IM USEING NOKIA MUSIC MANGER ON N95
PLEASE HELP.. DNT KNOW WHAT IM DOING WRONG?. : (

Actually there's no problem at all with your PC suite. You only have to configure it properly. 1st go to options then settings. Go to "Location of My Collection" and browse the folder you want your m4a to be saved. After that, go to "Conversion" tab and choose m4a/48kbps (cool!) and "Convert automatically" . After this, scan the mp3, wma, etc.. and then convert on the "File" option. The m4a songs that you have converted will go to the folder you selected or browsed on the "Location of My Collection".. Hope this helps. I have a 512mb ext mem and have around 350 m4a songs for this. Cool!

  • Music coming up as "other" - file corruption

    Hello,
Im one of the unfortunate people who's ipod has had a file corruption and all the music is coming up as "other".
Im away from my main comp that has all my music, and using a laptop. When I first plugged it in I made a restore point just in case. Now I've used that restore point (like many threads have suggested) but it hasn't worked! I can't really just start again as all my apps and music are saved onto the other computer that I cant get to. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Ok, I ended up using a free program called iphonebrowser, having read about it on this site:
    http://iphonetouch.blorge.com/2008/05/09/how-to-get-music-off-an-ipod-touch-ipho ne-in-windows/
So I copied all my music (was only 5GB) and then plugged my ipod touch in and am just transferring it all back. Obviously this is fine as I only had a small amount, but I lost my playlists as well. Any different ideas would be appreciated!

  • Nokia Music (Software) - Can't import files

    Hi
I'm having trouble importing music with Nokia Music (Version 1.2.20226.01). The files are in a folder on my Windows desktop, but for some reason when I try to import them into Nokia Music, it doesn't see them.
Even stranger is the fact that the files play through Nokia Music, but I cant seem to import them into the PC Collection.
Has anyone had a similar problem or can anyone suggest what the problem might be?
    Thanks

I'm experiencing this problem for the 2nd time now. The first time I tried everything I could think of and ended up contacting nokia support... this is the solution I was given:
I would suggest that you kindly uninstall Nokia Music application from your PC by following the steps below:
The Nokia Music installation is shown in:
Add/Remove programs listings within Control Panel of Windows XP (Classic View)
Both of these locations can be navigated to by pressing Windows Key + R > enter: appwiz.cpl
Within the list that shows all of the non-OS (Operating System) installed programs on the PC, there will be entry for Nokia Music. Select this entry, then select "Remove" from the options to the right. After the uninstallation process has succeeded, you may be prompted to restart your PC, please do so. Kindly note that this process will remove the Nokia Music application only. It will not remove any music content downloaded from the service.
Once removed from the PC, delete or rename the MDataStore.db3 file in C:/documents and settings/<username>/local settings/application data/nokia data store/database. Then reinstall the Nokia Music client again and attempt to download the music content.
NOTE: The <username> will be the Windows username used by customer.
    Steps to locate the MDataStore.db3:
    C:/documents and settings/<username>/local settings/application data/nokia data store/database
Please select Tools>folder options>view> show hidden files and folders (from windows explorer). Kindly reboot PC after deleting the MDataStore.db3 file.
Before reinstalling Nokia Music client, please note the following:
    1) If security settings are set too high, the Nokia Music client may not have installed properly.
In Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites, and set the default level to Low.
    2) If you are using internet security or firewall, such as Norton Internet Security, Panda or Zone Alarm, they may block the Active X control from running. Check the program configurations, and lower the overall security settings to medium/low
    3) It is recommended that you add Nokia domain (*.nokia.com) as a trusted site in your firewall.
    4) Kindly ensure that your Internet connection is stable. After the above steps are followed, please try again to download Nokia Music client. You can refer to the link below to download and install Nokia Music client:
    http://www.nokia.com.sg/A41201680
    It worked for me - hope you guys have the same result;

Error msg reads: "unable to apply theme. Corrupted"
    Thanks,
    Vaughan
If you are using Series 40 Theme Studio V2.2, it creates themes for S40 handsets using feature pack 2, and as far as can tell the 6101 uses an earlier feature pack, even after firmware upgrade.
Try downlading Series 40 Theme Studio V1.2, themes created with that version should be perfectly compatible.

