Nokia Messaging HTML view on Nokia E61i

I am unable to view emails in HTML format on my Nokia E61i. My Nokia Messaging software version is: 9.7.0.2.
Any advice?
Thanks

Hadimassa,
I am very well aware how to provision the NM accounts accross different Nokia phones. In the case of the E72 (and the N900) provisioning is done through the software on the phone itself, whereby it connects to the NM servers and authenticates the NM credentials provided.
Update: This morning when I switched on my E72, Nokia Messaging started to update again. The only thing I have done with the phone is to test outgoing messages (which worked yesterday but it was still not updating incoming messages). Either this unfrooze NM or someone at Nokia solved the problem server-side.
If anyone from Nokia is reading this, feel free to contact me. NM could be a very cost efficient alternative to BlackBerry BES solutions for small companies and there is quite a lot of feedback I could provide. However, until Nokia provides the ability for an administrator to centrally manage multiple NM accounts, NM cannot compete with BES in any company where there are many users.

  • How to install hindi support in Nokia E61i?

i noticed i can change the language settings on the Nokia E61i to a few languages, but not Hindi.
i would like to user the interface in hindi as well as sms in hindi, how may i do this please?
    thanks
    niyam bhushan

If you mean the language of use then you can find it in settings-phone settings- language settings.
If you want it in writing a message then menu-messages-create message- options-writing language- Hindi.
If it is not present as option then you may first need to set the phone language to Hindi & try again.
If even by that you do not get an option then you need to get the language pack installed at an authorised Nokia Care centre. Please note that if you format the phone or reinstall the firmware the language pack will be removed & you will need to get it installed again.
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

  • Nokia E61i and iSync problem - Please help!

I had the Nokia E62 and I was syncing with my macbook pro without any any problems. Last week I got the Nokia E61i and installed the plug-in for the isync from the nokia website. I have been unable to sync the 2 phones. I have deleted the phones from isync and reset the phones but no luck. I have tried both bluetooth and cable. The isync connects to the phone but give me an error message - "An unexpected error occured. Device 'Nokia E61i' synchronization failed"
Please I need someone to help me resolve this problem.

This Apple Tech Support Document seems to mention exactly your error:
iSync: Error message when synching phone via Bluetooth in Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later

  • Nokia E61i - Mail4Exchange: "System error.Try agai...

    Hi,
I got myself a Nokia E61i recently. I have installed the Mail4Exchange software and I introduced the right settings and email configurations, which I got from the company IT service.
The phone connects to the exchange server, followed by a pop-up message saying "System error. Try again later." When I change the connection from 'unsecure' to 'secure', the message becomes "Error in exchange server. Try again later."
I do not manage to access any emails. I have discussed the issue with my IT service but they are not sure either.
Is anyone familiar with this problem, and do you know what do to about it? Many thanks in advance.

Dear Ryfusz, I would like to know whether you found a solution, or heard from anyone who had?
I would also like to hear from someone from Nokia on this - here we all are on a website called "Nokia connecting people", which is all very well, but many people seem to be affected by this problem of not being able to connect their E61i and other phones to use M4E without getting the message "System Error. Try again later."
So far I can see from the web that people have tried or proposed the following solutions:
    1. Change access point
    2. Remove proxy connection
    3. Check incompatibility with Gmail
    4. Turn off secure connection
    5. Check with organisation IT department
    6. Check Microsoft site http://support.microsoft.com/?ID=817379
    7. Do a hard reset (ie format the internal memory and erase everything)
    8. Get rid of Nokia phone and buy something else.
I so far have tried 1-6 (though 6 was unintelligible to me). What does NOKIA suggest??
    Frustrated, Beijing.

  • Nokia e61i - release date

does anyone know the UK release on O2 for nokia e61i - also does anyone on here know any reviews on it or have tested the phone? is it worth the upgrade from e61 or should i wait to use my upgrade credit for a better handset in 6 months time maybe?Message Edited by mgibbins on 18-May-200710:44 PM

It's all down to subjective opinion of course but as far as mine goes the "i" models are almost never worth the money if you own the first generation handset. The changes they make to the phones always seem to be in this grey area where the changes that have been made are changes you wish you had such as corrections, adaptions and such that make the phone better the second time around, but they are never enough to warrant paying again for the i model.
As a matter of rule I don't buy them unless its my first handset of that type. They do invoke some passion from people as some folks see it as Nokia using the first generation users of the phone as beta testers.
The E61i will probably have very little going for it that you would want to use an upgrade credit on it if you own the E61 unless your completely happy with it and don't want to move on. I recommend you wait for a better or different phone...like the E90. ;-)

    Go to Solution.

