The 3G tethering worked great (at least with version 4.96 firmware), the MP3 player was fantastic, and it never dropped a call. Not to mention it fit perfectly in my back pocket. I'm back to using my Apple iPhone 3GS for now until I have a chance to look at some of the new Samsungs...
If anyone has further info, please post it! Cheers - Trev

hi. Am using Nokia C7. I have music store In My phone, But it throwing an error saying "there is problem In registering your phone". Can you please rectify this issue?
Moderator's note: We have amended the title of this post as this was moved from another thread.

I think you are headed down the wrong path. The Customization Wizard is what you use to push out Reader to several hundred computers. An MST is a package or transform file that is used to accomplish this task. Unless you are an IT person and are trying a deployment of Reader this solution does not fit your situation.

  • Nokia 822 ERROR: Unable to find bootable option.

My 822 now says, "ERROR: Unable to find bootable option. Press any key to shut down."
This occurred earlier today immediately upon installing a Verizon update. The phone worked perfectly before the update.
What is going on? I certainly am not going to accept responsibility for this failure, or replacing this phone.
Before you ask, the phone is in perfect condition otherwise. Never dropped. Never seen even a drop of water (or any other liquid).
One thing peculiar I did notice was that the update took over an hour to download, which seems like quite a long time considering data transfer rates.
    So, what can be done?
    To recap:
    1) My phone worked perfectly. It was in perfect condition.
    2) An update was installed (which Verizon recommended (and I'd go as far as to say forced))
    3) Now the phone is completely inoperable, only giving the error message listed above.
    Help please?

Hi Joel, the sim card has been removed and reinstalled multiple times with no effect. And yes, only the the original Verizon software was on the device. To be clear, the phone was attempting to install a Verizon-forced update when it died. I would rather have not had the update because the phone was working perfectly, but Verizon does not give the option to decline updates, only delay them. It should be noted that with the help of Verizon associate (Lovesa) the Nokia Software Recovery Tool was attempted, but even that did nothing.
I have now done at least 8 hours of research on this and it is obvious this is a widespread and known issue with the 822. There appears to be absolutely nothing that can be done to revive the phone at this point. After viewing literally hundreds of posts on the "unable to find bootable option" error no one has found a fix. This issue is well documented.
Why Verizon would force an update that ruins users phones is beyond me. And to take no responsibility is, in my view (and most likely the law's view), criminal. To be completely honest and forthright, I am so upset about this situation Verizon is now losing a 15 year loyal customer.
