i'm having the same problem... ever since nokia upgraded pc suite a few months ago, and i had to get a new version due to a problem with my computer, i can't put music onto my phone using the music manager 2.0. so i've been just copying them in their mp3 formats but of course it's alot more space that could be saved if i could have them in the AAC+ pr M4A formats.
i checked out download.com (they offer alot of free to try and free in general programs) and i searched for mp3 to m4a
i found this program " Abcc Free Music to MP3 AMR AAC OGG Converter 3 "
I downloaded it, which only took maybe 5 minutes, and then installed it (another maybe 2-3 minutes)
I'm trying the program now and.... IT WORKS.
i just converted about 6 pm3's to m4a's and it took about 3-4 minutes. try it !

  • Problem with Nokia Music Manager 2.0 converting mp...

    Hi everyone!
I have a problem using the Nokia Music Manager 2.0. I want to convert some mp3-files into "Mobile Optimized Format". If a start conversion it fails and says Track cannot be converted because it is already in the target format or file format is not supported. However, the files worked on my previous computer with WinXP. Now I'm using Vista Business. The conversion will always proceed to 50% and break then. I have the feelng it's a problem with the rights to write the new file. Running it with administrative rights or in compatibility mode did not either.
    Can anyone provide help?
    Thanks!

  • Nokia Music Manager - help please

Hi, sorry if this may have been covered previously, I have looked but couldn't find anything relevant.
My problem is that I save all my music on my pc in one folder and I have about 600 tracks.
I installed Nokia Music Manager recently and now when I open my music folder I can see that approx 50 of my previously mp3 tracks are now of file type "Nokia Music Manager" and not mp3. I have tried converting them to back to mp3 using Itunes which works but in my music folder they still show as NMM.
I don't have a problem with them showing NMM in itunes as I can update my ipod fine, it's just when I want to burn an mp3 disc using Nero that it doesn't work - Nero can't find these NMM files in my music folder and it's doing my head in.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Please explain your problem more detailed.

  • Drag and drop album art in Nokia Music Manager

Hi there, I am just making my first steps with the Nokia Music Manager (NMM). After converting my music files to the m4a format I want to add the album art. There is a little field on the bottom of the screen of the NMM called "Drop graphic here" (don't no exactly the wording - I have the german version). I have tried different ways but nothing happens. What do I do wrong?
    Kind regards

    Hi.
Had the same problem and couldn't find anything anywhere, just stupid workarounds using wmp & itunes and **bleep**.
    Solution is very simple
You can only drag'n'drop album art onto songs which are in 'My Collection'.
So... Copy your mp3's to the 'My Collection' view and it should work.
This also enables the 'Edit' function in Nokia Music Manager which lets you edit tags aswell as album art.
    Hope this helps...

  • Nokia Music Manager taking over

    Since I downloaded the latest version of PC Suite last week some of my music files now say this in their properties;
Type of file: Nokia Music Manager
    Opens with: Windows Media Player
Why has PC Suite commandered some of my music files and how can I undo this. My phone is the 6230i and I am running XP with SP2, everything otherwise works fine with no problems. Thanks Mark

I did this but the files still have the Nokia symbol next to them and they still say that Nokia Music Manager is the file they should be opened with

  • N95 Nokia Music Manager M4A "noises"

I use Nokia Music Manager 2.o to convert to M4A format and play on a N95 (firmware 20.0.0.15).
The settings are: M4A,56 kbps, automatic tempo calculation.
The sound is good enough for me, but some random annoyng "blitzs" occur.
If I use other kind of conversion, for instance, AAC,128kbps, the "blitzs" dont appear.
    What`s wrong with M4A format??

    Hi harryp
And I really thought already that i am the only one having this problem. But you learnt me better, thanks ;-)
To solve the problem I even deinstalled the program, set back the computer and deleted everything connected to the music manager in the registry. I just tried everything I know about in computing. As it still couldn´t convert the music files a second time I contacted Nokia Helpline. They confirmed that files can be converted only once, the reason why I still don´t know.
After weeks of trying I gave up and took my CD´s to convert directly from them. That worked, even that is exactly the same music as I got on my computer. In the meantime I assume it might be because of copy protection.
You said you can´t hear a big difference between the two formats. Well, I could. Otherwise I would have done the same as you, but the aac files just sounded too compressed, it was really far from the original. The reason might be better headphones I used with the N95 than the original ones.
Now I still got MP3 files on my computer of wich I haven´t any CD´s. Now I can transfer them as MP3 files which requires a lot space or convert them to the normal aac format which sounds awful. Last possible solution: I download the same songs from internet and try to convert them. Hope that works.
If ever anybody comes up with a solution to the mentioned problem, please post it right here!!!
    Good luck!
PS: Nokia, please make a second convertion possible or give a reason why it doesn´t work at least.

  • Nokia Music Manager crashes when converting MP3s

Nokia Music Manager is driving me crazy.
First of all, if i try to convert all the files together, it crashes after converting the first file.
If i try to convert each file one by one, it crashes on many of the files and i again have to search for the files and continue the conversion.
    Why so many problems?