    Check here http://europe.nokia.com/A4487159
By the way, it's now called "windows live". It's a pretty handy feature and you can use it for free on WLAN.
That's right people, I'm back. Where have I been? I have been getting a life, away from this electric madness.

  • Nokia E61i & ICQ

Where i can download ICQ-client for Nokia E61i?

This is better and it is free! Best thing about it (which not many chat client softwares do) is that you get an alert on your stand by screen when you receive a message while running in the background, plus it also supports msn, aim and yahoo.

  • Stuck with Headphone Icon on my Nokia E61I

The headphone icon has appeared on my Nokia E61I phone and I cant get rid of it. It means that I cant speak on my phone unless I put it on loud speaker which is quite frankly embarrassing in public places!!! Please help
I have switched off and on the phone, still does not work.
I have completely removed the Battery and switched on the phone and still does not work.
I never use the headset. I don't know how it suddenly appeared and its stuck on the top right whatever I do. Even After changing Profiles of the Phone.
    http://www.webhush.com

    Hi webhush
You didn't get any water in the PopPort connector by any chance? Try cleaning contacts with pencil eraser and inserting headset if you haven't thrown it away and see if any change.
Provided that you backup essential data, you could perform a "hard reset" to eliminate any possible software corruption.
Failing that a visit to a Nokia Care Point is indicated unfortunately.

  • FIRST CHARGING TIME FOR NOKIA E61i BATTERY

Hi everybody, please i like to know how long i can charge my Nokia E61i before use. I mean the first charge.
    Thanks.

    hello darry,
yes, that's what the vendors use to suggest me, otherwise the battery may not reach it's full potential. I had no problems with batteries till now.
My E65 also has a Li-Polymer battery, I first charged it for 14 hours (they reccomend 12 to 16) and it works for 6-7 days in normal use (Bluetooth and WLAN off, about 40 min talking/day + 50 sms's/day + occasional web browsing via WLAN)
I think mine really lasts longer than some of the people who posted here some problems regarding battery life.

  • Hellp on Nokia E61i associating with Cisco WLC 4402

I met some problem with associate Nokia's dual mode mobile phone E61i with Cisco WLC 4402, hope someone can help me on it:
    I setup a VOICE WLAN in 4402(v5.0.148), Layer2 security is WPA1+WPA2, Key management using 802.1x, WPA1 policy enable both TKIP and AES, Radius server using ACS engine(v4.1.1.23)(enable PEAP-MSCHAPv2);
I can use my laptop to join this WLAN(my laptop configure with PEAP/MSCHAPv2, WPA-TKIP, not validate server certificate), but can't let E61i join it, each time it will remind me “unable to connect, WPA authenticate failed).
In E61i, I select WPA/WPA2 as WLAN security mode, enable EAP-PEAP, under EAP-PEAP, I enable EAP-MSCHAPv2; however under Cipher, there's a lot of options such as “RSA,3EDS,SHA”, “RSA,AES,SHA”, but there's no TKIP, I have tried to enable all of them and tried only enable those items which include AES, but I failed each time with the same reminder “unable to connect, WPA authenticate failed”. I checked ACS's failed log, there's no record; In 4402, there also have no record.
If I change the security to open or static WEP for VOICE WLAN, then the E61i can connect to the WLAN.
I think the problem maybe relate to encryption or certificate, right now I just do the test in lab, not in customer's real environment, so I use ACS to generate a self signed certificate and installed it in ACS.
Pls. help to point me what I need to adjust to make it work. Thanks!

