Nokia maps s40 (c3-01//c2-03//asha 300)

Hi there, Where can I download nokia maps for these devices? (euro maps) C2-03 has nokia maps, so it should be available in some ways, right?
DO NOT link me this http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download because these phones are not listed.

As far as I can tell, Nokia C3-01 does not support Nokia Maps. If Maps download is not made available to you through Nokia Suite, then I'm sure that your device does not support Nokia Maps. The C3-01 also does not have a GPS receiver as part of the phone hardware, and reviews of the phone I have read on the Internet, do not make mention of any Maps functionalities. Yes, it would be convenient even to have an offline version of Maps, but sadly I doubt this is available.

You seem to be making duplicate posts concerning this issue. It's not that simple as Nokia have been removing Nokia Maps application from devices without integral GPS chip as relying solely upon network triangulation for positioning is just too inaccurate, this may explain why it is now missing.

'Nokia maps' in Nokia Asha 309

Nokia has advertised that Asha 309 comes with preloaded 'Nokia maps' but there is not any type of map application. Can I download 'Nokia maps'?

To download official google maps goto google.com from the default browser of your phone, then select google product and download google map.
But recently there is some strange problem using google map which was not before. Now while loading terms and condition page it gives warning message and says: serious error & instruct to restart the app.

Just opening Nokia Maps application with newly formatted memory card should create the necessary folder structure to be recognised by Nokia Suite. You could try copying existing E:\cities and .qf file if present on memory card to folder on your PC for safe keeping and delete these from memory card and re-open Maps and try again to download regional mapping.

Nokia Maps Icon Missing?

Good day everyone.
i have just bought this new Nokia Asha 303 phone and i thought the software installed in the phone is incomplete because i cant seem to find the shortcut for nokia maps. I installed the nokia suite in my pc and check for software updates and it is up to date. I already tried factory reset, but nothing, still the same. Is it possible to restore the missing icon? thanks for any help.

Right after having my new phone I started exploring its possibilities testing applications from Ovi store. At some point I got some problems with an application so I decided it would be a good idea to try a reset... I first try with an app settings reset to defaults (from the s40 Configuration menu, not the Restoring Factory Defaults menu)... right after that I realized I didn't have Nokia Maps icon in any of the lists of installed applications, nor I could found any loader in both file units, phone and memory card, for it... I was not 100% sure the icon vanished after settings reset, but I supposed it, so I thought something went definitely wrong and I decided to try reset to factory defaults as I just started testing the phone so I hadn't any information saved there to lose... what I could not expect it's that a factory reset will not yield the software at the same very state as what I received short time before. In addition to not getting back the Nokia Maps icon, I noticed another difference in the system, I have an Introduction icon in the list of default applications, that triggers a video playback showing the phone basics... now when I push that button, the playback starts but only for the audio, and instead of the video I show a black screen with a NOKIA logo in the center, the same very screen I see when boot up the phone. Hi, my phone is asha 303, without gps...
I need helps about nokia maps and i will put my question here..:
* how can i copy or cut the map from memory to other??
* how make back up to my favorite places on the map so i cant lose them after software update or any other thing??
* is there maps updates,? How i get this updates to my maps??
* the map seem to be slow and hanging while browse it and some times it jump ((i mean hard to control and direct to places))??
* some ways in the map coloured, like some roads are red and some yellow and some gray,, what is the mean of that??

Answer to 3rd Question [ how to know if there's an update available for Nokia Map]
1. You can check if your device has the latest compatible Map data simply by connecting your device to a PC running Nokia Suite and selecting View > Go To > Maps.
2. If you are using Mac, download Map Loader for Mac and then check if there's an available update for Map data (applies only for Maps 3.04 and older, version 3.06 and later not supporting Map Loader for Mac).
3. With Maps 3.06 and later you can check the availability of map data updates and do the update over Wi-Fi (WLAN) connection by selecting:
Maps 3.06:Update > Check for updates.
Maps 3.08 and later:Map Loader > Check for updates.

Nokia map app missing

I have a problem that after i reset my phone to factory setting i found that the nokia map app is missing i try to solve the problem but i could not solve please someone try to resolve this problem

As Asha 305 does not have embedded GPS positioning would rely upon network cell tower triangulation which is pretty ineffectual and for this reason Nokia Maps may have been excluded from later software updates.

Nokia Mail For Exchange on Asha 300 doesn't work w...

I'm hoping someone from Nokia might see this and get your developers to make a tweak to the Nokia Mail For Exchange app for Asha 300 (a S40 phone).
The Microsoft Outlook/Office 365 hosted/cloud-based e-mail service uses usernames in the format [email protected]
Unfortunately the Nokia Mail For Exchange app automatically truncates the Username so as soon as you tap out of the field it becomes just "jane.smith". As a result it fails validation.
This is probably a one line code change which makes perfect sense for users connecting to other variants of Microsoft Exchange, but for those of us on Microsoft's hosted offering it's stopping us getting in.

