Nokia Music on Windows 8 PC - My Music on network ...

Hello,
I installed Nokia Music on my Windows 8 PC (in prep to buy a new Lumia 928 when it comes to Vzw) to get a feel for how it works. I do like it, but it wont see any of my "local" music, which is all hosted on a network share on a Windows 2012 server and in my "My Music" library as a Network Share path.
The music works fine with Xbox music, but Nokia music says it cant see any songs there (of the 26,000 that are there).
Is this a known limitation, are there plans to resolve it?

No, you need to copy them to your MacBook, you can use a USB stick if you haven't set up homesharing.

Nokia suite reports "there is no music on this mob...

It used to work, and now it doesn't.
I'm running Nokia Suite 3.4.40 on Windows 7, connected via BlueTooth with my 5310 XpressMusic.
Sync'ing messages and contacts works like a charm.
But Nokia Suite reports "Thre is no music on this mobile" which is plain wrong.
I've tried renaming the folder on the SD from "Music" to "Musique", to no avail.
How do I get Nokia Suite to "see" the music contents in my phone?

Nokia Suite does not seem to be able to access data on your SD card. If you want your music library to be recognised by Nokia Suite, you can try this:
Access your phone in mass memory (or USB) mode (direct access to the phone drives) / plug in your SD card
Copy your music folder on the computer and add it to Nokia Suite
Connect your phone in Nokia Suite mode and sync the music library
Also, check that your music folder name is identical to the one your phone memory. Alternatively, you can manage your SD card music library in mass memory (or USB) mode.

How can i transfer my music from windows 7 to a mini mac

I need some help as I bought a mini mac for more storage for my music on windows 7 and greater ease of use for managing my music library.
I also have an external hard drive full of music 750GB I was hoping to transfer.
I am now considering an external hard drive as a last resort to at least rip my several 100 cds as nothing has worked to date.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I'm a real Apple newbie

Depending on the size of your music/video collection, an external HD is probably the best way to go.
I have nearly a Terabyte of music and videos and that simply won't fit on a Mini's 500Gb HD, so I keep it elsewhere.
Moving it is simply a matter of physically copying the files to the external HD and then pointing iTunes to the location.

What is best way for 3 person family to share 200 gb music on 1 itunes account on two networked windows 7 PCs, have access to each others music on each PC but have own libraries. Goal is simplicity

Currently, one windows 7 pc is upstairs in common area and is used most frequently. Father's (me) windows 7 pc is downstairs and has 200gb music collection on internal hardrive. PCs are networked together. Wife and kids would like to buy and listen to itunes music upstairs. They would be ok sharing a music library and it would not need to be huge. They generally, but not exclusively don't care for my music. I am eclectic and like their music as well as mine and would like access to it to be able to easily put it on my devices for family trips, etc and update playlists.
Ideally, I would like to be able to keep all of the music together on the same hard drive for managament purposes (organizing, replacing a computer, etc). I don't trust them not to screw up my library (too many hours invovled in it already), so I'm assuming that they should have their own libraries. These they would access upstairs and would also sync their devices on the upstairs computer. I think both their libraries could be pointed to the harddrive on the downstairs computer where the music files currently reside. When they played music from the upstairs computer, it would play from the downstairs computer across the network. If they purchase music on the upstairs computer, I would like it to get downloaded on the downstairs computer with the other music files and not be downloaded onto the upstairs computer. I would like to be able to rely on my library and the music files not getting messed up. If friends and babysitters come over, they use the upstairs computer. We've had a disaster before when it was just one computer, but the music was on an external hard drive and my wife launched itunes without turning on the external hard drive first and fried my library.
The best I can come up with is their having their own libraries, on the upstairs computer, that reference all music files on the downstairs computer over the network. Am I on the right track here? How do I make sure their purchases go into and only into the music file downstairs? Is there some other better option of having a separate itunes on the upstairs computer and storing their music separately upstairs? How would I make sure to get copies of their music files from the upstairs computer also into my large music file downstairs, so I can keep one comprehensive collection of music all in one file. This seems like it shouldn't be so very difficult in the 21st century. I ought to be able to keep one comprehensive music file and one comprehensive library, even though my wife and child, who are less computer literate than me would like smaller, more personalized libraries and to purchase music on the convenient upstairs computer and even store their music on the upstairs computer accross a network. I the old days, you could just dupe some of the CDs. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife is tired of waiting on me to resolve.

New ipod, started up with Mac but want to download from music from windows?

Ok, so I got my new 5th gen ipod and started it up with my Mac. However all my music is on my old laptop..windows. Is it possible without restoring the ipod to download my music from windows? By the way I am hopeless and my Mac is 2nd hand so I am not sure if it is MacOS9.2.x. Not that that makes a difference, just so you know. Or will I have to put all my music onto my MAC? Probably the easiest way to use an iPod on both Mac and Windows computers is to format the iPod (using iPod Updater) using the PC. This will force your iPod to use the Windows file system (FAT32) which both the Mac and PC can read from and write to without the help of additional software. Of course then all your software updates for the iPod will have to be done on Windows.  If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.

Moving music from Windows Media Player to iTunes

Apologies if this is repeating what others have asked many times in the past - I know what these forums can get like sometimes! I have had a look around though and couldn't find a definitive answer, so...
I have to date put all my music in Windows Media player on my PC. I am now going to buy an ipod so, obviously, I need my music in iTunes.
Is it simply a case of copying the folders from 'My Music' into the iTunes version of 'My Music'? If so, where is the iTunes version of 'My Music'..?!

FIrst before I say anything else, As of now its only...6:30am here on the east coast USA (Which means its 3AM in California) so the event has not taken place yet. Apple is very secritive about what there doing, and anything you hear is rumor til apple comes out, says what there doing/announcing and makes it fact.
Now that said, there has been RUMORS (So far) apple MIGHT release some type of new nano and/or video ipod along with an announcement they have made deals with hollywood to start selling movies on there US store.
I just wanted to give you a heads up just incase you was buying today and the rumors turned out to be true. I would of utterly hated for you me or anyone to buy an ipod today, and then later in the afternoon, or tommorrow apple release a new ipod. If that happend to me... I would be Cursing up a storm (Southern slang meaning I would be REALLY UPSET LOL)