  • Nokia music not playing my files

    Good day,
I'd like some help with this:
Nokia Music won't play any files on my pc. It was working fine before but I've recently had my pc rebuilt from a crash. I installed nokia pc suite then Nokia Music after that then it scanned my pc for music files and added them to its library but when I try to play, it shows the small triangle with the ! symbol and doesn't play.
    Thanks.
    o'rume

I'm having a very similiar problem. But in my case the mp3 files play fine, but the m4a music doesn't play at all and I instead get a triangle.
Which is very odd, cause I just ripped my favorite CD to 128 Kbps AAC(.m4a) but it simply doesn't work. But when I ripped it to mp3, it does work. But I don't want it as mp3 files since the AAC compression is superior.
Oh, and m4a files that I ripped with Nokia Music play fine in other software, like VLC Media Player and foobar2000. It's just Nokia Music that can't play the files it ripped itself.

  • Corrupted mp3 files

I have two Macs running Leopard (10.5.1) and every time I copy an mp3 file over the network from one to the other, the mp3 file gets corrupted somehow. Basically, the mp3 will sound fine on the Dual G4 but once moved to the Powerbook via the internal network, it will loop random segments of the song in an unexplainable way. I've tried this over and over with tons of different mp3s and have the same result every time.
However, I can take the exact same mp3 file and upload it to my page online and when I download it to the Powerbook, the mp3 file works perfectly. I really can't figure out the source of the mp3 file corruption here... network transfers get corrupted but downloads from the personal web space are fine. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

What exactly is wrong with them?

  • Nokia Music Manager - help please

Hi, sorry if this may have been covered previously, I have looked but couldn't find anything relevant.
My problem is that I save all my music on my pc in one folder and I have about 600 tracks.
I installed Nokia Music Manager recently and now when I open my music folder I can see that approx 50 of my previously mp3 tracks are now of file type "Nokia Music Manager" and not mp3. I have tried converting them to back to mp3 using Itunes which works but in my music folder they still show as NMM.
I don't have a problem with them showing NMM in itunes as I can update my ipod fine, it's just when I want to burn an mp3 disc using Nero that it doesn't work - Nero can't find these NMM files in my music folder and it's doing my head in.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Please explain your problem more detailed.

  • C5: simply copying mp3-files via pc and usb-cable

I used an USB-cable and copied _folders_ with mp3-files in the music folder. The files are not found, when I try to play them. Then I copied 1 mp3-file directly under the music folder and the mp3-file could be played, but the ID3-tags were not recognized. The tag is a id3v2.4 with an UTF8-charset. • Is it possible to copy the iTunes meta data to the mp3 files themselves?

I have recently began using MS Windows 8. As a long time user of iTunes, I have a very large and well organised library.
The music app built into MS Windows 8 is something which I would like to start using. Yet, it builds the music database from the mp3 files themselves; which after using iTunes for so long contain little (zero) information to describe each file.
Is it possible, to transfer the meta data stored in my iTunes library and save it to the mp3 files themselves - so that when I open the files in another media player, it contains the same descriptive information?
    In advance, thanks.

Normally any meta data you edit in iTunes is copied to the tags, although iTunes doesn't always update things properly if the files in question have two or more embedded tags. You can however move the entire library without losing any information as follows.
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • N95 Nokia Music Manager M4A "noises"

I use Nokia Music Manager 2.o to convert to M4A format and play on a N95 (firmware 20.0.0.15).
The settings are: M4A,56 kbps, automatic tempo calculation.
The sound is good enough for me, but some random annoyng "blitzs" occur.
If I use other kind of conversion, for instance, AAC,128kbps, the "blitzs" dont appear.
    What`s wrong with M4A format??