    Hello,
CCKM Key Management mode on Nokia E61i phone can be used
against Cisco LWAPP AP's with TKIP encryption
Nokia E61i (and other E-series WLAN enabled phones) are supporting CCKM key management method with both dynamic WEP and TKIP ciphers.
On the phone configuration, 802.1X security mode needs to be in use in order to enable CCKM support. WPA/WPA2 security mode on the phone is dedicated to standards based WPA and WPA2 methods and it does not allow usage of proprietary CCKM key management method.
Phone's 802.1X security mode does not mean that phone would only support dynamic WEP encryption method in this mode although in contexts term "802.1X" may be attached to pure dynamic WEP (legacy / pre WPA era)security methods.
802.1X security mode can be seen on Nokia Eseries phones as sort of an "everything with EAP based authentication is allowed" mode, meaning that following key management and cipher configurations are supported:
    - WPA-Enterprise  = WPA Key Management (EAP based authentication) with TKIP encryption
    - WPA2-Enterprise = WPA2 Key Management (EAP based authentication) with AES encryption
    - Mixed WPA/WPA2-Enterprise = I.e. WPA/WPA2 Mode Migration WPA2 Key Management (EAP based authentication) with AES (for unicast data) and TKIP (for multicast data) ciphers
    - 802.1X dynamic WEP = legacy (pre-WPA era) 802.1X based dynamic WEP (EAP based authentication with dynamic WEP encryption)
    Supported:
    - CCKM with WEP = CCKM Key Management (EAP based authentication) with dynamic WEP encryption
    - CCKM with TKIP = CCKM Key Management (EAP based authentication) with TKIP encryption
    Not supported:
    - CCKM with AES = CCKM Key Management (EAP based authentication) with AES encryption
Please note that CCKM-AES mode (CCKM Key Management with AES cipher) is not working properly due to some incompatibilities between Cisco and Nokia implementations thus it must not be listed as a supported combination on the current Nokia E-series devices. We are also seeing CCKM-Fast
Re-authentication failures with Cisco autonomous AP's when AES encryption is used although initial authentication to autonomous AP's is successful. Nokia is currently working with Cisco to get CCKM-AES based authentications and roaming working properly with both LWAPP and autonomous Cisco AP's.
Also note that Nokia E-Series does not support Cisco proprietary CKIP/CMIC encryption/data integrity methods. CKIP/CMIC is supported at least by Cisco autonomous AP's and it seems to be available also
at least on LWAPP AP version 4.1.171.0.
CCKM on E-Series devices has been tested against Cisco LWAPP (ver. 4.1.171.0) and it works when TKIP encryption is in use (WPA Policy + TKIP encryption in Cisco LWAPP configuration terms).
In practice this means Cisco LWAPP is configured in a following manner: WLAN -> Edit -> Security->
    Layer 2 Security = WPA+WPA2
    WPA+WPA2 Parameters:
    -WPA Policy = enabled
-WPA Encryption = TKIP enabled, AES disabled
    -WPA2 policy = disabled
    -Auth.Key Mgmt = CCKM

I was trying to update my device online, through this website, but unfortubately, my phone brwoser kept on telling me to install flash,

    Hey.
Many years ago i bought nokia E61i and i left it to stay. Now i wanna use it but i can,t. I tried many things: 1. hard reset (1,*, Okey button and power button,) . I have allso tried mastercode. Maybe someone knows other options to get off the security code.

    > the ONLY solution is to get the code reset at Nokia Care.
How does Nokia Care reset the code? Key in a special reset code, shortcut somewhere on the motherboard or send a reset command via USB? Or speak "I am Nokia" to the phone?? :-))

  • Nokia E61i battery problems

    Hi.
    I have a nokia e61i.
Recently the battery goes down every  day between 3:30 pm and 5 pm.
I changed the battery and the same problem occured.
For some time now I can see a cell indicator next to the battery indicator on the right.
Can anyone tell me the reason for the above two issues?

Remove the battery for a couple of minutes.. Insert and try charging..
You may also try thru' another Plug point for charging..
If problem remains then it may be with the Charger or the Phone.. Try another compatible / recommended charger if you have access to it.
BTW was the battery totally dead when you stared charging ? If so, leave it on charging..The battery bars may be visible only after a few minutes of charging in that case...

  • Nokia E61i shortcut keys problem

    Hello
I have Nokia E61i and have a problem with shortcut keys.
My contact, mail and own key stops working after some time. I need to reboot the device to get the functionality back. Does any one know how to fix the problem? It is very annoying to reboot the device every time the keys stop working.
I have the latest firmware loaded
    Version: 1.0633.22.05
Please let me know if you need additional info.

In my case, I have the latest firmware.  However, I think I found what is causing my problem.  I read in another thread somewhere that 3rd party alarm programs cause the problem.  Sure enough, when I disabled my 3rd party alarms, my buttons remaind usable.  When I set a 3rd party alarm off, the buttons became nonfunctional.
Whether this is a bug in the alarm program or in the system function calls of the Symbian OS, I don't know; however, I do at least know how to keep my buttons functional.  Now only if this bug could be fixed...