Nokia maps 1.0 - india maps, Maharashtra and Goa

Hi all,
I want to download india maps and specifically maps of Maharashtra and Goa. I bought a Nokia C2-03 (dual-sim) recently and have been trying to download maps via Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.90 but it has been a failure.
The device itself does not have much memory but do have a memory card. Does anybody know how :-
a. I can download and install the Maharashtra and Goa map in the memory card ?
b. A link from where I can download the map. I did see this link given /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Maps-Data-File-size-discrepancy/m-p/1166517/message-uid/1166517/highligh... but unfortunately it seems for a different version of Nokia maps .
c. Am I correct in assuming its Nokia maps 1.0 . This I came to know via Menu > Maps > Options > About where it says Maps 1.0 www.nokia.com/maps/support

Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately S40 devices use Nokia Maps 1.0 for which available mapping is a lot less detailed; presumably you have inserted memory card and opened Nokia Maps application at least once upon your C2-03 to initialise application? At this point Ovi Suite > Maps should recognise memory card and offer you maps to download but not always so.
That said Series 40 Ovi Maps 2.1 is variable in implementation and if device supplied with local maps installed upon memory card there doesn't seem an issue adding more maps but real issues if no maps with it sometimes.

The theme developer decides which icons the theme replaces and which it doesn't.
However, the theme editor tool may have restrictions in that it does not know of, or allow to change all icons. The theme editor is platform version specific, and does not know of all the individual apps of every phone variant based on a particular platform version. If the theme editor is not aware of all the icons, then the theme developer using the tool has no way of changing it, either.

How to use Nokia maps

I have Nokia 7510 Supernova Model, I would like to know how to use Nokia maps in it. I tried using Navicore Extenal Bluetooth ( Wayfinder), but i couldnt use it. Is there any way to use maps in Nokia.

Provided this isn't a typographic error for 7610 Supernova, unfortunately you cannot use Nokia Maps on your S40 device. You could use application such as Nav4All although you would need to download data with asscociated costs:http://www.nav4all.com/site2/www.nav4all.com/index.php

hello, I am using a nokia 5230 with the latest firmware and nokia maps 3.06 my problem is that when I updated to the last version of maps i was promoted that the old "street maps" will be deleted and i accepted thinking that it would be easy to preload them again.
so now when i try to preload them through nokia suite it just gives me the message that it's looking for the maps on the server, and that goes for endless minutes without anything changing , once it did go though this stage to another one and it was "checking my phone for old maps" and again it just stayed like that, my question is, is there anyway i could download the maps manualy and then just transfare the files to my Sd card?

Ovi Maps and Nokia Maps - do I need both?

I am sure this question has been asked already but I cannot find it having spent some time doing a search.
The question is do I need both or can I dispense with one? If so, with what consequences?
The position is that I tried to update Ovi maps but couldn't because there was insufficient space on drive C, so I thought I would delete it and then I would be able to install the new version. Unfortunately wrong again - still insufficient space on drive C. Hence my question - do I need both maps? Life would be easier just with Nokia maps in the circumstances.

I have I think deleted Ovi Maps but I still have Maps. In fact I am fairly certain I have all the maps I downloaded from OVi Maps. When I run Maps the screen refers to "Ovi Maps". Perhaps I haven't uninstalled Ovi Maps at all although the programme said that I had! Perhaps it is Ovi Maps that is pre-installed.

Ovi maps and Nokia Maps

I have recently downloaded the ovi maps update for free navigation on my 5800 however now I seem to have 2 programs in my installed apps menu, Ovi maps and Nokia maps. This is causing me some problems as my phones built in memory is now completely full and I am unable to do some things as I have ran out of on phone memory space. Which one is the main map software? And also can I uninstall one? If not then can it be installed on a MSD card and if yes how?

As far as I can determine Ovi maps is the mapping software (program) which installs to C (phone memory) and Nokia maps is the map data that you have loaded which I believe are installed to E (mass memory).
I can confirm that you do need both installed.
The problem as far as I can see is that the previous maps versions 3.01 is built into the current firmware (v20 for N97 - not sure for 5800) and installing maps 3.03 does not remove or overwrite the earlier version so you end up with both versions installed and thus the extra memory footprint.
This will remain a problem until a newer firmware is released which will hopefully have maps 3.03 (or later depending when next firmware is released) thus reducing the extra 9 megs or so used.

Nokia Maps - Postcode search is no longer working

Please help!
The is a post on the navigation and GPS section but I wanted to see if anyone on the main forum has experienced the problem, because we cannot find a solution.
Up until the last few days whilst online when I searched for a post code on Nokia Maps the result was the full post code location. When I did the same search offline the result was truncated. ie bp11 4re became bp11 4.
This is pretty useless in trying to locate anything using a post code.
Today I noticed that whether I was online or not, the post code search always produced the shortened result.
I have now searched on line and found nothing save for the post mentioned above. I have performed a hard reset and have the latest firmware for my phone (v12) I also have the latest version of maps v1.2.
Please can someone shed some light on why this search facility has changed. Could it be something to do with the Nokia Server?

The last one suggests that a full postcode search needs an internet connection.
This lead to a solution!
In Maps, under Settings / General / Connection you have a choice of Online or Offline. If you have Offline then the search is limited as described, with the last two postcode characters ignored. If you have Online selected, then it works properly.
So even though Nokia Maps are offline maps, the full postcode search is done on their server.