    Hi harryp
And I really thought already that i am the only one having this problem. But you learnt me better, thanks ;-)
To solve the problem I even deinstalled the program, set back the computer and deleted everything connected to the music manager in the registry. I just tried everything I know about in computing. As it still couldn´t convert the music files a second time I contacted Nokia Helpline. They confirmed that files can be converted only once, the reason why I still don´t know.
After weeks of trying I gave up and took my CD´s to convert directly from them. That worked, even that is exactly the same music as I got on my computer. In the meantime I assume it might be because of copy protection.
You said you can´t hear a big difference between the two formats. Well, I could. Otherwise I would have done the same as you, but the aac files just sounded too compressed, it was really far from the original. The reason might be better headphones I used with the N95 than the original ones.
Now I still got MP3 files on my computer of wich I haven´t any CD´s. Now I can transfer them as MP3 files which requires a lot space or convert them to the normal aac format which sounds awful. Last possible solution: I download the same songs from internet and try to convert them. Hope that works.
If ever anybody comes up with a solution to the mentioned problem, please post it right here!!!
    Good luck!
PS: Nokia, please make a second convertion possible or give a reason why it doesn´t work at least.

  • Nokia 101 is not playing half my MP3 files

Bought a new Nokia 101 couple days ago.
Installed an SD card with several MP3 files (mostly audio books, some music). All these files play without a hitch on all devices I'v tried them on - right from bare basic phones, smartphones to comps.
Bit I find that a approx half of them won't play on the Nokia 101!. Error message displayed - "File format not supported. Please select another song".
Discovered that this phone has a ridiculous limitation of not being able to play MP3 files of bitrate lower than 32 kbps. So checked all the files and after eleminating the < 32 kbps files, it is still not playing about half the files that are well above 32 kbps. The other half or is, it plays well. So its not like the MP3 player is totally broken.
What could be the issue? Please help, as I need the phone to play these files if it is to be of any use to me.
Quite disappointed with Nokia, as no other phone or player has such issues with playing anything.

@Srikant - Are you sure? Nokia Care told me on phone that it can be done; and asked me to bring the phone. My concern is that I currently don't have the time for it, and was hoping to find some solution here. Nothing is worse than having to take the time and effort for taking a brand new product for service.
I don't see a PC interface port on the 101 like the one on my 1112. But I don't know if there is one inside the cover or something... haven't checked.
While we would all like to use MP3s of high bitrates, its not always a choice we can make. I have some files of <32 kbps, and I now know this amazing phone can't play them. But I really don't understand why it isn't playing half my files that are in the whereabouts of 50 kbps. Its not possible to get these files at originally higher bitrates. I guess I could try to encode these files at higher bitrates, but thats not going to increase their quality! Besides, these are audio books and no music, so the files at existing bitrate are fairly good. And really, why should I be spending time in doing all this, when every other phone, including very basic ones can play these files on the same SD card without a hitch?
I mainly bought this phone as a secondary phone for some voice calling and for its MP3 player. It fails badly at both jobs as its single speaker design makes any privacy on calls impossble - everyone around can hear the opposite person loudly. And as an MP3 player it fails for the reason above, for having a barely ok speaker (not quite good enough even for audio books) and for being so bare bones as to not even have a seek option, which is a REALLY bad thing when you are listening to audio books.
Even no-name Chinese phones can do a better job.

  • Corrupt MP3 files! Utility To

    Hi,
I have a problem with my Zen Touch. Sometimes it turns on, sometimes it does not (I can finally get it by entering recovery mode and rebooting, sometimes this need to do be done a few times). Creative tell me to reformat, and rip all my music again as they think the problem due to a corrupt MP3 file.
If this is the case, I have 6gig or music, and re-ripping it will take me a long time.
Is there a utility tool which can scan my files and verify if there are any corrupt files in there?

Scanning 6GB of music for a corrupt file is not too much fun. See if you can determine what may have caused your player to have this problem, ie transferred a batch of songs recently that caused the issue. Then delete those or if you only have them on the player (which you should not ... backup backup backup and all) move those back to the PC. This is assuming you can get the player to turn on and stay on.
MP3Library ( http://www.jumpingcholla.com/jce_nomad.htm ) has a very good file scanner and repair function. It will work on tracks on your computer not on your player so that will be the place to do the repair.
    Good luck with it!

  • This MP3 crashes the M4A converter in Nokia Music ...

Please see the attachment. Are any other forum users able to confirm their NMM crashes with this MP3?
Note: only ~3% of the original MP3 has been included so as not to constitute a copyright violation.
This part-file crashes the MM just like the full MP3 does. Within a few milliseconds of starting the conversion, NMM disappears from screen completely and must be re-launched from the PC Suite panel.. Even if it cannot process a file, NMM should not crash this disastrously!
