Nokia Maps looking for Bluetooth

Hi
My Nokia maps (2.0 and 3.0) keeps searching for bluetooth devices. Even if I select a bluetooth device it keeps looking for other devices.
Can anyone help me change this? I don't know how to change it in maps or in bluetooth settings.
Thanks

Your Nokia Maps is actually looking for a bluetooth external GPS reveiver and not just any bluetooth device. In order for it to stop serching, you have to disable bluetooth GPS. In order to do this, from the phones main menu, goto Tools>Settings>General>Positioning>Positioning methods. Untick/disable Bluetooth GPS.

  • How do download Nokia Maps files for Nokia C6-00 o...

    Recently I found an update files to my Nokia C6-00 Nokia Maps file,
    I stucked at 81MB of 99MB and prompted the download is timeout.
    I have fail download for 3 times.
    Is there any where I can download the file manually for Malaysia map ?
    Thank you.

    Assuming that your C6-00 is running Nokia Maps v3.06 here you are Malaysia
    Should howver you be running Nokia Maps 3.04 (unlikely) you would need Malaysia
    Base map/ClientIndex is not altered frequently so older version usually suffices.
    If you need any further help on deploying decompressed .zip of (16) folders 0 - 9 and a - f to E:\cities\diskcache, please post again.

  • Looking for bluetooth headset for ipad2

    I am looking for a bluetooth headset that is compatible with the iPad2, any suggestions. I've heard there are pairing and output questions on some headsets.

    I use the Motorola S9-HD's, not too expensive & they sound OK to me.

  • Can't log in, because computer is looking for bluetooth keyboard

    When I start up my computer, it starts to look for a bluetooth keyboard - I guess at some point it recognized my husband's bluetooth keyboard for his iPad.
    It means, however, it doesn't recognize my USB keyboard even to key in my password, so I cannot access Preferences to stop it from searching for a bluetooth keyboard. My husband is traveling - with his iPad... Any advice on how to fix this?

    By the way the message says that the keyboard isn't connecting because the bluetooth keyboard setup isn't connecting. That it's looking for a wireless keyboard.

  • Nokia Maps - suggestions for improvement

    Been using Nokia Maps Navigationon my E61i for a month now, previously I used Telenav on my E62.
    The interface on Telenav is more intuitive / user friendly, Nokia Maps is confusing. I am getting used to it, but still.
    Trip duration (lower right corner), at least that is what I assume it to be. It is off completely the entire trip. We use a TomTom Go910 for the family and it is off on its initial estimate but then it adjusts as you drive along. On a trip from Oklahoma City to Wichita Falls it estimated the trip to be 3.5 hours. Actual distance was only 165 miles, so a little bit over 2 hours. It its current design this feature is worthless. By the way Telenav has this figured out.
    Airport Codes:
    Driving back to OKC, I realize that a keyword search on OKC (the official airport code for Oklahoma City) only results in tens of matches of businesses with OKC in the name. But no air port. If you want to be serious about business travel this needs to work. Same for car rental return locations at the airport.
    After a few hours of use the E61i crashes and restarts itself.

    The indicator at the bottom right of my Nokia Maps screen shows the remaining estimated journey time. This seems to me to be one of the most useful features. The only refinement I'd like to see is an option to toggle between this and an estimated arrival time.
    With regard to search, there is a lot of scope for improvement here, given that this is the search that the software defaults to when you enter text directly without selecting an option. This should allow any kind of searching - i.e. post or zip code, place name etc. In the UK, the post code is the most useful type of search, but is not enabled via this inout - you have to go to address search to input a postcode. The app should have the intelligence to recognise the type of input and act accordingly.
    Another much-needed improvement would be to improve the access to searching for the address from contacts - as this is a pretty obvious way for people using a smartphone to ssearch it should be there among the first level opetion - not buried as an option under address search.
    Also, the options should be arranged with more consistent thought as to which will be most used, for example, under the "Landmarks" menu, Route From, Route To, and Navigate To, are in the midlle - requirig more keypresses than Delete Landmark, Edit Landmark, Show Details or Serach Nearby! Seems like a lapse in the quality control there doesn't there?
    A great, and easy improvement (because the code is already there) would be to use the Voice-Independent name recognition capability of recent phones to select stored Landmarks and recent destinations - I'm surprised this feature isn't there already.

  • Sql for  inheritance mapping looks for inherited attributes in base table

    i don't know if it is my mistake but....
    with inherited attributes (that worked OK in 10.1.3DP3) we are experiencing strange behavoir in that: the sql generated to retrieve implementors of a base class from a base table with additional attributes for subclasses read from joined tables is not valid.
    in 10.1.3DP3, the sql is correctly generated such that the attributes for subclasses are selected from the appropriate joined tables
    in 10.1.3DP4, the sql is generated such that all fields are selected from the base table, regardless whether these fields are mapped to the base class (base table) or subclasses (joined tables).
    what i expect to see is that the base table (usually aliased as t0) AND the joined table for reading subclasses (usually aliased as t1) are used in the sql statement.
    instead, all fields are selected from t0.
    i have included the generated descriptor code

    Hello Paul,
    There is a difference in your descriptors that is causing the problem. In the DP3 descriptor, you have selected dontReadSubclassesOnQueries() option, meaning that queries to the base class will only return base class implementations.
    The DP4 descriptor instead has setReadAllSubclassesViewName("ENRICHMENT_RULE"), which is telling it that when a query is performed on the base class that TopLink should also return subclasses. It is also telling TopLink to do this in 1 query using the ENRICHMENT_RULE view table - this allows you to specify a view that joins all the inheritance tables. This option is good when you are using cursors and the like but still need to query on the base class to get the subclasses.