    Hi people,
A quick update on what I've found re this issue recently.
I totally uninstalled all the PC-Suite & add-ons & then ran an app. from the nokia site called PC-Suite cleaner to get rid of all the left overs typically left behind during uninstalls. Then re-installed the latest (7.0.9.2) version from a new download.
I had noticed that immediately before the crash, Vista came up with a message that an appliocation had caused a change to the default colour scheme (????) and tracked this to Quicktime. So I installed the latest version of quicktime.
    After all this, ....
.... the problem is exactly the same and now the other (possibly related) issue of the "All music" section (containing found music from a search) disappears as soon as the OK (tick) or close (cross) button is clicked (which makes the other issue irrelevant, as there are no tracks to convert).
In the meantime, I have highlighted this issue to Nokia in one of their online surveys & plan to raise it dirrectly with customer support in the next few days.

  • Nokia Music Manager shuts down immediately after o...

Hi again, the music manager still shuts down straight away even after i've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. I have no idea why!
    pc suite version: version 6.83.14.1
    connectivity cable drivers: 6.83.9.0
    solution : 7.7.10.0
Right now I'm unable to upload or organise any music because it shuts down immediately.
    Thanks

Your best solution is to use some other tool to rip the music, then use File Transfer (USB mass storage) to drag and drop. It's much faster than using PC Suite.
i-Tunes allows you also to rip into AAC (m4a) and that works with N91.
I've tested WMP 9 and WMP10 (now beta testing WMP11) and they all work differently but work with N91 (both WMA and MP3 formats)
WInamp also rips into formats that are supported in N91.
If you don't want to pay for the encoder, use Audiograbber. It's great for Mp3
Is there a reason why you want to use Nokia Music Manager?

  • Nokia music manager problems with Nokia 6230 model...

Hello. Recently I installed the newer version of nokia PC-Suite, the version 6.8.22. I have a nokia 6230 model HS-12 with HS-3 handsFree attached. Make the connection via Bluetooth (SMC USB Bluetooth) over a Windows XP SP2 system. The connection works fine.
The problem arrives with the new MusicManager software.
First, the playlists that this program creates, generates a error in mi phone. It says "Invalid tracklist". Surfing the web, the problem was that MusicManager generates the playlist entries (in the phone) refers to C:\ and D:\ (this for the MMC), when the phone internally works with unities A:\ and B:\. Changing "manually" the playlist it works, so if any people with design responsabilities read this, please take note.
Second, when convert my .MP3 files into .AAC files, the program converts the files into a .AAC but in MONO !! The music only sound in one channel, when the .MP3 is full stereo. Really, the conversion is in Stereo, but only converts one channel. The other remains muted. I have no idea of this problem. I listen the "mono" files in any Windows player, even at the phone.
If any people can help me, or have similar problems, or need more information please make a reply.
    Thanks.

    Hi
The tracklist stuff with 6230 (Ive owned a 6230 before) is a very difficult procedure, because it is not a drag and drop process from PC to phone. You have to giggle and dive onto the Audio Manager app in PC Suite where you have to find the Playlist folder in your phone memory and place all playlists there to be able to be recognized by the phone. Simple drag and drop will not work (like the m3u is in the MMC).
About your mono problem, I haven't checked out this feature of Music Manager because I still think its purely buggy even of the newer features and new face it has now. Better use other music software to transcode your MP3's such as dbpoweramp's Music Converter software (its free trial for 30 days, after that the MP3 encoding and Power Pack features are useless, if you download other codecs, you can use them after the trial.)
    cheers.
The world might be a better place if you were I.

  • Nokia Music Manager Problem

So I scanned for music on my computer and the program populated the list however it only populated the Album, Artist, Genre, Length, and Size field for only 1/4 of the music on the list, the others are left blank. I checked the tags using mp3tag and the information is all there. What do I do?
Also is there another program I can use to get the music on my phone? Is itunes possible?
    Thanks

  • Nokia Music with 5800 Connection Problems

    Hi All,
Trying to update music from my PC to my 5800XM with Nokia Music 1.2
When I connect using the USB cable and I select any of the 4 connction options, it tells me that I have selected the wrong connection type, but not which type to select.
I have to transfer the music manually either by removing the MicroSD and inserting into my laptop or via USB connection to my PC. This, of course, doesn't transfer the album covers, which is part of the reason for using Nokia Music.
Also transferring MP4 movies doesn't work using Windows/not via OVI.
    Regards,
    Mark

dropping the phone would result in hardware damage and hardware damage would be obvious. cracked screen, phone constantly rebooting, etc etc.
What i have problem with is this, let's suppose dropping the phone NEVER caused the underlying issue, nokia care can turn around and say, you dropped it, it's your fault, but what if it was not? how exactly does nokia prove otherwise, part of the testing of the phones is to test stuff like being dropped, why else do they have machines which simulate this? the fact is phones are supposed to take a little punishemnet, just because the phone shows signs of it being dropped should not auto matically qualifiy it to being void, plenty of other eletronics out there, torches, mp3, phones can take a beating much more than she did and anyone else and warrenty not be void, this is just a cheap excuse to make more money and not repair the phone.
