Nokia messaging send issue

Latest version of Nokia Messaging on N97. Following delvery email failures comes in after send of each email:
500: Failure - sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building
failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderE xception: unable
to find valid certification path to requested target
I tried both pop and imap modes. The original mail client works fine. 

Ah, glad I found this post. Bit annoying that I can't securely talk to my own mail server what I built when trying to send email, but it works fine when receiving securely from exactly the same machine. Would be nice to be able import the certificate during setup of my email, some Nokia-side Cert management thing.

  • Nokia Messaging send failing with new certificate

    I got a certificate update from my mail provider (IMAP business mail) and since then have been unable to send any emails from my Nokia E72. Reading mail is fine but everytime I send I get a bounce with the following message:

    Everything still works fine with my blueyonder email (branded google mail).
    I think the problem therefore is that the certificate update from the mail provider isn't trusted by the nokia messaging server and that I don't seem to have a way to tell it to trust the new certificate (which I had to do on my laptop to access the same mail). ALthough I don't understand why I can still receive ok.....

  • IPhone4s OS6 Upgrade - Message Send Issues

    I have Iphone4s and upgraded to os6 and have found an issue with Messages.
    Bofore the upgrade I used to send sms messages by going to Messages>New Messsages and select contacts.  Now when I when I try this to send from message the message snd fails.
    However if I go to Contacts>Select Contact>Send Message to the same contact it works.  This only happened after the upgade.
    This shows there in no network issues, no problem with the specific contacts but sending an SMS from Messabes is different from sending a Message from Contacts.
    Has anyone esle had this problem

    Hi,
    I have tried closing down all apps, checking for upgraded, resetting all network settings etc.  I have also tried the hard boot.  None of the above help.  Attached is the message I get when I send via the messages.
    However, if I go into Contacts>Select Same Contact and Send Message it works.  I have noticed that when you use this message it goes as an imessage.

  • Messages+ Sending Issues (HTC One M7)

    I have been having trouble sending text messages when my WiFi is connected. Usually no trouble when it isn't connected. Message says sending for a long time and sometimes it sends but doesn't say it was sent. What can I do to fix this?

    I have 4 bars (sometimes 5) and this is still occurring. I tried restarting the phone numerous times after the update and just plain turning it off and on. I am using the factory text messaging app, and every text I send I get the "converting to MMS" banner. I then have the grayed out message symbol with the clock in the corner for at least 10 minutes. Then I get the red triangle of death !!

    Nokia E52 Message Sender Name/Field is not updated automatically on Firmware 054.003!
    Issue 1: Message Sender Name/Field is not updated automatically after changes made in contacts.
    e.g. Message send by Mr. A is displayed in inbox, however when same contact changed to Mrs. AB in contacts does not update sender name/field inside inbox. Sender name remains Mr. A physically on handset. However the changes made to contacts and Message Sender Name/Field is updated automatically on use of Nokia PC Suite 7.1.60.0 and Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290 but not on phone.

  • Unable to send emails via Nokia Messaging

    I have had the device for about 3 months and I have never had problems sending emails before, however over the last 3 days when I try and send an email it just sits in my outbox and then after a while it says failed.
    I receive emails fine so this is baffling me.
    I've noticed a similar problem was addressed however that is specific to getting an error 500 message and I don't get that. I tried the work through anyway but it still didn't solve the issue.
    Any help will be very much appreciated.

    hey man i have the same problem, i can't upload pictures on facebook for some reason, but it works perfectly on other wifis .
    and i remember having the same problem with my nokia messaging, here is what i did to fix it : delete the account from your phone, than go to emal.nokia.com, delete than radd your email accounts, than readd your nokia messaging account on your phones .

  • Nokia Messaging - cannot send emails...

    Hi,
    I have recently got an E71 on the 3 network.
    a week or so ago i installed nokia messaging (email.nokia.com) to use with my @ntlworld.com email address.
    I believe i was receiving and sending messages ok at this point.
    the other day i tried to send an email and almost immediately received a message to say it had failed to send
    from : Mail Delivery Subsystem, subjectelivery Status Notification (Failure)
    etc etc.
    And I get this each time (and obviously the email doesn't send)
    I have tried uninstalling from phone, deleting the email address from my account on email.nokia.com, then re-seting up agin, but still have the same problem.
    Any ideas?
    Is it a problem with my phone/the network/ntlworld/nokia messaging?

    Hello I had the same problem a few months ago the way I solved this issue was.
    1. Go to Http://email.nokia.com 2. login and click "edit setting" 3. next to the affected account(s) click "change server settings" 4. remove/delete the "outgoing email server" AND "outgoing server port"
    5. click "Save" ( X ) out and try to send a email.
    This should fix the problem it sure did for me

    Hi All,
    i  use the the nokia email messaging app on my Nokia N95 8gb, and when i send an email from my tiscalli  email address to another it do not get to the other email address, but if i send from my hotmail account it sends to the other email addresses ok, would any one know why this is , but if i use my built in email client to send email from my tiscali account it works fine from that one

    Hi I have the following issues with my Nokia E7-00: BEFORE ANNA UPDATE: 1. With MFE on Hotmail: Only Inbox will sync. Other folders will not sync. Contacts and Calendar sync well, no problem. If i send an email from my device, i receive that email, it is there on the Sent folder on the server, but not on my device. 2. With Nokia Messaging: Only Inbox and Sent folders will sync. Junk and Draft folders will not sync. AFTER ANNA UPDATE: 1. With MFE on Hotmail: Same as BEFORE ANNA UPDATE. 2. With Nokia Messaging: When i configure Hotmail / Gmail / Yahoo, it says "cannot enable the service that gives you full access to the features..." Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

    Have you tried to check whether the synchronization success or fail?
    To check it:
    Open the Nokia Messaging Email screen
    Open 'Options' menu (left soft key)
    Choose 'Connection Info'
    Some info displayed are:
    last sync date and time, last sync status (successful or failed), last successful sync date and time

  • My Nokia message fails to send after reinstall of ...