  • Looking for Bluetooth transceiver

    Hi,
    I am currently pluging my iphone 3G to a speaker system via a Aux cable, using the mic on the phone to to conduct voice call. Is it possible to use a bluetooth transceiver to replace the Aux cable?? and I would still want to use the phone's mic.
    Apprecieate if you can suggest any model that can fulfil the function.

    The Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth will work for you in a car but I guess you are talking about a desktop solution.
    I haven't found one yet but would like a more intergrated solution than the kensington unit.

  • N96 Nokia Maps "Voice" & Bluetooth car radio.

    Hi, I have a problem with Nokia Maps voice and Bluetooth car radio. Although the N96 voice call works well through the car radio (tevion md 814508, Bluetooth version 1.2) the nokia maps "voice' does not come through. Also I would like to stream my phones MP3 music as well.
    Any ideas?

    Hi confiture
    A bit of an update.
    Like johndub in his post I've found that if I switch the car stereo to aux I do hear a voice but really crackly and distorted. You can't really tell what 'he' is saying. Play some music with Car Menu/Music Player and it's clear. Switch the stereo to radio (or off) and the voice is gone.
    This obviously is quite a bug. Nokia not being exactly 'joined up' when it comes to their hardware and software releases again possibly?
    "If you start car menu and do not activate the music player, instead move straight to navigation, selecting your route etc then it will mute the radio and send the guidance down the mono channel like a phone call"
    Unfortunately I can assure you this doesn't happen.
    I have noticed there is a software update for the CK-300 but I don't have the correct cable for the job. Any idea where I could get this done? I found a link for Nokia installers on here a while ago but I'll be damned if I can find it now

  • XSLT mapping code for N:1 mapping

    Hi Guys,
    I have got one scenario to collect 5 files to merge as one. To this scenario I want to use N:1 mapping. If I am not wrong, with XSLT mapping is easiest way to do this, please correct me if I am wrong. Can any one provide some links or code to merge these files into one.
    Thanks in advance.

    what is correlation here?
    I have three messages coming into BPM....now all the three messages should have a field (any field) whose value will be the same in all the messages.
    Ex:
    <Message1>
    <Name>SAP</Name>
    <ID>40</ID>
    </Message1>
    <Message2>
    <Name>SDN</Name>
    <ID>40</ID>
    </Message2>
    <Message3>
    <Name>FORUM</Name>
    <ID>40</ID>
    </Message3>
    Now to correlate the above messages, the field ID would be used as it has the same value in all the messages.
    How does message mapping looks for the following messages
    In your BPM you will have a Transformation step....the mapping included here will have three source messages (File1, File2, File3) and there will be a single target message which will have the below structure:
    <ROOT>
    <OUTPUT> ...... 0..unbounded
    </ROOT>
    OUTPUT node of the target should be duplicated (right-click --> duplicate ... in message mapping).....do it twice so that you will have three OUTPUT nodes.
    Now each target-OUTPUT node should be mapped to the source OUTPUT node, respectively.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Why did Nokia dumb down Nokia Maps with each new v...

    I recently did a YouTube video comparing Nokia Maps to the GPS apps available on the iPhone AND Nokia Maps on Nokia N86 8MP.
    The interesting part is that how many more functions does N86's old Nokia Maps have over the new Nokia Maps on the N8.
    Lots of functionality has been lost, while all the other GPS apps got new functionality, Nokia Maps is instead dropping functionality left and right.
    Why Nokia?
    Here's the video(s) BTW, if you are familiar with Nokia Maps, you might want to start watching from the middle of Part 3.

    Thanks! And I really hope Nokia will take note and integrate those old and useful features back into Nokia Maps.

    Oh, for sure I agree noone is pushing me, but the problem is... there's not a new-technology minimalist phone out there, as far as I know.
    I want a C2-01.5 like I have now, but with a faster processor and more memory. Same size, a bigger (less edge margin) screen'd be nice, but whatever. A bigger battery and perhaps an even skinnier/smaller form factor. I want the OS to be super configurable and have options on top of options on top of options (and if it let me disable/hide the things I don't use - to reduce the clutter of the menus, I'd be in frickin' heaven!). Finally, I want them to put WiFi into this simple small stick. And the simplicity of the basic Nokia keyboard layout (with slightly raised keys {great job on the C2-01.5} that I can feel with my fingers) would be awesome too. If anyone can think of something like this described dream-phone, please do let me know. I'll build you a small temple and pray at it weekly. As far as it goes with this experiment, I'm sending the N301 back. And I had such high hopes!
    Funny and sad at the same time.
    Thanks, guys!

