Nokia Maps full postcode search stopped working?

I have nokia maps with navigation upgrade on an N95 8GB. It's always been great and allows for a full 7 digit postcode search if you allow it to go online.
However, this has now suddenly stopped working and only does the normal 3 or 4 digit search that it would do if not online. For me this makes the sat nav useless as it can never find addresses accurately.
Anyone else had this problem?
I formatted the mass memory the other day as it was slow and had to reload the actual maps (the program is in the phone memory). Could this have affected it?

I received a reply to my email to Nokia after 3 days.
They suggested:
1) I ensure I have installed the latest version of Nokia Maps, which is a bit dumb considering it is built into my firmware.
2) Take my phone to a Nokia service centre.
FYI
I have now done a hard reset and still no joy. This is a very weird problem. Given that all firmware, memory and s/w have been completely reset the problem must lie elsewhere.
I see three remaining options:
1) My mobile account is blocked from accessing the Nokia Map server - unlikely
2) It is some kind of hardware fault - possible
3) Even a hard reset does not clear some config problem from the phone - possible

    It's me again. Sorry, but I am still poking around with RH 8 and AIR and trying to learn everything. I just inserted a second pdf into my project and installed the AIR output. However, the search is no longer working (was working before this pdf was embedded). I read around in this forum and found the following thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2284312#2284312). It indicated that the problem was with an error in the person's pdf file. How in the world did they find this error? I'm not sure how to check a pdf to make sure it is okay. Is this the reason people think the search stopped working for me as well?

    Unfortunately the AIR output is something reasonably new to all of us. As a result, there really isn't a good base of knowledge out there with regards to it. So in one sense, you are somewhat navigating uncharted territory. Many of us have no clue what to suggest. When issues have emerged, largely it's been the Adobe RoboHelp Engineers that have provided the solutions.
    In your case, it might be that the PDF you were adding has issues. Or, it could be something as simple as the AIR output only allowing ONE PDF to be inserted. I would think that would be easy to sort. Try removing the PDF where search is working. Add the other and compile. Does search break or continue to work?
    If it breaks, likely it's got something to do with the PDF.
    If it continues to work, likely it's got something to do with AIR not liking multiple PDFs.
    If you don't mind, I'm going to move the posts that are AIR related into the AIRHelp forum category.

  • Receiving a "FIXMAPI 1.0 MAPI Repair Tool has stopped working" error

    One of our users has Windows 7 Installed. When she emails out attachments, she right clicks it and chooses to "Sent To" and then selects "Mail Recipient".
    It opens and creates a new email fine. Upon pressing SEND it gives a "FIXMAPI 1.0 MAPI Repair Tool has stopped working" It does successfully email.

    Have you tried to repair the Office for the user?
    If that won't work, open the Explorer, and navigate to
    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
    Delete the file named Mail recipient. (Make a backup before you doing that, or you can just move it to the other folders.)
    And then open folder
    C:\Windows
    Find the file named Win.ini, open it with Notepad, find the section that begins with [Mail], and then add the following lines. Some lines may already exist, but you need all of them for this feature.
    [Mail]
    MAPI=1
    CMC=1
    CMCDLLNAME=mapi.dll
    CMCDLLNAME32=mapi32.dll
    MAPIX=1
    MAPIXVER=1.0.0.1
    OLEMessaging=1
    Save it and quit Notepad, restart the Computer.
    See if we can get rid of it.

  • Spotlight Search stopped working on my 4s

    Spotlight Search stopped working on my iPhone 4s.  Apple replaced my 4s 2 days ago and now spotlight search has stopped working on the 2nd 4s.  The Apple techs are stumped, any ideas?

    finally I found someone having the same problems
    I have an iPhone 4S 32 GB (germany, T-Mobile).
    I have all my mails and contacts via my work MS Exchange Server.
    My first iPhone 4S stopped searching after a while - it only shows 1 out of 10 search attempts.
    I walked to the Apple Store and they gave me a new one.
    Also the second one stopped doing any search 1 or two days later.
    So, disactiveted the search in my mails, my contact etc..
    ...but it doesn´t bring ANYTHING on the screen while typing.
    Today, I´ve been to the Apple Store again and the guy just sent me home - they can´t do anything
    Guys, this *****. I managed to use the iPhone at work instead of my Blackberry and now all other colleagues are buying iPhones, but if this is not going to work I´ll have a big problem.
    Any ideas here? What can I do?