    Hi there,
    I'm posting to ask whether anybody has encountered this issue and whether anyone knows of any fixes to fix this issue. After doing a reinstall of the phone's firmware as mentioned in another post on the forum, the My Nokia message keeps failing to send and keeps getting stuck in my Outbox, I'm able to send other messages in which some contacts are able to receive them whereas some of them can't for some strange reason and don't arrive in which I am trying to resolve this problem. The SIM I currently have in the phone is a Lycamobile micro SIM which is converted into a full sized SIM using a micro to full SIM converter, could this be the culprit of the problem? I've tried this method for many months and have only encountered 1 person not receiving a message for me but this was a one off though and hasn't happened for a couple of months, this was when I was test trialing Vodafone as I currently own many free SIMs and want to try them all out on the various phones I currently own over 2 to 3 years in order to test signal coverage across many places I travel on a regular basis such as Manchester, Carlisle etc. Your continuous help would be much appreciated.

    I checked the signal strength on my phone screen and it has full bars displaying, I have even moved to another area to get better reception and still the same happens as before. I've also checked the message centre settings on my phone with my network operator and they are correct. I have also sent a text message to my own phone number and the text was sent and received fine. I do recall Vodafone sending out a text on Tuesday to one of my Vodafone mobile numbers (presume the same applies to all Vodafone numbers) saying "We're upgrading the network in your area. This means there may be around 2-3 days disruption over the next 6 weeks. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and we'll let you know when the work's complete. For more information on the network in your area, see our coverage checker at http://vdfn.co/pe5ka". I know the person who I have been trying to send texts to is on Vodafone and lives in a rural area where she needs to use a Vodafone Signal box to provide a phone signal for her phone, it could be possibly be this causing problems but the weird thing is though that I am able to send texts from my Lycamobile number to one of my Vodafone mobile numbers and from my Vodafone mobile number to my Lycamobile and both send and receive texts fine whereas if I send her texts from my Lycamobile number to her mobile number she doesn't receive them at all even though the phone says they were sent properly i.e. disappear from Outbox and generate copies in the sent items whereas if she sends texts from her mobile number to my Lycamobile number I receive them fine?
    With regards to the My Nokia message problem I think the 84000 number no longer works as Microsoft have been making changes to their servers including the old Nokia servers where they have been turning off SSL 3.0 and enabling TLS 1.0 instead due to a number of security breaches happening on various websites this year in particular as I have noticed this on quite a number of websites and prevented me from logging into Nokia Suite 3.8 on a few of our PCs, I resolved this by using the following link http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Online-services-fr​om-Nokia-Nokia/Can-t-sign-in-to-Nokia-account-via-​... I'll confirm whether the 84000 number works for My Nokia messages as soon as I have sometime to test this on my other Nokia 5230 after doing a soft reset, hard reset and reinstall.

    my sim card is unable to allow message sending from most of the nokia 6080 mobile phones.but,my sim can send messages from all other mobile phones in the usual manner.i have sent my cell to one of the nokia care centres(job sheet number:319434038/070519/20
    ).what they are telling me is that the phone is working fine with their sim card.so i am in a dual situation----my cell doesnt respond to my sim,but my sim is working with other phones.in such a one to one sim-mobile intercompatibility problem,what am i supposed to do?my warranty is still on.can i get a new cell in return?please help.

    Well u must have moved ur settings.. i would sugest a format or factory reset.. its only the problem that u must have changed ur messeage no or something..

    Got new Nokia 206, inserted sim powered up got a message saying need to send message to Nokia and may be charged (no idea what is in the message), checked PAYG balance and I have been charged £1 for the privelige = not happy.
    Is this a subsidy to nokia? in order to use the phone we need you to send a premium rate SMS?
    Can anyone elaborate what this message was (not saved in sent messages) and why Nokia are sending to premium rate number?

    Well its just an activation message which helps Nokia in activating the warranty of your phone and other services such as Nokia Life.
    But that's optional, it also tells you that premium sms rates will apply. So its your mistake if you didn't read it properly and continued.
    Make sure you don't do that the next time. Skip it if it asks your permission to send an sms. Anyways, it won't bother you anymore

  • Nokia 5530 messaging update issue

    not sure if it was mentioned before bu ive experienced a new issue (new to me). i updated my firmware to v20 and then got an update of nokia messaging (to version 10.1). after the update was applied, when i reply to any text message i have to wait about 20 seconds to start typing a message. it's HUGE delay! it was ok before the update, i'm not sure if it's firmware's fault or messaging 10.1 update's fault. any ideas?

    Thanks for your post and welcome to the Nokia forums!
    Please hard reset again and update your phone's software to get rid of the errors. 
    Make sure you make a back up first with Nokia Suite before you hard reset the device. You can do this by going to Tools > Back up. Don't tick the Settings box when doing so as this will backup the errors.
    Once the phone has rebooted, connect it to Nokia Suite again and click on the green arrow to update the software. If no update is available you will be able to reinstall the current one, this option is displayed in blue.