    P.S. Nokia, if you wanted to hire me for product design, I'm all ears.  Finland's a nice country. Lotsa salmon and saunas and pretty blonde girls.

    Just Try poet reset. Dial *#7870# and press call.Enter 12345 if security code required. Phone will restart, your settings will restore to original. Mail boxes if any will be deleted. You will need to set your ringtones and other settings. Your apps and files WILL NOT be deleted. Now check software update menu. Most probably you should receive the update. Else you will be forced to hard reset and if you proceed to hard reset, make sure you back up your data.

  • Nokia Maps and Bluetooth Headset

    Whenever I have my bluetooth headset connected and I'm using Nokia Maps (2 or 3) the volume for navigation keeps switching itself off.
    It's not the volume on the headset as this works fine and I can make calls without the volume dropping.
    I turned the volume up on my N96 and the next time I get voice directions by NM the sounds drops away again, pretty annoying.
    I've re-installed NM maps a few times including the sound files just in case that was the problem and I now that I've moved to NM3 I was hoping the problem might have gone away....it hasn't.
    Does this happen to anyone else? Anyone got a fix?
    Oh and does anyone else think the Female (UK) voice in NM3 sounds fed up when giving directions?

    Hi,
    I seem te have the same problem with N82 connecting to standard bleutooth peugeot carkit.
    I raised a call with nokia buth they seem to not want to support because of third party. I hooked up an HTC S740 from my buddy this one works like a charm.
    Looks like nokia is going into headset modes, see headset icon. Then all sound should go to headset. However my carkit supports also handsfree and it seems like the connection with my nokia keeps ending up in headset!
    nokia please help, this has nothing to do with the carkit!
    Kind regards Christian

  • Nokia Maps for Australia - big flaws.

    I have an N96 and I have to say, the Nokia Maps leaves a lot to be desired.
    First of all, it can take a good 15-20 minutes before my phone will even get a satellite lock and tell me where I am.
    The user interface in Maps 2.0 is as clear as mud. Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. Why it cannot take the same, easy process like a dedicated GPS unit I don't know. For a start, to enter a street number, you cannot press the # key to go into number mode, because that key is used for zooming in and out of the map. This defies everything else on the N96 in terms of user interface. I discovered you need to cycle through the letters until you reach the number.
    For some reason, some streets that I KNOW EXIST, like Phillip Street in Sydney - one of Sydney's main streets - does not appear in the search when you look it up! It shows on the map, but you cannot find in the search. Ridiculous!
    Also, the navigation is not at all smart. I was trying to get to Raglan Street, Balmoral NSW as I was coming out of the city. The navigation software made me turn left at Cremorne, turn left again, and left again, trying to get me to cross Military Road in a way that would have gotten me a ticket (or killed) had I obeyed. Useless. It wasn't even the most direct route either, as I discovered once I'd got to my destination.
    Worse, was that the phone rebooted twice while I was trying to voice dial using my bluetooth headset. Not very helpful. Voice System Errors abound in this phone.
    Furthermore, the integration between Maps and the phone functions are very poor. Since the voice dialling on the N96 is not good anyway, sometime you hear the bleep, sometimes you don't, so you have no idea when to speak and when the phone is listening, and if you can do all that without the phonc crashing (I'm using 11.101 firmware) then you're a better person than me.
    Now, Nokia wants us to pay $130 per year for this rubbish. My advice is to forget using your phone for navigation. It's way too unreliable. Put the money towards a proper GPS unit and just keep the N96 Maps 2.0 for novelty purposes only. It really isn't worth it.
    Ian Nicholson
    Poor Sod/N96 Owner
    Nokia: Connecting People... with iPhones.

    The Nokia GPS receiver is low powered and hence not very sensitive. This is why there is an AGPS function which when activated will dramatically time to first fix. AGPS requires data connection to work.
    If you press and hold any of the numerical keys on your keypad, it will go straight to the number. There is no need to cycle.
    The search is a little funny at times. My tip is to keep the search vague, i.e. search for Phillip instead of Phillip Street. It may have something to do with the fact that Phillip street may be listed as Phillip St on the database.
    There are a few navigation modes such as fastest, optimised, shortest. Try them out to pick the one that best suits you.
    I use Voice Commands all the time. It is a little bit troublesome at the start while the phone learns your accent. It took me about a month before I could say I was happy. Nowadays it works about 99% of the time.
    I use my phone sat nav as a backup to the unit I have in my BMW. I can't say that one is much better than the other. Both have their idiosyncrasies. The BMW unit leads me up the garden path as often as the Nokia. I do use the Nokia extensively when I travel abroad. The N96 was exemplary on my recent fly drive trip to spain.
    I pay £200 twice a year for map updates for my BWW unit so I don't really complain about the Nokia charges because all the map updates are free.