  • The "My Ebay" page and the AT&T yahoo changed suddenly and some features are non operative. Also the Google instant search stopped working. All this is happening on Firefox. Everything displays and works correctly on IE. What could be wrong?

    Hi, On thursday evening I closed all open windows to do some virus scanning and window washer maintenance. After I was finished I opened up firefox and went back on Ebay and the "My Ebay" window has changed to a totally different appearance and I can't access messages, etc. My AT&T Yahoo email window has also changed its appearance and has selections on it which are new and non operative. They both are now presented as a vertical format and the "My Ebay" window is expanded off the monitor with a blue sliding bar on the bottom and large white areas in the viewing area. I can shrink it down, but I then need a magnifying glass to read it. The opening Ebay sign in window is normal. The opening AT&T sign in window is normal. Also the Google instant search results, which used to appear when I was typing in my search words, has also stopped working. Everything seems to work properly on Internet Explorer. When I double click on the Mozilla icon it takes me to the Mozilla start page and shows me the Google search bar. That is what I normally see. I'm baffled.

    (1) Firefox's built-in post-crash page has not been a real HTML page for a long time (for example, from the time of Firefox 22, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968212 Want to save LOTS of versions of "Restore Session.xht" from the "oops ..." page for later use]). If you had this working differently with Firefox 25, that might have been created by an extension.
    You can check to see whether extensions are disabled or need an update on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom of the list. To poll for updates, use the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
    If you used the Reset feature (or Firefox automatically did a reset due to some problem during upgrading), you will need to reinstall missing extensions. The reset feature creates a folder on the desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you have that folder? There may be data you can recover from it.
    (2) There are many ways for history to get cleared, both internal to Firefox and external. Could you double-check your Privacy settings?

    * The "Firefox will" drop-down says Remember History: Firefox shouldn't be clearing history, but an add-on or external software could do it
    * The "Firefox will" drop-down says Use custom settings for history: inspect the "Clear history when Firefox closes" setting to make Firefox isn't set to clear history. Also check your add-ons and consider external software.
    Firefox normally accumulates months of history. However, some of Firefox's database sizes are based on disk space available. If your hard drive is very full, Firefox might reduce the amount of history stored.

  • Maps check in has stopped working

    Hi - I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. I have happily used maps and the check-in process, but about two weeks ago it stopped working. When I try to check in now, the phone appears to be trying to update the places, but then comes up with the error message "There are currently network problems. Please try again later."
    I have tried removing my Nokia account, rebooting the phone and reinstalling it. This made no difference.
    I have also tried deleting the "Cities" folder and then reinstalling the maps via Nokia Suite. Again this has made no difference.
    Does anyone have any other suggestions for what I should try? I like checking in!

    Can Ovi Maps application go "Online" via say WLAN connection?
    If so you could removing your Nokia account (go to the Accounts section of Maps by tapping the button in the top right corner of the main grid - it says "Please log in" or "Hello john", then tap "Nokia Account") and rebooting your phone.

  • Search stopped working in CHMs compiled using RH 8.0.2

    Today I noticed that the Search functionality had stopped working in CHMs that I recently compiled using RH 8.0.2. I'm sure they were all working pretty recently but can't say exactly when it stopped working.
    As a test, I created a test HTML Help project with default settings, and wrote three short topics. When I compiled it, there was not even a search button/tab, nor were there any others, even though Contents, Index, Search, and Glossary are all selected in the "Window Properties (WebHelp Pro)" dialog. (Since when do these settings apply only to WebHelp Pro?)
    I was so surprised that I thought I must have done something wrong, and repeated the experiment -- with the same result.
    The only thing I can recall doing on my computer is uninstalling Microsoft Visual Studio. Surely that couldn't have had this effect?
    Also, there was a "Security Update for Office 2003 (KB976382): VBE6" and a "Security Update for Windows XP (KB978542)", both on May 12.
    Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks

    Do you have a window specifically for CHM files? Beware your window characteristics are taken from your default single source layout, so if you have that set as WebHelp Pro and use it when compiling a CHM you are likely to get odd results. You'll need to change the default SSL to MS HTML Help, create the new window and (if you want) reset the default SSL back to WebHelp Pro.

  • Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working

    I have never been able to get Ovi siute to work on my laptop.  I'm running Wondows Vista and have tried removing all Nokia programs and drivers and doing a fresh install but I still get the same notice every time I try to open Ovi suite.
    "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify youif a solution is available."
    Can anybody offer any advice on how I can get it working.

    if you have not tried this you can try it once.
    1. Uninstall Ovi Suite, PC Connectivity solution and Nokia Connectivity cable drivers from Add/remove program if anything is there.
    2. Delete the files from here If anything is there
    C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Nokia\Ovi Suite
    C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache
    3. Restart Computer.
    4. Download and Install latest OviSuite http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
    5. Connect the device and try to sync

    after downloading nokia map 3.0 i get this error " not enough memory to start application" i also have deleted qf files & cities after i've started map again but still get the same error...anyone can help please?

  • Endeca 3.1.0 . Search stops working without reason

    We experience serious issue on our test site, which supposed to be ready for production deployment soon.
    I don't have a lot information, but what happens - search and product listing pages stop working, feels like search freezes. You click on some category page, and it loads forever. The same happens when you try to search by keyword.
    Few times the issue was probably caused by simultaneous indexing requests triggered from multiple directions - e.g. one person started baseline indexing from dyn/admin, while other did project deployments in BCC, which in turn trigger indexing.
    We still didn't get what helps to unfreeze search - once I ran promote content script, and it helped. Other times I did restart all Endeca services, and suddenly search began to work again.
    Please advice, what is the best direction for investigating the issue? Which logs to look into? The good advise is not doing simultaneous indexing, but we can't be dependent on Endeca so much, it is too simple to make the site down. We never experience such issues with ATG Search.

    There is always a reason
    Did you check the logs in your application/logs directory? Since the failure seems to be happen during indexing, I would start with the baseline and partial update logs.  That should give you a starting point. It might also be a good idea to check your Dgraph logs as well as UI logs.
    BTW, indexing/baseline script have an inherent locking mechanism to prevent simultaneous indexing.  You might want to check wiuth your tech team if that was disabled/removed.

    We have a problem with the integration of SAP E Recruitment and TREX Search Engine. Maybe someone can share their idees if same problems occured.
    We have of course done investigations on SAP marketplace and the sdn community. In Fact the TREX is configured and works fine for searches with drop down selections, etc> When using full text search however no responses are shown. When performing searches on the indexes in TREX itself we have results on free texts.(as example Web Dynpro application Full Text Search )
    Does anyone has a clue where to look? Of course customizing have been reviewed several times. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

    I am having the same problem but now in my case the RFC_PERIODICAL_SERVICES job keep running eventually we have to kill it..
    It usually runs for less than a min but now it is running for hours..
    I have reindex a few time and turn that job off when i was reindexing but still no resolution.  Search works in trex admin tool but still not able to search threw website.
    I openned up a high priority ticket with sap.  Any suggestions would be great..

  • NOKIA N91 all sound just stopped working

    I dont know what happened, one second everything was working fine and the next all the sound on my phone stopped working. Even the nokia start up tune isnt wokring, my phone doesnt even vibrate(it doesnt ring when someone calls or whn i get a text message, sound in games doesnt work and alarm sounds or music player sound doesnt work, it shows the song as playing but no sound comes out). i have tried every single profile and have checked my settings. I have also restarted my phone by holding the green key, "*" key, 3 key and the turn off button. This didnt fix anything...at all! I dont knowwhats going on, no water got into my phone i havent dropped it either, but its not very new, its about 2-3 years old (used to be my fathers phone but i took it from him because my old phone stopped working) and i have been using it for about a month or so!
    Please help me! i have no idea what to do!

    It looks like the phone has suffered a hardware failure.  All you can do is visit a nokia care point for help.  They will not be able to give you a price for the repair until they have inspected it.

    You may try un-installing and then Re-installing the nokia Suite. You may also try the latest Beta version from here .. Need to log-in using the same credentials that you use on this Forum, to download the installer..

  • Lion Mail Search Stopped Working

    The search in my Lion Mail doesn't work at all. When you enter some text you get nothing. This is on my Mac Pro. On my Macbook Pro it works. I even deleted all the mail and let it reimport. I even reindexed spotlight. Next step is to remove all the accounts and start over. I stopped using Apple Mail because of this before and chose Thunderbird which works perfect, but Lion Mail came out so I thought to give it a try and it still doesn't work. I have to be able to search.

    Have you any idea why my original script stopped working, just like to know to stop this happening again.
    Since the original script has always worked flawlessly on my computer under OS X 10.8.1, the only thing I can think of would be another application interfering with Mail or AppleScript in your system.
    By the way, the following version of the script might be somewhat faster when you have a huge number of messages in your mailbox:
